What are some other characters in media similar to Zuko from Avatar who started off as a bad guy but became good later on and had a (maybe) happy ending?

Catra I suppose. Peridot kind of. Maybe even the Diamonds.
There are several, the problem is writing them well.
are you asking for a list of characters that have redemption arcs?
He never had a redemption arc, everyone just forgot he was evil and ate babies.
Darth vader in a way.
Nico Robin
Cutty Flam
Hunter (the owl house)

Consume other media than Avatar anon. Redemption arcs are one of the oldest narrative tools known to man and there have been countless redemption arcs created during humanity's existence.
The only thing special about Zuko's arc is that for a long time, Western Animation failed to have a character like Zuko with a well-written redemption arc due to toyetic influences and the animation age ghetto. Hell, there are arguably issues with Zuko's redemption arc even without taking into account the extended universe..
I mean I agree with everything you just said, but just saying "Zuko arc/clone" distills so much in so few words. Before Avatar, who was the posterchild for the longass redemption arc?
There is no internet before Avatar.
We might not even know what redemption trope is.
I was on Cinemaphile before Avatar.

Shut the frick up you fricking homosexual
Zuko wasn't a bad guy, Ozai forced him to capture Aang and try to kill him. He was only a "bad guy" because Ozai forced him to do so. Ursa should've just bring Zuko and escape from Ozai instead of letting him tormenting Zuko and burn half of his face just because he said something, even it means to keep Zuko alive not let that sadistic butthole murder him.
>Ursa should've just bring Zuko and escape from Ozai instead of letting him tormenting Zuko and burn half of his face just because he said something, even it means to keep Zuko alive not let that sadistic butthole murder him.
Not possible.
Like father like son, huh?

So this is more of a wishful thinking kinda thing since I am kinda forced to watch it. Not to mention the way that both motivations and cliche's and coincidences are written in The Dragon Prince almost certainly will make it so that Claudia and Soren have a HUUUUGE redemption arc in an episode I have yet to watch or an episode that is yet to come out.
Why would good characters need a redemption arc? Fricking elves and dragons need redemption arcs
Here Ezran, get on this perfectly safe zipline.
Then later gets his body healed by Dark Magic for which I am almost sure Claudia will steal a page from Jaina Proudmore's book of insanity.
Then gets his ass gaslit to the max by both Viren and Claudia.
Somehow still gets the king's pardon for the short moment that Ezran was king.
That is just what imediatly comes to mind. Note that I still have some S3 left to see.
Now I would not classify either of them as 'evil'. Let alone when compared to Zuko or Commander Zhao. But then again, who is in The Dragon Prince? My money is that the writers are going to paint Dark Magic as the biggest evil and yadda yadda, which means Claudia is going to get a redemption arc as well.
Something something
> I am not responsible for the misdeeds of the ones who came before me, such as blinding Sol Regem. I am responsible for my own deeds and should be judged for my own deeds and only my own deeds
or something.
