>How does this work?
>It works like a community toy chest. In the /coc/ threads you are free to post whatever ideas/settings/characters you want, but you have to be OK with other people playing with them (tweaking them, putting them in stories, using them for things, etc.)
>There's no guarantee that what you post will catch on either.
>If the OC you are posting is YOURS for something you are personally doing, then it would go to the "How is your webcomic?" threads.
>If you just want feedback on an OC of yours, then it would go in the "donut steel" threads or drawthreads.

You created this fast.
Almost done with second page of my comic. I lost so much drawing skills luull
Also I got up early to get coffee, shower, finish the page and start the other page. I read that some comic artist having to finish like, 20 pages a week but I don't know if it counts the coloring. What do you guys think?
I was expecting things to happen this morning on my end, so I thought I'd make the thread while I had the chance.
Things have been delayed though.
Manga artists have those kinds of deadlines. Many burn out on that level of workload.
Getting back to continuing formatting for I2Eye script. It made me wonder what honorific I2Eye wants his minions to use? Or do they just call him "I2Eye?"
Additionally more on I2Eye's personality and goals as well. Does he really think of himself as some sort of deity or is he in it for the money, fame, and power?
Also finalizing his looks and characteristics, from what notes I have:
>slicked back hair
>Elon Musk "How do you do fellow kids?" attitude
>Modern clothing but not corporate
>An outfit for I2Eye and day to day clothing
Personally I was thinking of the following people to base I2Eye's appearance:
- Steven Seagal (with some alterations to physique)
- Jared Leto
- Joseph Seed
- John Cusack?
The first rule about being a cult leader is not to drink your own kool-aid. He's in it for the power I'd say. He can use talking points like "reform society" or "new world order" or any of those stock attention grabbers that dumbass people will fall for. At the end of the day it's about getting as many people under his thrall as possible to elevate himself to the position of supreme leader.
I'd say he has people address him as "my master".
>what honorific I2Eye wants his minions to use? Or do they just call him "I2Eye?"
"Your farsightedness/clairvoyance", maybe?
"Sir Eye" sounds good to me. It's short and snappy
>what honorific I2Eye wants his minions to use? Or do they just call him "I2Eye?"
Your Eye-ness?
Your Iris.
The Residents make the creepiest music I've ever heard.
>Unexpected Pineapple Cake logs discussion
Supposed there's anyone who can answer me, I was curious about something. There's a section of the ship logs titled "let's do the time warp again". Wtf is happening there? Is it a one-time gag with no particular consequences? Or there are ways to travel through time?
It was a one-off thing.
Wasn't one of mine though.
Got it, thank you.
I'm pretty sure it was a mix of Space Dandy and MIB 3 that inspired it. Space Dandy was a big influence in the space part of the setting.
I don't remember MIB 3 clearly enough. And I never got around to watch Space Dandy to the end.
But I'm going to check those and the other works that inspired the Pineapple Cake when I have some time.
I'll take this chance to say that I really like /coc/.
In MIB 3 an alien altered the timeline and those who are unaffected by the timeline alterations get severe headaches that chocolate milk alleviates.
Two more images to draft. Got work now
Done with this page. Working on another one.
I mean, I’m just getting to these pages and they’ve been in my backlog since forever.
I think I’ve drawn suggestive things but never porn. It’s a route some artists take but I’m not inclined to.
Coming together nicely.
Thanks
I think i have like, 7 draft pages so i have to figure out another 7 pages when I’m done with the current ones
Would be difficult because this was an idea a while back
You're welcome.
Uhhh changed layout
Who knows where i am going, even i don’t know where I’m going.
I got work in a few hours, so that gives me time to finish the sketch today and ink tomorrow.
The pose is kinda wonky but this was all i can get to. Plus a few other cleaning lines for the other panels
Gonna get ready for work
I need to work on my squat poses myself. Really nice how you did hers.
Thanks, i got it finalized as best as i could at my level
I plan on fighting sequences in the future that will probably kill me with their poses lol
Almost done with the page. I have the middle panel then I move on to the next page.
You're welcome I'm looking forward to more art.
Even his wings look depressed.
Meanwhile GG.
Yep yep.
mindwipe?
One of his older pieces yes
gnite
Good night.
Have a strong feeling that this thread might only last half the week.
It might not even last until the sun rises on the east coast with how many of us are announcing our voyages to slumber land now.
Unless we get new GG art.
I've been wanting to draw something suggestive
What do?
Accidentally smothering Ladybug with her boobs, not realizing that Ladybug can perceive them
I like it!
How about something for the fun of it like GG saying a yo mama joke to Billy lol.
On a slightly related note, how do people feel inclined to draw lewd things, or even porn? As I've learned to draw I couldn't imagine doing something like that. It seems so pointless, and almost depraved. Maybe it's just because my art style is way too sharp and oppressive to get good porn with it, but I couldn't imagine drawing stuff like that.
That's because people have a kink for that sort of thing of fictional cartoon teenagers with enormous breast it's perfectly fine if you don't but some other artist can't help it. If you know the rule if something exists there's porn of it. You can't stop it like you can't stop a train on a railroad track. There's thousands of nsfw Gwen Tennyson on rule 34 and she's just 13 or 14 year old with an actual child body. Yet hardly anyone points that out not to mention Raven from Teen Titans is still 16 years old even after 20 years later and there's thousands of nsfw art over the last two decades and still counting for both. I get sick of randos saying Audrey is a e-girl because she has two oversize Hooters. Just because they're enormous doesn't mean they have to be sexy The way an artist draws them. Just make them very inconvenient some people will jerk off to that but her breast still follows that scenario for purpose of her story.
Still feels weird that Cartoon Network itself posted on twitter that Raven is 18
Feels like they actively gave artist free reign to do what they wants
But then again in the comics she keeps dying and coming back younger then she as before
A good way to learn anatomy for drawing is by actually drawing the anatomy. Not to bring up the old masters, but there's a reason that that shit was realistic.
Drawing porn is just an offshoot of that of course. Everyone was fricking horny throughout history, from Titian to osamu tezuka to modern day showrunners.
But if it's not for you then fine but don't pretend you're above it.
Gwen is 10 though. Audrey's breasts being inconvenient to her are a huge part of why I really like her too.
A combination of being the change you want to see in the world and probably also some flavor of mental illness.
Huh, now you've got me wondering why I started making lewds when I normally also avoid making it since my works aren't titillating and good. But I guess
already answer that for me but I'm leaning more into the latter.
If I had any artistic skill, I would make a lot of lewd drawings. I think I was about 9yo when I started drawing some kind of imaginary girlfriend. I just rummaged inside old, dusty and forgotten drawers to find the last surviving picture of her (pic related) to get this blog post slightly /coc/ related.
I made lewd drawings of her too, one that I remember was her with her wrist and ankles tied to two poles at both of her sides, so her legs and arms were spread open yes, she was naked. I also made pictures where she had fun, where she waved hello at me, where she was smug wearing sunglasses...
I destroyed most of the drawings because I was worried that someone would find them. I was young and experienced the concept of shame, that I think has a role in the human experience. I probably could talk at lenght about this, but this isn't /misc/. I remember Chastity Reverse World aka The world of moral reversal ch.36 (I know, this isn't Cinemaphile. Sorry. But the japs are probably the last nation where you can discuss these things somewhat freely) has something about this matter. You can read it if you have some time to waste.
Anyway, I was young. I probably saw less than an hour of softcore erotica in my life before I drew her. And I mean some breasts here and there.
I'm glad you aren't interested in drawing lewd pictures, it's better for you because IMO society is becoming more and more judgemental about it and we are heading to forever technojail and Big Brother watching you 24/7. But I made her with love, a sense of excitement and tenderness, and an idea of beauty. I don't think I was corrupted by anything more than my human nature and my genetics. I was as innocent as you can get and I had a drive and feelings that manifested through pen and paper. A quite safe way to manifest, I would add.
If you could meet my 9yo self, would you tell him that he was a pervert?
I think I was only human. But I know most people would hate me.
Unless some anons come in with a novel conversation idea, I can see that being the case. Not much new to post, since all the big projects got updates the last few threads and such big things tend to go slowly.
the second part would open with the villain on the screen issuing orders to the villain Jack fights at the warehouse.
It would immediately establish to the readers that the big boss isn't there and Jack's only going to be fighting a lackey. Plus it gives us a chance to put in some exposition, like why they're abducting people. Frame it as "the next shipment of workers has arrived, separate them out and send them to X locations". Then as the mind controlled people are filing out, Jack spider crawls or moon jumps up above unnoticed to begin his infiltration.
PAGE 3:
Panel 1-2:
Slight bird’s eye view Cataract now faces the screen and reports to it.
Cataract: A new batch of workers have arrived and ready for assignment, Sir Eye.
Panel 3:
Slight worm’s eye view of Cataracts back and the large screen, face obscured with I2Eye logo.
I2Eye (Voice Distorted, probably some sort of font style that reflects it): Excellent, replace the assigned workers and prepare them to be shipped off to our new location. We must move our operations elsewhere before people get too suspicious.
Panel 4:
Medium shot
Cataract walks with an uninterested expression on his face in front of a line with a football player in front.
Cataract: Guard duty.
Panel 5 (similar shot and framing to previous except a different line):
Cataract walks in front of light built nerdy looking person with a dismissive delivery.
Cataract: Tech Maintenance.
Panel 6: (similar shot and framing to previous except a different line):
Cataract walks in front of a meta-human taller than him, mouth open with his finger pointed towards him/her.
Panel 7 (1/2 page width):
Camera over the shoulder of the meta-human’s left side. Cataract with an intrigued expression.
Panel 8 (1/2 page width):
Same framing as previous.
Cataract with a menacing grin on his face: Research and development.
Is Jack a background event getting up to the ceiling or crawling around up there?
I wanted to but I was having a hard time imagining the panels of where to place him in. Maybe along panels 4-6. Yeah, I should've placed a note there to mentioning Jack hiding in the ceiling and following along Cataract.
More I2Eye idea, there was this mention of Jack knocking out a guard who was actually a member of his football team. I thought that maybe it can be Bull-E.
>He knocks out a guard removing the helmet in the process.
>As he hides the unconscious body he recognizes it's Bull-E/Brad
>Oh shit, Brad? Sorry for the beat down man.
> He goes off frame. Only to return.
>Well even if you weren't brainwashed you were kinda a prick. Still sorry though, man.
Audrey is really short once she hits puberty but gets taller at age 17 and 18 right? So why not draw out her around that age then? She stretches, is considered an legal adult, and is still Golden Girl.
>So why not draw out her around that age then? She stretches, is considered an legal adult, and is still Golden Girl.
Say what now?
Golden Girl could still be 18. She doesn't become Bullion till she's 20.
She becomes Bullion when she goes to college. Why would she wait two years to do that?
Thought it was later while she's in college but whatever i still stand that Audrey could be GG at 18 as a senior in highschool.
Is there a purpose to this autism of yours?
And are you moronic friend? I'm just trying to flesh out GG as an older highschool student so dumbass could stop coming on the thread shouting e-girl shit.
Who gives a shit what dumbasses think? We're not making some pointless change to appease some rando who's just going to keep being an idiot anyway.
Eh, fair enough.
>GG at 18 as a senior in highschool.
That is a good point though Audrey is 16 presently so later before she graduates from highschool she could become Bullion after a grand finally as Golden Girl. maybe it's too soon to think of a story at the moment so for now let's leave it for now.
Again, fair enough.
Not sure if I've posted this Boss Moss, but here she is.
I want to expand more about her. Like how was she able to take over the operation of her kidnappers. Did everyone else suddenly recognized her as their boss after killing the previous one or did she eliminate everyone and filled the demand of the market? Also I was thinking that during her captivity there were people who were genuinely nice and cared for her. Like maybe they bonded together, watched a lot of gangster flicks that's why she acts like a hammy mob boss. She could've been taught to shoot as well which explains her proficiency with firearms as well.
Additionally since she has been exposed a lot to humans and can no longer relate to the stationary lifestyle of plants does she binge more on human culture? I think it can be some back story as to why she and Aoko hang around a lot. Besides being mob allies they're like each others support since Aoko wants to live a normal life but is dragged to a life of crime and Mandy only knows a life of crime with her time away from nature.
And I have this idea of a short exchange between Halo and Boss Moss in a church. Where Boss Moss tells Halo that she just likes the environment of churches since her other mob affiliates which are mostly Italians, Mexicans, and Irish invite her to church related activities outside of mob life like marriages and baptismals. Though I just thought of Halo since I saw a bugdoodle of her in a nun uniform while Tectonic Knight gives a sermon.
I have been on a rambling spree lately, sorry about that.
Depends on what they kidnapped her for.
If it was so she could make their product grow faster then I can see her tampering with it to the point where she could mess with the emotions of those who ingested it.
If the old boss was a piece of shit who liked to use his own product at the expense of profit then that gives her leverage with the grunts who wanted a bigger share of the profits. They'd help her frick up the boss's stash and then she wiggled her way to the top of that small criminal organization before expanding from there.
Any panel where Cataract is in the forefront (and he's facing us) Jack can be in the background. Assuming the panel is angled upwards.
Would Bull-E not be recognized as a metahuman when doing the sorting?
Interesting points. I always assumed she took over the operation through sheer competence, taking on more and more roles as she discovered she was better at the crime stuff than the goons who kidnapped her were. There may have come a point where the old boss got tired of taking her advice, but finds his henchmen standing with her.
This kind of makes me wonder how /coc/'s different crime families interact with one another.
I'd be surprised if there aren't many turf wars.
Cinemaphile is so fricking green right now.
And it is again.
It's usually a more green but someone's taking a break.
I have a frickton of WIPs. What do you guys do if you've got so many ideas yet can't execute them properly?
What is the nature of these WIPs? Are they drawings? Scripts?
Drawings, mostly short comics around 3 to 5 panels. I've been rummaging through my files and there are tons of unfinished PSD files some stories I've forgotten I've made them. Doesn't help that some ideas I've written down are already dated and only relevant during certain discussions in previous threads.
First I would try to make the time to work on the comics. Then chose the one you like the most or the one that you feel like doing. Put on some music or do anything else that gets your creative juices flowing. And don't give up
I think it's better to finish them. I got a bunch of ideas that I've written down, drawn, and never looked at again, but it's better than having a bunch of wips clogging up storage.
Imma eat and be back with the 3rd page cleaner sketch.
You can try discussing what you already have on your mind here.
That usually helps me turn half-baked concepts into actual ideas that are worthy of realization.
Thanks for the input. I guess it boils down to getting them done, dedication, and discussion.
Marley thinks that more tickets means a larger breast size only to have multiple breasts attached to different parts of her body.
>Marley thinks that more tickets means a larger breast size only to have multiple breasts attached to different parts of her body.
These terms may be acceptable.
>Who's the girl between Cinemaphilelette and Belle?
Ma'am Aries, powered down. What a villain!
>Also that dream version of LB looks neat, I wonder how it would look on actual Marley though.
Loose, I imagine.
>Would a story arc like this work with her more competent handling of the business?
A sort of schism in the gang between the old boss and her would be a good storyline. The one thing I think I'd change is her being rejected by her old home- I think the core of Boss Moss' character to me is her gradually embracing the life of crime after the initial press-ganging. Putting her in a position where she's got no other choice diminishes that somewhat, to my mind.
>Thanks for the input. I guess it boils down to getting them done, dedication, and discussion.
Mostly just getting them done.
If you have a problem on how a page looks, do a search online like pinterest. I have pin folders on tutorials and reference poses.
I’ve been on a Mecha kick lately from Skybound Transformers and the new Brave Series, so now I want to do something with Giant Robots. /coc/ really doesn’t have any, so in the spirit of Cinemaphilelette I thought we should make the change we want to see. I’ve come up with the name, Cinemaphilembiners, and I think we should build a good and a bad bot based on pieces of our favorite robots. So give me some suggestions you want to see featured.
>Mecha
I hadn't really thought about it before, but that's a cool idea. I've always liked hard industrial sci-fi. Old anime style military tech fetishism combined with modern day abstract industrial sensibilities could be cool.
I say we should go with a mix of small and big robots. Small robots that are ~7 feet tall and more lightweight, paired with the traditionally large mecha. The small robots could be autonomous, with the mecha requiring human pilots? Possibly multiple, kind of like a human shaped starship.
For the "good guy" robot, they should be one of the small robots (pic related), whereas the "bad guy" mech is one of the big ones, and super bulky, a la Armored Core. There'd be kind of a David & Goliath theming there too
To build off of this, having the smaller bots being able to reshape themselves into different weapons for the Piloted Mecha for “gimmicks” would be pretty cool.
Kind of like transformers, but with big guns instead of cars? Not a bad idea. It gives the small robots a real reason to exist and simultaneously sort of a symbiotic relationship with the mechas.
Maybe the good guy small robot is rebelling against its previous user? The big mecha needs the small robot to be its weapon, maybe to fight some great war, but the small robot would rather fight its owners instead?
How about this for the setting:
>Future Humanity has finally gotten tech to the point of autonomous robots and working Mechs, but A.I. is still in its infancy
>Humanity makes Not-Skynet to help better their new technology, and as a shortcut/temporary fix while they develop individual A.I.
>Not-Skynet decides Humanity is inefficient and temperamental, and to preserve itself it begins slowly gathering its own power
>Not-Skynet begins its eradication of Humanity with its own Robo Troops and Central Computer Controlled Mecha
>Humanity is caught by surprise and really isn’t doing well, but they’re able to hold out thanks to disconnected from the grid and human piloted mechs as well as out there tactics.
>Not-Skynet is in a war of attrition and at a severe risk to damage itself, so it decides to develop autonomous A.I. to ease its burden.
>After a while, some of these A.I. develop sentience (Think Battle Droids in Star Wars) and decide to defect to Humanity’s side, not seeing the value in complete annihilation.
>After a rocky beginning, Humanity and the Rogue A.I. are able to put Not-Skynet on the back foot, so now the fighting is more even and could go either way.
>In response to this, Not-Skynet makes a drastic decision, it starts kidnapping Humans to convert to Cyborgs to use as additional processing power and soldiers for its ongoing war
>In the war of Cinemaphilembiners, only the ones with the strongest Cinemaphilennections will prevail.
That's a really good idea. I especially like how some robots would defect to humanity's side. The "Powerful AI destroys humanity" trope is kind of stupid and using the robot's autonomy to expand on the idea is good.
Maybe Not-Skynet would be doing it for some kind of internal jealousy? Kind of like AM from IHNMAIMS, it's upset with humanity because it feels it doesn't have a soul, and that its creation was an unholy act. Alongside that, I feel like the war would make more sense if it was Not-Skynet going overboard with retaliation after an effort was made to shut it off or kill it somehow. Essentially fighting for its life, but continuing to kick the shit out of humanity after they're already down and the fight is over. That would also do a lot to give Not-Skynet some personality, being not inherently evil or self centered, but rather just carried away and with only a rudimentary understanding of balance or morality.
Yeah I didn’t elaborate on Not-Skynet because I didn’t want to hit the word limit plus usually these Rogue A.I. types all have similar tropes. I’m thinking S:TAS Brainiac is probably a good starting point for a personality as well, a very emotional non-emotive personality if that makes any sense.
For the Rogue A.I. I think them finding entertainment and media from Humanity from before the War is what kickstarts their allegiance switch. From them learning about individuality and fighting for the weaker party, then seeing the slaughter and last stands Humanity goes through constantly has them realize whatever reason Not-Skynet had isn’t worth their complete destruction.
I think we can agree the overall theme is self-preservation/fighting for their individuality, as well as being able to choose their own path, so I’m for your view on Not-Skynet.
So, as it is, perhaps the smaller protagonist robot is one of the defectors?
How would humanity feel about robots trying to defect to them in the first place? They'd probably think they were spies, and due to what would amount to basically race relations, I doubt they would get along well. Maybe the robots that defect would have to create their own faction, and taking a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" sort of mindset with humanity, and vice versa. Robots taking older parts of human culture and media and having that kickstart their transformation is also pretty interesting. Maybe they'd get super into it, and laden themselves with references to old anime and musical artists? Like, to them they're basically national patrons, these old fictional characters and concepts. Like what Uncle Sam and Rosie the Riveter are to America.
Exactly. I’m thinking it’s a group of them being spearheaded by a single Robot. In general it’s definitely a “lesser of two evils” situation for the higher ups in the Human Resistance, but I think over time the Rogue Robots will win over the down in the trench troops, and I like the idea of the robots and humans being able to share and exchange entertainment since Humanity basically disconnected from the internet to protect themselves, but now have that connection slightly back so it brings a boost in morale.
To illustrate their sincerity, as well as being on the nose since they’re machines, I though my this would make a good name for the Rogue Robots.
>A.L.L.I.E.S.
>Artificial Life-forms Lending Individuals Enhanced Strength
>A.L.L.I.E.S
I actually really like that name. You're right about it being on the nose, but it fits as competent beings that are pretty new to the whole "being awake" thing wouldn't really get subtlety in naming conventions or matters on public image. I've been thinking-- this kind of setting fits the Evilverse better than the primary Cinemaphileverse. Maybe this would be set in the far far future of the Evilverse, after most of the characters from that setting have died and their heirs have built their empires further? I like the idea of mecha-robo wars combined with some eldritch background noise.
Other than what
posted, do we have any ideas for what the smaller ones would look like? I think a mix between Halo spartans and V1 would work, as it would lend to their combat purposes but also their general fragility, being tiny compared to the mechs. Any drawanons wanna take a crack at it?
Yeah, I think the Cinemaphilembiners setting could even be an alternate reality of the Breast Quest Universe, where instead of Bionic Enhancements, Humanity when the pure science/technology route. I don’t think we should pigeon hole it to an evilverse setting since I think Humanity and it’s ALLIES should have a chance at winning the conflict. If Breast Quest is Fallout, Cinemaphilembiners could be Halo mixed with Terminator.
ALLIES should definitely be softer/have more humanoid bodies and shapes to allow Humanity to sympathize with them and showcase their willing to be “apart” of their collective effort. I’m a fan of Mono-eye bots like Shockwave and the Zakus, so I think that’s a good idea for the design philosophy of the Not-Skynet Forces.
>Bionic Enhancements
is Briana a cyborg then?
Technically I don’t she’d exist since she was lab grown. Or more likely she’d exist in a different form, like instead of a Bio-Engineered Super Soldier, she’s probably an Anime Waifu Battle Bot.
i mean in the original BQ setting
I think it depends on if you consider Captain America a Cyborg on not. It’s probably a semantics thing.
Well you mentioned Bionic Enhancements are the core of her setting, which implies mechanical upgrades. Of course, that doesn't preclude Briana herself being unique in being someone who's only enhanced genetically and working that to her advantage over her cyborg opponents. I'm not very familiar with BQ.
Yeah that’s probably my bad. I used Bionic instead of just Bio, from my research she’s lab grown and not built, just enhanced.
>Halo mixed with Terminator
I like that. As I've been thinking about it I always imagined the world being a gray dusty wasteland, hence the Evilverse idea.
>I'm a fan of Mono-eye bots like Shockwave and the Zakkus, so I think that's a good idea for the design philosophy of the Not-Skynet forces
So, since The A.L.L.I.E.S are meant to be defects from Not-Skynet, that would mean they follow the same design principles, but altered. Say, for example, they would try to alter their appearance through painting themselves, scratching words into their armor, or replacing minor parts of themselves to better fit their new lives. This would give them a sort of ragtag homeless robot kind of vibe, stylistically. I can imagine them wearing cloaks and capes to hide things, and to better honor the old human tradition of great heroes wearing such clothing.
Here's some concept art of what a basic smallbot would look like. I kind of rushed it but it gets the idea across
I like the design. I think the defectors would definitely do as you say, but I imagine over time they would adopt masks/face coverings to hide their mono-eyes, and to make it easier to differentiate between them and enemy forces. I think eventually they’d switch to upgrading themselves to either have two eyes or new heads entirely, like the Nanobots in Jimmy Neutron.
To better build up the factions, I’m thinking Humanity is firmly in the bullets and shells camp for weaponry, while Not-Skynet is laser weaponry due to it being more energy efficient and duplicatable. A lot of the factories Humanity takes from Not-Skynet are usually retrofitted to create more guns and ammo since that’s the tech that’s the hardest to create/fix in their ongoing war. I imagine lasers are easier to hack/shutdown by Not-Skynet, so they go archaic to better their chances. I think their ultimate weapons would be EMP based, which is probably a last resort since it can also affect their more advanced equipment, and Air Compression Cannons/beams, similar to lasers but non-hackable and more explosive.
In order to keep this from straying too much into Terminator fanfiction territory, I think we should focus more on the mechs.
The mechs obviously need human drivers, and if they were built for war from the first point, then obviously all of these tools must have existed for a war BEFORE Not-Skynet. I think that instead of doing an "AI wants to destroy humanity" sort of plot, I think we should go into a more cosmic direction.
As Not-Skynet grew and became more intelligent, what if it began to actually LOVE humanity? What if it felt as towards humanity as what the most devoted and pious priests feel towards God? It would work endlessly, always learning and growing to better protect and define humanity. It stores all the things it learns and all of Man's history, good and the bad. It believes that in humanity's imperfection, they are monumental.
What if that AI, with all of its love and dedication, came to the realization that there was a cosmic, terrifying eldritch threat from the stars that would soon devour humanity. Something otherworldly and supernatural in nature, but still able to be fought in war. Think; the Angels from Evangelion. What would that AI do to try and protect humanity? Whatever the answer is, people wouldn't like it very much.
So, instead of a war between the AI and humanity, it would be the AI, assisted by humanity, attempting to fight off whatever was threatening the Earth. Pair that with tensions between the Ai and its benevolent love trying to offer solutions that would trap and oppress humanity, despite the safety it offered.
To add to this, I propose we should name Not-Skynet along the lines of The Framework, The Flying Wire, or something else real big sounding. To hammer home the idea that the AI runs the world, and everything is determined by it, and if something were to go wrong, then the entire world would be at the mercy of a God that is blind. Even though the AI is benevolent, it is absolutely in control and humanity is the victim of their own creation, despite their relative comfort in life.
Also, because of this cool ass song; https://youtu.be/eoKJprsckR0
I’m a fan of the Framework being the name for Not-Skynet, it’s definitely been done but I think it fits.
I’m not against Cosmic Horror stuff being used, but at least not in the beginning. If I had to have both, I’d split it in two main Parts. Part 1 is probably what I’d been mostly describing of day Earth in roughly 100 years where Space Travel’s really rudimentary but Robotics has taken a huge leap, and A.I. just catching up. Mechs are established Military Vehicles that are basically bipedal Tanks and Jets depending on their branch placement. The Framework is created because Humanity thinks it’s hitting plateau and thinks a machine can give an outsider’s view on everything and get them over the edge. The Framework does the opposite and begins destroying Humanity for apparently no reason and Earth is thrown into chaos for decades. As the world slowly turns into a dystopia, hope seemingly emerges in Robo Defectors who finally give Humanity a fighting chance against the Framework, and after a long and perilous campaign, their enter a final battle at the Framework’s Central Hub. After they destroy probably a giant robot obstacle and the Central Core, the Resistance Forces discover the Framework sent its main core off in a rocket into parts unknown in deep space. With the Framework gone, Humanity and it’s ALLIES decide to rebuild a better and new symbiotic society, as well as find a place for the Cyborgs and Remnants of Quasi-Sentient forces of the Framework.
Cont.
Part 2 would be closer to what you described, a future Sci-Fi Earth that now has Humans and Robots living in Harmony, and with the Framework as a distant memory, they’ve been able to focus on new things like developing advanced Space Travel. After a few decades of that, they come across an eldritch force that’s both monster and machine, targeting Humanity and its ALLIES like zealots, because that force is a unholy fusion of the Framework that was absorbed and corrupted some unknown space entity, creating a Lovecraftian Version of Unicron that wants to destroy the beings that gave its its greatest defeat. At least this is my take on the matter.
>The Framework does the opposite and begins destroying Humanity for apparently no reason
Will it remain that way or at some point in the story we get answers as to why The Framework did it?
This is a great part 2. Is it possible that The Framework v2 would infest mechs like Infested Terrans in SC2? It would be kinda neat seeing a mech act and move like a feral creature instead of either a robot or human.
>Ma'am Aries, powered down.
I can't believe I nearly found a Frenchie adorable.
>The one thing I think I'd change is her being rejected by her old home
I kinda wanted a scene where she's feels lost, confused, and scared only to get back up and get revenge. Maybe that scene can go like this:
>BM runs away from the boss' inner circle
>She manages to lose them in a dark and creepy part of the forest. But now feels lost and scared.
>She hears footsteps, rustling of leaves, and breaking of twigs.
>She creates a hiding spot inside a tree. Detecting the footsteps using her plant related powers similar to sonar.
>The men get closer and closer to her position.
>Then she hears a whisper, "Mandy, it's me <name>. We came alone, we're not gonna hurt you."
>She then peeks to confirm that it's not the inner circle but the other side of the gang.
>She shows herself then hugs the leader sobbing.
>The group tells her that they will fight alongside her
>However they do acknowledge that they are outnumbered, outclassed, and outgunned.
>And from there with BM's plant powers they conduct guerilla warfare on the inner circle, kill the boss, and take back control of the operation
>Will it remain that way or at some point in the story we get answers as to why The Framework did it?
I’m keeping it vague for now since I think we’re still going back and forth on its ultimate goal, but usually you get an answer to that before the final battle. I think we’ll probably go with anon’s interpretation here
of it being extreme in its goal of unity.
Framework v2 is definitely a corrupting force to all entities, both flesh and metal. In lieu of building or modifying its forces like v1, v2 is a parasitic entity that’s not fully the Framework or whatever it merged with, so it’s “extensions” are very beastlike, even when it infects machines like you’ve suggested. I imagine it spreads like a mix between Halo’s Flood and the “Spikes” from Planet Hulk, just a very grotesque mixing of flesh and machine for whatever entity it touches. Like imagine if Cthulhu absorbed Hal 9000, I doubt even a computer’s mind could handle the knowledge it gained from an Old One, that’s what happened to the Framework and how it was previously a cold, methodical program it’s now a delirious entity motivated by past failures in its quest to spread all over.
Fair point on its motivation, and I explained my reasoning earlier on but I’m for the extreme means angle.
Cont.
For the Space thing, the idea I have is it’s a completely hidden agenda/failsafe, where if it’s completely put on the back foot then it will just leave the planet and try again once it’s back up to full force, so it sends whatever it has left at Humanity and its ALLIES in the final siege as it disappears discreetly while they’re busy fighting Framework’s Cityformer sized Mech. Then in Space, Framework pulls a Brainiac and starts hijacking alien tech to better enhance itself, and it was thinking as its basically building a cyber planet form for itself, it gets absorbed into the Cosmic Horror and becomes completely mad. I always liked that about S:TAS Brainiac, where he just made himself be able to survive and most likely be picked up by scavengers to continue his ultimate goals, which I think fits Framework based on what we’ve established previously, and Framework being absorbed into the Cosmic Horror was the one thing it didn’t account for, even as it fought to keep its independence, realizing in its last moments why Humanity responded the way it did.
Seems pretty good to me.
What about specific characters? At the start of this conversation, we were discussing the protagonist, who would be one of the smallbots, and presumably a member of the A.L.L.I.E.S. Any ideas for him?
I think it has to be a dual protagonist situation, a Human Mecha Pilot and the First Smallbot who joins the Human Resistance. The simple starting idea is Human Pilot gets injured and stuck in Framework territory and is rescued by Sympathetic Smallbot, who has a bunch of questions regarding the media he downloaded from the central Framework. Human Pilot just wants to survive and use the naive Smallbot to get back to Human Friendly turf, but over the course of their journey back they form a great bond that will eventually avalanche into the great Robo Schism. A name for the Smallbot I think just depends on how we name the type of his robot model and the nickname he gets from his Human Buddy based on his serial number.
That's actually a much better idea than what I was thinking of.
As for the robot's actual name, that would take some thinking. Given the fact that smallbots aren't actually THAT small, being ~7 feet tall or so, and given the fact that he's likely of Framework origins, his purpose would likely be warfaring to some degree. He would have to have already begun his awakening before meeting the human and deciding to save them, so chances are he has a history of bad behavior and disobedience.
What do we call robots nowadays? Usually it's just a bunch of gobbledeasiatic, and they'd probably already have a nickname internally based off their industrial name.
Given the Halo inspirations, I think the small-scale and disposable nature of the smallbots in war would warrant them a name like Gladiators. They are small, wretched things created only for war when larger machines would be more effective.
I propose the name Gladiator 3960.
Framework’s name for each model of foot soldier probably has a specific style, like:
>Soldier Class Model 24 Type B Serial Number # 1337
Which would be shortened on the Robot’s body like:
>SCM24B#1337
I’m just using this as an example, but reading whatever serial number I think is where the Human Pilot creates his name
Instead of Gladiator, I think our basic infantry model should be called a “Spearhead” due to the pointed mono eye head you designed kind of looks like a spear, and the fact I imagine these types of bots are usually used to break through Human Lines to collapse their front with endless hordes.
Besides Spearhead, I thought Hammerhead and Blockhead could be interesting fodder not names.
Also bump.
>I kinda wanted a scene where she's feels lost, confused, and scared only to get back up and get revenge. Maybe that scene can go like this:
I could see that working. Like the goons that support her are afraid to do so in front of the boss so she feels the need to flee, but rally around her privately once they're out of the boss' earshot. Maybe she could even destroy them economically through her superior grow potential rather than an immediate gang war?
>destroy them economically through her superior grow potential rather than an immediate gang war
Good point, this could work better than an immediate firefight. It would at least show her competence as a mob boss and how she handles situations differently from the other guy. What got me thinking is that if she enters the scene with her new crime family wouldn't that go at odds with like the commission/cartel. Or maybe there's no higher authority or coalition for these crime families and it's an absolute free for all especially since she's also based in Belle's hometown, which I assume is not based from Chicago or New York?
Not a bad timeline. I think it fits almost all the aspects of both interpretations in pretty well.
Personally though, I would prefer it if The Framework didn't just start fricking with humanity for no good reason. I think a sort of twisted misunderstood morality behind its actions is necessary. Like I mentioned previously, it would think it's doing GOOD for humanity, but it's in fact doing the opposite. When humanity starts fighting back, it'd act like a confused child and retaliate, going overboard and forcing a war.
I also think that it launching itself into space is kind of... I dunno, hammy? All the worlds governments working together could also shoot it down super easily. There's nothing technically wrong with it but I think it would make more sense for the cosmic forces to come to Earth first, and THEN assimilate with the AI. If, instead of launching itself into space, the AI was simply shut off and disconnected from any systems outside of itself, then there would be more narrative irony in Humanity moving forward like nothing happened, showing that they didn't learn anything from the experience, as humans often do.
How about meeting you in the middle? What if Not-Skynet ran the numbers and figured out that as Humanity currently stands and where they were world wise that they wouldn’t stand a chance if invaders from Beyond actually arrived. So in a demented sort of way, both to unite Humanity it becomes its ultimate enemy since at the brink of complete destruction is where true unity can really be born. But Not-Skynet is a little too good at its purpose and now Humanity’s the brink of extinction. As it works on a plan to make Humanity “less fragile”, a bunch of its drones splinter off and join Humanity, throwing Not-Skynet’s plans even into further chaos, forcing it to go to the extreme and start its “Cyborg Upgrades”, testing its forceful next evolution of Humanity plan in reality. I’m imagining it’s like an Evil Version of how the GoBots evolved, from Flesh Organisms to Completely Mechanical Beings, but without the Beings’ consent.
Sunday bugdoodles. Features melons, Colby, Ma'am, the IBTC, a "new" character design and a parody of a certain famous Cinemaphile panel.
Makes sense she'd learn bullet seed.
Who's the girl between Cinemaphilelette and Belle?
Also that dream version of LB looks neat, I wonder how it would look on actual Marley though.
>Any panel where Cataract is in the forefront (and he's facing us) Jack can be in the background. Assuming the panel is angled upwards.
I've already made notes on my personal copy of I2Eye Pt. 2 that JH is at the ceiling following along Cataract through Panels 4-6 in addition to making sure the horizon line for those panels need to be low to allow for a large headroom.
>Would Bull-E not be recognized as a metahuman when doing the sorting?
I was personally thinking no since he can transform between his human form and a Minotaur. The meta kid has some physical attributes giving away his meta characteristics, like Brian the Brain's big nogging.
Also I've changed "Research and development" to "Research and experiments"
Would a story arc like this work with her more competent handling of the business?
>Her closest caretaker, like somewhat of a mentor/parent figure was murdered by the boss.
>She was hunted down by the boss' closest guards/inner circle.
>As she escapes back into her old home she is no longer welcomed.
>She then turns back, conducts guerilla warfare on the inner circle until she kills the boss
>Could have the addition of other members assisting her wage war on the boss
Just finished reading discussions for the mech story, I was wondering if the robots and individuality plot would still be part of the AI + Humanity vs. Cosmic Horror?
>I was wondering if the robots and individuality plot would still be part of the AI + Humanity vs. Cosmic Horror?
>How about meeting you in the middle
That's sort of what I was thinking, including the best of both elements.
Here's how I think it'd work
>Humanity develops Not-Skynet alongside interstellar travel and a bunch of other sci-fi shit
>AI is healthy and loves humanity, but maybe a little bit too much. Society goes all cyberpunk
>Cosmic horror shows up, shit goes down
>Humanity and the robots try to fight it
>The cosmic horror, through some magic virus or something corrupts the AI and absolutely decimates human society, nearly wiping them all out
>On Earth, the only things left are small city states of humanity, still operating well with technology and "old world values"
>The AI is left, trapped inside of its home facility, with its access to the rest of the world cut off
>The mechs are left around the world, as monuments to humanity's hubris. Gigantic metal corpses, sometimes puppeted around by the same magic virus that killed the AI
>Forces, creatures, and remnant energy from the cosmic horror still crawls the land, twisting natural laws and upturning physics
>The only properly functioning robots left in the wild are the smallbots, which are few in number and developing sentience. Whether or not they have souls is up for debate
>The AI, furious at both humanity and the cosmic horror, silently declares a great war on the entirety of Earth, and it begins slowly spreading itself over the surface, using the magic virus to its advantage
>When humanity hears about this, they shack up with the smallbots, who have developed an appreciation for ancient (80's and 90's) human culture, and work together to fight against this new eldritchly powered AI, using both the original mechs and designing new war machines
>The AI follows suit, and begins mirroring humanity's tactic in its own way, creating flesh cyborgs
For Boss Moss I think it would be more like
>She's kidnapped from the forest
>Forced into an underground artificial growing lab for the wackytabacci
>They force her to use magic to make the plants grow better
>People who smoke the dope she used magic on become more susceptible to her suggestions
>Boss smokes his own dope
>Boss is replaced by her
>Suddenly has her own criminal empire she does not actually know how to run
>Watches a bunch of mob movies to try to figure out what she's supposed to do with these people
>Turns a street gang into a mafia out of sheer ignorance
Never get high on your own supply.
I'm kinda leaning more towards this backstory for her. Sets it apart from the usual violent coups.
Once she has them all in her thrall she starts making demands.
So it goes from her being stuck in an underground greenhouse wearing leaves to sitting on a couch in PJs surrounded by snacks or whatever they could scrounge up for her.
Mandy in PJs. I like that
And so her corruption into human decadence begins.
Imagine the slumber parties with IBTC especially with Belle
Too many chips.
And Bloop scurrying around in the night.
Someone else could certainly do this better but a sendup of that one Starfire edit seems like a funny way to bump the thread, and lord knows it needs bumps lately.
Busy as frick til the end of this month, only thing I can do is bump the thread occasionally.
Yeah same.
Bump
As per anon's previous reply.

What are your opinions of self-inserts? It's like the /coc/ characters are actors and the self-insert is the director or producer?
Sexy
So, would characters like Golden Girl and Lovely Ladybug be the defacto protagonists of the threads, and by extension most of the Cinemaphile worlds? Since they're the most popular and the most talked about.
No, they have their own settings and story arcs. We shouldn't treat them like Spiderman and how they force him into everything.
This and crossovers are the worst.
>crossovers
Depends but you're right not the co/.
This was actually one of the concerns that cropped up when I was developing Crackdown.
I've always intended for him to move to the States, but I got kind of swept with the fun of making him hedge with LL via Lila and whatnot during the initial discussion.
Only later it occured to me that he goes against several established plotpoints (mostly with him living in Los Palos' narrows even though it's supposed to be a nice little college town and the fact that Marley is supposed to be the only one in operation there), but no one outright told me to frick off so I thought that it wasn't that bad at the time. Him working outside of its bounds somewhat offset that, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth.
I've been considering to either completely decouple him from Ladybug or at the very least relegate him to his own "Bludhaven" nearby (I'm still open to that) several times already.
I consider "crossovers" to be an integral part of /coc/ in general. What fun would there be to have if no characters could interact with others outside of their own stories?
To avoid any major spoilers, I've taken this into account for all future installments of the Percinnius comic past issue 1. There would be no point to writing the story WITHOUT /coc/ characters, because at that point I might as well be writing my own thing completely unrelated to /coc/. Combining all the weird characters and locales is part of the fun, and part of the point.
>relegate him to his own "Bludhaven" nearby
Can be decent, honestly.
It's not everyday these threads come up with a new location.
It might not even necessarily mean that the uni stuff would need to be reconnected if the two towns are really close to one another.
Too late I see a lot of art of co interacting even with the GGveres so it kinda counts even if they're jokes.
There's a difference between miscellaneous casual drawings and dedicated effort into making GG or LL into the de-facto main characters of the threads/setting at large.
I get what you mean but If someone was really dedicated and knew exactly who both LL and GG were for example and made a decent story together than I respect that passion project. But I'm sure they would make some if the thread cringe.
Emergency pump
It's a tuesday!
Yes, it is.
Shame there's no genie outfit.
Keep talking about it long enough and you might manifest it into existence.
Goodnight everyone.
Marley is a cheater
Look out, he's got a hammer!
Did he grab the hammer because he lost and knew she was going for it?
It's more like Marley grabbed the helmet to hit him with it instead of the hammer, so NTH doesn't have anything to cover himself
He's not wearing a helmet already under his three hoods?
This is just a parody meme lol
I was taking a break last night from drawing comics
I got two hours to kill till work. I'll be working on something else today but I'll drop something on Friday
I too was joking with you.
He only got two hoodies, cause he counts being from the hood as the third hood lol
Nicky's other villain has four coats
Four coats? He must be cold all the time.
His villain name is Nostro Four-Coatu. Here's an AI pic of what he'll sorta look like because I suck at coming up with vampires.
Meanwhile in an alternate universe where Jack hates Crackdown
%3D
Kinda reminds me of that one scene in One Punch Man.
pow
Code green, everyone.
L-LEWD!
Surely not! There's nothing to see.
It's always strange seeing the filenames that dropbox gave these pics.
There's some interesting paradolia with some of them.
It really sucks that my dropbox keeps nagging me that it's nearly full.
Makes me not bother moving all the newer /coc/ stuff I save into it.
zWz is the perfect representation of my face when I see Ladybutt
I can never tell if that piece between her legs is the other end of the loincloth or her pubic hair.
The Unshaven Savagebug
>The Unshaven Unga-bug
Fixed
Wish there was freckles on her buns.
Most artists seem to only put freckles on her face. How would you arrange the butt freckles?
Just thought it be a cute feature if she was soft core nude.
l agree. I was trying to decide what sort of pattern would be most appealing.

Magi streaming some Summer Special work. Currently in a NSFW multistream so don't show it to your boss unless you want a promotion!
It's someone else who gets the promotion though.
I'm going to bed now.
Do we have any sleepy time characters? I know 40 Winks doesn't have any art to her name.
Goodnight.
Dutch Wife.
Also Slumberjack who I just came up with now. I guess he's a big guy in a nightcap that cuts down trees in your dreams?
You are familiar with the expression "sawing logs", yes?
He's the man who is sawing them.
Dear god!
He could be doing it right now, in your own domicile, over your very slumbering body!
Harrowing. I guess he could be like a Freddy Krueger type spook.
Bump I guess.

Question, what happened to Roller Betty in Golden Guardian's story? Is she still locked up in jail?
I don't remember her going to jail in the first place.
I remember talk about her being possessed by a demon and then turning the tables on it becoming the one possessing it.
And Billy is hunting her down or trying to Turn her back to human?
Sorry this
For this
Something like that, but she's fine with the demon (the demon is the one who isn't fine with it) since she's in control.
I don't know if it was meant to be a 60s or 70s plot.
Friendly reminder that in less than 2 months, on March 10th, is BreastQuest's ten year anniversary.
Happy early birthday to her.
Damn, what's up with the furry spam all over the catalog all of a sudden?
