As kino as it is, I don't think Koba would've done the honorable thing and thrown the gun aside, considering he was already doing dishonorable things by that point. Like killing Ash in front of the other apes and shooting Caesar in the first place.

he had to show strength for the other apes to follow him

It shows humility on Caesar's part. He's not denying it, he's essentially saying "Yes. I AM weak, I HAVE flaws, but I'm trying to do my best as a leader and keep all my people safe. And you, Koba, only care about power, so you are weaker than me." All that summed up in 2 simple words

It's ironic, because in the original trilogy there was a caste system where Gorillas were a metaphor for conservative militarists, Chimps a metaphor for weak liberals, and Orangutans a metaphor for politicians and religious zealots. Now only chimps get to do anything important.

          >and Orangutans a metaphor for politicians and religious zealots
They were really just the elite ruling class. Dr. Zaius was not a zealot. He was right about every single thing that he said about humans, which is all backed up by in-universe historical events. He made it clear to Taylor that he was fine lying to his entire world about the nature of Taylor's existence and destroying archeological discoveries which would threaten his society.

I'd argue Zaius is the complete opposite of a zealot. He knows for a fact that most ape teachings are bullshit and he and the other Orangutans hold back the Apes scientific advancement, probably to stop the Apes from destroying themselves like humans did

In terms of cladistics, Chimps and Bonobos form a clade together (Pan genus) with humans as the nearest related species (homosexual sapiens). Bonobos retained slightly more of the common ancestor's genes in common with humans than Chimps did, but they're still much closer to Chimps.

No, they are guilty of a far worse crime: they teach kids dumb shit that is half-relevant to their future careers but they do not teach enough to make them self-sufficient.
They send kids through law schools and teach what constitutes a good contract, types of contracts, history of contact law, famous contract law cases... but not how to actually sit down and hammer out a fricking contract.
They teach computer science students about algorithms, software engineer principles, data structures, algorithm complex etc... but not how to combine all these ideas into a good library, or a nice GUI application, It's all theory and passing tests.
All this is because are not actually in high school/university to learn or discover things. You are there to get your ticket punched, jump through hoops, to get a piece of paper saying you would make an excellent Hope Jumper in your chosen profession.
God forbid we teach children to MAKE things or LEARN things that would give them actual agency. Show up, do your task and only your task, never seeing the big picture. Never, ever think "I could do X myself" or "if I knew the entire process, I could start my company..."

TL;DR we have brilliant students but shitty lawyers/doctors/fungineers

The education system now only exists to perpetuate itself as an industry which is why they now focus on indoctrination and their ideology rather than actually educating the people who attend them. The ruling classes have always been against educating the working classes because they're terrified of competition but the poor levels of education that this thinking has brought about now has a detrimental effect on their own offspring because it is so widespread. Many such cases that the aristocracy have indirectly damaged their own interests because of an inherent hatred of the lower classes.

From the perspective of a software engineer: computer science degree isn't supposed to teach you how to write a lib or an GUI application, that's what you learn on the side/on the job. Computer science is about understanding the fundamentals, to learn about the unknown unknowns.
I don't want to sound mean spirited, but if you are not able to learn how to code on the side, software engineering might not be the right profession for you.

Well, it must have been that this idea - a gorilla who was once a man, pleading with his girlfriend to help him out of this horrendous situation - appealed to our readers. They wanted to know how such a thing could possibly happen and what could be done about it. We decided that the magazine sold well because a gorilla was acting like a human being. What we need is a third race of lizard people that have been mutated by the virus. Less intelligent than the Apes but far more aggressive so the Apes have to advance with human technology and weaponry which brings them to the level of the original film.

I'll thell you why a "Planet of the Apes" scenario could never actually work.
The female apes would thirst for human dick too much to ever allow humans to be killed, or even enslaved.
Humans are by far the primate with the biggest penis, not even the biggest gorilla can hold a candle to a human wiener, ape society would suffer a death by BHC.

      Anonymous

dicks and veganas in any given species are always proportional to one another
human dick would be like monster dick for them, only the freakiest most degenerate ape women would want to wreck themselves with human men

        Anonymous

That's not true, if genitals were proportional then modern women wouldn't fricking hate to death anyone below 7 inches, when 90% of the population is like 5 and a half pinches and less than 2% are 7 or up inches

I want them to explore the idea that the apes are inherently genetic freaks. They were the product of a lab experiment. Their speech is halting, their gait is awkward, and despite being free for hundreds of years, they still live in mud huts. This is because they were forced to evolve by the virus; it's all unnatural.

The Colonel in War had one line that I wish they expanded more
    >The irony is, we created you.
I want to see apes come to terms with the fact that humans were their fallen creators.

if this whole series is a prequel leading up to the original, a majority of apes have no clue while a handful realize something is off. I could see an ape war where the apes that want to hide that secret win
