It used be represented as a balance but it seems like they tried to change that a bit with Eliatrope being captured by a Stasis being that was eating all Wakfu. She was traumatized because she has spent an unknown amount of time just having her life ripped out of her for creatures that know nothing but hunger feed on it.
I will agree her characterization was not the greatest but presumably she realized in all of this she was smothering her children and let them go.
I think she was sent there for reconning eliatropes and dragons from being two species that grew so close eliatropes were reborn alongsides dragons in the same egg to both of them just being created that way and dumped as focus in multiple worlds
