No, people hated W.I.T.C.H. from the start.
It changed things to fix the giant mess that the comics were, but you're not allowed to change things in an adaptation regardless apparently.
Also Disney dropped it like a hot potato and stopped advertising the show after the premiere, and Americans assume if something isn't promoted it deserves its unpopularity so it's bad instead of seeking out shows themselves.
Makes sense, Winx had the actual italian W.I.T.C.H. people working on it.
It's not even funny how not good this show is. Be thankful they never got to make the scanners story.

The, yeah. Some things are best left forgotten anon. Detectives kept tabs on the girls, one of them had powers. It even ended with a literal deus ex machina when the Oracle had to intervene just to end his bullshit.
The show would've probably rewritten and fixed the story, just like it did for the first two arcs. But I doubt any finale could surpass Z is for Zenith...

my brother, who is a western animation expert, tells me that anyone who puts ATLA anywhere above 20 on a top 100 list knows nothing about animation. He says WITCH is underrated and would be in his top 50.
I seriously doubt he knows even close to as many shows I do. For many obscure series I literally seem to be the only one online to remember them in current year.
If he's willing to share his actual "top" shows, let's hear them.
Until then, I say that anyone who doesn't put W.I.T.C.H. first with ATLA a distant second doesn't really understand animated series storytelling.
