What an absolutely retarded business model.

What an absolutely moronic business model.

    >robot's internals is just a frame with some wires running through it
At the very least, something this complicated would have more colour co-ordinated wires instead of all red and maybe a couple of yellow ones.

the wires are probably coated in infrared paint that can be seen by technicians wearing special PPE eyewear. might help discourage random tech savvy people from hot wiring your android if they can't tell which wire is which without the infrared goggles.

      >cost several billion dollars each just for people to have sex with them and destroy them every single day
they are 3d printed in moments and mass produced, running the park is expensive but the point was that the robots were seen as worthless and reprecable, we see at the end of season they just grab them and fix them up or redo the bodies in just few hours
if i recall the point of the park wasnt to make money

If you do it right then robots only need a complicated structure in just a few places.

That scene was supposed to be about an older model of robot, before they switched to 3d printing them.

I seriously don't get the whole "realistic human" approach. Just why? Why would you want to design a robot in the image of a human? It's impractical, costly and dangerous down the line.
Even if you had some kind of god complex and wanted to "create" life or something, why do it in your own image? Wouldn't you want to separate your creation from yourself because you are the superior one who created it? The only existing argument I can think of is one of pure masochism and self-loathing by trying to replace yourself.

But even if you want wanna frick a bot (kinda sad), why not make it exotic? Like an alien or something?

wait until you're burnt out on actual other people. you'll start wishing you could build a buddy with an on/off switch too.

        >Cinemaphile
I'm always burned out on other people. I just deeply despise the thought of human like robots, but I do love robot looking robots. A robot dog would be rad. And a machine won't replace the void of a lacking a female human if that's your problem. If you just wanna get off, image of mix of drugs, electrical stimulation and all kinds of vibrating tools. The human frick bot is really just an anime pillow for rich people.

That wasn't the business model. Westworld's purpose was to collect an absolute shitload of data on everyone who visted the park. Its meant as an allegory for the internet where we're basically using some of the most advanced machines ever made running some of the most complicated maths imaginable to do moronic bullshit like watch porn and argue with strangers about which generation of Transformers toys was the best.

they were using the robots to collect data in order to create immortality and the means to predict human behavior/the future, and control all these people. billions are a small price to pay

That is because you are a poor moron. The park and investment to give ford the ability to create robots were all on the premise of collecting all the data of the richest and most elite people in the world in order to exploit that data.

Delos is basically the Jeffery Epstein of the future.

Jeffery Epstein and the Man in Black are kinda the same.

      - Both have an island where anything goes.
      - Only the elites can go there.
      - Information on Elites being gathered for some further purpose
      - Operates effectively outside the rule of law due to elites allowing it to happen.
      - Have the executive branch of us government in their pocket.
      - Both have their own personal transit to get elites to the island.

I've only watched season 1 and 2 but the whole point wasn't that it was a themepark where you could shag robots but it was about basically getting all manner of information on people, their tastes and true desires for the ultimate data collection. It was more or less a place you could test technology while gathering information. While secretly you have the more complex issues involving AI and creating sentience.

Bit like how Jurassic Park was never really about dinosaur theme park but the genetic technology behind the park and how that could be used (which the sequels did a really bad job of trying to express).
