The series is much better than the movie. Since it's a longer run time it feels like there's more room to breathe and work on ideas.

David Thewlis is great on everything, even if the movie is shit. Season 3 is my favorite for him and Ewan.
Yes and yes. Re-watched it for the first time a few weeks ago and enjoyed it much more. Seemed like letdown only coming off the heels S2.
S2>S1>S3 but it's more of a 3-way tie. They're all great in their own ways.

Season 3 is the best season of Fargo and one of the best seasons of anything ever. Perhaps my favorite.

Nothing, I love season 1, 2, and 3. I think 3>2>1 though, and season 2 actually has several things in it that I dislike but overall it's so great that I can overlook them.
3 has the best of everything though eeking out just a bit - from writing, acting, characters and storyline and also has the single best episode of the show(episode 8). Incredible show all around, shame about season 4 being such a mess, there's some great stuff in it but ultimately it's way too flawed to even be mentioned alongside the others.
