All 3 shows got ripped to sheds, in fact Charles Solomon said this about Scott.
>The worst thing you can do in Japan is leach off of foreigners and here we are seeing Science Saru doing the unthinkable, the show is unwatchable at best so I won't bog you too much with it, but in Japanese culture it it a much higher privilege and is significantly better to work for a black company then it is to leach off of foreigners because what you're doing is local and is helping Japan's economy, there has been attempts by Zainichi Koreans to leach off of foreign companies since Korea has done nothing but leach off of others but Japanese locals are too smart to fall for such a awful trick and is instead just telling them to buzz off which is why it has got so bad that even major politicians are begging the country to not touch foreign companies as working for foreign companies are even worse then working for a black company; The sooner that Sanseito or the Conservative Party of Japan takes over the Japanese government or at least Sanae Takaichi becomes Japan's next prime minister the sooner Japan will be out of this hellhole.
The only thing Scott ever did is increase Japan's Japan First policy.
TL;DR: The sooner Sanae Takaichi becomes Japan's prime minister the better.
Film/Animation critic, very huge in the animation industry with a shit ton of power.
Mate, modern Japan only exists because of MacArthur. Everything you might like as a weeb is sourced from Americans and Europeans. Literally everything.

But, can you explain why the japs had such a negative reaction to Science Saru animating Scott Pilgram?
I don't really get how SP would cause a wave of nationalism?

It was building up for years, Scott was just the last straw.

Could you explain why SP was the last straw?
I don't know much about japan, but national outrage over an animation studio animating for a foreign work seems a bit odd.
Especially when I've never heard of it before, the outrage that is.

The show bombed because the IP wasn't of Japanese origin and one thing with anime is that everything must be of local origin, it's why The World Masterpiece Theater died off in the 1990s.
>The outrage that is.
The posts are mostly in Japanese by people who work in the industry.

I can believe that the show bombed due to not being of japanese origin, but all the article says is that. >has no plans for a second season. O'Malley and executive producer BenDavid Grabinski stated in an interview with Rolling Stone that the show is "self-contained for now." >O'Malley further stated that “People are always complaining about how shows get canceled after one season. So we hedged our bets immediately, and tried to make a self-contained one season.”
Looking at the "self-contained for now." It seems more likely to me they'll make a second one eventually, but don't want to commit to anything in an interview, besides Netflix is an american platform and the studio still got paid for their work, so no real reason to cancel.
The outrage being in industry also makes sense to me, it's just industry tribalism after all which is pretty common.
Although I don't agree about the extant of the claims being made up thread.

They don't, they want shows like this, be thankful we still have PreCure.
I don't have a problem with the pseudo anime artstyle, but I understand why some people dislike it.
That said, I struggle to see how using a pseudo anime art style is leeching off of japan, it's not like japan is lessened by foreign anime inspired media.
Don't most studios out source animation to korea anyways?
Also I have no idea who charles solomon is, and this doesn't look like a review for any of the shows posted.
Also this.
https://twitter.com/HashimotoKotoe/status/1754096383991415067 >If you want this nightmare to end make sure Sanae Takaichi becomes Japan's prime minister.
She was Shinzo Abe's successor, she got rejected for China puppet Fumio Kishida because she was going to put Sony-tier censorship on anime and manga.
In fact she's the only member of the LDP thats eligible thats not a Chinese (Taro Kono, Fumio Kishida) or American puppet, it's her or vote for a different party who makes the LDP look like the Japanese Communist Party, namely Sanseito or the Conservative Party of Japan who are getting a shit ton of support as of late.

>because she was going to put Sony-tier censorship on anime and manga.
What kind of censorship?
>$1 million per episode. >$900,000 spent on the voice cast. >Only $100,000 spent on the actual show itself. >Even less then that with in the $100,000 is spent on the actual animation itself.
Really makes you think.
It's been israelite over a decade since this shit became common in western animation, why are you still treating it like this isn't just an accepted style worldwide.
>"oh no, cute brown girls im going insane!!!"
i'd make her spunky
All they did was stole from Disney, Disney of course sued and settled it out of court (they got paid for every episode Luz was in) and this took a year to go through.
>i'm hungry >*pulls a sausage out of my butthole and gives it to you* >no i don't want that >"OOOOH SO FIRST YOU ASKED FOR IT AND NOW YOU CAN'T HANDLE IT"
that's how you sound when you say shit like that
Not only is this a food analogy (A weird one at that) it's also pretty wrong.
It's more like getting what you asked for but more "spicy", but the "spice" isn't a bad thing.
>Not only is this a food analogy
why is that a bad thing? why are people recently so weirdly anal about food analogies? they're used because food is one of the simplest things humans understand
Here's the Tweet in question.
https://twitter.com/HAWKW0RLD/status/1754187203008192651
All the female characters people shitted on are becoming vindicated, and yes, even Amber from Invincible.
Complex? Acting like a BPDemon on her period is complex? Gaslighting Clark to believe he was in the wrong while she was always right is complex? Literally forcing Clark to reveal a secret that he haven't told HIS BEST FRIEND yet because she's selfish is complex? Only having Clark apologize for HIS secret and not her forcing it out of him is complex? The lack of awareness to see her own fault is complex?
Lol.
Lmao.
This is what happens when a character is written by entitled females that have never been told "no" growing up.
The blatant bias against females you have proven to have aside.
This is a big misinterpretation of her character as well as the scene itself. Not to mention that this is what Lois Lane has been for decades now.
So you think OG Lois is complex? I personally don't think she is but I'm not a big fan. As far as I know the old comics didn't have much character development
What exactly makes this new iteration complex? The word keeps getting toss around and nobody not even OP has said what exactly makes them define this cartoon character as complex.
>So you think OG Lois is complex? >What exactly makes this new iteration complex?
Here's what applies to both of them and every other Lois Lane.
They're tough reporters who'll do anything for the truth and for the people, no matter the cause or danger.
Lois is the peak of journalistic ethics. When she has a story she makes sure it is the best it can be, the most truthful it can be.
She's a hero in her own right by protecting the people and fighting against evil in her own way. This is why Superman loves her.
But she's also crazy as she puts herself and others (Mostly Jimmy) in danger to achieve her goals and doesn't always think things through, but her pride keeps her from admitting when she messes up and never learns from her mistakes causing a cycle of her schemes getting out of hand, one that is inadvertently encouraged by Superman himself as Lois being under his protection has made her too comfortable around danger.
But the thing about Lois is that even when things go wrong her need for truth and justice always prevails.
When it comes to MAWS Lois specifically there's another layer to her as she grew up with trauma and trust issues from her dad as he would always lie to her about the safety of her mom causing her to hurt more when her mom eventually dies. Her dad has instilled a strong belief of how lying is bad into her at a young age that stuck and now she's emotional over lies being told to her as it brings her back to her mom, especially lies about the health and safety of those she cares about.
But the thing is that Lois lies herself, she hates liars yet she thinks her dream can only be achieved through lying.
It's a contradiction in her character that she learns to grow out of as her promise to never lie to her friends as well as seeing how bad the lies of Vicki Vale are makes her grow into the peak of journalistic ethics that every Lois is known for as what gets her to her dream job is her writing a truthful article on how great Superman is.
More Complex =/= Math-Olympian Complex
A very simple concept that knuckledragging Cinemaphileners can't get, I guess? The show isn't trying to be a Fahrenheit 451. It's just trying to have a little drama between Lois and Clark working out their relationship and whatever trust issues/character flaws may exist. For both of them.
And yes a person being right but also acting out irresponsibly is generally a complex topic that asks the viewer to balance their empathy with their personal reservations.
i hate the psuedo anime style shit
AND I HATE YOU homosexual!
You have no idea how bad things are going to be in the future.

No, you haven't, it's only in Cinemaphile's have mind that praised it, normies and every other anime site hated it.
You're taking the opinions of some weebs on a few no name sites at face value now?
>open up Japan why won't you join our global animation industry nip goy?
Probably because they'd have to stop working their drawgays to death.
The anime industry does not work like that.
In fact Japan does not work like that.
And Science Saru got shat on and ripped apart from it.
All it did was make Japan's Japan First agenda go into hyperdrive.

It's weird to think that her Dad probably shot blacks from a convenience store roof in the LA riots.
Fixed.
Why’d they change his race? Could’ve kept him white and have Lois’ mom be the Korean one. The dude’s military and probably met her there.
Luz, and it's the only way to get funding in this day of age.
Just be glade Disney sued.
MAWS Lois Lane has been the most Lois Lane she has ever been but overly sensitive casuals can't handle a woman like the 1900s can.
Thats not Lois, thats Luz from The Owl House.
Remember all the b***hing about her not having big enough breasts when the show was announced?
Never happen, the b***hing was about Warner Bros stealing Luz's design and Disney suing as a result.
Why didn't you give me all your secrets afters 2 weeks of friendship
She's literally just a tomboy beaner
Actually she's Korean.
>complex
Cinemaphile has two digit IQ.
Having parental issues is considered complex now?
I’ll handle her

Show was fine up until they pretended Clark was the only one in the wrong.
You're acting like that was the first time Lois ever jumped off a building to make Clark prove he was Superman.
Stop being illiterate
Except they didn't. The only time this is true is when he and Lois ditched Jimmy, everything else was more nuanced.
