The worst part for me is that X Season 2 showed a decent adaptation of the games was possible.
Even with Chris forced into the plot, the SA1 and SA2 arcs (plus a very small handful of original story episodes) are the only good part of those seasons.
I respect the decision to end it due to personal life and getting older, but why aim for 40+ minutes in the first place? Surely he could have truncated it to 10 minutes and still hit all the important plot beats. Or have the conversations take place in an RPG chatter screen that recycles assets, like Sonic Battle.
I'm glad he's doing what he wants to do and focusing on his life. I hope to stumble back to his channel for no particular reason and see him working on a new project and being happy.

The animation of parts 1 and 2 have aged like milk, but part 3 still holds up pretty well if you ask me.
