Again, there's 0 reason to believe that crows will eventually develop human intelligence. This idea that evolution is a linear forward process from less advanced to more advanced forms of life is a massive misunderstanding.

Yeah, there's no hard evidence saying that corvids are going to become crow people. But that cuts both ways, there's no hard evidence of the possibility being discounted either. Neither you nor I can answer that "what if", but what we can but objectively say is that the niche that humans currently occupy would be unfulfilled if humans never existed.
And what has happened to unfilled ecological niches throughout the last couple billy years, anon?

Oh is an ecological niche for a hyper intelligent, high stamina predator species too contrived compared to... oh let's say a spider who feeds a specific species of ants in a singular low elevation jungle?
Is that what you're trying to claim?

            Anonymous

the misunderstanding comes from people thinking that intelligence = evolution and nothing else. A crow and a human are most likely equally evolved as each other. One is evolved to fly and one is evolved to live on land. I'd say you could give a crow infinite time to evolve and it most likely wouldnt become nessicarily more intelligent because intelligence may not be the only predictor for mating and survival success. Ants outnumber humans 2.5 million to 1 and they arent very intelligent.

Life itself, as abstract as it is, should be something to venerate and if possible I'd be happy to see a sustainable, non-dystopian technological progress towards a space age that spreads life across more worlds, however being pessimistic about the unrestricted human base behavior doesn't make me nihilistic.

It's only natural that the average person can't fathom at all that their existence defies any and all logic of the universe
