Twas comfy
I'm in Italy right now and goddamn the girls here are so crazy hot how do I get some.
I wonder how much Vespa paid Disney, you can't even buy one here in the states easily
It was alright. Felt very Studio Ghibli
this was better than both turning red and lightyear yet no one talked about it, why is that?
Even though there's a lot of familiar tropes (stereotypical bully, big race competition at the end, liar revealed, etc.) it hit all the right emotional beats to make those tropes enjoyable. It's a welcome breath from Pete Docter trying to one up himself in terms of how much adult themes/existential crisis he can sneak into a children's film. I loved Inside Out and Soul, but it's nice to get a genuine, bona-fide children's film from Pixar.
Discussion of Luca always boiled down to "it's boring" or "I'm very upset by gay subtext even though actual gays didn't think there was enough of it."
Because it was boring. It was by the numbers to the point of being insulting. No wonder they tried to push a gay subtext to the story when none existed because Luca is such a stereotypical kids film with literally nothing unique or new to provide. Every element of Luca has been done elsewhere and better. It's no surprise no one talks about Luca when they could easily discuss another film that does its tropes better.
Cute film
I think for that reason, it ain't a ground breaking story from Pixar. Just a simple, cute, low stakes story.
Disney did a Ghibli.
>avoided the movie for stupid reasons
>has an equally stupid opinion
Why even comment?
It was cute.
I enjoyed it tbh. It's a refreshing Pixar movie.
Eh/10
I think the producers have a foot fetish
Girl was cute I guess
Was fun, but they should've kept the idea of Luca having a crush on Giulia and Roberto getting jealous.
>kept
Anon, your delusions about romantic subtext are yours only.
No, that was literally an early draft. Luca was going to have a crush on Giulia, and Roberto was going to get annoyed that his bro wasn't respecting "homies over hos." In some versions it was going to be resolved by having it turn out that Giulia was evil, then they toned it down to them just resolving shit, then they toned it WAY down to "no romance angle at all" which ironically resulted in people projecting LOTS of romantic subtext.
But yeah, the version with Luca going Full Ariel on a human would've been more memorable. As it is the movie is... fine. It's fine. It's very cozy. Huge improvement over the forgettable mush that was Soul.
Oh, that makes sense.
>which ironically resulted in people projecting LOTS of romantic subtext.
lol, it really did. Just shows how people cannot stand romance-less media.
More like, people are becoming increasingly narcissistic therefore always complaining about how media needs to appeal to them and do everything they expect otherwise it's a flaw.
I would pay so much money for a sequel with Giulia and Luca going out.
Should've kept this. Kids need to learn how to deal with their friends discovering romance and not being a spaz about it.
>Roberto
racist movie
It was nice. I liked it a lot more than Turning Red. Basically there was none of the homosexualry everyone was claiming was in it, the story was simple but heartfelt, and Uncle Ugo was fricking hilarious.
Also Giulia was cute. Even in Spewlia form.
Giulia is underrated.
If Encanto didn’t exist, Luca would’ve won Best Animated Feature.
Didn't taught me anything IDK if it has even a message like other disney movies, but found it comfy and relaxing, and beign italian myself well was a pretty good rappresentation. Would reccomend it to a foreigner.
Single-handedly prove that American cartoons can do the slice of life genre popularized by anime and also shotagays.
Very cute movie. I gotta watch it again. Daniela's feet are my drug.
Told my niece to be careful climbing a tree and she shouted "SILENCIO BRUNO!"
I shit you not.
I collected many fanarts but without the hype and discussions of anons, it's kinda dull.
cute
Honestly, it was the equivalent to lukewarm water; it quenches the movie thirst, but is otherwise unremarkable. Like, when it was over, I just watched the credits roll and my mind was blank. I didn't exactly regret the time I spent watching it, but I can't say it was time well-spent, either. It's one of the movies ever made, that's for sure.
I loved the look of the town, though. The whole movie looks nice, but there's just something about Portorosso that's super comfy.
Don't think it's the greatest movie ever made or anything, but I liked it. It made me feel like I wasted my life not growing up in a place at atmospheric as that little fishing town.
Very sweet and wholesome movie.
I think it needs more porn
Of Gulia
It's sweet. But very gay.
Needed more gay.
Everyone think they are gays because they're good friends.
This world sexualises everything.
I'm going to sexualize you in 5 seconds
It's boring. Really boring. The entire time watching it I felt like the character Luca shouldn't have even been in the movie. The main character being Alberto would have given this a more interesting spin.
Pretty boring for me. So much so that I never finished watching it
It was comfy but boring and comfy makes me fidgety and want to watch something else
I enjoyed it, Giuila was a qt.
dumb fish
Cuuute!
I may be in the minority here because I love the side mouth.
I liked it a lot.
It's my favorite pixar film since Coco.
