I saw it at least 5 times when I was a kid but can't remember much
It was fun, don't know why it didn't last long though, only got one sequel before it vanished.

It was okay. I mean... cheap shitty CGI 'movie' based on a kids' book, it was fine for what it was, but it wasn't anything amazing honestly.
I like it. The old-school style late 90s/early 2000s CGI is comforting and nostalgic.
Cute movie. I watched it every year as a kid but only had a vague memory of it until Cinemaphile found that wiki. I didn't even know it was based on a book.
I liked the comics when I read them a few years ago. Jimmy has a full arc of becoming good, and what's her name becomes a new scary godmother. I loved the movies as a kid. Watched them every year. I was so upset when they didn't air it one year. Damn streaming services and garbage episodic shows killing TV.

I love the Scary Godmother comics, I read them for the first time last year and they're gorgeous. Jill Thompson is a great artist.

There isn’t any special or movie that gets me in the Halloween mood like these do. But I know it’s mostly a nostalgia thing.
In recent years the Disney movie Hocus Pocus somehow became this sacred paragon of Halloween movies and I never quite understood it, I’m guessing because I didn’t grow up with it. For some reason people do not shut up about how much they love it. Hocus Pocus is a shit movie but I think the Scary Godmother movies are my version of this trend, I’d defend the hell out of these movies even if they’re not that great.
Hocus Pocus sucks. Mostly Ghostly and Halloween Town are way better Disney Halloween movies.
The comics are better
The best Halloween movie ever.
It always bothered me how Jimmy sounds like a teenager in the first one and the other kids sound young, but then it's reversed in the second one where he sounds like he's 10 years old and everybody else sounds older, especially the black kid.
