Writers of this garbage don't give a shit about Castlevania. They just wanted to make their own Games Of Thrones and use the Castelvania name just to gather more interest, and money on the name recognition. The lead writer clearly didn't know or give a flying frick about what he was even adapting.

You're an idiot.
Average is 7.5 not 9.5. Nobody is 9.5 except maybe pinheads. Is that why you think it's normalanon, because you're a pinhead?
He's 8 heads tall. The head measurements are to people's heels, not the very bottom of the drawing, do you think with a person raises their arms it doubles their height? He's wearing high heels, thus the extra height. That said, with his legs splayed out like that, hunched pose, and bent back, he's probably also a little taller as well.
Anyway, what's with the b***hing for a waif looking stylised drawing?

Why are you trying to spin the Hawkman thing as racism when they are butchering his character to the point he's basically an OC wearing his costume?
Not really. Bondage shizo maniac from the game at least had the potential to be interesting while the generic black guy from Netflix fanfic is just fricking garbage and anyone who defends the writing in this garbage show is a lunatic. I don't even know what's the point of comparing the two when the show Issac is a completely different character to the point where he can just be considered a full OC. It's like comparing Light Yagami with Mickey mouse.
>Writers of this garbage don't give a shit about Castlevania
Curse of Darkness isn't worth giving a shit about on any level, and Castlevania has never had a story that rose above the level of perfunctory. The real issue is that Ellis just wrote a terrible show. Fidelity wouldn't have guaranteed a better show.
Castlevania always had interesting mythos and lore spamming throughout multiple centuries and characters that were compelling enough despite being simple like Alucard who despite being a son of Dracula, never abandoned his humanity because of his mother, and was always forced to live like a wind, moving forward, never heaving a chance to experience actual life, or fall in love. Having to exist with the burden of not being human.
The Netflix show doesn't give a frick about any of that and is just a generic Games Of Thornes wannabe made by a bunch of hacks who are not even fans of the franchise and also never actually played any of the games. The fact that a fricking drama CD released shortly before the game series died has infinitely better writing and understanding of the Castlevania setting and characters than this garbage show is embarrassing.

Everything the show has done well can be attributed to the strength of the IP. As far as I'm concern, the only good fight in the show was Trevor vs the Cyclops.
Look at this.
It scream personality. Trevor is shown to be a veteran vampire hunter. Instead of MCU one-liners, it shows character like how salty Isaac is about having such a hard time against Trevor but he is forced to admit that he is hard to kill. A Netflix version of the fight never happened and never could have happen because Konami isn't going to let Isaac win against Trevor in a fair fight and Isaac has Mary Sue plot armor powers like his fight with Carmilla.

What? Not enough fricks or mentions of sex or booze?
I have no idea why they slapped the Castlevania title in this shitshow. Only extremely surface level things were used from the games, everything else was disregarded and made-up. Frickton of character assassination as well.
>character redesign
Just redesign? That b***h was a terrible everything compared to the original Isaac and that's a very low bar. The design is bad but his dialogue was the worst thing by far
>Season 2 of Castlevania >Hector: Are you just trying to have a nice day because you are sad? >Alucard: Dracula is trying to kill himself because he is sad. >Godbrand: Dracula is fricking trying to kill himself because he is sad! >Isaac: You are trying to have a nice day because you are sad. >Dracula: I want to fricking die because I'm sad. >Isaac: Let me give my life to save you despite knowing that you are trying to have a nice day because you are sad. >Alucard: You are just trying to have a nice day because you are sad. >Dracula: Oh no! He wanted to die anyway. >Trevor: Well time for me and Sypha to frick off. We aren't going to even pickup a dog to stop yourself from killing yourself. >Alucard: I'm sad.

He wasn't the best written villain that I've ever seen in my life but at least he had a well established "lunatic" personality and unique design. The problem lies in the fact that the Netflix fanfic created a completely new OC and called did the same character instead of properly adapting Issac the way he was in the original game and improving his character instead of just putting a completely different one making (you) wonder what's even the point. I wouldn't be so angry if Issac was the only character they did this to but this kind of shit is everywhere in this show. Again writers of this adaptation simply don't care about Castlevania or like the franchise at all and they are showing it on every single front.
I fricking hate this moronic trend of creating """""adaptations""""" that have almost nothing to do with the source material, all because big corporations keep giving the Job to the most arrogant and "auteur" wannabe homosexuals possible who simply don't care about the source material in the first place.
Nah... The game was a pretty fun and solid 7/10 and Issac had potential, he just needed more screentime that is shown in the game instead of the prequel manga.
That's nice and all but A. That's your personal opinion on the character and B. It still doesn't excuse creating an OC character and just sticking some existing character's name to it because you know no one would give 2 shits otherwise.
I liked animated isaac better than game isaac, and I'm probably the only person that genuinely likes curse of darkness to begin with. Animated hector is an abysmally idiotic character compared to game hector though, watching him in the show gave me 2nd hand embarrassment.
Don’t think I’ll have any other place to say this, but I loved the shit out of Curse of Darkness. I consider it a very fun action-RPG and the game that singlehandedly got me into the genre.
Dunno if it's of any value to you but I'll say I really, really liked it and was pleasantly surprised by it. It's not without flaws, but I enjoyed it more than the entirety of lament of innocence, and I'm baffled everytime I go into a castlevania thread and everybody either hates both ps2 games or says LoI is superior. But then in other threads there's people praising them. Cinemaphile is super weird and polarized when it comes to castlevania.
I should replay it again soon, I recall there was a special weapon I never got to craft.
Oh I should also say while I'm at it, the concept of forgemaster from the show is lame SHIT compared to the game. They had the chance to use the innocent devils proper but made it some "put demon souls into corpses" bullshit. I'm not a hardcore CV fab but netflix CV is a tip-of-the-iceberg type adaptation at best. You can sprinkle legion and gergoth cameos you want in there but it won't compensate for butchering other things.
I was actually kind of intrigued they had St. Germain in one of the later seasons, only to find out he was just as butchered as the other characters. Shame, he was the best character in the game and wished he had made further appearances.
>liked animated isaac better than game isaac, and I'm probably the only person that genuinely likes curse of darkness to begin with. Animated hector is an abysmally idiotic character compared to game hector though,

What these writers care about is sucking Muslim wiener.
So when did gingers become the "peak representation of white people" over blue-eyed blondes that movies and TV decided replacing them with black versions was righting the wrong?
What they did to Death in this show was a travesty. From not having him be one of Dracula's generals from the start (instead we got a bunch of generic vampire OCs as his generals), to having him speak with edgy cursewords just like every other character in the show, to him not even being *the* Grim Reaper at all... he's literally just a random demon with a skull face in the show. It just all felt so pointless, his design is kinda awful too.
The only thing that bothers me is that when people say the new design is better they are 9/10 times talking about the costume and give Netflix credit for it when it's an Ayami Kojima design too
In OoE, the boss of the castle basement is an evil sorcerer who's basically a big Ritchie Blackmore tribute - he dresses in a deep purple coat and imitates a lot of Blackmore's stage poses.
Because japanese references are more like the author being genuinely inspired by something and not bothering to hide the source; american references are "LOOK, DO YOU REMEMBER THIS THING?"
The only thing I didn't like about series Hector was he doesn't show up his stand 'The End' (at the end). Overall I like all about series Issac and Hector. Real improvements of those simple homosexual edgelords we got in the ps2 game.
Netflix Isaac meant to appeal to normalgays with shit taste.
Just a daily reminder that homosexuals who love this Mary Sue homosexual think that this looks cool. This is what happens when when a writer is autistic about making the normal human characters not super human but gives one character a lot of fricking plot armor.
I don't get you morons b***hing that an adaptation isn't trying to be just like the source material, a relevant example being how The Boys is much different in the show and most people who read the comic seem to not dislike the changes, OG Isaac was an edgy lord while Netflix's Isaac is actually interesting as a character, he is still edgy at points but much less than the original.
It's anime brain rot. They think that, because their favorite animu is a slavish remake of a manga to the point that it's essentially reading you the book (which is by design because non-original anime are first and foremost commercials for their manga), western media must be like this too despite the long history of adapting media being pretty universally one of taking a story and mixing it up a bit so it's not something you can already get elsewhere.
Creators of spiteful cashgrabs will spit in your face and you will ask for more because it's unexpected and subversive. You never cared about originals because it's all just dumb games with simple stories, which is why nobody should care that these simple stories are bastardized. Which is exactly what all those hired writers are banking on, since they themselves also care not about the originals.
You spout feeble excuses about "necessary changes", but what do you even know about those different media, about what changes are necessary? Ellis never needed to bring in CoD only to "adapt" it netflix-style, never needed the international vampire clique, or the corrupt church. A castlevania show only needed to be Samurai Jack: monster mash edition, but that would require some actual talent to write and direct.
And then you have the gall to b***h and moan about anime, as if the show wasn't marketed as anime itself, as if the show isn't full of dull walking-and-talking scenes to fill the runtime.
I hope you enjoy something, only so it can be ruined by talentless hacks and corporate suits.

>fidelity = good
You people are fricking moronic all of you, go ahead and waste your time watching a 1:1 recreation of a story that already existed with absolutely nothing new whatsoever, why even hire writers or a director?
Being an adaptation doesn't absolve netflixvania of jut plainly being a bad show, homosexuals. The point of this thread is that it was worse than the source material, not that it should be a carbon copy of the it. Also there's a difference between taking some and outright butchering the original work
You'd think more people would be upset with what was done with Hector. Guy showed up, didn't progress at all as a character, got treated like an idiot by any character that walked passed him. At least Isaac achieved what he set out to do in the story.
Somehow, adapting a character to be black is more outrageous than adapting a character to be a simp
Hector was terrible character too like evryone on that shit show. The difference here is that no one liked Hector on netflixvania anyway while people praised Isaac for being a mary sue manbaby who had some surface level philosophical dialogue with people in season 2
>fidelity = good
You people are fricking moronic all of you, go ahead and waste your time watching a 1:1 recreation of a story that already existed with absolutely nothing new whatsoever, why even hire writers or a director?
Death of the Author is always a gay's game. It doesn't matter if you write a shitty fanfic where Shakespeare goes to future and fails the Shakespeare literary analysis class.
>Hey, remember that thing you like? >Well this is something else but we changed all the characters and most of the plot >But if you squint hard enough you'll recognize that we're still redoing the original story, just with minor changes
This is such a stupid fricking design choice. Adapting Castlevania in the first place is moronic. People like Castlevania because it's a good series with great art and music. This version had neither. If you aren't going to take advantage of the change in medium to do a fancier version of the original, or even build on the existing world of the original, why even call it an adaptation? Because it's a dogshit fake anime that only got attention by piggybacking on an existing nostalgic IP.
Yeah, because its objectively correct. Don't pretend there's something noble about being a contrarian when you have to literally stick your own head up your ass to do it.
It is objectively due to your conditioning to love Black folk and sandBlack folk unconditionally.

You'd think more people would be upset with what was done with Hector. Guy showed up, didn't progress at all as a character, got treated like an idiot by any character that walked passed him. At least Isaac achieved what he set out to do in the story.
>At least Isaac achieved what he set out to do in the story. >Setup to be the new antagonist >Last minute "redemption" arc rendering more than show pointless
I never even played CoD.
>Game Hector is a good person because he doesn't simps. >Game Isaac is a bad person because he simps. >Netflix Hector is bad because he simps for the wrong person. >Netflix Isaac is good because he simps for the right person.
They are both simps.
Hector and Isaac both simped for Dracula. But Hector continued to simp, get especially fricked over for simping, and then proceeds for the next person who shows him an ounce of attention without a hint of learning any sort of lesson.
People kept saying that Isaac's loyalty to Dracula to be a positive trait while Hector had his enslavement coming not for his attempted genocide but his betrayal of Dracula. The writers are not good people.

It is written by Materialist bugmen. It is like those shitty "sad" scenes in Rick and Morty.
>Richter "spin-off" is still happening and we got a nothing trailer.
I expected a politically motivated revision of history under the guise of "muh setting with vampires".
>They are using Richter remake design made by Ayami Kojima herself >It's apparently animated by an actual Japanese studio this time >The title of the show is a reference to the original Japanese name of the "trilogy" with Alucard, Maria, and Righter (Akumajou Dracula X Nocturne In The Moonlight, X Nocturne Of Recollection, and X Chi No Rondo).
Well, there's some hope that it's made by people who actually care about this franchise this time at least.
I was thinking about the French Revolution shit. There is no reason to add that as a background conflict in a proper Castlevania adaptation. It is there to sell a fictional version of the French Revolution which presents transistion from Monarchy to Democracy as the best thing ever instead of the giant frickup that it was in real life. The only hope is that isn't in the same canon.
The real issue with the character in OP and pic related isn't the redesign but how they are "OCs in everything but name" thus get special treatment from the writers.
>Bwaaa why is everyone so mean to me and my horrific demon army!? We dindu nuffin!
The original Isaac could've been a cardboard cutout and still been a better character than the Netflix one
>These powers are used to save and transform disheveled, uncultured, lost, or broken whites (almost exclusively white men) into competent, successful, and content people within the context of the American myth of redemption and salvation.
he's still fricking stupid and weard top tier polt armour
He's wole thing is like "yeah, iam evil, but how dare you being rude to me?"
And it would be fine is show understood he's a moron. but no.
Even crappy issekai anime did it better.
Let's just for whatever reason call this character "Moses". What does actually change besides homosexual manchild cartoon YouTubers bringing up as proof that this is "the best video game adaptation evar!"?
I fricking hate this show, it was written by literal redditors with all those crappy dialogues >"iam am death and going to eat and shit out your soul",
banale mistanthopy, and of course fedora tipping atheism and constant slander of church
what is worse, is that these subhumans are always after so called "low" pleasures, and even when they try to reach high ones they just taint them.
Such "people" deserve no more rights than animals because its all that they are
What are you talking about, Issac looks objectively cooler in the show than in the game.
Dilate
Don't get mad at us because You're the one with shit taste.
Seethe, troony. They're not gonna change it
>Generic bald black guy in boring black robes

So when did gingers become the "peak representation of white people" over blue-eyed blondes that movies and TV decided replacing them with black versions was righting the wrong?
Every single character in this show
Actually Megaman's voice is so out of character that is actually alluring, gives me a strange pleasure.
Also i want to frick princess Lana.
My ginger
just hear it... I can hear that over and over...
He sounds like Popeye
I prefer this kid icarus over the bland ass nes design
Take me back please.
Frick off, Johnny Belmont is great. By far one of the greatest "looks nothing like the original character" adaptations ever put to screen.
>I'm going to eat your soul and Shit it our.
What 13 year old atheist homosexual wrote this shit?
>is a skeleton
>says he can shit
Huh?
I hate how they fricked the characterisation this bad in what was supposed to be the peak of the whole series ever since Dracula got fricked.
The only thing that bothers me is that when people say the new design is better they are 9/10 times talking about the costume and give Netflix credit for it when it's an Ayami Kojima design too
While the redesign is probably not a good Issac based off the original games new Issac as a stand alone character is a pretty baller character.
Curse of Darkness was shit lol. Anything is an improvement
So why did Dracula have Ritchie Blackmore living in the basement of his castle?
wait what
In OoE, the boss of the castle basement is an evil sorcerer who's basically a big Ritchie Blackmore tribute - he dresses in a deep purple coat and imitates a lot of Blackmore's stage poses.
Why does everyone here complain when the MCU does DUDE REFERENCE LMAO but when Japs do it in anime or videogames it's considered genius?
Because in japanese media references come down to stylistic inspirations instead of just mentioning a pop culture thing as attempts to comedy
Because japanese references are more like the author being genuinely inspired by something and not bothering to hide the source; american references are "LOOK, DO YOU REMEMBER THIS THING?"
The reference had to cross an ocean and that's more impressive.
this show was honestly the wokest shit I have ever seen
The only thing I didn't like about series Hector was he doesn't show up his stand 'The End' (at the end). Overall I like all about series Issac and Hector. Real improvements of those simple homosexual edgelords we got in the ps2 game.
Spider-Man 2017 has the blandest designes in Marvel adaptation i ever seen. Even MCU ones is more interesting.
Dude on the right is just a ripoff of Pucci from JJBA
He is more like Vanilla Ice with that ultra simping.
Netflix Isaac meant to appeal to normalgays with shit taste.
Just a daily reminder that homosexuals who love this Mary Sue homosexual think that this looks cool. This is what happens when when a writer is autistic about making the normal human characters not super human but gives one character a lot of fricking plot armor.
>implying normie taste is worse than the taste of emo gays that cut themselves when mommy refuses tendies
>Just a Black guy.
Wow how progressive.
Chud bros, explain this?
>Issac
>Conceding already
Why are chuds like this?
Learn how to spell
Not an argument.
It's a suggestion
I don't get you morons b***hing that an adaptation isn't trying to be just like the source material, a relevant example being how The Boys is much different in the show and most people who read the comic seem to not dislike the changes, OG Isaac was an edgy lord while Netflix's Isaac is actually interesting as a character, he is still edgy at points but much less than the original.
>while Netflix's Isaac is actually interesting as a character
Mary Sues aren't interesting to people with taste.
You first, shitbrain.
Shut the frick up troony moron. Comic adaptations are garbage because of homosexual b***h egotists like you mutilating it.
>abloo bloo bloo
>ABLOO BLOO BLOO BLOO
pathetic
I accept your concession
Being an adaptation doesn't absolve netflixvania of jut plainly being a bad show, homosexuals. The point of this thread is that it was worse than the source material, not that it should be a carbon copy of the it. Also there's a difference between taking some and outright butchering the original work
Hector was terrible character too like evryone on that shit show.
That is just a dumb cope from people who can't make successful IPs.
Yeah, you must know better than Shakespeare.
Death of the Author is always a gay's game. It doesn't matter if you write a shitty fanfic where Shakespeare goes to future and fails the Shakespeare literary analysis class.
>Hey, remember that thing you like?
>Well this is something else but we changed all the characters and most of the plot
>But if you squint hard enough you'll recognize that we're still redoing the original story, just with minor changes
So many anon's who can't cope with Show Isaac Supremacy.
I Feel sorry for you all, and hope one day your tastes will improve.
>Being proud about being normalcattle in 2022
Netflix and chill and consoom.
>He has a different opinion than the majority of Cinemaphile, what a sheep.
Do you even hear yourself?
>The same opinion as everywhere in the Internet
>What a maverick!
Netflix
Yeah, because its objectively correct. Don't pretend there's something noble about being a contrarian when you have to literally stick your own head up your ass to do it.
It is objectively due to your conditioning to love Black folk and sandBlack folk unconditionally.
Incorrect, it's objective because I have eyes and ears and a brain attached to them. I'm sorry you can't see past your own biases, I hope one day you grow up.
>I have eyes and ears and a brain attached to them
proof?
I don't cuck to death cults.
If anything I think people are focusing too much on Isaac and should be more enraged that Grant wasn't in the show
I saw people talking about grant back in season 1 and asking when he would show up
You'd think more people would be upset with what was done with Hector. Guy showed up, didn't progress at all as a character, got treated like an idiot by any character that walked passed him. At least Isaac achieved what he set out to do in the story.
>At least Isaac achieved what he set out to do in the story.
>Setup to be the new antagonist
>Last minute "redemption" arc rendering more than show pointless
I never even played CoD.
>Last minute "redemption" arc rendering more than half of the show pointless
Somehow, adapting a character to be black is more outrageous than adapting a character to be a simp
Dracula good, feminist vampires bad
Prob the most galling thing of all is Dracula getting a happy ending at the end of the series despite all the blood on his hands
It is written by Materialist bugmen. It is like those shitty "sad" scenes in Rick and Morty.
The entire show fricking sucks and every issue gets its own thread, this thread is just about Isaac specifically
>Wanting Grant in this shit show
Grant fighting Fake Trevor, Fake Sypha, and Fake Alucard
>Richter "spin-off" is still happening and we got a nothing trailer.
I expected a politically motivated revision of history under the guise of "muh setting with vampires".
>They are using Richter remake design made by Ayami Kojima herself
>It's apparently animated by an actual Japanese studio this time
>The title of the show is a reference to the original Japanese name of the "trilogy" with Alucard, Maria, and Righter (Akumajou Dracula X Nocturne In The Moonlight, X Nocturne Of Recollection, and X Chi No Rondo).
Well, there's some hope that it's made by people who actually care about this franchise this time at least.
I'm definitely feeling more hopeful here, especially now that Warren Ellis is gone. I'm actually excited to see more.
I was just thinking that they would somehow blame the Church for the French Revolution despite not making a single bit of sense.
Take your meds chudzo lolol
The real issue with the character in OP and pic related isn't the redesign but how they are "OCs in everything but name" thus get special treatment from the writers.
I liked Lords of Shadow more than either
>When Issac comes across the evil white man of the desert.
Really show, Really?
>Bwaaa why is everyone so mean to me and my horrific demon army!? We dindu nuffin!
The original Isaac could've been a cardboard cutout and still been a better character than the Netflix one
Playing Curse of Darkness for the first time, It's weird. Circle of the Moon maybe better.
>are the changes good?
>ignore them
>are the changes bad?
>cry about them
every fricking time
That's like being glad you have new shoes after getting your arms cut off.
Imagine typing this out and thinking you made a good "gotcha"
your right god forbid anyone interrupts your redundant coping, carry on champ
>if change bad... people upsetti
>if change good... people no care
>chekmate atheists!
I'm surprised you didn't go for
>if change bad... people upsetti
>if change good... spill spaghetti
Dunno, it felt like you were setting up for that.
moronic "gotcha" logic aside, what the hell did the show added to the IP for the fans and not weird normalcattle posers?
>Dracula feeds a newborn to his Brides.
"No The Church is the REAL enemy!" - Warren Rapist Ellis
Fricking fedora tippers.
Alteast in the new show they won't sit around for 3 episodes calling each other wienerwarts.
If the show had given Isaac a different name, would people have been okay with everything about him?
No.
No
He would still been a bad character either way
He's just a magical Black.
He's black and uses magic, so that checks.
If you consider Dracula the protagonist of the show like the morally maladjusted writers think, then yes.
Protagonist isn't the same as hero. You can have villain protagonists.
>Magical Black Man has a Moral Compass.
Wow so deep.
If that indian homosexual gets his way, it'll be DMC next.
Fingers crossed for black Sparda.
Aren't Black Muslims gilded?
He's Sufi.
As long as he's not a Christian, That's what matters.
I fricking hate this show, it was written by literal redditors with all those crappy dialogues
>"iam am death and going to eat and shit out your soul",
banale mistanthopy, and of course fedora tipping atheism and constant slander of church
Fedora tippers are just slaves to their baser "needs".
Everything comes down to the next endorphin hit.
what is worse, is that these subhumans are always after so called "low" pleasures, and even when they try to reach high ones they just taint them.
Such "people" deserve no more rights than animals because its all that they are
Shit like this is why i think you could pull randos from the street and they'll write on the same level as those nepotistic israeli caligays
"Moses" would still come with the Captain and Miranda in their story, so I'd still be for it.
That is cringe unless you are conditioned to love the BBC.
I fricking hate the Materialist values in the media.
usually I hate blackwashing but I gave this one a pass just because I hate gays in bdsm gear
I’m assuming that the idea was to mix together Kraven with Puma, but it was easily the worst adaptation in the show.
The 2017 Spider-Man cartoon had some of the worst redesigns I’ve ever seen.
Whoever was hired to do the designs should never get hired ever again.
Now to be fair, as awful as this design is, the Ultimate cartoon’s Goblin was even worse.
OOOOHHHHHH NNNNOOOOOOOOOO
WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS GOOOOOOODDDDDD
