Hey, look at it this way. At least you're not reminded EVERY SINGLE EPISODE that you don't have a Linda in your life. This is a different kind of pain.
it had 2 and one ...like...talk-singing gag reveal from the main bad guy (that was awful). it definitely wasn't a musical but it had 2 musical numbers and they needed one more actual song. And the choreography was GARBAGE, every character looked like a muppet that they put on marionette strings just bumbling around.
I enjoyed the badguy song because it perfectly fit the villain. He’s awkward, not really used to outright villainy, and barely has any confidence in his plans. It sums up so well how odd he actually is, and weak compared to his cousins.

I unironically really like the Lucky ducks song
I say this as someone who finds the voices of bob's burgers to be especially bad.
Lucky ducks needed to be set at the wharf. Carnieopolis was fun location but what the song really needed is a big choreographed dance between all the workers while they're working.
Was Season 12 actually a return to form, or did it just seem better since Season 11 was so fresh on our minds? Could the building excitement for the movie have also played a role?
Remember that one time Bob let Jimmy Pesto steal his legitimate historical moment with the dead mobster? Bob you dumb butthole you live in new jersey and Jimmy Pesto deserves to be unhappy.

Bob is a great chef but he's the world's worst businessman. He doesn't understand that having his autistic kids as staff scares people away, he constantly undercharges for his product despite buying top of the line speciality ingredients, and in one episode he even turns down an investor just because the investor wanted the restaurant to have some theming.
Bob only seems sane in comparison to his family and even then it's just barely but the truth is he deserves much of his failure.

I think that deep down he’s scared to become Jimmy Pesto. Even the Valentines episode where Jimmy congratulates Bob for pulling in customers, Bob clearly hates the idea of being like Pesto.
He is afraid of selling his soul. He became a chef so he could be creative and make people happy with his food, and he’s grown to resent any sense of chain restaurant mentality, even if it’s minor.

That seems like the one thing he WOULD find for cheap. Ice cream is simply a bonus treat. The burgers and fries are the main attraction.
it alright, hopefully season 13 has more life in it considering it might be some of the first new bob's people will willingly tune into after the movie. a lot of people fell off years back, so the crew's gonna want to really impress people now
It’s always been around. Most people just stopped talking about it as much around 2015~2016. Since then, it's coasted off of good streaming numbers on Hulu from a very dedicated but very quiet fan base.
It was as good as a long episode, so IMO that means good. If you expect to be bowled over, you won't be. That doesn't mean it's not good... It's worth watching, definitely.
It was one of the few movies this year I thought displayed the plight of the working man and the failures capitalism. It was phenomenal and a good Marxist film.
It's pretty damn good for the average Bob's Burgers fan and probably just ok/mediocre for anyone who isn't invested in the show.
I'm in agreement that it could have used more songs since it was advertised as a musical from the start, and it only really had like three, or four if you count Grover's "singing".
It was a better sequel version of the Season 6 special where Fishoeder's brother tried to destroy the warf and kill the family. And that episode was already really good and one of the best ones. Some people complained about the fact it's basically a better animated special but really I don't know what people expected and that describes just about all movies about a television show. The Simpsons Movie is basically just a really long epuisode of a middling Simpsons episode. Bobs Burgers Movie felt like a really long episode of Bob's Burgers when it was still in its prime.
I really hope Grover comes back in future episodes. I can easily see Mr. Fischoeder bailing him out of jail in order to notarize something or some stupid reason.
If Fanny can get out Grover probably can but I think he'd be relegated to background cameos. Felix getting a pass only really worked because he's funny and eccentric like his brother.
Yeah, Grover feels like he might be a little too evil of a character to ever get out of prison, let alone ever having any sort of positive interactions with the other characters again. Felix and Fanny, even with their attempted murder, were just misguided idiots. Grover is an actual calculated killer who committed all of his crimes without a shred of remorse and happily would have lived on knowing that he murdered an innocent carnival worker, his cousins and an innocent family of five, while Felix cracked in a few hours. Would honestly cheapen the movie's stakes a lot if you ask me. I've been rewatching some older episodes and it feels disturbing to know that cotton candy Dan's rotting body is under that fricking pavement the whole time up until the movie.
I don't think he'd live happily, but in a way that kinda makes him worse.
Helen is a sociopath. She may kill someone if it suits her and she thinks she can get away with it, or she may not. She literally lacks the parts of the brain that can make her feel bad about any of it, so all you can do is put her away to minimize the damage she can do. She's not a good person, but she doesn't especially care.
Grover? Grover KNOWS what he's doing is wrong, but he's so bitter and resentful he justifies it to himself and makes himself out to be the good guy. He's actively suppressing what he does to the Belchers, AS HE'S DOING IT. He's a pretty good portrait of what abuse and neglect can do to someone who, in another scenario, may be a good person.
Grover woukd never be happy because what he did would always weigh on him, but he would absolutely do more to keep it going because, frick, he's gone this far.

Probably not given that's all the way back in S3, but I am going to hazard a guess that Grover was created in prep for the movie, the script was submitted in 2018, and Grover appeared in S9/2019. So anything after S7-S8 had the movie in mind (maybe Chloe as well given she sets the Louise plot off, and she first appears in S7).

Absolutely love this whole scene where he's just whining about it like someone spilled juice on him at the store or something. He's not leaving prison.
>Bobs Burgers Movie felt like a really long episode of Bob's Burgers when it was still in its prime.
Yeah, it felt like a very strong Season 3-4 episode with a 90-minute runtime.

It sounds like he watched the reviews specifically to hate them.
>Season 8
Damn, has it really been that long? With how often both the fandom and the crew like to hype up the character, you would think she'd pop up just a little more often, even as silent cameos.
the movie was a vertical slice of the entire show. it had a little music, a little of the class commentary, a little of the kids' autism, a little bit of family moments, and had some laughs. it was fine.
there actually is already an episode that has essentially the same plot (with a similar villain even) in the show. it's not a bad thing but the characters haven't grown or gone anywhere.
>it's not a bad thing but the characters haven't grown or gone anywhere.
We got a heartwarming backstory revelation tho. Loren Bouchard has said on record that his team sought out not to push the Belchers into some grand spectacle of an adventure, but rather to uncover layers hidden between the crevices of the show we've come to know and love, hence the introduction of Carnieopolis and the Underwharf as well as the flashbacks to Bob's mom and the empty restaurant brimming with potential.
i think that's a fair, they didn't want to do anything big, but the stuff you listed doesn't hold up. Underwarf and Carnieopolis are just backgrounds and the flashbacks are under 30 seconds total of film time? maybe under a minute. But there's not a lot of inter character build either.
It's a 3/5 movie. Needs one more song and needs an actual plot hook outside of the s4 finale.
My friend at college who is a graphic design major and she has a nosering told me to watch Bob's Burgers because she knows I like King of the Hill and she told me BB is similar to KOTH but actually funny so I watched BB and I just didnt get it. i didnt laugh.
The Bob's Burgers movie is a sad case as industry people expected normal people to treat it like the return of traditional animation... no, make something that's actually animated well and that will be the return. This is just the usual franchise tripe which is basically obligatory, it represents nothing bigger than that
I really enjoyed it, but I wonder if it should have been more dramatic.
Loren Bouchard talked about how he couldn't get into what happened to Bob's mom in the show because it was a sad story and it needed the breathing room a movie alloted. But then the movie barely touched on it
Correct me if I'm wrong but the season finale of the upcoming season is simply called Amelia, which may be her name and therefore an episode focusing on her
Holy frick if Bob's Burgers pulls off full drama for an episode it could be kino
Correct me if I'm wrong but the season finale of the upcoming season is simply called Amelia, which may be her name and therefore an episode focusing on her
>Bob's Burgers ends up pulling off bittersweet kino >ends the series on their own terms >final credits roll shows the kids grown with their own families >an aged Bob goes down to restaurant, looks at a family photo taped to the wall, single tear, then gets to work.
It was good, but it wasn't great. It was basically "Wharf Horse" on a fifty million dollar budget.
The movie needed to go bigger. It would have been a good time to tell the backstory of Bob's Burgers from Bob's mom's death to the present, but they didn't have the guts.
Man. I guess here I go to watch the movie. I've been dragging my feet on it because I have no confidence in it.
For fun, here's my opinions on the show before I watch and expectations going in.
>Show started out fun >Voice actors are all pretty great, timing is incredible considering they often record their lines together so they can adlib and have their characters react in real time. The voice acting has always remained the #1 win for this show with Bob often carrying it for me.
>Show has gotten way too "Kid-story heavy" The BEST episodes are just-bob (Thanksgiving, any episode, is a prime example). It's also just fun in general when Bob just loses his fricking mind since he's usually so stoic regarding everyone else's reactions
Linda is very rarely fun these days when she was one of my favs before
Jimmy Jr. is irredeemable at this point for me but at least Linda has vocalized her disapproval for how he is to her. Zeke is best boy (For Tina)
There's just so many god damn new characters sometimes, and other times I feel so stifled by just how many times I have to see the god damn guidance counselor.
>The songs are usually a highlight for me, and even the worst song is still kinda fun, but even I can admit they have had songs that just...don't fricking fit sometimes, to the point I wonder if the songs are coming first and they're writing around them.
Also slightly too much Teddy.
So my expectations are kinda low for the movie. I expect the Bob scenes to be top tier,
I got my bf to agree to watch it with me though. He doesn't care for bob's burgers. He sometimes gets caught watching it if he's passing by and I have it on, mostly if it's Bob because he recognizes the VA from Archer, but he has pretty low opinions, so I'll use him as a litmus test.
Look forward to my next poorly formatted blog

What do you guys think of the Great North? I started watching it a few days ago and it's almost been like a miracle cure to help me fall asleep faster.
Just because FOX gave up on this show, doesn't mean I have to just yet. There's still the teeniest chance it could get a second life on streaming. Don't let the dream die, Duncanbros...
If you look very carefully, you can see some character moving up and down slightly to show they're breathing. I noticed it in the first part of "Not That Evil".
i liked it, best part was seeing an underrated tv show you've watched for years on the big screen.
wish they included this scene in the movie somehow, but i guess it was cut due to fever not being a popular topic in 2020 - 2022?
>Do you like to move your butt? Let’s groove until the fever breaks
This song was honestly extremely catchy, I really do wish they had included it in the movie since they advertised it as a musical but it had like 3 songs
The A-plot of this episode was fun as frick, this show desperately needs more Bob/Fischoeder antics. Also kinda neat that this episode features just about every major player in the movie.
>Post-movie era means we want to take the show to the next level, and take the way we feed the fans to the next level too. Painful for us too, to start with a missed panel. We will keep you fed though.
You best not be pullin' my leg, Bouchard.
>Post-movie era means we want to take the show to the next level, and take the way we feed the fans to the next level too. Painful for us too, to start with a missed panel. We will keep you fed though.
Guess that confirms we'll be seeing the Grand Re-Re-Re-Reopening in the intro from now on
I really liked it, a lot more than I expected to. In terms of “Show: The Movie” movies, it’s pretty much a blueprint on how to do it properly. >Doesn’t shove in a million new characters and keeps the world consistent >Gives each of the mains either a very simple arc or a moment to shine >Stakes aren’t stupid high, but also higher than normal >Main villain is previously established and fit in perfectly.
>Stakes aren’t stupid high, but also higher than normal
I appreciate that second part of your statement. A lot of people claimed this movie "just felt like a regular episode," but the stakes were definitely movie-worthy. Sure, the Belchers have been in deadly situations before, but the main one everyone's reminded of was still a special case: a two-part season finale. And the movie's climax hit even harder, especially with Bob's line about the family "living his nightmare" as they were being buried alive in front of the restaurant. This was a much more personal story than anything the show's done before.
Agreed. Even then Felix might have tried to commit murder, but the movie had the street caving in, an actual murder, being buried alive, and the Blechers stopping both two murders and a giant fire that would have wiped out the Warf. It was just enough stake without it getting stupid.
A “Do not” example of upping stakes in a “Show: The Movie” movie would be Hey Arnold: The Movie. The stakes were way too high to the point that it didn’t even feel in tune at all with the show. Having a random villain pop up to destroy the entire town and the kids becoming spies was way too much for a show simply about urban life.
Why do all of his books read like the most generic things possible?

It was as good as anybody could have reasonably expected.
It would have been better if it didn’t have so many musical numbers but the bobs burgers writers are addicted to music
I noticed more people saying the opposite actually. That the movie could've used MORE musical numbers.
Carnieopolis was such a cool location. Hope we see it again in the show.
>TFW no dancing carny wife
Hey, look at it this way. At least you're not reminded EVERY SINGLE EPISODE that you don't have a Linda in your life. This is a different kind of pain.
it had 2 and one ...like...talk-singing gag reveal from the main bad guy (that was awful). it definitely wasn't a musical but it had 2 musical numbers and they needed one more actual song. Some people hate musicals. Some people love musicals. But, no one, and I mean no one, loves a half-musical.
Sure they do. I hate them and can tolerate a few songs knowing they make people happy... And probably vice versa.
If it had more songs I probably wouldn't have watched it even.
It didn't need more, it just needed songs that sucked less.
No
Lucky ducks needed to be set at the wharf. Carnieopolis was fun location but what the song really needed is a big choreographed dance between all the workers while they're working.
>WORKING HERE CAN REALLY BE A ROLLER COASTER
>They're not at work
Right? But I'm guessing they didn't want the whole movie to be set at the wharf.
I unironically really like the Lucky ducks song

Alls I know is I want Linda's ass planted firmly on my face.
It's only natural to feel this way.
Wew, I don't even remember that line. I must've lost track of how many times Linda's mentioned to her Kegels.
>soft serve machine
How the FRICK is Bob's Burgers not rollin' in the dough?
Wasn't there an episode where the machine broke or something and that's why they never used it at all?
I thought there was just the shark bite that left a visible dent for the rest of the series.
Bob can't market the restaurant for shit; keep in mind they're in a touristy beach town and he doesn't lean into that image.

Except for all the reviews where he says the opposite of that. Look at Edge of Tomorrow where he praises Emily Blunt’s character for being competent without being flawless and out of place.
It sounds like he watched the reviews specifically to hate them.
I try not to expect too much out of Bob's Burgers these days, but it's fair to at least hope for an updated theme song, right??
Just give Mort some actual lines and I'll be content.
>tfw no Marshmallow since The Bleaken
>Season 8
Damn, has it really been that long? With how often both the fandom and the crew like to hype up the character, you would think she'd pop up just a little more often, even as silent cameos.
I think the character got cancelled, but I could very easily be wrong
It was bad
Oh boy here comes the Bob's Sperger
I am proud to say I've been regularly humming the "Lucky Ducks" instrumental for the last 4-5 days now.
This but also with Sunny Side Up Summer and MY BURGER BUNS ARE SHAKING FOR YOUUUUU
NA NA NAAAAA
NA NA NAAAAA
NA NA NAAAAAA NA NA NAAAA NA NA NA NAAA NAAA
the movie was a vertical slice of the entire show. it had a little music, a little of the class commentary, a little of the kids' autism, a little bit of family moments, and had some laughs. it was fine.
there actually is already an episode that has essentially the same plot (with a similar villain even) in the show. it's not a bad thing but the characters haven't grown or gone anywhere.
>it's not a bad thing but the characters haven't grown or gone anywhere.
Boy, you sure did use a lot of words to say, "yes, you're right, the characters absolutely haven't grown or gone anywhere."
i think that's a fair, they didn't want to do anything big, but the stuff you listed doesn't hold up.
What episode(s) did you watch?
Lucky Ducks isn't even as good as some of the product jingles from the show.
Why is Bobs Burgers so good and not woke shit.
EVERY DAY WE COME DOWN STAIRS UNLOCK THE DOOR AND TURN THE SIGN TO OPEN
O P E N
I THINK THAT THIS IS REAL
WHAT I FEEL
AND IF HE COULD COULD FEEL IT TOO
THEN THAT WOULD BE IDEAL
Do I need to be high to get the humor of this cartoon? I don't get it.
I have no idea who that is.
It'll probably premiere on Mother's Day too since it's always a Sunday in May.
>Bob's Burgers ends up pulling off bittersweet kino
>ends the series on their own terms
>final credits roll shows the kids grown with their own families
>an aged Bob goes down to restaurant, looks at a family photo taped to the wall, single tear, then gets to work.
>Burger of the day is The "Home is where the artichoke heart is" burger
Add a moment where his grandkids lock him out of the restaurant.
It was good, but it wasn't great. It was basically "Wharf Horse" on a fifty million dollar budget.
The movie needed to go bigger. It would have been a good time to tell the backstory of Bob's Burgers from Bob's mom's death to the present, but they didn't have the guts.
>The Drinker
Why would I trust a drunk?
Man. I guess here I go to watch the movie. I've been dragging my feet on it because I have no confidence in it.
For fun, here's my opinions on the show before I watch and expectations going in.
>Show started out fun
>Voice actors are all pretty great, timing is incredible considering they often record their lines together so they can adlib and have their characters react in real time.
Cinemaphile PLEASE THESE CAPTCHAS SUCK LET ME GO BACK TO CLICKING ON PICTURES OF CARS AND CROSSWALKS
Grifter
I liked it
Same
What do you guys think of the Great North? I started watching it a few days ago and it's almost been like a miracle cure to help me fall asleep faster.
I had high hopes because the series seemed to have actual plot progression
Then the second season b***hed out on the daughter losing her braces
Yeah that was total bullshit. I bet the majority of the audience streams nowadays, so they probably aren't missing episodes.
At least Wolf and Honeybee are married.
Nah
What's with this format
What format?
PASS THE CRANBERRY SAUCE
I really liked it, i got to take my mom and little sister to see it for my sisters birthday. It was a really good time
>the Bob's Burgers panel was cancelled last-minute
what the frick
who the frick cares about the great north and krapopolis?
Not even a single person.
>no Duncanville
FOX continues to shoot itself in the foot.
Isn't that cancelled?
Just because FOX gave up on this show, doesn't mean I have to just yet. There's still the teeniest chance it could get a second life on streaming. Don't let the dream die, Duncanbros...
One can only hope
If not, I'll keep them alive my God damn self
Do either of you have a mega for season 3, actually? I haven't watched any of it yet
Sometimes you have to klet dreams die, before they turn into nightmares.
oh nonononononono
w-what happened?
>Duncanville dies
>Bob's Burgers MIGHT die soon
>The Great Bore gets to live
It's not fair, bros.
The Great North is one of the most boring shows I’ve seen in a while.
You and me both.
Yes.
That said the critical dinker is fricking cringe and I wish he hated the movie to make it look eve nbetter that it pisses off that incel
https://voca.ro/1cpa0lkA4Epo
I'd like to give Linda a pearl necklace
Huge fan of the show (except for Gene episodes) The movie was really really boring. And the music sucked. Completely unmemorable.
>huge fan of the show
>didn't like the movie
That does not compute.
Shit movie
I liked it well enough.
The character animation was god-tier. I don't think even Central Park was allowed to look this good.
If you look very carefully, you can see some character moving up and down slightly to show they're breathing. I noticed it in the first part of "Not That Evil".
Kristin Schaal confirmed Louigan is canon.
Yeah,
Why won’t you even lie about this?
Got you talking
Goddammit, this thread is making me crave a burger now.
Shows you how bad Bob is at advertising where people want burgers just from talking about them.
you guys, when was the last time you just went out for a walk and stepped into a random mom and pop for lunch, aka a bob's burger type place?
Whwre I live most mom and pop resturants have managaed to franchised out.
i liked it, best part was seeing an underrated tv show you've watched for years on the big screen.
wish they included this scene in the movie somehow, but i guess it was cut due to fever not being a popular topic in 2020 - 2022?
>Do you like to move your butt? Let’s groove until the fever breaks
This song was honestly extremely catchy, I really do wish they had included it in the movie since they advertised it as a musical but it had like 3 songs
Teah, could've been something the blechers did for an end of school assembly.
3 songs and they kind all had the same beat.
yeah replace grover song with butt fever and it's a perfect trio
AND I WANT FOR HIM TO KISS ME AND THEN WALK AWAY SO I CAN SEE WHAT’S SHAKIN’ IN THE BACKSIDE OF HIS PANTS
Look at her gooooo
Just imagine how hard her nipples must be...
Oh it's not her nipples I'm thinking about...
>Hint:it's Rudy's nipples
Zeke's*
Wrong, it's Chloe and Louise's.
The A-plot of this episode was fun as frick, this show desperately needs more Bob/Fischoeder antics. Also kinda neat that this episode features just about every major player in the movie.
That bikini in Louise's speech bubble looks like a mustache

>Post-movie era means we want to take the show to the next level, and take the way we feed the fans to the next level too. Painful for us too, to start with a missed panel. We will keep you fed though.
You best not be pullin' my leg, Bouchard.
>Post-movie era means we want to take the show to the next level, and take the way we feed the fans to the next level too. Painful for us too, to start with a missed panel. We will keep you fed though.
Guess that confirms we'll be seeing the Grand Re-Re-Re-Reopening in the intro from now on
Hope that means occasionally moving away from the status quo.
Fingers crossed
I really liked it, a lot more than I expected to. In terms of “Show: The Movie” movies, it’s pretty much a blueprint on how to do it properly.
>Doesn’t shove in a million new characters and keeps the world consistent
>Gives each of the mains either a very simple arc or a moment to shine
>Stakes aren’t stupid high, but also higher than normal
>Main villain is previously established and fit in perfectly.
Hey Arnold! The Movie was a mistake
YOU'RE a mistake!
