This was the worst film of the trilogy because of how inconsistent it is. It's simultaneously the goofiest, wackiest, campiest film of the trilogy, and also unnecessarily dark. I find it really bizarre how everybody says that this is the best film of the trilogy. Both the Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones had better pacing and weren't anywhere near as cartoonish as Revenge of the Sith. I also hate what George Lucas did with the battle droids, turning them into a gag. Just because they were easy to kill, he thought that it made sense to make them goofier, but they were creepy in their own way in the first two movies. They were like daddy long legs. It's not that they were a serious thread, but the way they look and sound combined with what their purpose was made them uniquely terrifying. That was completely ruined in this film and that stupidly overrated Clone Wars series (the CGI one, not the original series that it replaced, which was actually amazing.)

        >I also hate what George Lucas did with the battle droids, turning them into a gag.
This is an issue when people almost make a parody of what has come before and forget what actually happened. Stormtroopers were treated in a similar way.
        >In ANH Obi Wan points out their tactics in framing the Sandpeople for attacking the Jawas. They purposefully let them escape to track them back to Yavin. So they aren't jobbers.
        >In ESB they successfully attack Hoth and have the Rebels on the run.
        >RotJ, the Ewoks are more a distraction if anything, sure some die but then the music gets sad as the Stormtroopers begin killing a bunch. This is as close as they get to being jobbers but even then they are defeated by other circumstance.
Meanwhile in Bad Batch they have to make a joke every five minutes about conscript Stormtroopers being bad shots for memes because the general audiences think Stormtroopers are silly and bad shots. In TPM when those droids activate against the Gungans or in AotC when they are surrounded in the Arena it feels menacing. But then they have all the dumb cutesy droid lines which is even worse in the cartoons. Deflates all tension.

It was necessary. For a good redemption story, you need the person being redeemed to have been once very reprehensible and evil, and killing children is just that. If all Anakin did was betray the Jedi, then he's just Benedict Arnold. But if he slaughters a bunch of children, he's literally Hitler. It makes for a better story, but it also highlights some logical inconsistencies among the fan base, particularly among the liberal homosexuals who loved the new trilogy and wanted John Boonyega to frick Rey. They claim that Kylo is a bad character, or that he's too evil to be redeemed because "he muh killed a bunch of people" but they don't care that Vader was redeemed after killing literal children.

yeah one of the main things about Christianity is that you have free will, so if you dont believe in this then i guess it wouldnt make sense to you. but i have noticed people reject Christ due to one of two reasons, either they are too arrogant to admit they dont understand something so they say the whole religion is wrong to protect their ego or they literally cant stop cooming and dont want to take any responsibility for their actions

                Anonymous

I don't have to admit anything. Christianity is just another religion of literally thousands, and accepting dogma means shit. Is just a way to control people. Even if there was something to understand, people don't have to understand anything, and the inherent ego that comes from the christians that think that they "understand something" that the rest of people don't, makes them way more egotistical and solipsistic than any other kind of person.

Also, I'm not gonna stop cooming because it feels nice and it doesn't hurt anyone, imo it's way worse to repress yourself and end up raping children due to the insane pressure that you put on yourself to not coom. It helps to remember that the catholic church is one of the most pedophilic institutions on Earth, and it's associates cannot coom, how strange ain't it?

i can tell you are competitive because you view yourself as inferior as people you think are more "moral" than you are, you think you are "losing" so you have to come up with some wacky rationalization of why your not actually "losing". so you say things such as "i like cooming" or "religious people dont actually have any morals". just focus on yourself

It's only a contradiction because you make it one. God's mercy is an infinite ocean of water, but your capacity to accept that mercy is not limitless, and is defined by your own free will. That does not mean the lake is not limitless--it is limitless, but your ability to drink from that lake is limited by yourself, not by God.

                Anonymous

At least you admit the logic works. That your limitations are not God's limitations. That the infinite of his mercy is not invalidated by the finite ability of your will to accept his mercy.

                Anonymous

He created those limitations lol. Either God made huge mistakes or we cannot possibly understand his plans, which would make our existence hell. There is just no way that you can justify God's supposed good actions into a plan for the betterment of humanity. The killing of children is just one of many cases where any logic can't justify why would God allow something as terrible as this to happen. There is no justification, as God doesn't exists in the first place.

There are tons of hadith to the effect that if you make sallah on the prophets name God forgives your sins even if you just said it by accident or by habit

First you need to verify the Hadith, secondly this is in the Quran which overrides any Hadith. Hadith's are not holy scripture. Even if there is one it doesn't mean a particular sin will be forgiven- it could be any. You can't enter paradise on good deeds alone.

No, I mean the case that Palpatine made was so strong and persuasive that it more or less required killing a dozen children as an answer.
Anyone hearing what Palpatine said would feel the same way due to the strength of his arguments and his bold vision for the future.
The entire conversation was in the film I don't know why I'm having trouble remembering the words Palpatine spoke that convinced Anakin to kill a bunch of innocent children he was acquainted with.
Please, if you can remember the most compelling parts of what Palpatine said, the parts that would guarantee your participation in casual infanticide, please reply to this comment with them.
I just can't remember but they must have been there otherwise this whole thing wouldn't make a shit-wipe of sense to anyone.

Have you ever watched a crime movie where after a character commits one crime, rather than accepting the punishment for this crime they commit a series of worse crimes to cover up the initial crime and keep from accepting the responsibility of their actions? Well thats what happens with Anakin once he helps kill Mace Windu.

          1. Tarkin did it. Worst you can accuse Vader of is letting it happen.
          2. It's impersonal. It's bigger in number and scale, true, but it's just a button press and then boom. It's practical and effective, not dirty. Whereas Anakin personally cut those children down with a lightsaber, dismembered them, cut them in half, cut off their heads. Straight up maniac, sadistic shit. Literal 8 year olds. This is unironically irredeemable.

OP is right, him personally doing it is too far. The sand people? Maybe, maybe. But it would have been stronger if he had watched by as stormtroopers did it, cementing the fact that he's a bystander to the rise of the empire and it snuffing out the jedi order. That way his hands are relatively clean, and it reinforces the theme in the later movies that he's something of a weak willed bystander to greater, more evil powers. That his act of courage and redemption is mustering the will to defy such a power at least once when it counts.

It was fricking awful. In the OT Darth is a mysterious tragic villain that was somehow turned to the Dark Side. Then the prequels happened and he's a child killing school saber incel, and it's even worse when it turns out the whole reason he turned was just because the Jedi council wasn't ready to let him be the most important special boy. Anakin is a spoiled lazy c**t, and George is an tone-death bumbler.

    >Lucas repeats the exact same thing with Anakin in TPM but it is a literal Jedi rule.
    >Jedi now are child snatchers and even disliked because of it (like in that episode of Clones Wars).
    >Have Anakin slaughter the children.
    >Weird how so much of the "fall of Anakin" was stuffed in RotS and revolving around Padme for him to go, yup just gotta kill them kids.
    >(Tbf they had him kill all the women and children Tusken Raiders too which was always an odd choice because he admits this to Padme and she doesn't even blink or care.)
    >They then contradict this a bit by having Palpatine actively seeking force sensitive children with the Inquisition in other cartoons/media seemingly wanting them to be coerced and controlled.
Honestly making the Jedi have their main temple on Coruscant right in the heart of all things with little kid trainees was always weird to me. By how it read in ANH I always assumed Obi Wan would have been say in his early 20s and Anakin in his late teens (18/19) and then have trained him as the war breaks out etc etc. I never read the line as "oh yeah you have to be trained right from youth as a Jedi and they practically snatch you from your parents". I more saw it as brave and strong people strong in the force being picked up by wandering warrior monks who travel helping people. The prequels really made the Jedi into "child snatching bureaucrats concerned with politics" rather than wandering monk Samurai/Knights concerned with safeguarding the Republic who were betrayed and killed. Prequels are still a mess of good base ideas but poor execution.

Yeah you're gonna be fricked up from it but at the end of the day you still have your life and can make the best of it and I'm sure there's a number of people that got raped but eventually overcame it and lived great lives.
