They do have something to offer, and the first two can be watched as a long movie (they're not episodic at all, it's a linear self contained story).
Don't listen to him, every season is considered "the last good season" by different people.
Lots of people say anything past season 2 is trash, others say season 5 jumped the shark, others dropped it during the dream seasons.
It has ups and downs but make your own opinion
Basically after Archer Vice (S5)... >S6 - work for the CIA >S7 - become PIs >S8 - coma: noir >S9 - coma: (1930s?) island adventure >S10 - coma: space adventure >S11-12: they are back to being spies
The show is stale by S6. S7 just continues a downward trend. The coma seasons may as well be different shows as the characters don't act like their 'real-selves' (and change each coma season). In retrospect S5 is the start of the decision-making to shake things up that happened in S7-10. Despite returning to being spies, by S11-12 the dynamics of the characters and the setting has changed too much to recapture S1-4. The show would have been better served if it had only ran for 4 to 7 seasons, and had a clear end goal in mind.

this is objectively wrong as I truly love scooby doo (70s) but there's some classic shit around the millennium that truly outshines everything before and since (Home Movies, Dr Katz)
To be fair, this one is different from your average adult sitcom cartoons.

Archer is such a relic. Serialisation and calls back humour was fresh in adult animation when everything was trying to be the next Family Guy but it's an antique now. They are still running shit like phrasing and a character drinking into the ground so hard, it's in China

Honestly as great as Archer was, the cracks starts to show as early as Season 3. Its still enjoyable, but you'll notice what used to be a very rapid-fire show where you'd blink and miss a joke (Not unlike Arrested Development) suddenly starts making long pauses for you to laugh at a joke, while also growing very fond of flanderization and running the same old joke or catchphrase into the ground for the billionth time. It legitmately starts to run out of material.
Season 4 is the first truly forgettable season because of this with some notable exceptions like Archers old partner showing up and being mad gay.
Season 5s change of scenery helps mask the underlying issue they are just recycling jokes in a new set.
By 6 the show is in complete freefall when it doesn't have this to fall back on. 7 was a pure repeat of this with some tired jokes about prohibition or something. It was the last full season I could stomach. A few episodes into the tropical Island season I said frick it and stopped watching the show.
Have they at least gotten around to revealing Archers father yet?

It's got revealed last season, it was done in good way, episode wasn't funny but still enjoyable. That kinda goes for the whole season, you watch it because you like characters, not for the humor anymore.

i'd argue they're worth watching solely because of how they end the space arc and transition out of the coma back to the real world.
