Anti-woke comics are just as bad as woke comics and for the same reason.
You want to stick it to the libs, just write a good story without politics.

Bit hard to make a perfectly non-political story about vigilantes. imo the premise of being political isn't an issue, tons of good political stories from both sides of the aisle exist, it's just that comic writers tend to be shit at it and basically just have characters preaching their poorly thought out worldview at readers.

        >Bit hard to make a perfectly non-political story about vigilantes.
Black person, you have decades worth of superhero shows and movies that don't feature politics as anything more than an incidental backdrop if at all.
Why the frick are comics the only medium that insists you HAVE to make everything about topical real-world politics?

Even as a backdrop, heroic vigilantism at its core relies on a failed state, which pops up all the time in the form of corrupt and/or evil elites.
          >Why the frick are comics the only medium that insists you HAVE to make everything about topical real-world politics?
Nobody said any of that. There are comics that aren't about vigilantism.

      >Anti-woke comics are just as bad as woke comics and for the same reason.
Nah, I just fundamentally disagree. An anti woke comic(not even sure what this even means) can be bad, but never in the same way as a woke comic pushing modern left politics is bad. There is a big difference between woke comics, for example, shaming and putting down America versus an anti-woke comic pushing the notion that despite America not being perfect, it's one of the greatest civilizations that man has ever built and that the world as a whole is better off due to it's existence. In point, pushing world views and values that don't correspond to reality or have no basis in reality can never be just as bad as the opposite. It just can't.

I'm cool with it them, as long as they're real and not some kind of grift. If the woke crowd get to take over mainstream why can't regular people have a shot to make something.

if this comic isn't woke then I guess it's hateful and retrograde.

Low IQ reading material. Politics today is all about "muh owning the ____". It's a waste of time and stupid as frick.

Enough with the generic human designs and art style. Enough with the "anti-woke" shit. Enough with the capeshit. Make a samurai or horror anthology series, why does every other indie wannabe have to make capeshit?

Is Doug TenNapel still making comics or has he jumped entirely onto the nft ship while rambling on his locals? I know he's increasingly a meme these days but I liked the first Bigfoot Bill for what it was worth because it wasn't gay capeshit.

      >Samurai
The market is saturated as frick. Ninjas and samurai are everywhere. Might as well pen a Tolkien inspired fantasy novel.

Give me five other ongoing samurai comics that aren't TMNT and Usagi Yojimbo because those two are all I know of.

Because it's about taking down the big 2 first and foremost for a lot of these people, not about building something that's good in a vacuum.

All I care about is the porn. The writing's always going to be shit but maybe JUST MAYBE they'll get some coomer covers to sell more issues.

Look, just because the rippashills are tolerated by the mods for some reason, that doesn't mean ALL you casualgate grifters can rock up and astroturf your shit

Those aren't "anti woke" comics, they're just non-woke. As in they're just focused on telling a story rather than arguing modern political views. I'm really getting tired of Cinemaphile trannies smearing these type of comics this way. I know Eric July has repeatedly said the rippaverse is not "anti woke" but lefties keep making hit pieces saying it is.

That probably has to do with his popularity being based on a youtube channel that's been mostly about b***hing about wokism.

    >conservatives complain about comics being too political
    >so they went out and made a political comic series themselves
so political comics are ok, just as long as its their own approved propaganda

"It's OK if it's MY politics" is literally the one thing both sides agree on.

      >own approved propaganda
Saying America isn't a racist, evil country isn't propaganda. That is just called facts. And expressing values about how working hard and having courage will take you far in life versus blaming failures on oppression and racism isn't subversion, it actually corresponds to reality where as the white oppression narrative is completely fictional.

Bingo. Woke ideology is built completely on nothing but falsehoods. Hence why pushing them so aggressively in media is so off-putting.

The premise does not interest me that much but David Williams is a good artist.
