The original was some of the wonkiest animation ever but at least it had charm.

she has/had it in the comics
they made her a bit darker too, not sure why they changed it up but i dont think its a big deal
i like the show, the animation is lacking but the charm is there
it has the wacky pacing, the characters are down pat outside of minor appearance tweaks etc

hope it continues to be good

I don't like 3D animation, it almost always looks bad except when it's super stylized. Most cartoons would look better 2D. I made the "almost" exception because I though the Mario movie looked nice visually, very stylized and fantastical.

Yeah, it's cheap 3D animation. Since it's 3D they just move the character from point A to point B and call it a day so everyone moves like robots. Maybe if they mocapped everything it could work but that would make 1000x more work to do.

It's not 3D animation, you can go frame by frame and see the inconsistencies in the drawing/linework. Just a really weird art direction.

Apparently it's hand drawn. It doesn't look 3d as well. I think they used some new techniques for backgrounds and such but the characters look drawn compared to what if.. which was 3d. Also it looks good, cyclops got most of the spotlights which I know isn't going to last. Surprised no one made webms for it yet

If it is hand drawn then they tried too closely to resemble 3D. It looks weird.

        Anonymous

It doesn't get your eyes checked. If anything they tried to mimic the stiffness of the old series during dialogues but action scenes are pretty good. I'd say better than any 2d american animation since forever.

      Anonymous

All 2D animation uses ToonBoom now. basically vector-style animation. shows like Archer which are based on dialogue and witty writing don't really care about animating well so it looks stiff and unwieldy. when in the hands of pros it can look pretty authentic and allows the artists to do things like the Sentinel battle in episode one.

The X-men stories are primarily soap opera in comic form, especially in the Chris Claremont era.

it's not even the animation that bothers me, it's the fact that it's mainly a hodgepodge of key frames that don't get worked up into full scenes. Like When the X-Men get attacked in the Sahara and their jet is destroyed... you don't see the attack occur, the bracing from impact, the wreckage, or the exit of the X-Men, you don't even see them land... it's incredibly disconnected.

Another probably was when Roberto was in the Danger Room, it's all these oblique angles and no sense of connection between them.

    >What do you call this lifeless animation?
It's produced by Kevin Feige someone who has never been in the world of animation, X-Men 97 is made entirely in 3d so scenes like the pic related will never be able to be made again, because the animators will not be able to adhere boob jiggling, women with fat ass or even wardorbe malfunction, yes after more than 30 years X-Men 90s has wardorbe malfunction, and I will not put the screen here if I put Disney will cut the scene in Disney plus, so Kevin Feige decided to make it in 3d to take away the freedom of the animators and being made in 3d it really is soulless and one of the things that makes animations fantastic is having studios that want to be better than other studios, just look at Batman TAS Tokyo Movie Shinsha fought with other studios to make the best work, but Feige killed even that, so no scenes like Rogue with Apocalypse
