Years of iconic stories.
none of them get adapted on screen
>>Tom Holland and the fat asian adapting The child within
I rather die
How many iconic stories does Spidey actually have that aren't famous for the wrong reasons? Kraven's Last Hunt obviously, Spider-Man No More I guess. When his stories get famous, it's usually because they suck like the Clone Saga, One More Day, or Maximum Carnage.
None, Spider-Man's most popular stories do not hold a candle to Batman's and I'd argue that there are 0 iconic Spider-man comics. Even casuals can list Batman's iconic stories like DKR, Court of Owls, Year One, Knightfall, Hush, etc... Heck even Tom King's run was quite popular at one point. And Batman's villains and supporting cast are way more popular and iconic than Spider-man's.
>Even casuals can list Batman's iconic stories like DKR, Court of Owls, Year One, Knightfall, Hush, etc..
No they can't, they can tell you Batman has no parents and Joker escapes prison every week
>Spider-Man's most popular stories do not hold a candle to Batman's
>Court of Owls.. Knightfall, Hush,...Tom King's
lol.
Does Spider-Man vs Juggernaut count?
more like years of being present in media
Cool costumes
Appealing to both young kids and older people
Consistent history of good comics, cartoons, and live action content
>Cool costumes
This and unique cool poses and the like.
>Spiderman
>good origin
>good costume
>good villains
>good supporting cast
>good writers and artists
They both have those. From there, they both have different reasons for their mass appeal.
what supporting cast does batman have outside of gordon and alfred?
the robins
Rape
>hat about Spiderman and Batman exactly makes them so damn popular?
They're the most down to earth within their respective universes. Or at least they were at one point. Obviously they have the larger than life, non-realistic aspects about them; like Spidey's powers or Batman's billions, but they're popular because of what's relatable about them. In Spider-man's case, because he's a middle-class/borderline poor guy who has real world problems like bills, a shitty boss, a mortgage/rent and struggling relationships with girls that real people deal with. In Batman's case, because he's just a guy with no superpowers who has to rely on his skill, equipment and wit to come out on top whilst in contrast to most superpeople around him to could break him with minimal effort if they managed to get their hands on him.
batman is just a cheap knockoff though
Black cat is confusing. Like Catwoman makes sense, cat burglar fits Batman's low power rogues gallery and the sexual tension works because Batman doesn't have a really well established love interest, but Black Cat sticks out in Spidey's more fantastical rogues lineup and the sexual tension doesn't fool anyone because MJ is a firmly established piece of Spidey's canon whether Marvel likes it or not.
Every damn kid on earth can self-insert as Spider-Man.
Batman is just cool.
batman isn't popular, just a meme
Go to bed Clark.
homie, who is the superhero IP who more actors than any other have portrayed?
Oh and length of time?
Frick off.
Biggest cope ever
One is a relatable neurotic everyman with normal problems and the other has that sexy tortured gothic/noir vibe.
Both have good origin stories and both have great rogue galleries.
Relatable white guy power fantasy
Rich white guy power fantasy
Simple as
They are the Kardashians of capeshit. Famous for being famous.
I don't know how comic fans can identify with an asocial guy wearing dark colors who lives in his parents' basement surrounded by computers and leeching off their money.
Best action. Supermans flight is unimpressive and undynamic. Spider-man's swinging action is always a joy to watch.
They're cool loners with distinct designs, interesting villains, easily to write in a story powers, mostly clearly defined personalities and get tons of b***hes.
Cool designs and concepts, tragic and easy to understand origins, they're powerful but easily capable of being vulnerable without resorting to space rocks, they have distinct and memorable personalities.
They have good villains
Marvel does go out of their way to also show Spider-Man's personal problems in his life away from being a hero, and that definitely does give him some relatability to most people.
they are white and straight
>Batman
>straight
>spiderman
>straight
capeshit is so fricking gay
I really don't understand how Spiderman got so popular. None of his comics have been able to hold my interest.
A superhero is only as good as his villains.
Branding.
Street-level heroes are interesting and they're the two biggest ones.
I don't know
