You could maybe, and not unreasonably expect a superhero origin movie to not have the characters finally suit up in their costumes until the second half of the movie, maybe even not until the final act, but having it be something that doesn't actually take place during the present day parts of the movie, just something we're brief glimpses of in visions of the future, that was certainly a choice. A stupid choice.
