Because they're targeting adults who remember the original Munsters, not the kids directly. Either they will watch it with their kids or they will be disaffected gen X manchildren (like you) who won't have kids but would therefore have more disposable income to spend on the Funko!Pops.

They still want to think of themselves as left leaning fence sitters smarter than anyone with serious convictions all while the ideology that so smugly assured them they were intelligent dismantles everything they loved and robs them of any security they thought they had. The soccer moms they raged against in their teens and twenties were a fabrication and were never any real threat to the things they enjoyed about life.

Their greatest point of embarrassment comes from how it took their favorite franchises going down in flames for them to finally recognize how rotten the world had become, rather than the real life wealth disparity obfuscated by ethnic conflict that threatens to rob whites of their countries and culture. Belittling and gaslighting people for recognizing patterns and propaganda in media is the left's go-to response so they are programmed to feel even more shame for feeling slighted over their favorite toys being taken from them.

They have no children because they're just so intellectually above that breeder nonsense, caring about the future was for normalgays and they were REAL nerds. The realization that they were just as propagandized as the consumerists they mocked is too much to bear. Their passiveness made them just as useful as the most useful of idiots.

Star Trek has been super progressive and left leaning since it fricking started back in the 60's. It being political isn't the problem, the problem is how poorly modern Star Trek implements its politics. It's all just plain badly written, when the writing used to be one of Star Trek's strongest points.

          Anonymous

90s Star Trek used to at least consider different points of view, that was one of the best things about it. While it would usually come down on the left-leaning side of things you would get characters like Worf, O'Brien, or Quark who were comparatively conservative in certain aspects and who were very well liked by the audience. You don't get that sense of subtlety now, like you said the writing is really the cause of why trek has gone to shit.

The Drum Head is the first that comes to mind. Though it might not be considered left-wing in current year since modern lefties seem like the might have taken the part of the zealous prosecutor.

Do you really need any fricking examples? Watch TNG or TOS, it's very progressive and left-wing and even borders on communism sometimes. I guess the episode with the cryogenically frozen humans from the past is a good example, the rich businessman is treated as some backwards butthole because he cares so much about his money and property (both concepts don't exist anymore).

he's not a villain. capitalism isn't being denounced in this episode, it rather takes a jab at successful businessmen who go overboard with their profiteering and who lose sight of family and human values. the answer isn't socialism, it's technological progress. that's what has eliminated the need for greed.

In Star Trek: First Contact, Picard travels back in time, and ends up explaining that the philosophy of his time period is "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" which is straight from marxist ideology. Whether that's a good or bad thing is up to you, but that's what it was.

it would usually come down on the left-leaning side of things
The episode of TNG where they meet a race of aliens (that are supposed to be super smart because they're adjacent to the Vulcans), and by teleporting infront of these aliens, they make the aliens think they've seen god, and they automatically revert to old customs of bloody sacrifices, etc.

The rest of the episode is Picard explaining to them and to the audience that god doesn't real, in a very patronizing fashion.

What's funny is the very next episode is about a boy who loses his mother, and I half-expected Picard to say "don't worry, boy, there is no heaven. When you die, you just rot in the ground," like what the frick, dude?

I think the best example of even handed political trek is the Voyager episode were they help transport some criminals and one of them is a condemned murderer has some brain problem that makes him a psychopath that they're able to fix it and they want to get him clemency in light of his newfound empathy but ultimately the families his actions have hurt are against it. The B plot is also some alien minority criminal scamming Neelix into thinking he was a gud boi and just a victim of alien racism when he's really just a scumbag who deserves to be there and it's the episode this webm comes from.

Birthright is one of the most right wing things I've ever seen in mainstream sci-fi. Worf finds out klingons and romulans are race mixing at a camp and is disgusted by the physical features. Then in the climax he helps a klingon remember his racial heritage through clothing and song and they are prepared to die to stay unmixed. Fricking wild.

I would say Gen X is doomed universally, not just people that go down this path. Every single one I've spoken to does about as much damage to society as boomers without realizing it and while having the gall to blame the generation before them. Kind of like how my generation ushered in woke shit willingly then blames gen Z for being degenerate. If you never even attempt to stop the decay you are just as guilty as the first generation to make that choice.

In my experience the generation that is most consistently liberal is people born in the late 70s or early 80s.
I think people born in the 90s are more of a mixed bag. Some are the wokest morons of all, but some are just sick of all this shit.

Watching Mike have to face the reality of the joke that is Star Trek is some of the most kino shit I've seen drama-wise. Makes it even better when you realize Rich is a flat-earther who thinks space is fake and is making him watch Picard to show him how stupid it is. Truly a battle of the clowns

The TL;DR is they're a massive, israeli ran corporation that gives pretty much every company in the west tons of money in exchange for demanding they push leftist identity politics at every aspect and level of their operations.
Their goal is the removal of white people from the planet.

I hate how they beep all the swearing now because they're worried about their monetization. They even used to say "c**t" freely in the old episodes now they can't even say "frick" without censoring it.

The original Star Wars prequel reviews did two things; acted as catharsis for fans who found the movies deeply unsatisfying and dull, and introduced a whole generation of YouTube kids to a certain way of criticising movies, from the perspective of screenwriting and direction.

The original reviews *are* good if the humour grates on occasion. The whole YouTube culture they've spawned....yeeeeesh
