    >How does this work?

    >It works like a community toy chest. In the /coc/ threads you are free to post whatever ideas/settings/characters you want, but you have to be OK with other people playing with them (tweaking them, putting them in stories, using them for things, etc.)
    >There's no guarantee that what you post will catch on either.

    >If the OC you are posting is YOURS for something you are personally doing, then it would go to the "How is your webcomic?" threads.
    >If you just want feedback on an OC of yours, then it would go in the "donut steel" threads or drawthreads.

If the thread dies suddenly or you still want to discuss something when there's no thread:

What fighting video game company would you have make a Coalition Combat game?

Guys that make guilty gear could make a good one

They probably would, but I'd rather die than have this game garner the same cancerous fanbase as Strive.

arcsys would probably do a good job, the strive team specifically? that might be a bit of a harder sell.

I feel like it should be an arcade machine, like the big four player Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade machine.

        >so it's gonna be one of these days, huh?
        Whenever is it not?
Also, I just noticed that Lila has a Belle (the disney one, not diving one) like hairdo on that pic.
Usually drawgays don't depict her hair having so much volume.

For the past couple months, the threads have consistently gotten around the 300 reply mark. It's a matter if it lasting long enough for it to actually pick up steam.

I'm lurking. Don't have much to contribute tho', I couldn't get my gears into working for weeks.

        >What fighting video game company would you have make a Coalition Combat game?
Bandai Namco can make Coalition Budokai Tenkaichi.
But the true answer is to make an indie game with the MUGEN engine.

        My gears feel locked too.
I have an idea for something new, but it needs a lot of work and re-tweaking.

Even when a comic gets posted, thread pacing stays the same. Actually, comics seem to kill the pacing more often than not compared to story conceptualisation

I feel there's some kind of psychology at work here, but I can't say for certain.
A comic gets posted, it's good but doesn't get many replies. Why is this? Either anons don't all want to reply with the same "it's good/I like it/etc." or if they post criticisms then it might scare off the drawgay and no more comics.
It's all speculative thinking on my part with the dammed either way theory.

I think people just prefer being there on the ground floor of a production, to be able to have input and say they had input on getting something going. It's like foreplay, you can keep going for hours, or you can trade it for one or two seconds of orgasm and the ride is over

            Anonymous

I can see the similarities, but when someone draws something I was on the writing team for then I have to give as much input as possible for it.

Like when Artist Anon drops a comic and I see anything I wrote in it then I have to talk his ear off while coming up with even more things on the spot.

          >Either anons don't all want to reply with the same "it's good/I like it/etc." or if they post criticisms then it might scare off the drawgay and no more comics.
I almost always make a post if I like a drawing/comic, because you are invisible in a thread until you make a post and by saying "I like it!" the artist can see a reaction to what he/she created. But I don't have much more to say beside that, and scaring artists away is frightening. Even if I don't think some criticism on an anonymous imageboard would do that much damage.
          Then there's what

          [...]
These comics are 2-3 page long distillations of characters that have been a /coc/ mainstay for a long time now, some were around nearly for a decade. They don't exactly explore any new ground, it's literally just "Hello, I'm X and this my entire M.O." This moreso serves as an introduction to newcomers, of course people who've been familiar with them for such a long time won't have much to say and will instead praise the artwork or note small details like Belle's southern accent.

said: to really pack a punch, you have to offer something new, something people can talk about. Although a 2-3 pages distillations of key points in an enjoyable format is an invaluable resource and a lot of work goes into that, no questions.
So I guess that there's a kernel of people who do a lot of work, but to really get the hive mind going you need to generate enthusiasm.
It's a tough job, and not a very rewarding one sometimes.
That said, I see there's an interest in a Cinemaphile fighting game. Is there a backstory to justify all the fights or is it just a mindless arcade game with colorful characters? Although I'm certain this isn't an engaging question and unless someone comes up with a really compelling idea this won't go anywhere.

Ah, that's like a Board Tans fighting game. I remember seeing an even earlier version with a sprite for pre-/co/nrad Cinemaphile-Anon in the dropbox.

                Truly the age of myth.
When you could catch a glimpse of a flying city in the sky, and where murmuring echoes told a story of an immortal man with two vests.
At least to me it seems that far away in time.

I mean, not really? All that stuff is still around. Just like anything else it's dormant until someone wants to use them for something.
If no one wants to use any of that stuff, then it just falls out of conversation.

But as for /tg/ OC, yeah that age has passed. We're lucky /coc/ even still exists after the OC purges that started as early as 2014.

Anyway, how much would you (or anyone else here) say you'd need to change something you're copying until it can stand on its own? Like taking a fanfic and changing it until it's something new.

What made you invested in the thing you are "copying"? If you can recognize the core of what you like, then you can make something different with it. Maybe the characters react in a different way, maybe there's a different conflict and goal...
I'm sure you don't want to make a carbon copy of the thing you like, you must have in mind what will be different.

It started in my head as a Jojo fanfic, but not of any of the characters, just in the setting.
I like the idea of a mystical martial arts that lets you manipulate life energy (which I know isn't exclusive to Jojo) and also the idea of stands where they're just weird as hell superpowers that are limited by what the user is able to do with them through imagination.
Thinking about those two things, I realized I could tell the story I have in mind separated from the inspirational material, but then the hang up comes on how to re-work certain ideas and character connections without any prior build up.

This is the rough idea that's been spinning in my head for a while. It's nowhere near a finished idea.
                https://pastebin.com/51aPR9Tu

I incorporated a few powers I've suggested to /coc/ over the years that I've never found a place to use them in yet.

                >But as for /tg/ OC, yeah that age has passed.

Sounds fun. Most of the time OC gets chased off to the quest board, so we'll see.

This is certainly interesting. It isn't even too similar to JBA imo.
                Free thoughts incoming.
                >how to re-work certain ideas and character connections without any prior build up.
You'll need a flashback at some point. Or a prologue. Whatever establishes the necessary setting.

I see Santana/TheBadGuy wanting Jonas' power for himself, given that he thinks his problem is slow learning.
There's also the question of truth on the internet.
Also the question of truth for Jonas. He can know anything, but he must work to show the truth to others. So it seems to me.

                Then you have:
                >The Mystical Martial Art (MMA lol)
                >The Weird Powers
                >Artifacts that grant Weird Powers
                >A supernatural being who developes powers for himself (but not Weird Powers?)
You wanna have an ancient demon? A vampire. More Sci-fi? An alien. The artifacts are either ancient or extraterrestrial (still ancient). So instead of THE NAZI and ANCIENT AZTEC RUINS you can have THE GOVERNMENT and AREA 51. I don't remember how much bullshit the story with the Pillar Men was.

I have some lazy questions (feel free to ignore them).
                >How much personality have the characters? What are their conflicts?
                >How do they develope their powers? Is it important for the story?
                >Why does the teacher knows the Mystical Martial Art (MMA)?
                >Why is the BigBad sealed into a facility?
Maybe the human power comes from the soul and it was used to go against demons with weird powers? Human soul vs Demon soul? Digital Love cannot copy souls...
There's a lot of worldbuilding, but the motivations of the characters are very important. Also, the way they get out of trouble. But ultimately is the motivations. Genius as it is, Luffy having an advantage over Enel because he's made of rubber in One Piece is good the first time, but it isn't what makes things memorable.
Finally, you should write the story you want to tell, I don't wanna decide things for you. Also because I'm a shitty writer

An alien could work. The teacher would be the grandson of the man who defeated an alien invasion with some sort of power that can be channeled. They could also be mole men from the center of the Earth and it'd still work, but an alien feels more strange.

The bad guy would be in an artificial coma if we remove the pillarman aspect. Some kind of drug being pumped into him to keep him sedated since he's otherwise immoral or unkillable, but the mind escaping through the nodes would still work. The bad guy's initial power is just "on/off", by seeing the patterns of on/off he's able to decode and understand them after enough time, so his mental access to the internet is very different than what Digital Love provides. But the bad guy's mind can be conceptualized as himself in cyberspace by Digital Love.

Jonas' power is more it gives him the date of creation, composition, dates of change, and other misc. information about what he uses it on. The interface will be all screwy looking at something that's been age adjusted. If it's used on something abstract, like a fighting style, he can see the exact movements he needs to do, but it's still on his physical body to be able to do them. Like someone talented watching someone else dance can pick it up quickly VS someone needing to drill the motions into muscle memory, you still need stable legs to even attempt it.
He really is the son of a very rich family that owns a major corporation. He's going to college to learn business so he'll be able to talk over the family business one day, but also because he wants to make his own fortune before that so when he finally gets his chance to make big changes to the company he'll face less resistance thanks to his own accomplishments.

What makes the bad guy dangerous is once he gets his new power, he has the potential to be everywhere all at once and eat anyone who is near any kind of metal that is connected to any system he can move through.
                Like a dogscape.

Ok, but now how does the plot of the arrowhead work? Why does he need it if he's not bothered by the sun?

The arrow would need to be changed to something else. Some other power triggering factor. I'd say powers would manifest in those who have very strong desires. Getting into those desires is a good segue into character backstories.
The alien could still want the power because he can't survive in Earth's atmosphere for too long, the air composition just doesn't work with his biology, or maybe the energy of the planet itself is rejecting him.

I have no idea if I'm actually going to be able to develop this story or not with how my life is right now.

Maybe a build up of a certain metal in food could be the trigger (like how if you eat a lot of tuna you're likely to end up with mercury in your body). Some sort of super metal that is in such trace amounts in nature that it would require multiple generations worth of exposure before it could trigger powers manifesting, and then it only works if the person with enough of this metal in their body has a very strong desire.
The collage has a sample of this metal in a more pure state for study (it gets passed around like the deamon core) and it's enough to cause the effect if it enters a person's system.

So I'm thinking the girl who can manipulate the age of things does so by a beam of light. She carries around a heart shaped disco ball key chain so she can cause mass chaos when cornered.
The song Dancing Queen turned up on my workout song list and that fits her really well.
No one can figure out how old she really is.

Light and time go together, in a sense.
And about light, I would keep it as the weakness of the alien. Maybe it's more similar to Jojo, but it works with your original concept in an easy way. The alien might come from a planet shrouded in darkness or from the depths of an ocean/cloud world (think Europa or Venus) and that would explains it.
But I think the explanation isn't that important.
What's important is that the visual for filling the internet with light can be grasped more immediately.
The fact that the girl manifests her power like a beam of light can be made less redundant (supposed there's even a problem with that) by giving the beam a different color/shape than the one the Teacher uses (But then again, is the Hamon/Ripple light-based from a visual standpoint?)
                I hope I'm making sense.

I'm thinking that the planet Earth itself would have been actively rejecting the aliens. The planet's life energy manifests as a sort of antibody for the invaders and some humans figured out how to channel it in their martial arts.
Sort of what the Dynamo League Anon has with Marmot Man and his Nature Martial Arts.

I think the way I'll have it work is you need to feel it through the Earth, through the wind, through the sunlight, through any sort of flowing water. All the natural movent of the planet gets infused with this energy the moment it enters the atmosphere or stirs in the depths. It's so diffused that on its own it has little effect on the invaders, more an annoyance if anything that their regeneration mostly negates anyway.

This way it still works with the alien wanting a power that can negate the planet rejecting him.
The alien itself I think would've been the comic relief/bumbling kid sidekick/minion to the rest who were all super geniuses in one way or another. He was always foolish, silly, slow, not much of a threat so no one ever killed him. He gets a lot less silly after all the time he spends plotting and planning revenge.
And it'll still work with flooding the internet with the frequency of that energy.

Ok, so I take that while the original idea is Santana being irradiated with UV rays, here the alien is in a slumber because the planet's energy sapped him of his lifeforce.
As I said before, I like the take on the martial art. It's a mysterious kung fu of nature.
Now the only mechanics that need to be taken care of would be the powers of the characters, I guess.

I'm going with an Xth metal approach with this.
The metal is lethal to humans in large enough doses (like lead or mercury), but a baby born to parents who have non-lethal amounts of it their bodies will have a higher tolerance to it. And if that baby grows up being exposed to trace amounts of Xth metal and their future spouse is the same, then their baby will have an even higher tolerance to it. Eventually it will reach the critical point where the amount of Xth metal in a successive generation is high enough for them to have a chance at gaining a power.
The power will only manifest if a person has a strong desire. Jonas wanted to know more, he wanted that a lot. His family has him set on a path where they feel he only needs to know about business or how to run a company. After being denied knowing more, he developed a power that would let him know more about anything he wanted without needing permission.
It activates with her makes a square with his pointer fingers and thumbs and looks through it, he can make the panel it forms bigger after it has appeared. He'll tell people it's just a trick that lets him focus better.

Every character who has a power also having a strong desire associated with it opens up their backstory is what I'm thinking.

A generational thing then. I like it, if you want you can even make it so that there are people knowing and purposely breeding superpowered individuals, maybe some elite families.
But probably this is beyond the scope of the story you want to tell.

That very well may be the case, though exposure to the trace amounts of the metal is very regionally based. One character might be the result of intentional Xth metal build up, but I don't know who. The character roster isn't even full for this story yet.
When the alien gets the pure sample of the metal, he can ingest it without issue since he is conventionally unkillable. It would instantly kill a human though. Someone has probably tried it before and the sample would have had to have been cut out of the human corpse.

Guess I'll just keep replying to this since the thread keeps dying.

                >How do they develop their powers? Is it important for the story?
Thinking about this, I'd say it is important since not everyone has powers and the ones who do would want to keep them under wraps from those who don't. If it's something that can be taught or learned then no, that person is going to show it off like you wouldn't believe.

The alien already has his innate alien powers, but wants more powers on top of that, so how to get these power is important to the story. The problem arises with why characters with powers already have them before the story starts.

                >Anyway, how much would you (or anyone else here) say you'd need to change something you're copying until it can stand on its own?

Not that anon, but every character that I've taken from Cinemaphile to create something never 100% match whats on the wiki. Artist interpretation i think. my version of Nicky Two-Vests kinda evolved into a lazy cop figure, Manny as a misguided extremist, and Colette as a disenchanted hero dealing with situations above her pay grade. And i don't mean world ending, dangerous situations, but like people doing dumb things sometimes. You'd think the cops would deal with those normal situations but it takes them like two hours to get to a robbery or smthn (depends on traffic ig, they can't magically appear at the scene yknow).

Nicky Two-Vests being lazy at his job while NTH continues to blame him for being white will either exhaust or encourage him to be a better hero in the future, idk. I wrote a little excerpt about Nicky a while back that put him in that heroic light from the Cinemaphile wiki, but maybe it'll be good to start Nicky off as someone who wasn't that serious at being a hero until later on. Especially because NTH is constantly shit talking and harassing Nicky

                NTH is purposely petty

I always thought all the heroes didn't come off as heroic in those is because we were seeing them through NTH's jade colored visor.

                Anonymous

Maybe. Most of the heroes i redraw from the wiki comes from experience irl. Its how i continue to draw something that feels authentic and somehow also venting

NTH grew up in memphis so i can draw a lot of people on drugs in his neighborhood and crime stuff that other people in his area see as normal. His opportunities were really limited growing up. Chances are that even though he's a smart kid, a lot of people around him have a tendency to bring him down to their level and he does eventually succumb to it and turn to crime to fit in.

Hes the 'damage has already been done' kinda guy and i don't plan on him having a heroic epiphany anytime soon. Most characters that i concentrate on are the kind that are used to getting beaten down so theyll need a big inward journey to have their mindset changed. Also a lot of them are pretty selfish individuals, so i don't think something cliche as love or friendship will get them out of their mindsets.

People like NTH and Newman are closed off individuals so a death showdown is most likely an imminent possibility

Give or take, nothing i wrote has been concrete. I have been drawing short humor comics. Long-term comics might have a chance at making things more dramatic but thats in a very distant future.

That started the JCinemaphile was someone drawing Nicky and Manny high-fiving.

                >There was a lot of art after that over many years, but never much of Manny actually putting on other costumes and showing off other powers.

I'm going with the latter. Plus I think with the plot that I have going on, Nicky will probably end up defecting from the Justice Cinemaphilemrades and Manny will probably end up a terrorist. Jetpack Viking and Colette will end up having to run the Justice Cinemaphilemrades.

                >Nicky is lazy at his job because he would rather hang out with normal cops than superheroes. He doesn't have powers like everyone else- and really he is not all that powerful- but doesn't want to say anything about it because he's inwardly stubborn ig. There was a time when Nicky didn't think much about it, but things change

                >Nicky finds NTH annoying but NTH seems the only villain who pays alot of attention to him, even if its negative attention

                >If they somehow become friends it's because they're talking about people they know who are killers- Manny becoming a terrorist and Newman already having a high body count at this point

Yea I decided that the people whod most likely kill would be Manny and Newman.

I'll probably make a lot of secondary characters that will not live long. Like an old partner of Marley's dad.

I guess the hope would be it engages discussion of the character or characters question. The Blueblood strip engendered a fairly extensive bit of writehomosexualry, for example, and the Rebound content drops usually get some discussion going.

You really trust the mortal kombat team these days?

Have you played MK1? Fastest paced 2D fighter on the market right now, with some of the most diverse character picks at high level play. You could certainly do worse.

Well it animates at 60FPS without hitstop. I guess for someone primarily familiar with Japanese style fighting games that might be strange. Though Tekken is similar but more weightless and I never see complaints about that.

Regardless, I highly recommend actually playing things before drawing conclusions about them. Third party sources inevitably have their own biases.

If your /coc/ character of choice had a wienertail made after them, what would it be?
Keep in mind, it doesn't have to be something that they would personally like drink, it just has to represent their powers/personality.
    My guesses are:

    >Jackhammer: Jack and coke/apple juice
    >Ladybug: Cherry cola and rum served in a shot glass
    >Knightingale: some variant of blue lagoon
    >Crackdown: coffee-infused vodka/liquor that you're supposed to down with half a can of redbull

I'm not nearly experienced enough of a drunkard to attempt making anything from ground-up, I have no idea what goes well with what.

Well it wouldn't be all pure alcohol (you use the 95% variety). The spicy one I had in mind when I said challenge wienertail reveals it's true power the following day when you take a shit, so you thoroughly regret drinking it, but I understand that it's probably not what you had in mind.

          >Crackdown shooks his head.

          >"She's Tammy!" Jackhammer answers, glancing at the girl with a smile. "I rang the intercom at random and she was the one who let me in!"
          >"I always dreamed to be saved by a handsome hero!" Tammy says.
          >Now it's Ladybug who shooks her head.

            >"I don't think it was a good idea to let a stranger in," she says, putting a hand on Tammy's shoulder, "especially a so called superhero!"
            >"LILA!? WHY–!" Ladybug exclaims, before immediately covering her mouth.
            >Lila turns to her and smiles.
            >"Lovely Ladybug! I'm surprised to see you... apparently as much as you're surprised to see me! How come?"
            >"Ehm... you know..." says Ladybug, squirming. "I just didn't expect it!"
            >"Got it" Lila says.
            >Then she points at Crackdown and Jackhammer.
            >"Are these two your friends?"
            >Ladybug moves her gaze from one to the other.

            >"No."
            >"That hur–"
            >Lila raises her voice and adresses those present.

            >"Right," Jackhammer says to Crackdown, "why are we here again?"
            >"Because of that guy over there" says the latter, pointing to Le Bump.
            >Lila turns toward Le Bump and raises an eyebrow.
            >"Bonsoir Monsieur" she says. "Êtes-vous aussi un super-héros? Ou un malfaisant?"
            >"Non Madame," answers Le Bump, "I'm just un aventurier!"
            >Lila stares at Crackdown with a sarcastic expression.
            >"I guess you're here for nothing!"
            >Crackdown lower his gaze and turns his back at her.
            >"I guess you're right" he says with a low voice. "Then I'll leave the rest to Ladybug here."
            >"What!?" Ladybug exclaims, as he raises his leg like he was climbing on an invisible step. "Didn't you say–"

                The Joker classic.

There's actually a good chance that he might survive a fall fro a building that's around 15 stories high or lower.

                Does he know that?

Or just open up a crack mid fall.

Presumably he wouldn't do that if the intent was to pancake himself.

                Most likely not.
Arthur is only somewhat aware of the fact that the laws of physics tend to skew themself for his benefit due to the fact that there's no real way to quantifiably measure the full extent of this side of his abilities (and he wouldn't go around flinging himself off cliffs just to test himself, believe it or not). He'll probably won't even figure out that his aging's decelerated until he's in his early 40s or something.

Golden Girl is a comic book within the /coc/verse, so there might conceivably be conventions for fans of the comic. This provides a hopefully humorous counterpoint to the lightly-attended IBTC (Itty Bitty Titty Committee) picnic for small-chested heroines.

It was a request. There is an anon who considers Shark Lass, among others, worthy of entry to the IBTC, and enjoys having them gather for shenanigans regardless of hero/villain status. Perhaps they will go to GoldenCon after, perhaps it's a scheduling conflict with the picnic, or perhaps they abstain out of solidarity for their less-endowed sisters. After all, virtually everyone is "flat" compared to Golden Girl.

Overall, don't take it too seriously. It's a shitpost doodle and doesn't need to be seen as canon. For one thing, Stella Starlight is there, and she isn't even part of the Cinemaphileverse.

The Developing Adventures of Golden Girl Audrey is anywhere between 13 to 17. High school age until she turns 18/Graduates high school, where she becomes Bullion.
So I'd say probably like 12, that gives her a whole year of her under Sarah's wing "undeveloped" as it were.

Could always go by Robin rules since she already borrows so much from him.

Anons who mostly writegay for one/handful of same characters: do you feel the same way about them as pic related?

Yeah. To me that's letting the character be a person rather than an extension of the story I'm telling.
When I have a good grasp of a character I end up writing all kinds of scenes in the moment with them that I didn't plan for because the character in my mind behaves in a way that is different from what the narrative idea dictates.
The most difficult part I think is building up a character enough so they have enough of a personality to take on this life of their own.

There was a comic idea about that, only for Christmas.
Where Sarah is panicking to find something Audrey would like for Christmas, so she just gets her a bunch of different very expensive stuff. But what Audrey's most excited about is an old toolbox left behind by Lucia when she was setting up some decorations that got buried under the gifts.

When I write I feel lucky if I have the foggiest idea of what I'm doing. Knowing for certain how a character should act in a specific situation would be pure bliss for me.

      Anonymous

Yeah, when you're familiar with a character it's very common for things to progress without a whole lot of intent on your part. Thinking through how a character would react in a given situation is a big factor of whether I choose to explore that situation in the first place.

I don't have firsthand experience with it, but a friend of mine in a chat group once had a fanfic she was writing go on several chapters longer than she originally envisioned effectively because the characters kept being themselves.

In a weird way yeah. I kinda do.
That's kind of why I realised that I want to pivot away from "fidgeting anime girl" brand of shyness for Arthur into lethargy and general apathy: it just kind of hit me one day that it's just not how he'd behave, no matter crippling his social anxiety is.

The story resolution starts and ends with one or two characters in mind, then as I remember the agency of other characters who are related in some way (family, class, etc), they influence a new resolution that starts as a split branch and then eventually replaces the one before it. In this way a story sometimes ends up with four or five new drafts

I mean in a way I feel that once i wrote so much about my characters and at least tried to give the important ones a distinct voice and traits, I started to understand how they feel and how they would act in a particular situation so in a way my characters are forcing me to change some aspects while writing.

      Anonymous

Actually yeah. Often times when I'm brainstorming I think moreso "what would _ do?" rather than "what would I want to happen". More often than not the narrative is following their lead rather than the other way around.

      Anonymous

If I don't write it, the character can't do it. That's it. Anything else is weird romantic mysticism.

However, there ARE times when what I planned my character to do and what I realise they would more likely do based on how I have written/understood them are different. This does not mean I cannot adjust the circumstances to change the most likely response if I have to.

I am, in the end, a writer and not a shaman.

        Anonymous

I run into stumbling blocks occasionally where I think "the character should have learned from previous events so they wouldn't make this mistake again". Even though the mistake is what progresses the plot. So I end up having to choose between what'd make sense for the character to want to do or what makes sense for me in terms of telling the story.
This is how plot holes are born, or something.

          Anonymous

My usual solution to this is as I stated: not to force the plot along the same line or allow the character to derail it (unless that direction is genuinely better), but to alter the situation itself. If the character learned a lesson and shouldn't make a mistake I 'need' them to make, then I need to either change the earlier moment in the story so that they don't learn that thing, or I need to change the reason they make a decision in the moment by changing the outside stressors that cause it.

Alternatively, I change the situation completely. If a character needs to 'act recklessly' but they have previously learned not to do so, then I change the situation so that there is some time pressure or reason they would logically become panicked, or else the antagonistic force takes a different action to force the worse decision for a reason other than recklessness.

It's not always easy, but it's how one avoids writing off on a tangent that leads to a dead end.

I oftentimes know my characters less than I know myself, which is impressive to say the least. Despite that, usually in my day-to-day life I experience something what I've come to dub the "Touch of God". I want to preface this by saying I'm not Christian.
You see, I believe that human creativity is actually relatively simplistic at its core. Do you ever notice that when you sit down to brainstorm an idea, what you come up with is never as good as what you imagine when "inspiration strikes"? Creativity is the sort of thing that works out better the LESS effort you put into it. Stories-- especially ones with meaningful messages and themes, aren't actually works of Man. They are works of God manifested through the unique hand and psychology of Man. They're the sort of things that can only be created with a union between the mundane humanity of the physical world and the divinity of Godliness. In this sense, human creativity is less of a function of the mind itself and moreso an antenna for Divinity. When inspiration strikes, it comes from nowhere, with no explanation, and yet when it happens-- you couldn't fathom you using ANY other idea! This is God reaching down from his Throne and gifting you with a small vision of the future-- a tiny fracture of the reality of the story you're being told. No truly great writer has ever "written" their works. Those works are spoken to them by God, and they only translate the visions of alternate worlds into our reality.
That is to say-- I don't write my works, and I don't know how my characters operate or think. Especially not Percinnius. God does however, and when inspiration strikes, I learn about the characters as I'm 'writing' them. Until all of the pieces fit together perfectly, creating a whole much more cohesive and 'right' than I could create alone.
      That makes sense, right?
P.S don't expect anything new soon I've been busy with life stuff and homebrewing a TTRPG campaign to play with myself.

You'd get along great with the Clockwork Prophet, with theology like that. The Cult believes in religious epiphanies much like what you describe, a touch of "creative madness" or a vision of the Platonic Realm.

I understand your point and agree with some aspects of it.
But I respectfully disagree on the grounds that if my moments of clarity are not the result of my accumulative life experiences then I do not truly exist.
I must believe that it is my own volition and desire that enables me to tell a story, even if I tell it poorly. To be labeled as a divine conduit I feel diminishes my own existence/free will.

If a part of God exists within all things so that God may live vicariously through the combined experiences of everyone, then so be it. But that part of God which has elected to be a piece of the person which I am will have no more claim on whatever works I may create than any other part of myself.

If that makes any sense at all.

    >Dynamo League Smalls: Inside The ValibersHousehold.

    >After a long day of studying in the academy, the young hero in the making Damon Valiber went home.
    > After taking the bus and walking for a few hours, he reached his house.
    >The ValibersMansion, which is owned by the Former hero and now popular music artist Paul Valiber or Soundslinger, and Damon Lives there with his eleven half-siblings.
    > Through the years Souldslinger was in a lot of affairs and relationships but made sure to take full custody of all of his children after years of convincing from his managers and PR team and even his friends and family.
    > Every one of the children has music or sound-related abilities, so living inside the house was hard for normal people but the kids soon learned how to live together.
    >Damon reached the gates and opened it, he heard the sound of a loud bass drop and he sighed.
    >"Ella and Bella, I SWEAR TO GOD!!" Damon shouted.
    > As Damon started walking to the mansion, he saw one of his half-brothers sitting in the garden, he was playing the violin beautifully.
    >"Hey Frédéric! NICE PIECE AS ALWAYS!"Damon said and waved.
    >Frédéric played some notes and smiled.
    >"Yeah I had a great day thanks for asking, "Damon answered and smiled back.
    >"Hey Damon, what's up Partner?!" a voice said.

      >"Well sorry to hear that partner, say you want to go have a good time this weekend?" Hank asked.
      >"Well I don't know Hank..."
      >"Come on Damon, just me and you in the lake fishing and having a good time," Hank said to him after he warped his arm around Damon's Neck.
      >"That sounds really good..."
      >"We are gonna have a good time, shots of tequila and beers.."
      >"Hank.."
      >".And we can take shots."
      >"Hank"
      >"Yes Damon?"
      >"I can't drink yet I'm still a teen, but sure we can go fishing if you want, "Damon said with a smile.
      >"That's the spirit!" Hank yelled and petted his Brother's head.
      > After that, Damon finally reached the mansion and went to his room, it was gloomy and gothic.
      >Damon sat down in his bed and took a deep breath, he started overthinking about something.
      > After a few minutes, he heard knocking on the door.
      >"It's open!" he yelled.
      > No response was heard and the knocking started again.
      >"I SAID THAT IT'S OPEN!" he shouted.
      > Again no response and the knocking started again.
      >Damon pissed and started stomping on the doors"Are you deaf?! I said it was...Oh shit"
      > In the door was Damon's younger half-brother, Ludwig who was actually deaf.
      >Damon Felt bad and tried to make it up to him, he smiled and started talking with him in sign language.
      >"Oh hi buddy!" Damon signed.

        >"Hello older brother, where were you all day?" Ludwig signed

        > Ludwig's eyes sparked and started to smile after Damon mentioned the academy, he got excited and started running around while laughing hysterically.
        >Ludwig runs at the speed sound which makes him a little hard to control but Damon learns how to deal with him when he starts running around the house.
        > Before Damon had to use his ability Ludwig was stopped by another Sibling, Clara who was able to stop Ludwig by just calculating when and where he would stop and gave him some candy.
        >"That will do," Clara said with a smile.
        >Damon smirked and shrugged, "You always know Clara, somehow you always know where he will stop."
        >Damon smiled and felt joy inside him, he might be the middle child of the siblings, the fifth child to be more specific but he always felt like the oldest son except in moments like this when an older sibling helped him with his younger ones, in that moments Damon feels warmth knowing that he's not alone.
        >and what made this day special to him was that on this day all of his siblings were home, and that was what Damon planning for serval weeks now, and wanted to make sure that the DInner would be memorable.
        > Later that day the whole twelve siblings sat for dinner, and as they started eating Damon looked around and saw all of his half-siblings eating together for the first in a long time, Damon Felt like he was part of a large family again and that was all that he asked for.

            Also, writers note:
1-all of the Soundlslinger are named after musicians and singers:
            >Damon Johnson
            >Bella Thorne
            >Ella Fitzgerald
            >Frederic Chopin
            >Hank Williams
            >Ludwig Van Beethoven (yes ik it's not that clever)
            >Clara Schumann

Resistance can mean having difficulties with entering, not just unwillingness. And besides, do you think he'd be a proper rape horse if he got hung up on little things like that?

Picking out a real name for a character is tricky. My first pick ended up being the name of a soccer player when I ran it through google.

Wait, how much taller Arthur's supposed to be than Lila anyway?
There's an entire head worth of height difference between this pic and

Poor Arthur needs a wingman like Kurt. He'd say "Look, a distraction" to Arthur and convince Lila to cheese it out of there in the heat of the moment

Le Bump and the gang cover for Crackdown as he recovers from passing a kidney stone

        1. Arthur's internal damage heals gradually.
        2. The experience alone would warrant him to take a day off at least.

It's similar in effect, but works on a completely different principle: while healing factor produces new tissue via advanced biological processes, Arthur's already existing cells simply "revert" themselves into undamaged state.
He's kind of like Crazy Diamond in that regard.

Question is do both SQ and GG have the same no kill code as Batman or kill if necessary?

        Anonymous

They'd definitely not be allowed to kill during the Code's effect.

        Anonymous

SQ killed loads of people during the war. Enemy soldiers.

They'd definitely not be allowed to kill during the Code's effect.

The code also makes it so people can't have PTSD. It just rips that part of your soul out.

Even after the code is gone, I think they'd still have a no kill rule. Mainly because Audrey was raised on that and Sarah wouldn't want to disappoint her. It probably messed up an entire generation or three.

          >The code also makes it so people can't have PTSD. It just rips that part of your soul out.
That's kind of interesting. I suppose it could have helped SQ out, in that respect.

            Anonymous

That part of your soul goes somewhere with all the other bits of ripped out souls and physically removed things and it's not a fun place to end up.

              Anonymous

Well that's significantly less interesting, but I suppose it makes sense if it's supposed to be an antagonistic force.

What did you think it was?

Nta. Is that a particular place? I didn't know these things about the GG universe.

It was a major plot point of the Bullion scripts, so I can't really blame you for not knowing since hardly anyone would go out of their way to read scripts.

                >What did you think it was?
Just the notion that there are some for whom the Code's strictures might have beneficial side effects. A suppression of certain traits rather than "I've sent part of you to Hell."

                Anonymous

Oh, SQ absolutely had some benefits from having her trauma taken away. Anyone that knew her before and after noticed the change in her demeanor/candor right away, but also would be aware of her having some sort of memory loss they'd be prevented from ever being able to bring to her attention.

I called it the void and anything sent their ended up mashed together because there was nothing else for it to be pulled towards. It became a big collection of unresolved trauma held together by gravity in the absence of anything else.
If the rest of a person ends up there then their expunged parts can recombine with them and if the trauma finds any resolution, they won't be pulled under. Granny Glory went through that, but since she had years of being separated from her war stress she was able to not let it pull her under with all the life she had been living before being reunited with it.

    >Jackhammer sighs.
    >"I'm just trying to help you, man!" he says, then he turns to Lila:
    >"Yes, please! Grab him!"
    >"JACK! I'LL KILL YOU!"
    >Ladybug watches as Lila and Tammy go help Jackhammer, while Crackdown writhes in panic.
    >She look at Le Bump, who takes a croissant from under his French basque and bites it as he stares at the others.
    >"We can't go away..." she murmurs to herself, then she shouts:
    >"He makes things happen by saying his own name! This French guy has reality bending powers!"
    >"Does that mean he's invincible?" Jackhammer asks, pulling an agitated Crackdown.
    >"I don't know!" Ladybug answers. "Conrad told me about the Cosmic Ones who can alter the multiverse, maybe he's one of them!"
    >"Who mentioned what?"
    >"Conrad! The Cosmic Ones!" Ladybug says. "But I wasn't really listening to him, his kid was climbing on my head!"
    >"Aaw, that's cute!" Tammy exclaims.
    >"But that doesn't tell us anything" Lila says. "Did this person mention Mr. Le Bump or something to you?"
    >"He..." Ladybug says. "He told me some names, but I don't remember..."
    >"LE BUMP NEVER FORGETS!"
    >"Ah!" Ladybug exclaims, snapping her fingers. "There was Whisper! The guy who appears as soon as you think about him!"
    >"Yes," Whisper says, "I was there, but you missed me because Cookie covered your eyes."

And now you have to imagine Whisper shaped like Ladybug, Lila, JackHammer, Crackdown, Tammy, and Le Bump because that's how it works.
It can only be perceived as a reflection of the looker.

When you are supposed to be an infinite void, being confronted with another infinite void immediately demolishes your self worth since, by definition, there cannot be two infinities.

And can't it act a little through Arthur?

                >and can't it act a little through Arthur?
"Nothing" by it's nature can't be proactive because it's quite literally defined by *not* being a *thing*. However, that "nothing" can be given vector by Arthur's being, as the one is miraculously woven into another.
That's also why I feel like he would retain his powers even after swapping bodies with someone.
