>Ben 10: UA Episode 39
>Kevin rages at Albedo
>"He's risked his life a hundred times for people he didn't even know -- for slobs like me, for jerks like you!"
>"He's a hero, and more important... He's my best friend."
Were Ben and Kevin... EVER actually friends in the series??
Outside of this line, I do not remember them having a good friendship, like, at all.
They were enemies in the OG series, and Omniverse onward should never be touched upon, ever.
But throughout AF and UA, they were very toxic to each other.
Majority of their scenes was just them arguing with one another, throwing insults, acting sarcastic, Kevin threatening violence and Ben just being disrespectful or riding a high horse.
Other than that, they only ever acted like acquaintances or teammates to one another. They never seemed to actually LIKE being around one another and only force themselves to team up and tolerate the other for a mutual benefit.
Like, I remember watching every single episode and I cannot recall a single intimate or friendly scene between them. So this line of Kevin calling Ben his Best Friend just sounds inaccurate and forced to apply a meta narrative that doesn't actually exist in the story.
How am I meant to buy that Kevin is Ben's best friend when all they ever did to one another was treat the other like dirt?
I'd love to get proved wrong, though.
Save the universe together = best friends
Simple as.
Damn right.
Are you a woman OP? You sound like a woman.
Anon is right. Just abit of banter between them alot of the time. You can disagree and piss each other off but still respect each other for who they are. Like other anons said, they do have friendly moments together but saving each other and the universe would make best friends out of anyone despite any petty grievance with each other
If OP was a woman then she'd be asking why Ben and Kevin aren't fucking
Why was young Kevin so autistic? Bro could have been drowning in e-boi Gwen pussy.
are you a virgin? that's exactly what OP is asking between the lines.
Fucking this.
Male friendships is filled with busting each other's balls and insulting each other.
It's how I can tell so many current "boy" shows are written by women who have no clue what male friendship is like.
>Male friendships is filled with busting each other's balls and insulting each other.
Sounds like you just have shit friends
>Sounds like you just have shit friends
Why is there always this effete, Euro, "be a good FUCKING person", response to any mention of friendly roasting or grievances with friends
>sounds like you just have shit friends
sounds like you have no friends at all lmfao, you're a bigger homosexual than any gay guy
My condolences, hope you'll find real friends one day.
My condolences, hope you kill yourself one day.
Yes. Real friendship is full of that and even worse things. The thing you homosexuals don't understand is that real friendship is rooted on complete trust. I can hit my friend in the balls while he's sleeping because I know he knows that we're messing around. He's not gonna get angry about it because he knows my intentions are not bad. We can throw the most horrible insults at each other because we know who we are and we know none of it is really meant to hurt each other. If you always have to be on your guard with your friends with everything you do or everything you say, then it's not real friendship. You're barely more than acquaintances.
t. bully with no friends
seethe
Ever seen Jackass?
>he thinks reality TV is real
do millenials really?
Look up how Jackass was created.
oh you bet i'm looking at a real jackass right now.
>If you always have to be on your guard with your friends then it's not real friendship
>I can hit my friend in the balls while he's sleeping
quite a trip to the mind of the average AF fag. No wonder Ben tried to murder Kevin that one time.
30+ year old
20+ year olds
Eat ass zoomers
You should like a four-eyed pussy who uses the word "toxic" unironically
There's friendly banter and then there's just outright hostility. Ben and Kevin are usually either hating each other or treating each other like coworkers.
>busting each other's balls
figuratively and literally
There are no women on the internet silly anon.
Only for a brief time in the OG series, before Kevin was convinced Ben betrayed him and broke his heart. Otherwise no, they were never friends. They used him more as a means of transportation and drama when they couldn't think of anything to do
Omniverse is literally peak
Apologize
They're bro's which is deeper than friends.
>arguing with one another, throwing insults, acting sarcastic, Kevin threatening violence and Ben just being disrespectful or riding a high horse.
Literally how male best friends act.
No?
Friendly Banter, and calling each other shit in good taste is normal.
Actually butting heads all the time isn't normal.
There isn't even a lot of friendly riffing between them, they don't really interract much at all.
What are you talking about, Kevin fucks with Ben when he takes him and Julie to their date and Ben calls him a homosexual for liking in-universe Twilight.
Yes, those are two examples across 98 episodes. I said there wasn't a lot, not that there wasn't any
>I said there wasn't a lot,
But there actually were.
Two examples isn't a lot
>Omniverse onward should never be touched upon, ever
nagger opinion discarded.
>doesn't like omniverse
Leave.
You definitely didn't watch paying attention. Out of the top of my head, the episode where Gwen had her dance. Kevin went straight to Ben for help. How is that not friendship? In season 3 finale, Kevin tells Gwen he can't spend the afternoon with her because he had stuff to do and that stuff was being with Ben all afternoon watching his cartoon. Sure he got bored and left but the fact he agreed to spend time with him rather than her gf should say something about their friendship. Also Kevin straight up tell him he considers him his best friend in the Perplexahedron episode.
>they don't interact
did you retards forget that ben and kevin have been seen hanging out alone at ben's house on multuple occasions? why would anyone let a person they don't consider a friend chill in their home?
True. Black guys may have people they CALL friends, and they call them over to hang out...but they never let them in. Instead, everybody stays out on the porch. I'm thinking the white version of this is just calling someone and arranging to meet them somewhere to hang out, instead of inviting them over to their house.
Well, it's hang out not hang in.
Are you black?
>Omniverse onward should never be touched upon, ever.
Well if you're gonna draw lines in the sand.
In the OG series, Ben thought Kevin was like him and Kevin efectively stabbed him in the back, spat in his face when he was offered mercy, and mocked him for ever trusting him the first place.
In AF, it's Ben's trust he has to earn, since Gwen is basically head over heels for him at that point. It's by sticking with them to the end, saving each other's lives and watching each other's backs that their friendship actually comes to be.
Friends aren't just people you hang out with, or whose interests you share. Ben trusts Kevin to watch his back and protect his family. He knows Kevin will put his life on the line to protect people, and that he wants to be a part of his family, basically taking the offer he gave him to join them in his first episode.
Sure it could have been written better, but it's not that hard to believe.
Of course they're besties
