Warner Bros. Cooked HBO Max Subscriber Numbers, Misled Shareholders in Merger, Lawsuit Claims

The old WB regime lied about its HBO Max subscribers in an attempt to fool shareholders before the Discovery merger.

Remember all the bogus news about such movie or show being a major HBO Max success? All lies.

They all are. As bad as the Nielsen ratings were, they're now effectively having companies fill out their own books.

they al lie. netflix keeps talking about their movies being most streamed ever when it counts people just previewing it on the menu screen as soon as it loads up

      Anonymous

Yeah. Streaming is burning money. They are all investing everything they have with the hope they may have the monopoly in the future if the other companies get bankrupted first, and even that doesn't guarantee it will be profitable.

it's not about profits its about having a monopoly of access to hearts and minds

that's how every tech investment has been for decades. you pour money into something non-stop hoping you outlast everyone and end up the only remaining option. the streaming services all seem to be doing the same just because they didn't want to see anyone else make money off of their product

      Anonymous

They've all been doing it. It's part of why they selectively release streaming audience numbers rather than providing all the raw data.

I really only remember them claiming Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman and Peace Maker all drove subs while simultaneously never hearing them talked about IRL

shareholders, like israelites and boomers, are the top of the food chain. when they come across something they don't like they make a law to keep it from happening in the future, lest their fragile aged brains be forced to experience something other than full obedience from lesser people.
why else do you think you can't discriminate against silents and boomers in the work place based solely on age? they knew their time was up decades ago but they made it so you can't even so much as think of implying they can't do their job anymore because of being old without being fired on the spot or reported to the government

I do it for free, thanks you. It's funny, because I used to be against corporations, but this past decade I realized that capitalism actually works when the right people are in charge. It could still be better though.

They get sold off piece by piece. It's quite amazing really because WB has all the IP's they need to compete with Disney but it's so horribly mismanaged that it's become one of the worst studios
