    >How does this work?

    >It works like a community toy chest. In the /coc/ threads you are free to post whatever ideas/settings/characters you want, but you have to be OK with other people playing with them (tweaking them, putting them in stories, using them for things, etc.)
    >There's no guarantee that what you post will catch on either.

    >If the OC you are posting is YOURS for something you are personally doing, then it would go to the "How is your webcomic?" threads.
    >If you just want feedback on an OC of yours, then it would go in the "donut steel" threads or drawthreads.

If the thread dies suddenly or you still want to discuss something when there's no thread:

another week of Dynamo League (halloween special)

    >Dynamo League: Night of Haunted Havoc II

    >Willow was brimming with enthusiasm as she shared her Halloween plan with her friends. The thrill of the night had ignited a fire in her eyes.
    >She-Beaver: "Ladies, every year, we get a small amount of cheap and barely edible candy, and this situation needs to change."
    >Her friends listened attentively, curious about what Willow had in store for them. Meanwhile, Bella, dressed as Leatherface, couldn't contain her amusement any longer.
    >Bella (holding back laughter): "And how are you going to do that? Also, is no one going to ask me about my costume?"
    >She-Baaver (smiling): "I'll get to your costume in a moment, Bella. But first, let's focus on the plan. This year, we're going big or going home. We're going to the Valley Neighborhoods, where the good and expensive candy is waiting for us to come and claim it. We are going to swim in sweet candy and delicious chocolate bars!"
    >Zoe was intrigued, but her eyes darted around, looking for any sign of Joe.
    >She-Beaver: "Zoe, don't worry. My dad isn't here. He's on a pa—"
    >Zoe's cheeks flushed red, and she interrupted Willow with an awkward response.
    >Zoe: "A DATE!! I mean, I don't know what you're talking about."
    >Mia, the goth girl in a Misa Amane costume, placed her hand on Zoe's shoulder.
    >Mia: "Zoey, we know. Oh, we really know. Anyway, so what's your big plan, Willow?"
    >Willow's eyes sparkled with excitement as she continued.
    >She-Beaver: "We'll hit the Valley Neighborhoods hard and fast, collecting candy from every house. It's going to be a Halloween candy heist!"
    >Mia: "Sounds interesting. I'm in."
    >Willow was thrilled to have Mia on board.
    >Bella (still in Leatherface attire): "Well, it's not my usual choice for Halloween, but I'm ready for some candy heisting. Just don't let me near any chainsaws, okay?"
    >Willow laughed at Bella's humor.
    >She-Beaver: "Great! And now, Bella, we should probably ask about your costume."

      >Bella (with a mischievous grin): "I'm Leatherface from 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' but as a weather Reporter a "Leather Reporter" hehe. Plus, it's perfect for our candy heist. No one will mess with us."
      >With their costumes and candy heist plan in place, the four friends set off into the night, ready to conquer the Valley Neighborhoods and bring back a haul of Halloween treats like never before.
      >The girls, in their creative costumes, hailed an Uber to take them to the Valley Neighborhoods near Trunktown. As they arrived at their destination, they stepped out and looked around, ready to embark on their candy heist adventure.
      >The streets were dimly lit, and the neighborhood was eerily quiet. The lack of trick-or-treaters in the area caught their attention.
      >She-Beaver (raising an eyebrow): "Hmm, it's strange. There aren't many people out here."
      >Mia (whispering): "Yeah, it's almost like no one wants to be here."
      >Willow and Mia exchanged suspicious glances, unsure of what to make of the situation. They'd expected the Valley Neighborhoods to be bustling with Halloween activity.
      >Willow (trying to lighten the mood): "Alright, enough of that. Let's focus on our mission to gather the most candy ever!"
      >The girls started walking from house to house, ringing doorbells and shouting "Trick or treat!" when the doors opened. They collected candy from each house, and Bella's "Leather Reporter" costume attracted curious glances and laughs from the people they met.

        >As they went along, the girls chatted about their adventures and dreams. Willow chose to keep her hero life a secret, so she told her friends that she wanted to be an accountant.
        >Mia (laughing): "An accountant? Seriously, Willow? I can't picture you sitting in an office with numbers all day."
        >She-Beaver (grinning): "Well, everyone has their dreams, right?"
        >Zoe (playfully teasing): "You're going to count all the candy we steal tonight, huh?"
        >She-Beaver (joining the fun): "Absolutely, I'll be the Candy Accountant!"
        >The friends shared laughter and continued their candy heist. Just when they thought the night couldn't get any more exciting, something unexpected happened.
        >A dark figure silently appeared in a tree in front of them. His presence sent shivers down their spines.
        >Lester (a bit nervously): "You girls are in for a treat tonight, and I don't mean candy."

          >The girls let out startled screams, but the surprise appearance turned comical when Lester lost his balance and fell clumsily to the ground.
          >Lester was a Dark Skinned Sixteen years old monster and vampire hunter who was also a vampire Himself, he was wearing stylish Clothes and had a sharp wooden Dagger on his waist
          >She-Beaver (giggling): "Whoa, that was a great entrance."
          >Zoe (teasing): "Smooth, very smooth."
          >Mia (joining the fun): "I've seen better vampire landings in B-movies."
          >Bella (grinning): "Maybe you should stick to staying in trees."
          >Lester (blushing): "Well, I was going for dramatic, but I guess I need more practice. I'm Lester, a young vampire hunter."
          >Willow, Mia, and Bella couldn't help but burst into laughter at the revelation.
          >She-Beaver(playfully): "Vampire hunter, huh? I hope you're not hunting for our candy or Blood?!"
          >Lester (relieved): "No, no! Just the undead.also that's a harmful stereotype My Vampire powers are based on Fruit Bat.
          >She-Beaver:"Oh my apologies!"
          >Lester:No problem my Uncle is a Vampire Bat though haha....so since you are new here i can show you around and help you get more candy, so what do you say Mind if I join you?"
          >Willow (grinning): "Well, as long as you promise not to bite into our candy stash."
          >Lester (playfully): "Deal! I'm in it for the candy and to protect you from any spooky surprises."
          >The girls, along with their newfound Vampire friend Lester, continued their candy heist adventure through the Valley Neighborhoods, ready to face whatever Halloween surprises lay ahead.

My man we've got a post-apocalyptic setting about an evil breast-repressing empire, and a setting about a tween sidekick with breasts larger than her head, and a team of milfs trying to squeeze into their teenage costumes, to say nothing of all the hypnosis and general bondage Colette gets into. I don't think anybody here would criticize you on that front, not seriously at least.

I appreciate the compliments anons, I try to actually write a comic and setting with interesting stuff so if people don’t like that sort of thing they can still enjoy it, and I think a comedy is the best way to do it. To use a Big 2 Example, I’m basically trying to make Rebound /coc/‘s Big Bertha at this point. I really don’t want to make the character too degenerate because I think there’s some good stories to tell, especially since “getting back in shape” stories and struggles aren’t really done with female characters. Plus as you mentioned, Commissioning a whole comic isn’t fricking cheap, so after I finish it I’ll probably stick to Prose Stories unless I can come up with plots for cheaper/shorter comics. I do hope when I have the whole finished project in a few months people can enjoy it.

              Anonymous

The one joke I keep expecting to see with Rebound is her swinging from one arm and using the rest of her body as a wrecking ball. A very fast, very unpredictable wrecking ball.

                Anonymous

I’ll probably use that move in the future, but for now I’m doing something else with a wrecking ball in the current comic that I think will make up for it.

You could say she got the inspiration for the wrecking ball move from this current adventure.

So I had a random idea that might be fun to flesh out. A spin on the Dial H for Hero concept, where instead of heroes you get supervillains. Think of it like the Super Adaptoid where you give it to a regular mook Henchman to turn them into a heavy hitter to help in a fight against your heroic foes. My two ideas is either a Device to turn a regular Henchman into a Supervillain or a LMD/Super Adaptoid type Robot that turns into a Supervillain that loyally follows your orders for as long as you hired it out. Regardless of which I definitely think it needs a gacha mechanic where you don’t know what Supervillain you’re going to end up with as well as the pick only being temporary. Especially with the variety of villains in the /coc/ sandbox, you could end up with interesting combinations and villains who normally wouldn’t be subservient to another under your thumb.

      Anonymous

Does it summon the actual villain or just turn a henchman into a copy of that villain's body for a bit?

        Anonymous

I think it should go by Dial H/Ben 10 logic where it just turns the Henchman body wise into the villain.

I've vaguely knocked around the idea of a critter or construct called the Private Individual Foe, which attempts to become the perfect antagonist to a given do-gooder. Mostly inspired by inverting the name of "Public Universal Friend."

        Anonymous

This might be a forced acronym, but here’s what I came up with.

        R.I.V.A.L.S.

        Replicating
        Individual’s
        Villains
        As
        Lifelike
        Stand-ins

          Anonymous

Do you think the actual villains will take issue with any small fry who make use of it since it will reflect on their own reputations?

          Also, goodnight.

            Anonymous

I assume so, but my guess it’s a Pandora’s Box situation of once it’s open there’s no going back, so no matter who or how many times try to stop it, it just keeps coming back.

              Anonymous

Then they'll just try to corrupt it. Eventually it'll land on something that outstrips the device's ability to control and then a hivemind will form with the original villain.

Alright. My idea is the Piledriver, basically the opposite of Jack. He's the Captain of the College Wrestling Team and every stereotypical Jerk Jock. Unlike Jack, he's a Melee Fighter, but uses Cyborg Enhancements in his costume to fight weapon users. Obviously his signature move is pic related. I'll link some ideas I have for his design later on.

Personally I thought the most interesting story would be for someone to ask Shark Lass why she decided to become evil only for her to realize she can’t remember why or how she got her powers. Then as she investigates the pieces fall into place

I don't see Shark Lass as amnesiac. She's just a shark girl biting people and making mutant sharks to bite more people.
I don't think she needs a tragic twist, but that' just me. I'm at the point where I prefer villains who are just buttholes because that's who they are. Call me callous, but I'm really tired of sympathetic backstories that are shoehorned in because the writer pussies out on making the villain a villain. You want that villain to be chummy with the heroes later? Put them through hell first and let the story force them to change rather than changing backstories on the fly.

            >I don't think she needs a tragic twist, but that' just me.
To be fair, her original creator wanted her to be a rape victim. The tragic backstory was always kind of intended.

I vaguely remember that. She backpedaled on that pretty fast I think.

Both of your points are pretty good here, however I don’t think she would have amnesia or stop being a villain.
Rather I see it as a blank space between her life before an after becoming Shark Lass where something happened. Not complete memory loss and more of a hole in her mind.
Also the way I envisioned it, finding out she was kidnapped and brainwashed wouldn’t be enough to make Shark Lass suddenly reform. If anything she’d probably just get her revenge then keep doing bad things because she enjoys them. It’s less about redemption and more about closure

Characters with tentacles ARE good at filling holes. Just ask Cinemaphilelette about the father of her child

well kinda he is a huge Monsters Nerd and knows so much about the occult
but sadly he has little to no Social skills and tried to impress Willow and her friends and sailed miserably kek

            >You know what's really terrifying? Things that mess with your mind. Madness you know you are going through but can do nothing about. The feeling of dread that something is wrong and you cannot remember what.
Make that into a parasite that causes a zombie outbreak.
an Amazing Concept but I think I will use it elsewhere after the Halloween Special because I have an idea that would include this concept

So a fruit bat nerd. He never quite gets hanging upside-down right does it?

Since it’s nearly Halloween, I’m thinking of a new seasonal story.

I’m considering fleshing out the concept of Brain Dead. Perhaps he starts a zombie outbreak, and Jack has to fight the horde, but also prevent the “zombies” from being eradicated. Why? Because Brain Dead’s virus usually is only temporary, between a few hours to a day, but there’s no way to revert back to a living human if you’re missing your head. Or something alike. Jack’s costume that year could be a knight, so the title would be “Knight of the Living Dead!”

              So... JackHammer year 2?

Comic book time logic always feels cheap to me.

Well sometimes irl world logic is less fun. Better multiple Halloween issues than just saying “oh it’s his fourth times doing Halloween he shouldn’t be in school anymore”

                I said fourth at random

I remember a couple threads ago someone pointed out that Shark Lass’s past is a bit ambiguous without a clear origin on her powers, and then pointed out that her rapid change from nice college student to deranged shark monster is reminiscent of how Shocker would transform and brainwash people in Kamen Rider.

Any thoughts on the idea? Personally I think if a Shocker equivalent was responsible they probably mindwiped her too so she would have to rediscover them since she lacks the memory of being kidnapped

Professor Manticore is known to kidnap people to make into mutants in an undersea lab.

I vaguely remember that. She backpedaled on that pretty fast I think.

Yeah I think the response was pretty instant after the cutesy pastel shark girl in the poodle skirt suddenly veered into Very Special Episode territory.

Mandingo never settled on her backstory.
From what I remember, she was an ordinary person who either messed around with some chemicals she shouldn't have had access to, was a teen mad genius environmentalist who became and eco terrorist, somehow murdered her own human family and went mad, or was bit by a radioactive shark.

You could always give the origin thread a re-read if it bothers you.

You know, considering shark lass, it may hold alot more to a more concrete origin if one were to consider this "shocker"/neo-nazi organization of science and racism if they made shark lass just have a amnesiac brain issue of her past. Hold all origin ideas as something of a bunch of separate puzzles.
She seems to be evil but I could see a more much deeper focus on her "insides".

btw what the hell is Lila thinking of with the fingers?

I think it would b e better if it wasn't tragic, just moreso a way to help with her origin ideas and having them be somewhat all in one.

Shark Lass is a character i have no attention to but I can see there being a sort of ability of her to change soon by naturality

Yeah exactly. And who knows, maybe it is tragic, but then again she doesn’t have to remember it.
All Shark Lass knows is one day she was an intelligent college student trying to investigate an area where she found some weird tech and then she woke up in the hospital two weeks later with a shark tail, super strength, and an awesome costume with a drive to commit acts of chaos
