People actually followed the rules and did what a fricking app told them to do. Keep in mind, this wasn't the app that showed your covid vaccine certificate as that came later on, this was an app that told you to stay your house if you coughed.

Also, we still have to deal with British people because a bunch of British sois became “Brexit refugees”. That last bit is probably a net gain for people living in Britain.

the guy Cumberbatch plays in the movie is genuinely smart. I hate that he got hounded out of the goverment in 2020 because he broke covid policy rules. Boris Johnson also was too much of a pussy to bring in the ideas. Now weve got the most left wing government in 50 years

      Anonymous

well everyone hated the government for it so they had to get rid
the story dropped in like may 2020 and immediately the government started losing support from the electorate

      Anonymous

He didn't get "hounded out of the Government" for breaking COVID rules. When he drove 150 miles to visit a tourist location with his family while other people were locked at home watching their granny asphyxiate to death on FaceTime, Boris Johnson and the rest of the shitheads held a press conference and simply said he'd done nothing wrong / it was minor offence, he's apologised now leave him alone.

That was a pretty monumental event in UK history because up until then, newspapers and TV had been able to get anyone in Government sacked by printing bad stories about them day after day until they had to resign. "Cummingsgate" broke the power of the press by simply refusing to resign, exposing the newspapers for the toothless c**ts they've always been.

The reason Cummings was actually hounded out of Government was because Boris Johnson's wife hated him. He called her "Princess Nut Nut" and along with other members of his male clique, openly sneered at her attempts to influence politics via her husband. Eventually Boris lost his shit one day, went full alpha gorilla mode and kicked the bald goblin out of no.10 with his belongings in a box.

R Carrie saved us from more endless lockdowns because she wanted to attend her friend's weddings, and her affection for animals meant that Cummings didn't get his way by importing more fleeing Afghans to Britain

I will also say that there is nothing left wing about this government, the sole reason they are clinging to power is to put worker's tax money into rich people's pockets. The record breaking high taxes aren't being used to give poor people better services and benefits, they're funding the pensions and life-prolonging medical treatment of rich boomers with two houses. The record breaking numbers of immigrants aren't being brought in because the government are soppy liberals who love brown people, they're being brought in to work shit jobs in petrol stations, warehouses and delivering cold burgers on mopeds, all to eke out extra tax money to get paid to utility shareholders, boomers and large companies run by Tory donors.

Brexit was just about pissing off the elite and stopping their gravy train from the eu and make redditors seeth. We all knew we would get screwed over because one half of the population hates britain and white people. We could easily go our own way and becaome a successful like norway/findland/switzland but we are not allowed nice things. If we stayed in the eu things would have gone to shit but just more slowly.

Norway, Switzerland and Iceland are part of the single market, have freedom of movement, and contribute to the EU budget. This is what Brexit supporters would have called a "traitor's" deal. There's a reason no successful country in Europe has sought a situation like the UK currently has, it's shit.

They are also have their own currency and strict immigration and the eu have no say in how their countries are run, you know an actual trade agreement without the bullshit which is what everyone voted for in the first place.

which the UK did when it was in the EU and the pound was stronger back then

          >eu have no say in how their countries are run

False. These countries are part of the EEA and subject to a massive complex maze of rules both small and large, that includes the jurisdiction of EU courts and the "Four Pillars" of the EEA - one of which is Freedom of Movement with other EEA countries

          >strict immigration

These countries all submit to Freedom of Movement with the EU meaning anyone from any EU country can freely travel, work and live there. Claim benefits too. And they don't even have to be EU citizens. If Bulgaria give a Somalian rapist a national ID card, he could walk into Switzerland or Norway and they couldn't do a damn thing about it. And good luck deporting him back to Somalia if he rapes again - the EU court of human rights will forbid it.

Tl;Dr - Norway / Switzerland / EFTA has the biggest downside of being in the EU - uncontrollable migration- and the biggest upside, Free Trade, is undermined by the fact they have to submit to EU trade rules without getting a say in how the rules are made

As a brexit voter it saddens me that our continental friends think brexit was a snub on Europe. It wasn't, it was a snub to the EU which Europe does not need. Trying to standardise Europe even though its made up of multiple unique countries with separate culture, currency etc. The Germans want to turn is into the next US where the only thing that matters is economic growth.

I remember hearing how LePenn was celebrating for us when we left the EU and it made me happy to think maybe there was some French who realised this wasn't a frick you to them but to the organisation trying to bind us all together and control us. But of course there will be a huge slice of Europeans who will taken Brexit as a huge frick you (like our own remainers), which for myself and all other Brexit voters I knew was not the case.

People mistake Free Trade for Frictionless Trade. The UK trade deal with the EU means we can buy and sell unlimited amounts of stuff but it's all subject to customs checks. Whereas when in the EU you could literally start a business by hiring a van, driving to france, buying a load of cheese, driving back to the UK and selling it on a street market the next day - no checks. No inspections, no taxes. No paperwork. No visas. Now everything we sell to the EU goes through customs as if it was Indian or African goods. This has destroyed thousands of business across the UK that used to be able to sell to a market of 30+ states but after Brexit could only sell to 1.

Britain has the entire commonwealth immigration system to worry about first and foremost. There has never been a vote about that on the table for the British public so it is almost irrelevant. The British however did get a vote on EU membership, its quite clear to see that the EU are no different to our elite in wanting constant mass immigration and with things like Germanys open door policy and then the free movement system the EU were aggressively trying to force on everyone, well you can see where it was going. Effectively Britain have two main flows of incoming immigration and they voted to cut off one of them. Once again we have been let down by the people who rule us.

The fun part about commonwealth immigration is anybody who uses it to come to the UK, even if just to study, gets to then vote in all your elections. But you can't go to their country and do it in return.

Unfortunately for normal English people, after the elite lost their colonial empire they decided to turn their own country into the colony and bring the people exploited overseas to be exploited inside.
As well as helping erase any kind of family or worker unity that could threaten their profits.

And you mine. I think the part that's most unnerving is that immigrants do not seem to like their host country or its people, at least second generation onwards don't. It immediately becomes a battle for ownership of land and culture and they would rather strengthen their roots in the host countries than assimilate properly. Here in Britain there are parts of London where you won't see anyone other than Muslims for miles and miles. Even in my home town they have tripled in recent time and there are mosques opening everywhere. Its obvious to me now it will never stop or get better.

It's awful how ungrateful they are, the first generation at least respects a little bit cause they know they come from corrupt shitholes but the second and third are the worse.
They always vote for the candidate that brings more migrants, even if they may be conservative they have no problem voting socialist or whoever candidate is more globalist on order to increase their numbers.
They instinctively understand elections are an ethnic war first and a political war second. They know who the core demographic is and thus vote to whoever is more likely to take away their wealth and power.

                >It's not one or the other. You could just not get inmigrants.
It absolutely is based on the way the economy is set up though - you go to your average hospital, dentist, old people's home or GP clinic - go to a farm and see who is picking the fruit - go to a factory and see who is working on the production line.
Like it or not, the modern British economy is built on cheap migrant labour and you can't just go cold turkey on that overnight. EU migration plummeted overnight after Brexit and where you used to see Polish people doing these jobs everywhere, they've all gone home and now there isn't anyone to fill all those jobs because British people don't want to do them.
So the government then has to shop abroad for cheap labour and try and hand out incentives to other countries to get their workers over here.
It absolutely is one or the other.

                >the modern British economy is built on cheap migrant labour
It absolutely is. It's a vampire economy based on sucking pennies out of Deliveroo drivers, Amazon warehouse shelf stackers, Indian garage forecourt attendants, Nigerian McDonald's line cooks and Ghanaian cleaning ladies. The "high skill high wage" economy is a fricking joke. UK productivity is flatlined to margin of error levels despite the gigantic swarms of people arriving every month. Any time any business manages to turn a profit the money goes to landlords and shareholders (most of whom are overseas) rather than get reinvested in replacing crumbling machinery and building. People who are poor have low standards for life, that's why they're poor. As such they have equally low standards for the lives of their children. If you live on the dole on a council estate you're obviously more likely to be content for your children to live on the dole on a council estate. Perhaps it's more accurate to say
                >people don't have kids because it's too expensive to provide them the means to build a life that isn't wretched and worthless

Haha get rid of state pensions and the triple lock. Lol yeah you'll get voted in with THAT in your manifesto. No, the UK is in a doom loop of elderly people being the biggest voting block and always voting for their own benefit meaning life gets harder for the young meaning there are fewer young people meaning the old people's vote gets stronger ...

                Also...

Inmigrants don't help create new children, in fact they make it less likely cause the cheap district become dangerous no go zones.
Pensioners don't get to erase the future of their country to live comfy 20 years before dying.
This whole pension inmigrant circle is entirely made up.
For centuries European countries thrived without either.

                a) brown 3rd world immigrants inarguably have more children than native whites. Whites are barely scraping replacement rates.
                b) the purpose of importing immigrants is for them to WORK AND PAY TAX to support pensioners, not populate the country with more children of their own (note. This is a side effect).

I'd at least respect this policy position if it was actually ruthlessly enforced for this purpose. Instead we get 50 year old nigerians brought in to be minimum wage careworkers, who also bring in 4 dependents, who will retire into a council house and cost the state on net 100s of thousands more than just hiring a british worker for 20 quid an hour.

back then strong family clan systems still existed. in the middle ages you didn’t need a pension because your entire extended family was housing and feeding you and having daily contact. nowerdays people don’t want their elderly parents living in their house. you need a pension if you expect old people to live on their own and without a support network which is what we have lost since the industrial revolution

      Anglislam includes such changes as:
      - Rammadan is a period where you cannot go a day without at least having 1 pint of lager.
      - Rammadan is move to the start of the Premier League
      - Bacon is now halal
      - Halal food in general is 'none of that foreign muck', with some exceptions like KFC, Kebabs, Chinky and Curries.
      - You must always pray in the direction of your chosen football clubs ground.
      - Noncing is haram, so is biffing your cousin.

ah, that's alright then. What alternative wealth measurement is there that doesn't make europe look increasingly sclerotic and irrelevant?

The entirety of Europe is doing horribly because the the free-money-train has stopped now that the ECB can't print trillions of euros every year without flaming the fans of inflation even more and risking social unrest

Redditors/liberals/remainders (all the same thing really) love the idea of "experts" telling them what to do, in many ways despite their pretensions they are utterly incurious people. Most passionate remainers have little understand of the EU as an entity, it's institutions, history, the parliament and commission, the history of the UK's relation to it, the rebate, or whatever. Like most people they don't make an objective assessment, it's more around narrative and symbols. But they deride the Leave voters for acting on these narratives (too many foreigners, sovereignty) while themselves feigning an enlightened, "rational" position. What drives remainers is coming back from a holiday to France, a few bottles of local wine in the suitcase, having used a smattering of French in cafes, and then tapping their EU passports in the special EU passport line. It's sophistication, worldliness, feeling to be a good person, with the right beliefs. To them, the EU project is fused with the idea of Europe itself, to attack the EU is to attack the "story" of Germans and Italians working for a media company in London and heading to the Portuguese food truck.

Redditors love the concept of Leopards Ate My Face - people vote for something (right wing, obvs) and get their "just desserts" in the form of some retributory justice. Guess you shouldn't have voted "against your self interests", chud? Brexit too - if the promises are broken, the process frustrated, the immigration increased then I guess you deserve it for voting for what you hoped was the opposite. You see the barely concealed contempt, the disciplinary streak of punishment, ironically from people who disavow authoritarianism, disciplinary structures (eg prison). It's all just psychopathology from lukewarm people who don't really believe in anything apart from some self-serving idea of progress. Brits can't be trusted to govern themselves and need to be told what to do, is what they really mean, what they really think.

absolute kino post. Worded much better than i could put it myself. The people who you're describing are the same people who hate Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage because they're told to by the guardian. Then when you query them on as to why they hate them, their retort is it's 'because they're a twat' . Utter cattle with zero critical thinking nor impulse to rebel against authority no matter how much said authority destroys their country from the inside or destroy's their quality of life. Everything is tit for tat point scoring between the 'goodies' and the 'baddies'. Any of them with power will do as much as they can to try and block/distrupt brexit and then use brexit as a scapegoat for any percieved woe in the country.

      >See! look we cant even get a trade agreement
While doing as much as possible to disrupt the process of a trade agreement between the UK and other countries and bog down brexit with as much roadblocks and red tape as possible. They of course are trying to create the conditions for a collective punishment for brexit.

It isnt about the propsperity of the country for them. They see brexit as an issue they can throw the baby out with the bathwater on. Because it isnt their way they are willing to sabotage the whole countries' prosperity in order to prove a point regarding brexit being 'wrong'. That is the mindset these people have. These people would happily have been the guards at auchwitz back in the day.

Lad, the ones fricking up our trade deals with rest of the world are the shithead farmers, that would be wiped out by competition and the shithead pensioners that don't want to see foreigners on the streets, literally the two groups that swung the vote FOR brexit.

It isn't some mythical die hard remainer saboteurs.

    >your poor region used to get funding form the EU, now it's gone are you glad? Guess you shouldnt have voted for the face-eating leopard party, heh.
Where did the money come from?
    >the EU budget, nations contribute and money and then that is given to projects from the EU development programme
Instead of giving money to the EU and getting some fraction back for new development could our taxes not be directly used to fund those developments by our own government? Perhaps we could decide where funding is allocated ourselves?
    >REEE why do you hate progress supranational bureaucratic antidemocratic institutions are the only way forward for getting rid of people with the wrong beliefs I mean making the world a better place

That's right. Chuds voted against their own economic interests because they were upset that people who went to Oxbridge sneered at them... Because another group of people who went to Oxbridge told them it would work... and laughed at them afterwards.

UK can't blame the EU for mass migration any more. People have realised the Tories lied to them, hence why they're polling at 20%. that's something, I guess.

Considering the entire political class was against brexit and have no interest in changing what they were doing for the past several decades, and they fricked the country by shutting it down for 2 years to stop the flu. No not really.

Its pretty funny when you think about it. A commodities trader and an owner and facilitator of off-shore tax avoidance banks were concerned that the EU was going to clamp down on tax avoidance and money laundering practices. They then managed to headfrick a huge percentage of people into thinking that they weren't part of the power elite, that they give a frick about normal people, and that they give a frick about immigration..... and then get these simpletons to vote against their interests en masse.

A few week targeted ads at baby- boomers on facebook and you can turn the world upsidedown
