It's pretty simple my dude. You know when you're dreaming? Basically you control every being in your dreams. But it's still you controling them. You and them are the same. Same shit here in this "esoteric" trinity concept. Except you're god as well. Same as me. We're both god. We're stuck in this "dream" and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Why don't Christians just say god exists outside our universe and the logical properties of the divine aren't the same as our material logic but can be inferred from the Bible?

This is the best argument in my opinion, because even cosmologists can't confirm that the laws of physics are the same outside our universe or even outside or present epoch.

I'm pretty sure it's just how the Catholic church tried to differentiate itself from pagan heathen polytheism. They realized their own religion is polytheistic so they came up with the Trinity workaround to force it back into monotheism so they could tell pagans to shove their pantheons up their asses or whatever.

The different persons of the Trinity are literally named at the ending of the Gospel of Mark and the Holy Spirit and Messiah are alluded to several times throughout the Old Testament.

"The Trinity" as a term isn't used but Jesus talks about the relationship between himself, Yahweh and the Holy Spirit in a way where the Trinity is the logical conclusion of it.

You need to actually read the Bible. Just reading religion shitposts online does not convey how complex and strange a work it is.

Trinitarians literally had to invent shit up and put it into the text to justify their position (like the Johanine comma). Arianism has far more scriptural basis:

Numbers 23:19"God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?"

Hosea 11:9 "I will not carry out my fierce anger, nor will I devastate Ephraim again. For I am God, and not a man -- the Holy One among you. I will not come against their cities."

1 Samuel 15:29 "He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind."

John 17:3 "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

John 20:17 "Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God."

Matthew 24:36 "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

                >Arianism
Arianism is founded on Jesus not being God which the Gospel of John contradicts "Before Abraham was, I am."

                Anonymous

                >"Before Abraham was, I am."
That just means his message was around before Abraham, ala the true worship of God, not that he's literally older than Abraham and thus God. Trinitarians are such a joke.

                >Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
                Matthew 24:35

He's not saying literally Earth and the heavens or space will pass away, he's saying the temple will pass away but his words won't. The temple is where Heaven meets Earth.

                Anonymous

If it was "his message" he would just say that, you're ignoring the very elaborate statement on Logos in the beginning of John that ties God to God's message.

The doctrine of the trinity is best described as a synthetic doctrine. It causes some confusion to talk about the doctrine as if it is an external concept that is endorsed by the Bible. More accurately, it is a doctrine that is synthesized from the various statements in the Bible about the persons of the Godhead.

      Anonymous

The trinity is a leftover pagan ideal they merged with Christianity like other Gnostic crap to make it more acceptable to the Romans. There is no trinity, there is only one singular God, and Christ was his son.

    It's like Piccolo and Kami.
In the old testament God was flawed and evil. Which is why he murdered children with bears.
In order to achieve perfection God split off all the flawed and evil parts of himself and banished them to the earth. That's what Jesus was.
That's why Jesus claimed to be God, but didn't have God's full power. And why God stopped being a dick after the new testament.
When Jesus was killed God started to die because they're linked. In order to save himself he resurrected Jesus and pulled him back into heaven to keep this from happening again.

      Anonymous

I'm an atheist and I've never gotten someone so worked up on this site when I was defending the notion of the trinity in my Catholic LARP. This adversary was an apex midwit operating on p a=a, b=b, c=c. The limitation of his logical parameters. So riled up was he that he frenzied and I decimated him with post after post and he kept coming back like a glutton for punishment. If his brain was a CPU it would have been overheating from the process load. It didn't even feel fair yet the amusement I derived was so great especially at not even being a believer in God. It was like arguing with a child about chirality. No matter what, he just didn't get it. I'm convinced the big brains used it as a filter for back in the Arian heresy days to keep out the midwits. The sub 90 IQ masses would listen to them because they don't question and know "dayum, dis bro smart". Meanwhile other 145 IQ geniuses capable of abstract thinking and understanding consubstansiality understood it indeed is possible for three distinct entities to be one yet separate. Bravo big brains, bravo, I deem the trinity as the most successful midwit filter of all time. What a marvel of intellectual engineering! We see pleb filters all the time but those are easy to craft, childsplay. But the midwit filter? Rare. Rare indeed. Hats off to my fellow big brains of the past. I know if they were alive today they would be right here on this site doing exactly what I do.

And this is why Islam is a fundamentally superior religion. Its conception of the universe and of one, indivisible God is logical and straightforward. Getting warmer... you're almost there.

Go seek out a pastor/priest or w/e. Go to worship services. Trying reading a good study Bible and not just front to back; try and get a good study guide or reading plan. Maybe watch theology videos on youtube.

What's the best way to start believing that Christ is God? I read the whole bible and I wasn't convinced. I know that I need to believe unto the Lord Jesus Christ in order to be saved, so how do I do that?

Someone explain to me how you reconcile the fact that the earliest dated christian texts are from 500/600 ad(no dead sea scroll copers, those are strictly judaic texts but judaic writings still only date to 1st century bc), that one of the core writers of the new testament never met jesus yet recounts his tale(with this writing dating centuries after like the previous point, but supposedly are the works of a man from 4-7 years after jesus crucifixion), how the old testament is rooted in canaanite and sumerian polytheistic beliefs, how the garden gnomes were never slaves in egypt but the egyptians lorded over the lands where the garden gnomes later would live, how thematically the story of jesus wasnt some new archetypal paradigm, that there had been similar stories even in the bronze age of death and rebirth and then ascension, and just how specifically you came to believe in god. Not how as in you read the bible and though "huh this makes sense", how as in literally you believe wholly in it with some sort of basis. Did you have some holy vision? How would you then discredit dmt which induces such profound visions simply because they simulate a serotonin dump, when its possible you had an endogenous serotonin dump or epileptic shock that spurred a vision?

So you have no answers to any one of the questions, why reply at all then

"There are no Christian texts before 500 AD" is just demonstrably untrue to the point only a schizo or someone baiting would say it.

Anon there is literally no historical basis in the claim of 500/600AD being the earliest christian records. None. That is beyond retarded. Rome was a fully Christianized state centuries before then. Even a sworn militant atheist would not challenge the claim that Christian texts date far more remotely than your claim.

    >good biblical kino

136 posts and no one has mentioned Dekalog. It seems the rumor that Cinemaphile is just a collection of casuals and manbabbys is true.

I enjoyed Noah a lot. Wasn’t the typical black and white bibleshit, some characters were interestingly written and had ambiguous motivations.

No one should've ever told atheists about the bell curve or international garden gnomery. They mistake themselves for right wing.

No, OP is the scutum fidei, which is the correct trinitarian doctrine, according to the catholic church.
