I lived it.
Minimal impact. People were writing op-eds in Newsweek and shit about how South Park would change politics. It didn't, not really, not compared to things like Newt Gingrich's tenure. Did it make America coarser and crueler? I don't think so. Not to a major extent, not compared to things like Talk Radio and Fox News. Maybe it nudged the needle on America's shittiness a bit, but not a whole lot.
That's a take that pretty clearly comes from someone who never watched the show.
Honestly, growing up with South Park as this big bad "forbidden cartoon", it was kind of shocking watching it and seeing how up its own ass it could get with its moralistic messages. It's crude, violent, and edgy, sure, but it's not ""mean-spirited"" (usually).
Family Guy is a far more "cruel" show.
The manatees are just jealous
And Family Guy isn't?
>Twitter screencap thread
This shit should be an insta-ban.
>mean-spirited
I will never take anyone who uses this term seriously in any shape or form.
get cancer and die alone
Very mean spirited, anon.
imagine thinking a silly cartoon affected someone's life
I mean yeah, but a very minimal impact.
moronic zoomer post. you have no idea what a massive phenomena early south park was for gen x.
back when a main character died in every episode and the show wasn't filled with /misc/ shit?
>/misc/ shit?
so you've never even seen it. fricking zoomers man.
South Park is political as frick.
recent south park is just political hit piece after political hit piece, yes. but politics is not what anybody means when they say '/misc/ shit'.
Too bad because that's exactly what I meant, c**t

I expect nothing less from a “cartoon” made by two israelites.
Trey Parker isn't israeli.
Married a israelite.
He made the Irish e-celeb seethe, so yes.

twitter screen cap threads should die. I hope you fricking have a nice day OP
turns out kids shouldn't have watched it
Whether he was right or not, South Park has sucked for the past ~15 years.
Op picked that screencap BECAUSE of the avatar.
