They better find a better cast for Rogue in the inevitable MCU x-men

It's MBB. They announce it tonight, you heard it here first.

She would be perfect for Kitty Pryde. Rogue should be a more mature woman this time around.

Cyclops is likely because he's a hyper-prepared autist who is literally always ready to throw down with random assassins or whatever. In Rogue's case, it'd be kinda counterproductive to the real solution of learning to control her abilities.

The in the thread isn't whether Rogue knows this. The question is whether Storm was right. She was, and, in fact, even if she were mad at the time, Rogue would be wrong to attack her over it. Because Storm's position IS correct.

                >later days of Rome
This is a good example of why you're a fricking moron. The periods of Roman history people associate with 'high depravity' and lots of shagging and sexual openness and shit are in its 1st and 2nd Century, literally hundreds of years before its fall.

The period of Rome's fall was characterized by three things: increasing overdelegation of responsibility and power to landowners that had no interest in the responsibilities involved, a fricking huge ass plague that was exacerbated by the former feature, and massive migrations prompted by changes in climate. Rome was at its most 'degenerate' under the early emperors and the Three Good Emperors, which are also its greatest periods of strength, expansion, and social unity.

                Anonymous

Political killings have occurred throughout Rome's history, and they didn't have precisely the same kind 'conservative/liberal' split we have. That said, you're probably confusing the period of the Western Fall with the Republican Crisis, which was a period that DID have a lot more killings than normal, but was much, much earlier in Rome's history.

The primary thing that 'conservatives', if you wnt to call them that, in Rome at the time of the fall were b***hing about was not sex stuff. It was the prominence of people not born in Rome the city in its legions. This was completely moronic, by the way, as by that point the empire required far more soldiers, and in the end alienating otherwise loyal soldiers this way was a huge mistake.

Making most mutants just deformed or harmed by their mutations fricks with the underlying narrative, it even fricked with Morrison's narrative. Mutants would be pitied, not hated, no one would want to be a mutant, and the biggest group advocating for cures would be mutants.

There's been quite a few stories, even before Morrison, where a mutant has a power that's otherwise 'useless' and a lot of the Morlocks had that too. Quite a few writers have taken issue over the years with the idea that the only people who gain mutant powers are impossibly attractive and have model-type bodies. It's hardly a radical idea.

It should be noted that this is Ultimate X-Men, where there is no actual x-gene, and everything is as grimdark as possible. There's never been a mutant like this in 616 canon.

          Anonymous

That's not entirely true. If you mean that there's never been a mutant that the other X-men have collectively agreed needed to be put down immediately, there are probably are some kind of edge cases that exist somewhere, but for the most part it's true. But in terms of x-gene powers that cause some grimdark situations at puberty, hoo boy there are far worse cases than even Rogue. Chamber outright blew out his face and respiratory system the moment his powers manifested. And there's a whole group of mutants called "changelings" whose powers manifest at infancy, which has caused a number of potentially lethal situations to occur since they're still babies. Hell, iirc in like the X-men Gold era, there was a fetus with an x-gene that was developed psychic powers in the womb distress and was projecting its distress over the impending birth over the distance of a city block. So now there's far more than enough precedence for a killzone mutant to exist in 616 now.

            Anonymous

I'm not sure if those are equivalent. Chamber hurt one other person when he manifested, and the foetus mutant (which was in the Five Light stuff, no?) didn't actually kill anyone - and was also an explicitly strange, off-kilter mutant manifestation (all the Five Lights manifested in odd ways not normally possible).

It's also pretty important to remember that changelings are an early form of mutation that pretty much no longer exists. There's only two confirmed changelings - Damian Tryp and Maddox. The baby in Generation Hope or whatever it was called was just an anomaly caused by the PF randomly triggering mutations it needed as it approached Earth.

            >Chamber
I hate that he has been butchered. It's one thing to destroy his character, they have done that to every character, but they destroyed his amazing look.

He has psionic energy constantly flowing in and around him when his mask is off and any decent artist could make it look amazing. Artists should love drawing him because he can make any panel look good.

For people like her with non-offensive powers, it's more to teach them shit like teamwork, how to survive combat, etc. They've shown characters learning how to use firearms (sci-fi lasers, but same thing), hand to hand combat training and all that jazz, so just because she can't fire heat beams out of her elbows, it doesn't mean she can't learn nothing. It's not like high school PE.

to be honest unless I had a power I could actually legally make money off of, or one that provided tangible day to day benefits, I'd probably want to be cured. like if I'm not going to be fighting other super powered buttholes then having magic powers is probably more likely to start shit than help. like so what if I can shoot fireworks out of my hands, at best I can do cool party tricks and at worst I get too excited while wanking and set my house on fire or something. people lose control of their body functions all the time when they're sick or in stressful situations, the last thing I'd want is for some superpower to go off because I ate a bad taco or got too drunk or something.

It's easy to forget that there were scenes in Breaking Bad where he wasn't oppressively evil, but they do exist! That said, I've always felt that Xavier should always have a vaguely suspicious air about him. The guy's meant to be one of the top chessmasters in Marvel - he wasn't a part of the Illuminators in the comics because they liked having him around. Chuck being the kind of character who acts like he always has an angle for every eventuality makes perfect sense.

there are people that are born gay due to receiving too much estrogen(or testosterone if it's a girl) in their mother's womb and nothing can be done about it, but there are also people that chose a gay lifestyle due to childhood abuse trauma(many gays claim to have been abused as kid, way more than the average for the overall population), those can be treated through conventional means.

They literally can not process the data that would make them aware of what everyone else is thinking. Making eye contact overwhelms them.
And that's just the social side of it.

You can overwhelm them with other senses too. Bright colors, loud sounds. Even a change in flavor or texture of their food. That's why they like junk food, because it tastes the same every time.
Give them a peach. One side is sweet, one side is sour, they'll chuck it and have a meltdown because God forbid they experience "bitterness"

Your cousin is not the only autist on the planet. It truly is a spectrum. I'm a fricking weirdo, sure. I misread social cues, I'm inappropriate, I babble and get obsessed with stuff.

But I'm fully capable of eating something I don't actually like, and if you try to 'overload me' with any kind of sensory stimulation I'm going to slap the shit out of you.

There are a lot of sounds I can not fricking stand (walking on beach sand, gah. Makes my skin crawl), but I don't shut down and go into the fetal position over it.

                Anonymous

Yes, it's a spectrum in the sense that people have different thresholds of processing.

My case and point. Here you are getting defensive of a general overview of autism. Because you've dumbed it down to "autism = me"
But you are not a collective noun. You are not an adjective.

So maybe you'll "slap the shit out of someone that overwelms you". But ironically you've spread your sense of self beyond (you). So it's not any wonder that Jesus will come along and slap that demon that calls itself legion out of your smartass mouth.

A monosexual race that sexually reproduces makes no sense.

It's always a crappy sex suprem8st homosexual fantasy that exists for ego.

Aesrxual reproduction would make more sex for monosexual races

yeah something like the namekians make more sense, they reproduce asexualy but they can tweak their babies so they aren't always genetically identical

Why though? There could be an absence of a sex gene, but you still use sex as a way to exchange genetic material. Hell, the "sex" and necessary organs may not even correspond to what we have.

I realize my example isn't perfect because they're liars, but you get the idea.

Neither does a race made entirely of rocks that can survive getting broken down to just the face, but here we fricking are.

Why is storm being such a transphobe? Rogue is just a human trapped in a mutie body, she should be able to transition if she wants!

Rogue could shut down Storm's entire argument in this scene by touching her face. Storm was a fricking idiot. Rogue was also terribly cast and had awful powers and was generally a waste too. Shame. I want a big southern belle flying brick giving everyone the business as she casually busts through walls and her shirt.

      Same.
      But it was singer.
There were no straight people or attractive younger women in the cast.
Snd thar was pure YOU CANT CURE GAU

Everyone was disappointed by rogue amd basically all of the casting. And the plot for all of the stories were so goddamned dumb

Dove Cameron, Britney spears, Young Mariah Carrey.

Yes, pretty much everyone reasonable thought that comment was obscenely insensitive, coming from a b***h with cool lighting powers to a girl who couldn't touch the people she loved

Whole film is built on bad takes though. After the shit mutants had tried to pull in the first film alone, and just the dangerous nature of many of them in general, there was nothing outrageous about the notion of developing a way to take someone's mutant attributes away, or even weaponizing it into fire-arms for mutant prison guards, which the mad muties ended up vindicating themselves.

Tge entire movie was a stupid poorly cast fir the most part gross sleazy dumpsterfire.

I had flashbacks to when I was bad touched as a kid and feel queasy just watching it.

But it was the cmen so we had to give it a free pass. God rogue was homely and used horribly
