What 80's references will we see in Stranger Things season 5?

Season 5 would likely be set largely in 1987-1989 time period, what references can we expect?

I think we will definitely get a Top gun reference (maybe is steve survives, he could spoof tom cruise persona), this is also the period when soviets started to unravel, so we may see foreshadowing of soviet collapse too.

What else do you have in mind in terms of music, society, literature etc.?

GRUNGE to finally kill off the homosexualty pop shit

      >grunge
...Was not even a blip on the radar in the 80's. Indie music consisted almost solely of REM and 10,000 Maniacs as far as the charts were concerned. They're going with recognizable nostalgia, not before-they-were-big stuff only a handful of people in the PNW are going to know.

We may see sex scene between the two main leads (el and mike) in season 5 (non nude of course).

      >also didn't they used to have a black?

He's still there, just not in this pic

      >The Stranger Things creators confirmed that season five is indeed going ahead, in an open letter to fans published via Netflix in February. However, they also announced that series five would unfortunately mark the end of Stranger Things.

Hopefully it gets cancelled before then since the late 80's was a fricking dump. Or maybe they can all die of AIDS while listening to some shitty proto-gangsta hip hop.

Because after a 3 year hiatus with Cinemaphile predicting no one would care s4 just became Netflix most watched English language production ever. Beaten only by squid game and some Spanish heist movie overall. ST and the promise of more ST to come is the only thing keeping their creditors back at this point.

It's pretty moronic that after all these years of trying they only have 1 successful original show, how are they this shit at making tv shows?

          Anonymous

Their method seems to have been to throw an ass load of money at every vaguely good idea or anyone remotely famous who wanted to produce something with very little quality control.
Which is why even at the height of the pandemic when they were the biggest studio on earth they still made a net loss of billions and why their catalogue is barely worth looking at.

It's fricking unreal, you'd think with all the money they had been taking in they would steal some people from HBO or something to run their original programming department, and the money they spend on these shows is fricking stupid, 35mil per episode for stranger things, it's fricking insane game of thrones most expensive episode was only 8 million in comparison, how are they spend almost 5 times as much on every stranger things episode, if I was a share holder I'd be wanting to see heads roll after this level of wasted spending

Have you seen the movies they come out with? I thought the Ryan Reynolds time travel one was bad, but the latest one with Hemsworth and Miles Teller is unwatchable. It's like the old Netflix movies like Mute or Titan, 100% garbage

It would have been better if the fourth season didn't have to deal with the moronic loose ends of season 3.

They had a human being dissolve in front of them, yet they weren't scarred by it at all.

Final fantasy refrences. Even if its set summer of 87 they don't really care about exact time frame consistency as proven by the 3 point line being on the high school basketball court this court this season. Choas would be a fun final boss for the series
