That just raises further questions.
They're jerking off side-by-side, holding hands, but one of them has to leave so the other can jizz? And the blonde one is happy about her jo sesh being halted like this? I can jack off to a lot, but this is inexcusable
>Dorothy thinks Joyce should jerk off to get over Joe. >She takes Joyce (blonde girl) to the laundry room >She tells Joyce to sit on the dryer . >Joyce complains that she feels silly doing it alone so Dorothy joins her. >Dorothy pulls up sexy stories on her phone and gives it to Joyce. >Joyce is getting a bit horny and Dorothy offers her hand to help calm her. >Joyce gets more into it and Dorothy tells her she can use her fingers >Joyce says "no" and that asking makes her not wanna do it >Joyce apparently reaches her limit and tells Dorothy to leave cuz clearly she doesn't wanna go all out while she's in the room. >Joyce cums her brains out and then walks down the hallway with no pants.
>coerce your friend into jerking off in front of you to “teach her how to do it” >hold your hand while shes doing it >kicks you out when it’s time to climax
lmao
Most women don't jerk off with their friends, as far as I'm aware. At most, I've only seen them joke about it, allude to it, or perhaps even ask actual advice if they're comfortable enough with it. Same goes for webcomics. Like, even as a storyline for some kind of gag, it makes no sense outside of it being the artists not-so-hidden fetish.
>it makes no sense outside of it being the artists not-so-hidden fetish
Which is incorporated to the story to build up their friendship, which he will play ignorance. By bad women's comedy i mean down right awful writing that is to be expected from such media.
>masturbation to move the storyline or provide character development
He's not the first to do it, but this is probably the worst example of it. Other shows and comics at least make it somewhat realistic.
It's portrayed as an awkward friend moment that furthers builds their friendship. It's like a bad women's comedy
I feel like if you're going to jerk off together its rude to kick someone out as you're about to cum. That being said I would never jerk off alone with another dude so no clue.
It's so dumb... nobody would actually act like this. It's also kinda gross to jerk off on a public facility, for many reasons. Women being written by a dude who's hypersexualizing them.
This is all just the author's fetish expressed in comic form. I wish he were more transparent about this, but no author's gonna have a "hah I'm a perv" tag.
It's worse because it comes from a place of controlling. Even if we put it in a lesbian relationship, it's like that arc from Tuca and Bertie where Tuca's girlfriend basically changes everything about her.
That's Dorothy in a nutshell. If these were real people I'd wonder if Dorothy was actually Joyce's friend because she seems dismissive about everything regarding her. Dorothy comes off as a self-righteous busybody than a sincere person.
I dunno I feel like plenty of writers are like “Oh this is in here cuz I find it hot.” And honestly I respect those guys way more. At least they’re not bullshitting me.
Honestly if an artist or author just comes out and says it is just dumb horny fun for them and the readers who share his kink then I would have respect for him. But the way he treats this garbage as super serious is more pathetic than anything.
That's not what's happening though. Joyce is refusing to use her hand because that 'makes it real' and is just reading fics while the dryer vibrates. She kicks Dotty out so she can violently finger herself without Dotty seeing.
>single female jilling off
humorous/sexy >this "YOU HAVE TO DO IT IN FRONT OF ME AND ANYONE ELSE WHO COMES IN"
embarrassing and unnecessary >"SEE IF YOU HAVE AN ORGASM NOW YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO THINK ABOUT SEX ON YOUR DATE WITH THE GUY I DESPISE"
Willis genuinely believes this works the same way with women as it does in guys, that it'll be several hours before Joyce can go again, and this is coming from a dude who is not only not a virgin but a father
Dave must have jerked off into his wife's bathwater
>"SEE IF YOU HAVE AN ORGASM NOW YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO THINK ABOUT SEX ON YOUR DATE WITH THE GUY I DESPISE"
Is that the actual reason?? What sort of moronic logic is that?
buddy welcome to the webcomic world where not only did a college not close to do grief counseling where a shotgun-carrying man ran around chasing his daughter, who is not a student there, was followed up with another student being shoved off a roof by a known organized criminal who then kidnapped 4 (5?) other students and held them against their will. And never acknowledged it.
>public university in Indiana, basketball is never mentioned once
Look I don't care for apehoop either but it's as moronicly important to the uni experience there as it is in North Carolina
Also, Indiana is a Big Ten school, so generally sports are going to be a huge portion of social life on campus. Even kids who aren’t into sports are going to know about it since at least a few people in their social group are fans.

i wish willis would be outed as the hack-fraud that he is.
it's the logic that says "my male experience must be the same for females" except about a week into fricking my first GF I got the picture really quickly that most women who actually LIKE sex can go again in about 5-10 minutes
In other words he's telling everyone inadvertently that he hasn't learned a goddamned thing about sex or asked his wife
>In other words he's telling everyone inadvertently that he hasn't learned a goddamned thing about sex or asked his wife
Best exemplified in this very arc where the one girl tells the other to "pee beforehand to prevent a UTI" when in reality you're supposed to pee AFTERWARDS, and after ACTUAL SEX, to help flush out any germs that inadvertently got in the urethra during the act.
it's the logic that says "my male experience must be the same for females" except about a week into fricking my first GF I got the picture really quickly that most women who actually LIKE sex can go again in about 5-10 minutes

>Dorothy thinks Joyce finally having an orgasm will make her think clearly > but, like most Christian girls when they’re finally away at college, now that she’s experienced one she ends up craving more and goes full turbobawd
Joe was never going to take advantage of Joyce and if Dorothy would have listened to Joyce, and not patronized her by assuming that she couldn’t possibly be right about him not being a frickboy anymore this never would’ve happened.
Now we’re going to get >even hornier Joyce trying to frick Joe on their date >him pushing her away because he doesn’t want her to feel like she’s ‘ruining herself’ >Joyce freaking out because no one is listening to her
Ehhh and then it ends with either >Joe and Joyce actually having a heart to heart and going slow with the relationship, which was what they both wanted in the first place. >no communication, because we gotta drag this shit out another decade, so Joyce runs off and tries not to cry in her bed >Joe and Joyce frick, condom breaks, and we get a pregnancy arc because she’s only been on birth control for like two days so it’s still very possible for her to get pregnant
>Dorothy thinks Joyce finally having an orgasm will make her think clearly
I think the even stupider idea at work here is that women can't get horny again for hours after flicking the bean, not post-nut-clarity. Either way both are stupid takes only someone who's never paid attention to female sexuality would come up with.
>not being a frickboy anymore
Reminder that Joe has had exactly as many sex partners as Dorothy, and Dorothy originally was going to ghost Danny because she believes him to be beneath her and only hooked up with Walky for no strings attached sex. Meanwhile both Joe's partners could be considered to have only been using him.
Willis did that all the time when writing Its Walky and Shortpacked. And Jeph once stabbed his hand to spite his fans when they complained he didn't draw fat lesbian as fat enough for their tastes. Say what you will about Plebcomics, but she's 100% right in that the creators of QC and Dumbing of Age are psychotic egotists who think they're the next coming of the queerbipoc messiah.
That's not what happened with Jeph. Jeph is a depressive alcoholic on psych meds and stabbed his hand after condescending complaint sent him spiraling. It's not even the first time he's stabbed his hand; he claims the first time was an accident but most everyone thinks it was the booze.

I'll be honest, I hate Questionable Content and DOA as much as the next guy but I'm starting to think it's starting to live rent free in her head. It's not even like they're all THAT popular. I feel like she just seeks them out to be mad now.
>It's not even like they're all THAT popular.
Jeph Jacques is the 45th largest patreon by subscriber count and the number one among comic creators. His earnings are hidden, but between what he was making before he hid them and his current metrics, he's pulling in at least 6 figures a year just from Patreon. It's surprisingly huge.

This is one of the worst things I've learned in months.
Wanna know something worse? Jeph releases instrumental post-metal music under the name Deathmole and it's genuinely good music. Infuriatingly good.

QC may be shit and Jeph a spineless cartoonist, but if it means he can continue to drop an EP every few years then bring on them quirky pastel robots having milquetoast drama.
If I'm jerking it I can sometimes go again after 20-30 minutes if I'm motivated or haven't rubbed one out in a while, but usually it's less that it hurts and more that I'm just not feeling it as much. Like I can sit there and look at naked chicks but I won't really get it up unless I'm actively trying to. It takes a while for boners to go back to being an unconscious reaction instead of something I have to consciously focus on having.

probably not several hours but some women need a break if they're really going at it. The clit is still a fleshy nub that can start to feel overwhelmed after a certain point.
>Willis genuinely believes this works the same way with women as it does in guys, that it'll be several hours before Joyce can go again
Not gonna pretend the refractory period doesn't exist like some morons, but if you need more than an hour at most you should probably see a doctor about some pills anon.

Also this, women also tend to get physically overstimulated if you try to go back-to-back and do tend to need some time to recover, but again it's not generally "several hours".
Jeph Jacques is actually a good man because he literally hates and has been coerced into making his comic a revolving door of asexual neuroatypical gay robots for 12 year old girls by his psychotic fans. Dude just wanted to draw about if a cute girl came into his record shop and started dating him, eventually he can’t even self-harm his way out of a rabid BPD fanbase who attacks him with suicide threats
I don't even like QC or Dumbing of Age but this is early-2000s edgelord as frick. Durrr I have objective taste on what's good and bad and everyone else is just SHEEPLE who like the bad things because they're STUPID. Also I don't ever recall Willis or Jeph claiming they are doing anything revolutionary or making some kind of definitive statement on LGBT issues, so that part is just projection
You need to read the comment sections of his comic more often, where anyone who disagrees or questions Willis gets called out as a homophobic racist misogynist. You certainly weren't around for when Willis started claiming he really knew what women found attractive
>You need to read the comment sections of his comic more often, where anyone who disagrees or questions Willis gets called out as a homophobic racist misogynist.
Remember when Mary started being nice to Carla and the commenters started flipping out about the possibility of Mary/Carla actually becoming a thing because Mary was an evil Evangelical chudlord who deserved nothing? Like you'd think they'd be HAPPY about the idea of someone like that being revealed as actually a lesbian the whole time and getting with a transgender character at that but nope, Willis declared Mary to be Satan in the form of a girl acting as the stereotype of a George W. Bush era Republican so the fans followed suit.
because they love the fantasy of being an oppressed special creature. They don't want a world where everyone is happy. That's why they constantly look for anything to whig out about

Willis' I AM AN ALLY shtick is so overwrought that it's clearly just another way of his rebeling against his Evangelical childhood than it is a genuine push for diversity.
Wait, is this legit? I thought shortpacked ended aeons before the pronoun/gender thing started taking off.

Shouldn't you make sure you aren't completely wrong about this? Lol
Most famous ones for DoA is the infomercial page with Ross mansplaining (because it's just Willis) the fanbase about women masturbation and for Questionable content, Jeph telling people what Claire has in her pants is nobodies business even tho she's a fictional character and could have just not engaged that question at all
There's literally nothing wrong with believing your opinions are correct, and Im sick of modern kids acting like being confident is the same as hatespeech
There is nothing wrong with that, but believing that you have the objective truth and want to push that stuff to other people is the moment you become an butthole, just like most movements nowadays, like Gay people and trannoids.
>but believing that you have the objective truth and want to push that stuff to other people is the moment you become an butthole
Black person THAT'S JUST BEING CONFIDENT BUT IN A MORE EXAGGERATED PHRASING
I'll be honest, I hate Questionable Content and DOA as much as the next guy but I'm starting to think it's starting to live rent free in her head. It's not even like they're all THAT popular. I feel like she just seeks them out to be mad now.
I haven't heard from her but now I see two back to back comics criticizing DOA and QC. It just feels like a low hanging fruit. Hell I felt like she overdid it years ago. I didn't like her stuff cuz she made fun of webcomics. I liked her stuff because she made fun of dumb tumblr bullshit.
That "rent free" meme has really become over-used.
It's gotten to the point where people are implying you can't think about one thing for more than five fricking minutes without being "obsessed".
I don't even really get how people can hate Questionable Content. Not because it's good but because it's badness is just so banal and boring. It's bad in the dullest way possible by being completely fricking uninteresting. Dumbing of Age is bad because it's a great window into Willis' mind and the the issues he, to this day, has never gotten over. Even at its most dull you can still see how he's never gotten over the single semester he spent in college or his religious upbringing. And when it really gets bad it gets absolutely batshit insane.
Like this current plot. It seems rather standard fare and uninteresting except it's about a girl forcing a naive and autistic girl to jerk off by having her do the action in public by sitting on a washing machine in a public laundry as part of some weird thing to somehow kill her sex drive ahead of a date with a guy she doesn't like because he's known to be pussy hound. It's completely fricking bizarre and twisted but Willis just acts like this is totally normal and hilarious hijinks and says a lot about his own lack of understanding regarding sex.
Oops! You said what we were all thinking. I miss shortpacked, when when Willis would just autistically seethe about inane cartoon and comic and toy stuff, because that was relatable. I'M autistic, and I seethe about cartoon and comic and toy stuff all the time! But now he gets paid to make porn and so he has to make a bizarre, awkward, uncomfortable mutual masturbation thing where we see the perpetual innocent forced to cum on camera for everyone in the audience, because that will get more people to pay for the next slipshine.
I'm pretty sure this comic is saying DoA sucks, which I agree with, but holy shit I hate these "words words words" wall of text comics. Should've just been a text post, but I guess having a drawing stating your opinion makes it more valid, or something.
I don't give a frick. Post the redhead chick and that one autistic girl with the hat. I wanna see them make out and have visceral lesbian sex. Hands-grpping lesbian sex. Lip-licking lesbian sex. It's the only reason why I remember this webcomic. Couldn't care any less about the "plot", but those women? Get them to frick already, finger-style or coochie-on-coochie.
I would post them myself but I can't remember their fricking names and if I did, I wouldn't even visit this shitty board. I would be in a crappy Rule 34 genocing my offsprings.
>It's the only reason why I remember this webcomic.
I beg you not to make porn the reason to follow QC or DoA, not for bullshit moral reasons but because it will train you to tolerate the source material
i thought this artstyle looked familiar. this is all i remember of his other comic, i dropped it when it was all blanksexual drama all the time. wasnt this supposed to be about a toy store?
DoA is not THAT bad, it surely has its pure garbage moments, usually anything that tries to move the plot forward, or in general some really bad characters that have filler screentime for whatever reason, but some things are nice. I personally enjoy how the relationship between Joyce and Joe evolved, but I'm ready for Willy to ruin everything.
DoA is mostly boring punctuated by periods of rampant stupidity, QC is mostly boring punctuated by periods of rampant horniness. Neither are consistently trainwrecks.

Ah, I didn't know that wasn't an original idea. Who is Fey a knock off of?
Wasn't this comic always about atheist girls and Christian girls arguing religion in a college dorm or some shit? When did it turn into this fetish shit?
Isn't being Willis' mouthpiece for his pop psychology analyses about his own characters that character's entire reason for existing? Besides the pronoun bullshit, of course.
I don't really know what Booster's point is.
I think they were brought in just because Willis realised he was missing a non-binary character and didn't want to retcon any pre-existing characters into one.
Well even then Malaya goes by she/they now so that can’t be it. Honestly I think every characters assessment that they’re the new mike is accurate. In that Willis realized in the current era it’s hard to write a character who is an unrepentant butthole who psychoanalyzes people so that he can find clever ways to hurt them, while also spewing “your mom” jokes. So he made a new character that psychoanalyzes people out of morbid curiosity and isn’t purposely malicious about it. Booster is mike without the edge. A soft safe non gender conforming Mike.
>Singular they is long-established
...I never said it wasn't. >you just don't like using it in this context
You mean the nonsensical context which has no basis in reality and needlessly makes communication more difficult for the sake of virtue signaling and entitlement?
Yeah, you're right; I just don't like such a context.
I thought he was sucking on a pacifier in the third panel.
Those lips look extremely unnatural, although admittedly I find most prominent-lipped characters creepy.
I think the problem is that they’re so fricking red. And not in a way that looks like they’re wearing makeup. It just looks like they are a bunch of candy or got stung by bees.
2010s humor aged like milk and this comic is pretty much a lasting vestige of that era. Plus, all webcomics should have an expiration date in my opinion, or at least change from the form they originally came in.
Is there an age as a man where it becomes inappropriate to invent and illustrate daydreams about college aged girls being playful, getting into sex and having a magical sexual bond complete with mutual masturbation rituals?
Like I actually do get the wonder of growing up and the ability of older people to do good work putting a finger on it for an entire media career, that makes sense, but Walky is somehow a pathetic and and delusional in his pining over this. I’m almost torn, these moments of young saucy love and liberation do exist and are worth writing about, but with Walky I just don’t fricking believe him. I am sure real girls are out there sitting on the laundry machines together and coyly getting off, but when Walky does it in a comic I just feel like it’s so sinister. Not even because maybe he gets off on it, but because he really is inserting himself into these characters and making shit up while claiming it’s authentic. Can someone help me out here? What is the word I’m looking for? I think for all the beauty of young love and freedom from austerity, Walky is actually a huge duplicitous misanthrope trying to constantly dive in to a female teenage sex experience that doesn’t belong to him and that he makes up by childishly speculating. Again I’m certain plenty of women get into stuff like this, but the way Walky does it, it’s just some really coy and conniving emotional pornography. And he does do it with a bit of spite, somehow. I don’t know, does anyone have better words to describe this? I mean he’s basically a 40 y/o holier-than-thou chameleon trying to get his kicks faking female young adult sex experiences all by himself alone in his room. And always ALWAYS there is some lady ‘dom’ running a whole sex program for some little naive virgin girl. Am I wrong or doesn’t Walky want to literally be an 18 year old shy female college freshman being ‘coached’ and ‘coerced’ by a sex addict into playing with his pussy?
I’m obviously going insane here trying to put an exact finger on it. It’s like he is actually in a state of arrested development where all he can think about is going to college and a non-virgin teaching him how to jerk off
Don't forget he didn't actually properly go to college
To an extent, every author is lying. There's no way most authors have experienced what it's like being someone different than themselves. I don't have an issue with him writing what he doesn't know. That said this part of the story is really weird. Weirdly timed, weirdly paced, weirdly progressed, to the point where the comment section is really confused as to wether or not the narrative will see it as a positive or negative thing because it's so weird. And I don't know if Willis thinks it's weird or if he's just unaware of how weird it is. There's a chance he'll see the commenter's reactions and like...recontextualize it as bad later. He's done it before. >Dina's a weird dinosaur girl >Oh she's an undiagnosed autistic, that's why. >Amber has a superhero identity >Oh, actually Amber has DiD and Amazi-girl is a completely different separate personality despite the fact that we have seen first hand that amber purposely changed her voice to sound different >Joyce is written to have a lot of the same traits Willis had growing up. >Oh turns out I'm autistic so I guess Joyce must be too.
I'm sure after some time Joyce will confront Dorothy and be like "Hey that was weird actually" since he's seen how people reacted to it.

Don't forget he didn't actually properly go to college
Yeah honestly I just have this idea that he’s a sick sick man in this Münchausen syndrome way and I’m not sure it has to do with any individual moment in any story. It’s like he get or expected freedom from getting past what seems like a probably rough religious childhood, but he’s a malingerer who just wants to stay stuck in this exact moment where, apparently, everybody has been wrong and repressive to you but now a good samaratin is teaching you how to have sex with them. I don’t know, I think Walky is really fricked up somehow. I really do read some implicit seething and misanthropy in all his work, and it’s not just because he hates extremists. And free love or whatever isn’t wrong or anything, it’s quite beautiful really, but honesty he takes to it like a sex addict. Even though he’s doing it in fiction he really does seek constant thrill through involving himself with teenage lesbians he makes up in his head. To say he’s a groomer is too much, but man you gotta level out sometime and quit making your life journey a routine of finding haven in young sex experiences between a gender youre not a part of as a married adult with children
It’s like he had this repressive religious childhood, and because he hates that so much, he assumes any step away from it is the most wonderful perfect personalized permanent elation. Like he is so assured and holier-than-thought (probably inherited from the religion he hates) that he assumes anything he can think of outside of his prior religion must be magic. But he doesn’t know anything about any of it, he just declared himself an expert on love when he moved out of his parents’ place. He protests too much maybe?
The funny thing is that neither Dina nor Joyce show many signs of autism, particularly Joyce.

I dunno I feel like this is a bit much to gleam from this story. I feel like if Willis was really defensive about this in the comment section or on twitter I’d be inclined to agree. But as far as I know maybe he just thought it’d be hot. Or maybe he just wanted to move along to a “Joyce jerk offd on a washing” story and didn’t know how to get that to happen without prompting. It’s not like it’s the first story beat he’s written that just feels like the intro to soft core porn. It’s easy to forget cuz it’s so steeped in melodrama but Dumbing of Age isn’t particularly realistic. He had an armed man with a shotgun make a fricking Jurassic park reference during a supposedly tense portion of the story. I dunno it feels less like a “he doesn’t understand women/people” and more “he wanted to do some self indulgent horny shit.” I don’t even think he’s trying to portray Dorothy as being reasonable. She openly stated she’s doing this for petty reasons. And I’d get it if Willis was complaining that people don’t get it, or that they don’t understand why this is good and you’re an butthole for disagreeing like he did with Becky. But he’s basically been radio silent.
>Is there an age as a man where it becomes inappropriate to invent and illustrate daydreams about college aged girls being playful, getting into sex and having a magical sexual bond complete with mutual masturbation rituals?
No, but there also isn't ever an age where it's ever going to be anything other than just the author's fetish. There's nothing morally wrong with anyone of any age indulging in their own fantasies, but if you try to pass it off as anything other than that you're a fricking homosexual.
>want to literally be an 18 year old shy female college freshman being ‘coached’ and ‘coerced’ by a sex addict into playing with his pussy?
eh, it's kinda hot to think about.
The issue you're having is that both the logos and pathos are wrong.
Most of us know logically what's wrong with the scene. Why a public washing machine? How is that "learning"? The premise makes no sense.
But it would work if there were a core emotional motive you could believe, since people will still act on their feelings while lying or using bad logic. Like if these women were actually jn love and attracted to each other, they might do some pretty dumb stuff to express that while avoiding the actual subject. But that wouldn't look or feel like this.
Also you blog post is unreadable. Put a space between paragraphs, and if anyone tells you that's "reddit spacing" ignore them in the comfortable knowledge that you learn things like paragraph spacing in grade school. The spaces make this shit legible.
I’m obviously going insane here trying to put an exact finger on it. It’s like he is actually in a state of arrested development where all he can think about is going to college and a non-virgin teaching him how to jerk off
This one with Dorothy and Joyce. Lots of people calling it weird or just happy its (probably) over.
Which of course gets people writing 10 paragraphs trying to cope by saying that anyone disliking it is just projecting.
I fricking hate it because willis is a moron and is wasting time instead of showing us how the Joyce and Joe thing progress.
Sure, this Dorothy and Joyce thing is weird as frick, but it's not just that, it's also walky with that other girl I don't remember the name of because she's garbage and Booster, who the frick is booster, no one gives a shit
Either that or his wife did. I can totally picture her telling him she first jerk offd on a dryer and he was like “that’s hot, I gotta put it in my comic”
Eh. It might enhance arousal but not to the hands-free orgasm level. Especially when you're young you can get a raging boner from a lot of things, sometimes just sitting in a running car does it.
If you had a buttplug in maybe.
It works for girls, I think, because their labia point down, so it's being pressed into a flat vibrating seat.
It's the same reason girls can get wound up riding motorcycles.
It's kinda impressive how this manages to gross me out more than artists whose entire make their entire presence revolve around pissing people off with edgy drawings
If Asians can do it than I don't see why no one else can.
In order to be an edgelord you need some sort of internal morality to knowingly break. Nothing is grosser than someone genuinely unaware of how disgusting they are
Some asians have slit eyes
It’s more racist to pretend they don’t exist and only depict the ones that look like white people (that’s how SKorea got fricked up as hard as it is)
Jesus, I haven't read this comic in about five years, what the hell happened? Did Ethan and Danny ever hook up or did they continue not acting on their crush because they had to spare fricking b***h ex's feelings?
At first it was because of the ex thing. Now its because when Mike was on his deathbed and Ethan was worried about him Danny was like “Mike sucks, I hope he dies.” And then he died.
Haven't read in a while, but is there a single character aside from Joyce and Dina that isn't a raging manic pixie b***h? I dunno. Robin, maybe, she was fun.
I would absolutely hatefrick the shit outta Billie if that's what you're asking.
Billie is only good for rough sex, but she is very good for that.
Serious answers - maybe Marcie? If you can get over the ASL and pound her into bisexuality, I don’t think there’s anyone else who’s close to being better.
Canon Mary is a petty, judgmental b***h, Cinemaphile headcanon Mary is pretty much the same but we understand that in the context of DoA she's practically a saint compared the enormous buttholes that make up most of the cast.
She's a hypocrite that denigrates her boyfriend for sexual gratification while preaching piousness to everyone else.

He kept flanderizing her more and more because he was salty people (rightly) emphasized with her. She is a villain character tm and apparently multifaceted-ness isn’t allowed
It really is kinda amazing that the narrative treats Mary as this monster who everyone hates when not only does she not interact with most of the characters, her peers include a sadistic bully, a manipulative drunk, a violent crazy person, a woman who outright tried to destroy her sister's political career multiple times while dragging other people into the crossfire, and the living embodiment of privilege. Oh, and thanks to Willis being a pussy, strictly speaking never actually misgendered Carla.

You would think Willis would try to actually make Mary antagonistic instead of just some snob whose only crime is not being woke.

Eh..."I'm taking you to the boys dorm where you belong" is pretty clear misgendering. Not that that excuses anything. Carla's two personality traits are "intentionally annoying c**t" and "I'm trans," whereas if I recall right Mary wasn't portrayed as some major bigot until she finally snapped at the daffy b***h skating back and forth outside her bedroom.

That was the issue. Carla, Ruth and the rest of them continually do horrible things up and including assault, but that's all wacky high jinks, but Mary misgendering was the unforgivable act. I remember Willis freaking out because people kept pointing out this disconnect. It was hysterical

This reminded me of something posted back when the arc was happening that stuck with me.
>It's because the entire crux of this argument hinges on her having two very valid complaints. And then there is the characterization problems. Mary's a judgmental, bigoted butthole, but she's mostly self-secluding. Her transgressions are putting glue on Carla's skates, an insulting insinuation - that within the context of information presented in the comic has a completely different meaning, telling her RA to start doing her job or she'll report it, demanding to be able to lead a group prayer at a floor meeting, and using the word "queer" as a slur. Now lets look at the heroes of this arc. Carla is an intentionally antagonistic butthole and, by direct admission of the author, an attention prostitute. She was skating through the dorm halls - something that wouldn't be allowed by the rules at all and in reality could get her skates confiscated - and continued to do so after another resident asked her to stop. Ruth is a violent, barely functional alcoholic who can't even do the basic functions of an RA and has a history of physically assaulting residents. She facilitates and exacerbates her girlfriend's alcoholism, physically and emotionally abuses her girlfriend, and, instead of helping her girlfriend deal with the psychological and emotional upheaval that comes with the reality of college, makes a suicide pact with her. Mary's an butthole, Carla's a different type of butthole, Ruth is a goddamn monster. You can't have a story of justified comeuppance when your villain is equal to or better than your heroes, it's a failure of basic storytelling.
>It's pretty telling that Willis has dedicated more time to Carla and Ruth getting revenge on Mary than he has on Joyce getting roofied and nearly raped.

>Be nice to everyone
NOBODY IS NICE TO ANYONE IN THIS COMIC
I haven't read it in, what, five fricking years, but even at this point in the story that "be nice" demand was ludicrous, because somewhere between It's Walky and DoA, almost all of Willis's characters became identical dickhead snark machines always willing to cut somebody down for no reason or resort to physical assault when it's "funny." Mike being a remorseless butthole no longer landed in DoA, because EVERYONE was a remorseless butthole. Willis HAD to make Mary increasingly stereotypically transphobic because IN THE VERY SERIES OF STRIPS WHERE HER BEEF WITH CARLA STARTS, Carla's being enough of a c**t that any reasonable person would have started fricking with Carla in response. Me and several other commenters got banned for pointing out (even before the misgendering) that Mary's initial reaction was perfectly justified, Carla was being a b***h, and her gluing Carla's skates was funny and fair, not inexcusable property damage.
I can't believe I was ever emotionally invested in this shit. I think I finally snapped when Danny and Ethan agreed they shouldn't explore their feelings for each other because it'd hurt Danny's psycho b***h of an ex, and all the commenters were agreeing that they'd be TOTAL jerks to inflict that on Amber. And now I find out they're on the outs because Danny dared to say the EXACT KIND OF DICKISH SHIT Mike would ABSOLUTELY say about him if he was in a coma?
Jesus Christ, who's worse, Willis for writing all this or me for still caring?

The point was when the culture war shit started a decade ago and Willis not only threw in his lot with them but decided to do so with self-righteous "I am right and anyone who disagrees with me is wrong" zeal.
I remember enjoying Shortpacked as a wacky comic about toy store employees that pokes fun at geek culture (i.e. I'm Batman) back before that was such a common thing and then fell off at some point after the whole Drama Tag thing, which I initially assumed was just going to be a parody of comedic webcomics that try to get super serious but turned out to actually just be Willis' "I'M BEING META HAHA" way of turning Shortpacked into a dramedy. When I'd check back every so often is when he started doing LE EVIL MALE GAZE comics and I AM SILLY strawman stuff and all the other fun shit because Willis may have left Evangelicalism but Evangelicalism never left him. The judgmental, holier-than-thou attitude is still there, it just transferred to progressive social issues instead of MUH BIBLE. Then you combine it with the fact Willis is emotionally immature and has never — and probably never will — get over his childhood and the fact people just straight up get crankier as they get older and you wind up with Willis as a seemingly bitter, unhappy man whose resentment for shit has only grown despite having a family that, I assume, loves him dearly and it's reflected in his writings.

I feel like you hit the nail on the head by saying he’s basically doing the same close minded bullshit his religion did, just for progressives. He thinks it’s ok to be an obnoxious dick as long as you’re doing it for a just cause. And that’s the problem with the comic. Everyone’s isn’t on equal footing. Carla acts like an butthole constantly and consistently but she’s trans so she’s fine. Amber is dangerously unstable and violent but she never uses slurs so she’s fine. Sal literally rips off her shirt and hops on Jason’s lap during a study session but Jason is the bad guy for taking advantage of HER. Robin took Becky in, let her tank her political career and then fired her aides when they wouldn’t fire Ryan the Rapist but she was a conservative politician for a while so everyone hates her. (To be fair I blame that more on the comment section. Willis does seem to like her quite a bit.) Its not about being an butthole. It’s about being an butthole to the right people. So often do “the good guys” solve their problems by just punching a non combatant in the face or threatening them in some way and we’re supposed to cheer for them. But the second Mary uses a mealy mouthed backhanded slur (cuz Willis is too cowardly to just have her call Carla a troony or a homosexual or something) she is irredeemable and everyone hates her more than any of the other douchebags walking these halls. Like at a certain point you wonder why anyone hangs out with anyone.

>Carla acts like an butthole constantly and consistently but she’s trans so she’s fine.
The other thing is that Carla's family is rich. So rich that they're able to have custom gadgets and toys made for her and they're able to use their money to buy enough influence with politicians to keep anti-LGBT laws from being passed in fricking Indiana, a deep red state. Carla has rich parents who coddle her to the point of having influence with state-level politicians but Mary misgendered her (how could Mary intentionally do that? wasn't Carla's transgender status not public or known by the other characters at the time?) so obviously Carla has it harder.
It's just a warped worldview where anything that's LGBT is holy and sacred. The characers aren't really allowed to exist on their own merits.

Carla being rich and her family having so much influence honestly killed any message of oppression or whatever Willis was trying to make from Mary making a comment about the boys room to her. Carla is basically an elite at the college, she is untouchable and her antics and insufferable attitude shows it.
How am I supposed to feel anything if another character (who is likely a poor nobody in comparison) shits on her?

Heard a theory a long time ago that Mary actually knew Carla before she went trans.

What's the reasoning that leads to that?
Mary and Carla were close friends as children and Mary develops a puppy love crush on Carla. But Carla eventually reveals herself to be trans and Mary's entire world falls apart because her good friend and the person she likes is the thing her upbringing has told her is evil and immoral and in response she retreats more and more into it as a coping mechanism but deep down there's a part of her that still likes and wants to be with her friend. A subconscious pain that she tries to repress and so psychologically whips herself to make it go away. She believes in her faith but her over the top style is as much made to torment herself over her own conflicted feelings as it is to sermonize to others.

Given her attention prostitute nature Carla should have giant, pornstar bolt-ons that cost more than most people's cars. I know it'd kinda clash with Willis' whole asexual thing regarding Carla, but with her personality and background I'd figure she'd be running full bimbo mode with implants and cosmetic surgery.
Ruth and Billie was actually good for a while, they have jack shit to as characters do now that they've broken up
Ruth and Billie were horrifying to the point that Willis had to censor his comment section.

That's right, isn't it a thing that Mary's a weeb? I'm surprised he'd let something endearing and humanizing about her slip through like that.

Carla being openly trans is a retcon.
Contrived and insulting and deeply, deeply unhealthy, yet it was portrayed as the right thing for those characters to do. And now apparently Mike is dead and Ethan hates Danny? Terrific, now the wedge between them is a dead man instead of a living ex.
It figures that one of the few romances that felt organic (their early interactions, and Danny getting flustered, were genuinely cute) would be the one Willis had to nuke. And as [...] points out there's not much else in the way of m/m representation (which, of course, is fricking hilarious, given Willis's attempts to be King Representer). I like girl on girl as much as anyone, but the one m/m ship in the main cast was sacrificed on the altar of an ex's mental health issues. Maddening that all the commenters nodded along at the time. "Yeah, it would be really shitty for them to hook up" and shit like that.
Is Willis just incapable of writing a healthy relationship?
Bruh, did you see what he did to JoycexJacob?

joyce and jacob seemed like a really great and natural way to have Joyce transition from fundamentalism to a much healthier and more inclusive religious belief that would have benefitted her greatly. The relationship got nuked over nothing because Willis hates people being happy, even when that happiness would actually develop characters and create interesting situations..

There was a really great setup for the two of them as either a couple or close friends, only for Willis to write this completely moronic story about her pretending to be his girlfriend, which he turned out to be 100% down for, only to ditch her afterwards. Why the frick would he even go through with it in the first place if he was so freaked out by it? I'm usually not one to make highly negative assumptions about a person based on the stories they write, but I 100% believe it's because Willis is absolutely terrified to write black people because he knows the internet would tear him to shreds if they didn't like the portrayal.
Anonymous
which, yeah, i think that's a reasonable fear, despite all his actions being so fricking embarassing, he kind of is right to be afraid of writing black people, he can barely write dialog between two nerdy white men passably, and he IS one. I can only imagine how fricking stomach-inverting his writing would be of, like, a gay black female conservative or something. He might as well just make their dialog barcodes, for how well his writing would translate for them.

At the same time he has no problem writing Sarah though. It's just especially maddening because he clearly went through the effort to include Jacob as a character and keep him around, and have a whole lead-in about him and Joyce growing closer. He doesn't need a goddamn complete biography on the character, most of the cast doesn't have a personal history beyond one or two high school events.

My bisexuality is half the reason the Danny/Ethan "ope, we have to appease your ex girlfriend" thing pissed me off so much: you had a guy realizing he was bi, he could have his own arc exploring that, but instead he willingly cast his own feelings aside because God forbid a bi MALE gets his own story. For frick's sake, in a comic full of alleged same-sex chemistry, he and Ethan actually had SOME chemistry. Relatively healthy, doesn't involve alcoholism or dangerously abusive parents chemistry.

Honestly I think you’ve made a good point. There’s not really any m/m relationships in the comic. And I think it’s because for all his progressive attitudes and all his inclusivity and allyship, Willis is still a straight man. And at the end of the day he’s just more interested in women than men. Straight and lesbian relationships will last even through shitty behavior while our one main character mail relationship was a nonstarter. BECAUSE of a girl. Then mike was implied to be in love with Ethan and then immediately died. If Ethan and Danny dated Willis might have to draw a slipshines with them, less he seem hypocritical. Hell even Carla, our resident trans rep, is portrayed as wholly disinterested in sex and thinks couples and romance are dumb. Really convenient that our only trans person in the main cast has expressed that they will not every be interested in sex or dating. That’ll save Willis from having to answer some questions. The closest to guy on guy we’ve really gotten is Sahid, some background character who’s name I probably got wrong, getting a short story in “tales of sintrest” and even that felt like a “oh gooodie I can draw this real quick 1 page thing and then nobody will call me out on not having any gay sex is these.” I probably wouldn’t notice so much if Willis wasn’t so adamant about inclusivity.

It's the thing that exposes the lie, really. At the end of the day, it's a fetish which is fine, it's just annoying that it's dressed up in such a self-righteous manner because Willis knows his audience will eat him alive if he doesn't pay lip service and that's ignoring that he's probably convinced himself he's being a good ally too.

don't forget that in his slipshines every single time the dicks are basically just lines with a lump at the end, because he has no artistic desire to do it well. I mean his art sucks in general, but you can practically watch what developed skill he has drain away as your eye goes down a man's body. At the head, hey, what do you want, it's fine, it's an identifiable character, then by the time you hit the waist it might as well be stonetoss

Willis so fricking terrible at drawing dicks it's baffling. He draws dicks like he's literally never seen one before. It reminds me of how dicks in old hentai used to be drawn because censorship in japan was so bad that finding references for dicks was borderline impossible without you and your crew whipping out your packages right there. At least they had an excuse. Willis has the entire bounty of the internet. Even if he doesn't wanna look at guy's dicks he could at least look at how other people DRAW THEM.

What's baffling about it? His "LGBT ally" shtick begins and ends at his being horny over girl-on-girl stuff. He's bad at drawing dicks because he has no desire to draw or write male-on-male homosexual stuff which hey, more power to him in that regard do what you want. It's just blatant hypocrisy given the moral highground he permanently seems to think he's perched on and how he dresses up his sexual interests under the guise of progressive allyship.

I think it's less that he's incapable of writing a healthy relationship and more that those relationships aren't dramatic enough for DOA's cavalcade of angst and breakups.

He tries to balance out the drama with cinnamon buns but all we have now is the worst lesbian character ever and the awkward fetish fuel from op pic. The Danny//Ethan thing should have been looked into more. What they had was genuinely cute. But of course, all gay cis guy characters must suffer in this comic

I think it's more he just thinks boys kissing is yucky. He says the right things and screams about being an ally, but look at how he draws dicks. He doesn't like men. He refuses to even look at them from an anatomical perspective to better his art. So two guys? Never happening

I think what makes this bit work is we don’t even know what Mary wanted to do with Carla. What be mean to her? Isn’t that what she’s already doing. Isn’t Carla also already being mean to her? Carla and Mary hate each other, it is not unjustified for Mary to want to express that hatred for Carla in the same intensity Carla has shown it to her. Carla created a pie throwing apparatus that throws pies at Mary. I think If anyone did that I’d feel well with in my rights to call them a c**t to their face every day for the rest of my life.

Carla's status as trans wasn't actually known to anyone in the cast until a retcon several years after the storyline in question. In fact, outside a few implied statements a few years prior it was never brought up in-comic at all and was entirely metaknowledge. Post Toedad's Wild Ride 2 she suddenly is this well-known trans figure, which makes several strips not make a lot of sense anymore since they relied on dramatic irony.

That was the issue. Carla, Ruth and the rest of them continually do horrible things up and including assault, but that's all wacky high jinks, but Mary misgendering was the unforgivable act. I remember Willis freaking out because people kept pointing out this disconnect. It was hysterical
That's sorta the issue with DOA in general. Everything is wacky and not serious...until it is. Sal can rip off her shirt and hop in Jason's lap to initiate a sex scene and that's just a fun lead-in to the slipshine. But now all the characters have brutally realistic interactions with Jason for sleeping with a student, despite it not being treated like a big deal at the time.
There's a part of me that wishes I could draw because I've wanted to do a Marycentric comic that involves her becoming aware that "God" (Willis) seems to hate her specifically and how she deals with that and how it affects her faith.
I want to read a psychological manga where the author goes out of their way showing the characters use the bathroom with detailed shit. Like hyperscat. Everything else about the manga is normal and no explanation is provided, the plot is something else and the manga takes itself very seriously. I think it would make great humor.
i would love that. i dont give a shit about booster, and i dont give a shit about whatever has everyone so outraged over the whole "joyce getting her rocks off" thing. let the girl have some godless fun, for fricks sake.
The issue isn't her having some godless fun, the issue is Dorothy's actions coming off as incredibly fricked up and more than a little fetishistic. No matter what, pressuring your friend into jerking off in public in front of you is going to make people uncomfortable unless it's porn. The pic you posted isn't weird because it's ribaldry; it uses a sexual situation for humor. If this plotline was Willis going "frick it" and having Joyce and Dorothy slam clam for a Slipshine it'd still be bad but at least would have the context of break from realism due to the genre shift into porn. If I were doing this, I'd use your pic as a base. One day while doing laundry with Sarah Joyce sits on top of a running dryer and feels all tingly, so she keeps contriving getting her clothes dirty as an excuse to do more laundry because it's totally not a sin that way and plus it doesn't count unless you orgasm. I'd have it as a running gag for a little while then end it with Joyce getting too worked up and accidentally orgasming in public. What I certainly wouldn't do is have Dorothy drag Joyce to the laundry room and have her grind the spin cycle.
If you want to stick specifically to the context of DoA, Joyce has always been shown to be incredibly naive and easily led even before Willis decided she was autistic. But that's not the point, the point is that Dorothy is being pushy, overbearing, and creepy because Joyce is attracted to a guy. Which brings in a whole lot of implications regarding how Dorothy sees both Joyce and her position in Joyce's life, compounded by the fact that she's known Joe for years and didn't have a problem with Joyce going on a date with him only a few months prior. This plotline is weird and offputting, and even within the wacky hijinks until it's not world of DoA it comes off as out of character for both of them to do this.
Yeah a while back when I originally drew it I was trying to think of a good time period to set it in. Then someone in the comment section pointed out “there’s a period of time where they were both single and unaccounted for. The 3 month timeskip.” So yeah his takes place during that 3 month period, after Halloween when they both got broken up with. (I drew the original thumbnails before the comic actually showed what happened on Halloween so there was a lot of guesswork in the comic.) But yeah this is before Walky dates Lucy, before Billie dates Asher.

Why did she break up with Billie? Did she realize what a terrible codependent and alcohol dependent clusterfrick it was, and decide that wasn't worth being with Billie's hot ass?
It's irritating because Willis had every opportunity to make a genuinely cute and sexy version of this scene, and it's clear from the way he's presenting it we're still meant to take it that way. But it's all just tainted by the fact that in the end this is a scheme by a conniving manipulator to break up a couple she personally finds distasteful. And on top of that Joyce acts like a naive and gullible baby 99% of the time, which adds a weird vibe to all this.
I honestly think it’s gonna blow up in Dorothy’s face. Like Joyce is gonna cum and then immediately run to Joe cuz now she’s all worked up. Even better if he pushes her away cuz he wants to take it slow so now Dorothy looks more like a creep than he does.
I'm actually somewhat insulted by the depiction of autism with Joyce. I feel like Willis is fricking it up, and that I know better from having actually lived with this condition. Is this what it feels like to be a persecuted minority?
I think Willis is one of those late in life autistic diagnosis, so while he is an autist he doesn't have the benefit of having identified his condition as it was happening. So he's probably trying to take a look back in the rear view and see if he can try to capture that feeling.
>I'm actually somewhat insulted by the depiction of autism with Joyce.
She's not autistic. She has no comprehension of normal social cues because she grew up sheltered. Willis is unable to understand this because he IS actually fricking autistic. Chis-Chan blank slate face at his own wedding, the works.
yeah because if they are together and making each other better people, there's no easy drama for willis to write eighth-grade scripts about, and he might have to start actually making more complicated interpersonal dynamics, which takes effort. And what he really wants is to not be doing comics anymore.
Would you marry Mary?
Do you think a nice and patient enough boy could get her to be less,,, venomous?
Peter seems like he enables her worse traits more than anything.
If Willis was a better writer he'd do a good story arc really examining her. Best way to do that would be to replay the out of wedlock pregnancy story with Peter pressuring Mary into sex and then pump and dumping her leading to, at a minimum, a pregnancy scare that Roz has to (begrudgingly and reluctantly at first) help her through which leads to a more genuine relationship between them eventually. Or something.
Honestly Mary and Roz seem to get along decently. Mary is still judgy and Roz is still Roz, but they're basically just sitcom roommates.
Skimming all the comics she's tagged in, her grudges are seemingly always well deserved, like other people have said. But when she's not feuding with someone everyone else just seems to exclude her as a rule. When she does get to talk to other people in the halls casually though, she seems fine, if still uptight.
>that lil' anime pic under Best President
That's right, isn't it a thing that Mary's a weeb? I'm surprised he'd let something endearing and humanizing about her slip through like that.
Given Willis' obsession with 1980s cartoons, I'm going to assume he's at best ambivalent towards anime despite his beloved Transformers being a Japanese property.
Its a vestigial leftover from when she was supposed to be a sympathetic character
Art Mary makes for decent jokes.
See, this is decent, "I'm a preachy liberal, this conservative character is an butthole and they are getting taken down a peg on their own terms" humor. Mary is embarrassed and can't even point to her idols to support her beliefs. But it's not enough for the stereotypical conservative's ideology to be portrayed as rickety and easily skewered, you have to make that conservative outright muah-ha-ha evil and punch her in the face.
Dave's upbringing must have been so fricked up.
Honestly yeah, if they just made Mary the 'stubborn fundie' to foil Joyce as the 'open-minded changing fundie' it would have been fine.
She would have still been a butt-monkey, but the commenter-cult wouldn't be wishing for her death over one bit of trash-talk.

depends on what you consider "transphobia".
if wanting people with trans shit in their head to have an actual cure/fix developed which resolves the root issue rather than disfiguring their bodies to fit their mental illness is transphobia, then I disagree with you. however, if you're talking about hatred of them simply because they exist and are weird, then, yeah--don't get involved with that pointlessness.

No, Mary sucks.I know we like to praise Mary since she basically represents everything Willis hates but honestly I hate bible chicks, her body is average and she feels like the kinda needly woman who would poke and prod at you over a course of years until you lose your mind.
it's because willis is autistic and has only ever perceived sexual gratification as 'MEEP MOOP JOB COMPLETE' so trying to think of how human beings operate is always going to come across as parody from him, whether he means it to or not.

I'm gonna be honest. I think it's just a cartoony reaction to cumming super hard. Not every little thing in the comic is "willis doesn't know how people work." It's clearly meant to just be an exaggerated version of post coital bliss of a pent up girl.

Mommy Dommy Dotty is an excellent fetish Willis, keep it up. Just make sure it ends with Joyce domming the shit out of Dorothy with a big ol strapon yelling "the student has become the master...bator"
It sort of feels like the whole comic is just Willis punishing himself. Each character some he sees himself in or could have been, or the audience all being dicks to each other to give him more temporary cathartic relief. But it just makes the hole inside him that much bigger.
If you mean the Walkyverse, then it differed per comic.
In Roomies it was Danny (although Willis later said Joyce was more of a reflection of him)
In It's Walky it was, well, Walky
In Joyce & Walky it was, well take a guess

Dang! Never seen a Dumbing of Age thread hit bump limit. Is it because the commenters finally realize how shit the story became and came here to decompress?
I don't get it
They're jerking off by sitting on dryers, and she's about to come.
What gross b***hes. Those dryers are for everyone to use.
remember, women are never wrong no matter what disgusting shit they do.
>She takes Joyce (blonde girl) to the laundry room
>She tells Joyce to sit on the dryer .
>Joyce complains that she feels silly doing it alone so Dorothy joins her.
>Dorothy pulls up sexy stories on her phone and gives it to Joyce.
>Joyce is getting a bit horny and Dorothy offers her hand to help calm her.
>Joyce gets more into it and Dorothy tells her she can use her fingers
>Joyce says "no" and that asking makes her not wanna do it
>Joyce apparently reaches her limit and tells Dorothy to leave cuz clearly she doesn't wanna go all out while she's in the room.
>Joyce cums her brains out and then walks down the hallway with no pants.
Alright that actually makes sense
>coerce your friend into jerking off in front of you to “teach her how to do it”
>hold your hand while shes doing it
>kicks you out when it’s time to climax
lmao
i
what the frick
It's portrayed as an awkward friend moment that furthers builds their friendship. It's like a bad women's comedy
I feel like if you're going to jerk off together its rude to kick someone out as you're about to cum. That being said I would never jerk off alone with another dude so no clue.
It's such a dumb scenario that you can't really put logic into it
the idea of circlejerk etiquette is destroying me mentally. real homies don't cum before the rest of the squad
Is that why there’s fames like the one with the cookie where whoever comes first has to eat the cookie everyone jizzed on?
It's so dumb... nobody would actually act like this. It's also kinda gross to jerk off on a public facility, for many reasons. Women being written by a dude who's hypersexualizing them.
This is all just the author's fetish expressed in comic form. I wish he were more transparent about this, but no author's gonna have a "hah I'm a perv" tag.
It's worse because it comes from a place of controlling. Even if we put it in a lesbian relationship, it's like that arc from Tuca and Bertie where Tuca's girlfriend basically changes everything about her.
That woman looks like an old Joyce.
This is such a weirdly specific fetish.
Cucked out of seeing the girl you groomed to jerk off in front of you cum.. Cucked by a washing machine no less.
I've seen it in porn comics before

that captures my disgust perfectly
>single female jilling off
humorous/sexy
>this "YOU HAVE TO DO IT IN FRONT OF ME AND ANYONE ELSE WHO COMES IN"
embarrassing and unnecessary
>"SEE IF YOU HAVE AN ORGASM NOW YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO THINK ABOUT SEX ON YOUR DATE WITH THE GUY I DESPISE"
And it has been since Larry fricking Bird played hoops, it's not like that wasn't the case when Willis himself attended this school
The thing is, you don't get to know that kind of thing when you drop out after one semester of barely leaving your room.
i wish willis would be outed as the hack-fraud that he is.
it's the logic that says "my male experience must be the same for females" except about a week into fricking my first GF I got the picture really quickly that most women who actually LIKE sex can go again in about 5-10 minutes
In other words he's telling everyone inadvertently that he hasn't learned a goddamned thing about sex or asked his wife
>In other words he's telling everyone inadvertently that he hasn't learned a goddamned thing about sex or asked his wife
Best exemplified in this very arc where the one girl tells the other to "pee beforehand to prevent a UTI" when in reality you're supposed to pee AFTERWARDS, and after ACTUAL SEX, to help flush out any germs that inadvertently got in the urethra during the act.
you're supposed to pee before and after
And during.
The the logic of a man raised on There's Something About Mary and then being autistic enough to think women do it.
>Dorothy thinks Joyce finally having an orgasm will make her think clearly
> but, like most Christian girls when they’re finally away at college, now that she’s experienced one she ends up craving more and goes full turbobawd
Joe was never going to take advantage of Joyce and if Dorothy would have listened to Joyce, and not patronized her by assuming that she couldn’t possibly be right about him not being a frickboy anymore this never would’ve happened.
Now we’re going to get
>even hornier Joyce trying to frick Joe on their date
>him pushing her away because he doesn’t want her to feel like she’s ‘ruining herself’
>Joyce freaking out because no one is listening to her
Ehhh and then it ends with either
>Joe and Joyce actually having a heart to heart and going slow with the relationship, which was what they both wanted in the first place.
>no communication, because we gotta drag this shit out another decade, so Joyce runs off and tries not to cry in her bed
>Joe and Joyce frick, condom breaks, and we get a pregnancy arc because she’s only been on birth control for like two days so it’s still very possible for her to get pregnant
That's not what happened with Jeph. Jeph is a depressive alcoholic on psych meds and stabbed his hand after condescending complaint sent him spiraling. It's not even the first time he's stabbed his hand; he claims the first time was an accident but most everyone thinks it was the booze.
>Jeph Jacques is the 45th largest patreon by subscriber count and the number one among comic creators
This is one of the worst things I've learned in months.
Wanna know something worse? Jeph releases instrumental post-metal music under the name Deathmole and it's genuinely good music. Infuriatingly good.
Just looked it up. And oh? My god??? This is Marten's fictional band right?
WHY DIDN'T HE GET HIS ROCKSTAR STORYLINE? I am so mad that this is good.
Right?
Frick. Just...frick.
QC may be shit and Jeph a spineless cartoonist, but if it means he can continue to drop an EP every few years then bring on them quirky pastel robots having milquetoast drama.
Do you think she'll wear the dress again?
This dress is so cute and wholesome that I really wanna see her frick in it.
We should see if Willis is willing to outsource his drawing to Yoto
I legit don't have the work ethic for that. Besides my shit's still a bit rough. It'd be a lateral move.
How about just the Slipshines? What do your dicks look like?
It's a little small. Oh! you mean the ones I draw. Not good, but probably better than Willis.
Well there you go. Adequacy is all we're asking for.
Post more of Joyces big fat jigglies! I imagine while she's sitting on a vibrating dryer they'd be quite....bouncy
Here's the walkyverse versions.
>several hours
Sometimes I can fap and cum again within like 20 minutes if I'm well hydrated. It kinda hurts in a bad way so I don't do that often.
That's my point: the female orgasm isn't tied to a hydraulic mechanism requiring nitric acid
>but squir–
it's pee, anon
it's pee
>it's pee, anon
Wasn't there a study that revealed that last year?
>they had to do a study to discover that there's no organ in the female body that holds that amount of liquid and connects to the genitals other than the bladder
I no longer enjoy learning things.
>The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.
Anon, it's just a woman pissing. I went to high school with a chick who would produce a huge amount of pussy juice when she got turned on, to the point of it soaking through her pants, if it makes you feel better.
Maybe she just liked you and got really wet around you.
Decent, when does the questionable consent bondage happen?
>needing more than 3 mins
Am I on a board of geriatrics?
When Mike in disguise hooks up with Amber
>implying I know who any of these characters are
I need an ETA here boss. Meat ain't gunna beat itself.
So they never actually frick in this? I'm out.
Should we tell him about the porn?
They do but it’s paywalled.
Is it wrong that I now want Booster to play along and exacerbate Amber's mental issues through supervillain roleplay until he's fricking Amber while she's having a full dissociative break?
what the frick is Booster?
>what the frick is Booster?
Diet Mike
I swear to god if Willis actually made Booster reveal to be Mike after a couple of years I would lose my shit and actually respect him.
>Walky actually knows Mike is alive and wasn't just coping, he's teasing the reveal.
Literally would be the first based thing in the comic.
>Booster is just Drunk Mike this entire time
>Booster is amnesiac mike trying to figure out how to re-integrate to his social circle by using a disguise
>Booster is Mike's ultimate play to keep a distance from Amber while watching over her
>Willis genuinely believes this works the same way with women as it does in guys, that it'll be several hours before Joyce can go again
probably not several hours but some women need a break if they're really going at it.
Pleb Comics is still around. I'm legitimately shocked.
If only she actually had any credibility left
Does Plebcomics actually make anything herself or does she just complain that other people aren't being gay or female in the approved way
oh my god you're still alive? what the frick lmao
this board has such a weird combo of long time fans of this and people who cant stand it. its so funny.
Is Mary going to try to use that washing machine after Joyce is done with it?
I hope this moron has twelve unsold crates of that ugly plushie
I'm surprised you still draw tbh, thought you gave that up too
I kneel
The perspective on those washing machines is awful
>later
>"OH GOD THERE'S...IS THIS BLOOD? AND WHAT THE FRICK IS THIS SHIT? JESUS CHRIST. WHY DOES IT SMELL LIKE...JESUS FRICK THESE KIDS."
Do women really?
No. No they do not.
No. Not at all.
It started as a joke about unfulfilled wives having to resort to it to get off and then people actually started buying into it
The guy who made the comic in question has probably never ever met a real woman
He’s married with children.
Doesn't mean he ever had sex with her.
no
Isn't this the same guy who lost his shit when the made Starfire like sex?
If it didn't happen in an issue of Batman Willis has no clue what canon to a comic book means
this is why I now download all the shitty 3d animated mobage ads as a hobby
Heh washingdildo
I haven't been keeping up. Is Becky still in this comic? Is she in the washing machine?
Jeph Jacques is actually a good man because he literally hates and has been coerced into making his comic a revolving door of asexual neuroatypical gay robots for 12 year old girls by his psychotic fans. Dude just wanted to draw about if a cute girl came into his record shop and started dating him, eventually he can’t even self-harm his way out of a rabid BPD fanbase who attacks him with suicide threats
>DoA banner prominently features Joyce's big fat milkers
YESS YESSSSSS
It's not just me, right? Joyce's breasts have been getting juicier every arc. She's gone from like a C to a DD easy.
>It's not just me, right?
It's not. I'm loving it.
And here I thought it was about Tatsuya
But Sinfest is based now
More like insane and a warped reflection of his the author’s developing ideology.
She said fans, anon
That's why they constantly look for anything to whig out about
missed the Carla/Mary epic
>>also missed the Becky dad arc where Willis almost broke an arm patting himself on the back for how he wrote a positive LGBT story or some dumb shit.
Willis' I AM AN ALLY shtick is so overwrought that it's clearly just another way of his rebeling against his Evangelical childhood than it is a genuine push for diversity.
Nice to see Willis still flogging the classic format
Wait, is this legit? I thought shortpacked ended aeons before the pronoun/gender thing started taking off.
I'm getting old and forgetting how long this shit has been going on
Anon, it's posted last year. Tho. SP wasn't that old. UltraCar mentioned being trans chassis or some shit
no real fan of transformers would say that
oh christ now you've done it
his strips have had Ethan and David Willis himself get into an altercation over TF wiki edit wars
>Also I don't ever recall Willis or Jeph claiming they are doing anything revolutionary or making some kind of definitive statement on LGBT issues, so that part is just projection
then you don't know shit, kek.
You fricking idiot
>Also I don't ever recall Willis or Jeph claiming they are doing anything revolutionary or making some kind of definitive statement on LGBT issues, so that part is just projection
Black person THAT'S JUST BEING CONFIDENT BUT IN A MORE EXAGGERATED PHRASING
your entire existence is cuckolded, holy shit.
I'll be honest, I hate Questionable Content and DOA as much as the next guy but I'm starting to think it's starting to live rent free in her head. It's not even like they're all THAT popular. I feel like she just seeks them out to be mad now.
in the thread admitting they haven't heard from pleb in years.
>>she makes a criticism of Willis's latest shit story
>>Woah! Rent Free Huh?
Should've just been a text post, but I guess having a drawing stating your opinion makes it more valid, or something.
it makes it easier to share around the message, you idiot.
though that's countered by the atrocious handwriting
I don't give a frick. Post the redhead chick and that one autistic girl with the hat. I wanna see them make out and have visceral lesbian sex. Hands-grpping lesbian sex. Lip-licking lesbian sex. It's the only reason why I remember this webcomic. Couldn't care any less about the "plot", but those women? Get them to frick already, finger-style or coochie-on-coochie.
I would post them myself but I can't remember their fricking names and if I did, I wouldn't even visit this shitty board. I would be in a crappy Rule 34 genocing my offsprings.
There's a slipshine for that.
Dina and her gf really are cute together
it's honestly a complete shame they're in such a fricking tragedy of a comic
DoA is not THAT bad, it surely has its pure garbage moments, usually anything that tries to move the plot forward, or in general some really bad characters that have filler screentime for whatever reason, but some things are nice. I personally enjoy how the relationship between Joyce and Joe evolved, but I'm ready for Willy to ruin everything.
Yeah I think that's my thing. Like it's bad but it's not a trainwreck like Questionable Content.
Not a trainwreck?
DoA is mostly boring punctuated by periods of rampant stupidity, QC is mostly boring punctuated by periods of rampant horniness. Neither are consistently trainwrecks.
No. Questionable content has so much more morons in it. 99% are quirky females
>99% are quirky females
John Allison will go to his grave realizing Jacques is entirely his fault for LE QUIRKY GENIUS GIRL WHO NEVER USES CONTRACTIONS AND IDIOT BOY CHASING HER as his template
Ah, I didn't know that wasn't an original idea. Who is Fey a knock off of?
No, Black person, you just have absolutely no standards.
It really, truly is THAT bad.
You're dead fricking serious. This is a real comic.
Wow. I thought the plebcomics thing was a joke I missed out on aeons ago.
Wasn't this comic always about atheist girls and Christian girls arguing religion in a college dorm or some shit? When did it turn into this fetish shit?
It was always Willis fetish shit. Thats why it always involved lesbians and fat girls and screeching how Christianity was bad
Meanwhile Ethan is being psychoanalysed by the new they/them Booster
Did Mike kill himself!?
Yeah, he tackled a would be killer off the roof of the school. His last words was a "your Mom" joke.
Dang, I hope they get the clone tanks running soon in this universe.
I kinda want to see this but I'm not gonna go to the website.
I've escaped DoA.
>Character is some dude dressing like a woman with snowflake pronouns.
>Has been pretty much portrayed as a creep.
What did Willis mean by this?
Well even then Malaya goes by she/they now so that can’t be it. Honestly I think every characters assessment that they’re the new mike is accurate. In that Willis realized in the current era it’s hard to write a character who is an unrepentant butthole who psychoanalyzes people so that he can find clever ways to hurt them, while also spewing “your mom” jokes. So he made a new character that psychoanalyzes people out of morbid curiosity and isn’t purposely malicious about it. Booster is mike without the edge. A soft safe non gender conforming Mike.
watch the twist be that they're actually Mike in disguise
That is a very unappealing character design.
It's like he accidentally made the mouth 30% too big. The upper lip looks like a recolored fake mustache.
Two minutes in pixlr makes it better. Still not good, but holy shit, even making the lips smaller improves it exponentially.
Holy shit that's so much better it's insane.
>they
Christ, do not respect this nonsensical shite.
But I can't tell which gender to use to misgender them
I think "it" is appropriate at this rate.
Singular they is long-established, you just don't like using it in this context.
Imagine taking anyone seriously who wants to be called "Booster". I would think that person was IRL shitposting.
Ethan's looking disturbingly attractive here.
Something I just thought about, how is no one hearing her? If she’s about to have this super strong orgasm, that door is wide open.
i feel like this would've actually been LESS weird if willis had just turned it into one of his awful pornos
like just fricking own it dude
I would be astonished if the porno version of this scene wasn't made for patreon later.
I get it, because Kevin Nash summer of 92
Man, Legacy Webcomic Artists have sure fallen down a hole in this past decade.
2010s humor aged like milk and this comic is pretty much a lasting vestige of that era. Plus, all webcomics should have an expiration date in my opinion, or at least change from the form they originally came in.
Wow this comic insulted my dog and killed my family. Truly despicable.
>Dina's a weird dinosaur girl
>Oh she's an undiagnosed autistic, that's why.
>Amber has a superhero identity
>Oh, actually Amber has DiD and Amazi-girl is a completely different separate personality despite the fact that we have seen first hand that amber purposely changed her voice to sound different
>Joyce is written to have a lot of the same traits Willis had growing up.
>Oh turns out I'm autistic so I guess Joyce must be too.
I'm sure after some time Joyce will confront Dorothy and be like "Hey that was weird actually" since he's seen how people reacted to it.
Pretty sure Dina was always meant to be autistic from the old universe into this one
A man using fictional young lesbian experiences as a haven from real life, you say?
troony-arc in coming.
>There's no way most authors have experienced what it's like being someone different than themselves.
in the case of willis it feels more like he's never even sat down and had a talk with such people
It’s like he had this repressive religious childhood, and because he hates that so much, he assumes any step away from it is the most wonderful perfect personalized permanent elation.
>Even now, decades later, Willis still rages against his parents making his NEET ass get up and go to church on sundays.
Many such cases on Cinemaphile it seems.
The funny thing is that neither Dina nor Joyce show many signs of autism, particularly Joyce.
Has anyone pointed out that Booster is a freshman, so he's had at most 2 intro psych classes?
bUt dInA iS oBsEsSeD wItH dInOsAuRs!!!
It’s not just because of this comic, I think he’s weird in general. But I also really might be crazy I’m going out on a limb here
>Is there an age as a man where it becomes inappropriate to invent and illustrate daydreams about college aged girls being playful, getting into sex and having a magical sexual bond complete with mutual masturbation rituals?
No, but there also isn't ever an age where it's ever going to be anything other than just the author's fetish. There's nothing morally wrong with anyone of any age indulging in their own fantasies, but if you try to pass it off as anything other than that you're a fricking homosexual.
>want to literally be an 18 year old shy female college freshman being ‘coached’ and ‘coerced’ by a sex addict into playing with his pussy?
eh, it's kinda hot to think about.
Verisimilitude, the word you are looking for is verisimilitude - something possessing the appearance or semblance of truth.
It’s like he is actually in a state of arrested development where all he can think about is going to college and a non-virgin teaching him how to jerk off
Nice to see that a lot of the people in the DoA comment section seem to dislike this current part.
The one with Ethan and booster?
This one with Dorothy and Joyce. Lots of people calling it weird or just happy its (probably) over.
Which of course gets people writing 10 paragraphs trying to cope by saying that anyone disliking it is just projecting.
I fricking hate it because willis is a moron and is wasting time instead of showing us how the Joyce and Joe thing progress.
Sure, this Dorothy and Joyce thing is weird as frick, but it's not just that, it's also walky with that other girl I don't remember the name of because she's garbage and Booster, who the frick is booster, no one gives a shit
Yes frick, everything with booster is shite
homie w a t?
This gave me a commission idea
I’m hoping it doesn’t involve inflation or insane proportions like all the other DOA commissions.
Why IS there so much of that for DoA specifically? (Not that I'm complaining, mind you.)
I think it's one fan in particular with a shit ton of disposable income.
To be so rich, horny, and shameless. God bless 'im, whoever he is.
he's me
based?
thank u
Probably just one dude commissioning all of it
If the author wasn't so fricking deranged he could make 10/10 cute+lewd pinups.
He’s done some pinups of the characters years ago. One of which was ironically, also Joyce sitting on a dryer so I think that’s just his fetish.
maybe willis had his first orgasm sitting on a dryer somehow
Either that or his wife did. I can totally picture her telling him she first jerk offd on a dryer and he was like “that’s hot, I gotta put it in my comic”
Doe sit have the same affect on guys?
No. Unless you’re like... lying on your belly or something I don’t think you can cum from sitting on a dryer.
I've gotten really hard from riding on the bus sometimes, especially when I was in high school. Only difference was I wasn't orgasming from it.
That's an atypical first orgasm for anyone but especially for a guy. I've heard pool and hot tub more than I've heard dryer.
Why would a girl invite a friend to mutually jerk off on the laundry machines while holding hands then ask her to leave when she was reaching orgasm?
The other girl invited her.
The girl doing the shooing is simultaneously prudish and giga-horny and trying to work through it
Is his comic’s low visibility the only reason this guy hasn’t been cancelled by Twitter for being a gross pedo?
Yes
That's also why nobody called him out on having a half-asian kid with slit eyes
It's kinda impressive how this manages to gross me out more than artists whose entire make their entire presence revolve around pissing people off with edgy drawings
If Asians can do it than I don't see why no one else can.
Also I never see people starting beef over Noodle's earlier designs, even when the artist is a britbong and her name is literally Noodle
In order to be an edgelord you need some sort of internal morality to knowingly break. Nothing is grosser than someone genuinely unaware of how disgusting they are
Some asians have slit eyes
It’s more racist to pretend they don’t exist and only depict the ones that look like white people (that’s how SKorea got fricked up as hard as it is)
because it isn't fricking racist you tumblr/twitter moron
How is he a pedo?
>a gross pedo
You must be 18+ to post here
Jesus, I haven't read this comic in about five years, what the hell happened? Did Ethan and Danny ever hook up or did they continue not acting on their crush because they had to spare fricking b***h ex's feelings?
At first it was because of the ex thing. Now its because when Mike was on his deathbed and Ethan was worried about him Danny was like “Mike sucks, I hope he dies.” And then he died.
>when Mike was on his deathbed
what the frick? in a comic full of inexplicable buttholes, at least he was consistently an butthole
Ok but which DOA girl is best girl?
Haven't read in a while, but is there a single character aside from Joyce and Dina that isn't a raging manic pixie b***h? I dunno. Robin, maybe, she was fun.
Nah. Maybe SP Robin, but not DOA Robin.
As this guy said
Billie is only good for rough sex, but she is very good for that.
Serious answers - maybe Marcie? If you can get over the ASL and pound her into bisexuality, I don’t think there’s anyone else who’s close to being better.
Billie anon here. Marcie is pretty top tier, anon. Good taste. I think I give Billie an edge because she's canonically flexible as hell.
I would absolutely hatefrick the shit outta Billie if that's what you're asking.
>freakishly acrobatic in spite of her size
Why is this so hot?
Honestly same. Chubby girls that can bend are my favorite.
Mary
Sarah, Dina, Cinemaphile's headcanon of Mary, in no particular order. Carla.
>Oh no, he's sexually abusable now!
>Cinemaphile's headcanon of Mary
QRD? It's my first DoA thread.
Canon Mary is a petty, judgmental b***h, Cinemaphile headcanon Mary is pretty much the same but we understand that in the context of DoA she's practically a saint compared the enormous buttholes that make up most of the cast.
Mary's a saint in canon too. Only to people like Willis she's evil incarnate because she does things like misgender Carla
She's a hypocrite that denigrates her boyfriend for sexual gratification while preaching piousness to everyone else.
Did that come later? I haven't read this in a long time. I kinda lost interest after the whole Mary Carla battle.
And holy shit the events we're talking about happened seven goddamn years ago.
>>And holy shit the events we're talking about happened seven goddamn years ago.
He hasn't written anything interesting since.
I still remember how this one person came to the conclusion that Mary was plotting to harass and make Carla kill herself because of this exchange.
This strip reminds me of a song
Jesus Christ, who's worse, Willis for writing all this or me for still caring?
>somewhere between It's Walky and DoA, almost all of Willis's characters became identical dickhead snark machines always willing to cut somebody down for no reason or resort to physical assault when it's "funny."
The world of Dumbing of Age is a hellish existence filled with spiteful, judgmental, deranged buttholes because its God is a spiteful, judgmental, deranged butthole.
I don't even mind preachy dramedies, otherwise I wouldn't have stuck with the comic for so long. I just expect...any kind of variety between characters. Not this flat, "everyone is a c**t but some c**ts are c**tier than others" bullshit he fell into.
I read just to see how socially tone deaf it is. And it doesn't take a lot of time to read. It's just stripe with 4 to 5 panels with a weak or forced punchline added at the end.
Honestly, if Google Reader (and then AOL Reader) hadn't died, I'd probably still be reading it every day out of sheer habit. I'm too lazy to go to every webcomic's site (well, except Rock wieners), but when I had them all delivered via an intuitive RSS manager I read like a dozen a day.
>Dorothy is a control freak
>Joyce is an ex fundie with a million hang ups
>Becky is lesbian and that’s all
>Dina doesn’t understand how people work.
>Walky is a child
>Lucy is a bore
>Danny is a hipster
>Billie is an elitist who craves toxic relationships apparently
>Ruth is a corrupt RA
>Jason is a posh c**t
>Carla ha-is a big dick
>Malaya is a b***h
>Mary is a religious hypicrit
>Sierra doesn’t wear shoes
>Mike is dead
>Booster is a psychoanalysing douche
>Joe is a reformed manprostitute
>Marcy is perfect in every way
Like good god this is a disfunctional cast. I’m all for casts of buttholes (I love always sunny) but it’s hard to balance that and your righteous fury because how can you tell when someone’s actions will be seen as a silly joke or taken 100% seriously.
doesn’t wear shoes
At least she's not judgemental about others' footwear choices.
>(cuz Willis is too cowardly to just have her call Carla a troony or a homosexual or something)
You know the audience he cultivated is far too fragile for Mary to actually be raw with her bigotry.
>(how could Mary intentionally do that? wasn't Carla's transgender status not public or known by the other characters at the time?)
I think it logically makes more sense that Carla simply doesn't pass and is instantly glocked except maybe Joyce.
>Is tall
>Flat chested
>Extremely entitled
Her voice is most likely manly
Given her attention prostitute nature Carla should have giant, pornstar bolt-ons that cost more than most people's cars. I know it'd kinda clash with Willis' whole asexual thing regarding Carla, but with her personality and background I'd figure she'd be running full bimbo mode with implants and cosmetic surgery.
Ruth and Billie were horrifying to the point that Willis had to censor his comment section.
She's supposed to be one of those shitty, "it's my style" weeb artists. There was even a short arc about Malaya being a better artist than her, which unsurprisingly made Malaya look like a c**t.
>She's supposed to be one of those shitty, "it's my style" weeb artists.
The funny part is that he pulls the "IT'S MY STYLE YOU RUDE butthole" card himself if anyone criticizes his art.
As has been said, Mary's worst crime is being annoying compared to the maladjusted psychopaths we're supposed to be cheering for.
>Mary's worst crime is being annoying
So? I don't wanna marry an annoying girl. Or at least if I'm gonna marry an annoying christian I'd rather it be Joyce who's curvier. I don't know why her being less bad than the rest of the cast means I'd want to marry her.
>how could Mary intentionally do that?
You can tell
“Passing” is a myth.
Carla being openly trans is a retcon.
I'm usually not one to make highly negative assumptions about a person based on the stories they write, but I 100% believe it's because Willis is absolutely terrified to write black people because he knows the internet would tear him to shreds if they didn't like the portrayal.
which, yeah, i think that's a reasonable fear, despite all his actions being so fricking embarassing, he kind of is right to be afraid of writing black people, he can barely write dialog between two nerdy white men passably, and he IS one.
Funny how Willis accidentally made
>Neoliberalsim: The Comic
I don't really get where Billy is getting this StAn tRAns rigHTS from. She's cis
She's bisexual, so she's part of the alternative sexual alphabet.
Frick, man, I'M bisexual and I think these characters are all c**ts.
Even if he doesn't wanna look at guy's dicks he could at least look at how other people DRAW THEM.
his art is 6/10 on a good day, if the wind is in his favor and if he had a good breakfast moms approve of and kids love, but him drawing a dick has to be stopwatch territory, like he draws three lines and a curve and slaps the chess clock so he can go back to drawing freckle dots on a woman's shoulders. And don't get me wrong, I love me some freckle dots, but god damn man draw a penis like it's not scrawled on a bathroom stall, god damn
dont forget buttholes. hes terrible at drawing buttholes. i still came. i remembered he responded to somebody's criticism of drawing porn. and his response was " gotta put food on the table".
like, okay, b***h, draw like your life depends on it then
What's baffling about it? His "LGBT ally" shtick begins and ends at his being horny over girl-on-girl stuff. He's bad at drawing dicks because he has no desire to draw or write male-on-male homosexual stuff which hey, more power to him in that regard do what you want. It's just blatant hypocrisy given the moral highground he permanently seems to think he's perched on and how he dresses up his sexual interests under the guise of progressive allyship.
Man, that makes his self-flagellating "I know I need to do better, I will try" bullshit even more annoying. He makes a big public deal out of raking himself over the coals for not drawing stuff he's clearly not interested in drawing, but frick if he'll ever go full inclusion/full mercenary and draw realistic wieners, much less guy on guy.
As Mary Cagle said while roasting Aaron Diaz: "Sometimes I think it's okay to just admit you like looking at certain types of bodies naked, and that's okay."
I absolutely believe he prefers drawing chubby people after reading the Dina slipshine.
Huh... But Dina obviously is a thin japanese girl. How'd she suddenly became a Fatboy?
Don't ask me, ask
, I'm on team
and want to eat Billie's entire ass.
Although knowing how puritanical and weird fandom in general has gotten, I could see Willis fattening Dina up so he can't get accused of drawing underaged girls.
>I could see Willis fattening Dina up
to as big as that one dude commissions her?
Clearly he should start embiggening all of the girls, just to be safe.
Wouldn't say no, but that might be too far. Maybe.
I'm pure homosexual but, dear fricking god, that was such a contrived way to permanently end the dannyxethan ship. I fricking hate it
Contrived and insulting and deeply, deeply unhealthy, yet it was portrayed as the right thing for those characters to do.
And as
points out there's not much else in the way of m/m representation (which, of course, is fricking hilarious, given Willis's attempts to be King Representer).
He literally drew a porno of mike and Ethan fricking
Did he? I can't find that shit anywhere.
Yeah, it was called boy story. I can't imagine why it's not shared as much as the others.
The point still stands. You've mentioned the exception which proves the rule.
Post Toedad's Wild Ride 2 she suddenly is this well-known trans figure, which makes several strips not make a lot of sense anymore since they relied on dramatic irony.
>wasn't actually known to anyone in the cast
You can tell by looking at him. Everyone knew except Joyce
Going full meta like that would be worth exploring a lot more characters.
Lucy
>we will never get the Mary/Carla/Lucy throuple
I always pushed for Mary/Roz tbh
The only lucygay is the hyper porn israelite
He uses her as a self-insert, which is why he’s trying to force her in
Hey I never commissioned Lucy with Carla/Mary, you got the wrong guy
also if anyone's my self-insert its Dina
Hail Mary! Full of grace!
And Carla's cum
How the tables turn.
Deep down, all Carla wanted was some stern discipline.
this feels like something I'd write when I was 13
I want to read a psychological manga where the author goes out of their way showing the characters use the bathroom with detailed shit. Like hyperscat. Everything else about the manga is normal and no explanation is provided, the plot is something else and the manga takes itself very seriously. I think it would make great humor.
can we have joyce sitting on a dryer back please
Goddamn it, Ethan, just shove him against the tree, pull his pants down, and start ridin' dirty.
Why are you so gay?
i would love that. i dont give a shit about booster, and i dont give a shit about whatever has everyone so outraged over the whole "joyce getting her rocks off" thing. let the girl have some godless fun, for fricks sake.
See this is what happens when an actual human tries writing this scenario
Willis could've just said new Spider-Man movie or new Batman movie, they're always making more of those.
he mentioned kraven the hunter in the alt text
Booster is the worst fricking character Willis has ever inflicted on his readers, both fans and hate readers.
META META META META META
WE ARE FICTIONAL
IS IT FUNNY YET
I return to this strip every few years just to realize the fricker never grew up. Sophomore year in college, forever. Stunted. Autistic.
I like how the DoA fandom has stripped Joyce of all agency since she found out she may be autistic.
She's a fictional character, anon, she never had any agency.
In that case neither does she need to be coddled like a 5 year old
If you want to stick specifically to the context of DoA, Joyce has always been shown to be incredibly naive and easily led even before Willis decided she was autistic. This plotline is weird and offputting, and even within the wacky hijinks until it's not world of DoA it comes off as out of character for both of them to do this.
>may
It's obvious she's gonna be with how much investment to put into it.
I'll laugh my ass off if Willis actually dares to go "Actually, she's not".
To be frankfurter, I feel the same way about strip clubs, pay money to have women not touch your dick with your friends and almost jerk off
Still doing this thing.
>We're both on the rebound
So is this before Walky hooks up with Lucy?
Yeah a while back when I originally drew it I was trying to think of a good time period to set it in. Then someone in the comment section pointed out “there’s a period of time where they were both single and unaccounted for. The 3 month timeskip.” So yeah his takes place during that 3 month period, after Halloween when they both got broken up with. (I drew the original thumbnails before the comic actually showed what happened on Halloween so there was a lot of guesswork in the comic.) But yeah this is before Walky dates Lucy, before Billie dates Asher.
I see
What happened to Ruth? Did she also die stopping another mass murderer on the campus?
She's dating Jason now and tried getting him rehired
Aww man I was kinda hoping for Jason Sal to keep going in this universe, o wel.
Willis said before he didn't want to repeat ships from the Walkyverse. Even though he made Becky/Dina canon in both
>Did she realize what a terrible codependent and alcohol dependent clusterfrick it was, and decide that wasn't worth being with Billie's hot ass
basically, yeah.
It also lead to Billie getting invited to another friend group and hooking up with Asher
read that as hooking up with Amber, and I think that's the only way for her to get into an even more fricked up relationship
I think Amber's mainly dealing with Joe being her step-brother now
Is that the group with the girl Sarah got kicked out of school way way back, right?
Yeah, and Raidah was still pissed at her about it
I'm confused. Did the first three panels actually happen, or is Billie imagining them?
The blue panels are flashbacks to last Halloween when Ruth finally dumped her.
So she ended up befriending the c**t who forgot who she was and immediately called her fat? I mean, she's not exactly into healthy relationships, but...
She's also dating the dude who set Sal up to take the fall for shoplifting when she was a teen and had Amber's dad killed after helping him with his evil kidnapping plan
I forgot how genuinely Daytime TV this comic strip is.
lol the frick when was this?
A while back.
Basically Amber's dad wanted Amber to leave college so he wouldn't need to keep paying tuition and he also wanted revenge on her for beating him up as Amazi-Girl.
He even roped in Becky's dad by paying his bail and promising to grab her out of college too.
I forgot about the evil axis of dads.
toedad was the only highlight of the series
The point where this guy goes full supervillain and dons a fricking suit and mask is pretty much the only saga in this comic that I actually had interest in.
Weren't Joyce's parents involved in that shit somehow as well? Because fundie christians care more about keeping a family together than Toedad's violent crimes?
Her whole church donated to springing mobster guy and toedad from prison
Was there any blowback from that since it led to murder(s?), or did it just vaguely contribute to Joyce's turn to atheism?
>Was there any blowback from that
Well it led to Joyce's parents divorcing since she donated to the bail and still kinda took Toedad's side by the end.
Jesus, Willis has more issues than Marvel Comics.
>Mary and Dora fusion
never knew I wanted that
Sadly, I only have 2 of these.
Bob cut + freckles is a dangerous combination.
Who is Dora
the explorer
It lead to the divorce of Joyce's parents and Joyce renouncing the church and shit like that
You say that but now Sal is dating Danny. Who was literally her boy friend in Roomies.
Anon, it's a somewhat happy relationship.
It's not going to last.
Sal is going to get framed for another crime, and then Danny is going to take the blame for her, and then while he's in prison he'll get assfricked so much that when he comes out he won't be interested in women anymore and will hook up with the Doc Brown science professor
Pretty sure they were broken up by the time of Roomies, and either way Danny ended up with Billie so it's still not a repeating endgame ship.
Why did she break up with Billie? Did she realize what a terrible codependent and alcohol dependent clusterfrick it was, and decide that wasn't worth being with Billie's hot ass?
Because that's the wrong decision.
Ruth x Jason > Ruth x Billie
Keep it up!
What?
You’re lying
yawn
Chis-Chan blank slate face at his own wedding, the works.
>and that I know better from having actually lived with this condition
Sucks to suck lmao
Ruth and Billie was actually good for a while, they have jack shit to as characters do now that they've broken up
yeah because if they are together and making each other better people, there's no easy drama for willis to write eighth-grade scripts about, and he might have to start actually making more complicated interpersonal dynamics, which takes effort. And what he really wants is to not be doing comics anymore.
To be fair Billie has barely even been in the story since then. I'm looking forward to seeing how that dinner date thing goes.
Dammit, forgot pic.
>that lil' anime pic under Best President
That's right, isn't it a thing that Mary's a weeb? I'm surprised he'd let something endearing and humanizing about her slip through like that.
Given Willis' obsession with 1980s cartoons, I'm going to assume he's at best ambivalent towards anime despite his beloved Transformers being a Japanese property.
Mary watch All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku, right?
Its a vestigial leftover from when she was supposed to be a sympathetic character
Art Mary makes for decent jokes.
Honestly yeah, if they just made Mary the 'stubborn fundie' to foil Joyce as the 'open-minded changing fundie' it would have been fine.
She would have still been a butt-monkey, but the commenter-cult wouldn't be wishing for her death over one bit of trash-talk.
This Mary is great. I love this Mary.
Why can't we have this Mary anymore?
Because at some point she besmirched Carla. We're supposed to like Carla. As far as Willis is concerned, Carla is Poochie.
Trouble is, Carla's kind of a c**t! Hell, I thought she was cis and kind of a c**t! How DARE someone EVER commit a cartoonish prank on another cartoon who's being a c**t, right?
That's the thing, those strips came 'after' the Carla thing. It feels almost like he's backpeddling.
It's an unexpectedly interesting matchup.
Well kudos to him then, it's a good thing for her character and he hope he sticks with it.
They sorta did? I guess?
The halloween - uh whatever that was - could still be considered as her doing art?
I like the idea of meeting Mary in the middle because all the stuff she finds heretical sounds rad as frick to Sarah.
>one bit of trash-talk.
To be fair, transphobia is a powerful thing you don't want to be attached to, both for and against. It's super obnoxious both ways. It's telling when the corporates that kiss ass are shit companies like Amazon and David Willis
depends on what you consider "transphobia".
if wanting people with trans shit in their head to have an actual cure/fix developed which resolves the root issue rather than disfiguring their bodies to fit their mental illness is transphobia, then I disagree with you. however, if you're talking about hatred of them simply because they exist and are weird, then, yeah--don't get involved with that pointlessness.
No, Mary sucks.I know we like to praise Mary since she basically represents everything Willis hates but honestly I hate bible chicks, her body is average and she feels like the kinda needly woman who would poke and prod at you over a course of years until you lose your mind.
I'm getting the impression Carla just started her hrt treatment during the time skip? Or is it a boob job?
>people act like they're drunk or full of baby formula after jerking off
What world is this and how can I set it on fire?
it's because willis is autistic and has only ever perceived sexual gratification as 'MEEP MOOP JOB COMPLETE' so trying to think of how human beings operate is always going to come across as parody from him, whether he means it to or not.
>he doesnt remember his first coom
I was asleep during mine. Had a dream about being waist high in the ocean with the waves pushing and pulling me.
>he doesn't remember his first coom
I do, and it was nice, but I wasn't woozy like a cartoon hobo.
I'm gonna be honest. I think it's just a cartoony reaction to cumming super hard. Not every little thing in the comic is "willis doesn't know how people work." It's clearly meant to just be an exaggerated version of post coital bliss of a pent up girl.
sounds like you've never had an orgasm that good.
i've had my prostate manhandled like a baby in a gorilla enclosure, and even I've never come out of it in a clouded, drunken haze. Granted I have a neurotransmitter issue, but still
>prostate
ahh, so you're a gayanon
yeah, women tend to work differently, as do their orgasms. if you're pleasuring a woman and haven't made her a bit... woozy as a result of your work, then have you truly succeeded as a lover?
the prostate and the g-spot are the same gland just developed differently, like how the testicles and the ovaries are the same gland developed differently
so, as you have agreed, they are different.
Whilst they develop from the same embryonic tissues they do not operate 1:1 with each other, on top of individuals will also differ between their responses to stimulation.
m
>i've had my prostate manhandled like a baby in a gorilla enclosure
must be nice. i'm jealous
>Pressured her into the situation AND made her thank her for it.
Shit, Willis.
her into the situation AND made her thank her for it.
>Shit, Willis.
Mommy Dommy Dotty is an excellent fetish Willis, keep it up. Just make sure it ends with Joyce domming the shit out of Dorothy with a big ol strapon yelling "the student has become the master...bator"
>sex hair
Ha
willis is so creepy
yeah every constituent layer of this story beat has been slightly creepier than the last
Willis doesn't seem to be taking this as serious as you claim he is.
David, get off the computer, you've got twins to neglect.
?t=598
It sort of feels like the whole comic is just Willis punishing himself. Each character some he sees himself in or could have been, or the audience all being dicks to each other to give him more temporary cathartic relief. But it just makes the hole inside him that much bigger.
Had Yamato ever drawn Ethan and Danny fanart?
So, wait. Who's the main character? Walky, Ethan, or Joyce?
Joyce has always been the main character
are you stupid
I meant in the verse, not just DoA.
If you mean the Walkyverse, then it differed per comic.
In Roomies it was Danny (although Willis later said Joyce was more of a reflection of him)
In It's Walky it was, well, Walky
In Joyce & Walky it was, well take a guess
In Shortpacked it was Ethan and Robin
So...there's no clear answer other than Walky being Dave's self insert.
Well it is called the Walkyverse
Yet, was only the main character in two stories.
2 out of 4, yeah
Yeah, but in those stories he got the power of an alien God, so...
Danny was also his self insert, but he shunted all his sad lonely VeggieTales childhood elements onto Joyce.
so is Joyce
I WOULDN'T
it's not real
Is this Jason and Walky staring into each other's eyes longingly as they get pegged by Amber and Sal? Tell m it's that.
Context?
I wrote this (I think? it was in my doa folder) in 2017 when I used to follow these threads, no idea if I ever posted it at the time.
https://pastebin.com/m6cNHiUw
It’s cute. Can I repost it? I got a friend who likes Becky and Dina
Sure!
Sing to the tune of Scott Pilgrim vs the World Ruined an Entire Generation of Women by Negative XP
Terrible anatomy
Doesn't mix well with pornography
But David Willis draws it anyway
He's a strawmanning, pedant punk
Writes his parents in for a stupid dunk
His dialogue will make you say "what the frick?"
Lesbians and shitty prose
Awkward, stilted, on the nose
Everything he writes in dripping in resent
He knows the body type that women want
Though its hard to believe he married one
25 text bubbles for a stupid argument
He's got an unhealthy obsession
With teaching you a lesson
'bout how his upbringing
Led him so astray
I can't believe this shitty comic
Has gone on so long and yet...
Honestly, I read it all anyway
Shortpacked and Its Walky
Conceited with low self esteem
He's got TV tropes right under his thumb
When Becky's all screen the fans all cheer
'cause they're all twitter tender-queers
With the Transformers type of autism
Social justice and fandom wars
There's not a criticism he can't ignore
He wrote a mobster-church-abusive-supervillain-rapist arc
Deletes the comment threads he can't control
Character growth means being an butthole
This time I think he's really jumped the shark
He's got an unhealthy obsession
With teaching you a lesson
And making up for all his sins
in bygone days
Writes comics like they are for
People from 2004,
Yet, honestly, I'll read it all anyway...
Are you trying to make Cinemaphile the musical a thing?
you are so gay
I can't help it
>take break from comic
>come back and yet another evil strawman parent is getting murdered by crooked cops while he's in a hospital bed
>previous evil strawman parent is also dead, Becky cracked jokes over his corpse
what the frick is going on
don't worry that was a while ago
Since then we've had a short time skip and not much interesting has happened until this current "Dorothy shows Joyce how to get herself off on a dryer so she doesn't have a crush on Joe" storyline
willis hates his parents like a whole lot man
>this comic is literally just "converting muh blonde haired blue eyes christian waifu to be a degenerate liberal commie like myself"
fetishization--very progressive, willis.
If Mary wasn't meant for Carla dicking then why does she have such a fat ass?
>Split my God’s Loophole just like Moses split the Red Sea!
It’d be nice if the dude mary shacked up with had like... a personality, because then there would be something to use the relationship for, but no - then that guy would be too good for Mary, so Willis lets her have -evil- cardboard instead.
>dutch
Mmm lol remember mario on the gamer soft voice??? Haha bombombs haH
Dang! Never seen a Dumbing of Age thread hit bump limit. Is it because the commenters finally realize how shit the story became and came here to decompress?
first time in a while it's been this blatant how much of a hypocritical autist Willis really is.
Can't believe this thread lived until bump limit. Good work team.
