Nice try but the corporations and politicians are the ones responsible for the situation, not some random person using the cars and jets.
This is just like when they try to push the recycling bs on the public when they know it's completely useless.

These aren't just random people, they are incredibly wealthy and have plenty of impact over politics.
It's in their interests to enforce rationing on the rest of the population to help balance out their lavish lifestyles in regards to climate impact.
These people will be switching to grain derived biofuel for their private jets to be carbon neutral, whilst millions will die from 'un-avoidable' climate change caused famine elsewhere.
The purpose of all this rhetoric is only the betterment of those who control society in the face of necessary de-carbonisation, you don't have to think climate change is fake or a nothing burger to realise this.

        Anonymous

Gender roles are ultimately determined by society, not innate sexual characteristics.
In Iran men who have sex with men aren't men, they are forced by society to become women.
Transgenderism is not necessarily a good thing as such, but these arguments against it are specious.
Just as a 6'4 troony with linebacker shoulders opinion that she is a woman is largely irrelevant, so to is JK Rowling's opinion to much of society.

Lol no. At best society "decides" what their dogmatic and conformist members CALL a man or not. Unfortunately facts aren't changed based on what "society" decides, collectively or otherwise. Regardless of what the mob decides or denies, reality will remain: up is not down, dogs are not cats, straw is not gold, the Earth is not flat, the Moon is not cheese, and men don't have periods.

Is it a fact of biology that women can't vote or own property? Because until fairly recently that was part of what defined being a woman.

                >Because until fairly recently that was part of what defined being a woman.
No, that defined the legal status of women within society, not WHAT a woman was.
Are you being serious right now, bro? You seem to be very, very easily confused by shit that isn't ever and has never been a problem for normal people.

                Anonymous

What defines a woman is socially determined, including by laws and there are countless historical examples of it ignoring sexual characteristics.
I'm not saying I necessarily support the modern liberal view of what a woman is, but ultimately if that becomes the common view enforced by law then there isn't much you can do about it.

Personally I think the whole thing is a stupid compromise and in the long run gender will functionally disappear altogether.

And yet even with all of those cars, planes, boats and helicopters it still doesn't amount to the same pollution that all of these same big gas and energy companies put out every year. You know there’s more to the environment than the CO2 in the air right. I have a ton for motorized vehicles, but I pollute way less than a onions homosexual with their latest ev and phone. Also the most obvious sign of pollution is littering and I don’t see anything done about that. This whole climate change bullshit is just a narrative to introduce new taxes and markets.

I don't know about you guys, but I think we should be giving up non-essential things, like nutritious food, heating and readily available transportation, for the sake of the climate.
We need to make it easier for the people who manage society (not us); we need to make it easier for them to balance the climate budget.
They shouldn't have to ask us or give us anything for it.

If we don't do it then we will be un-avoidably killed by climate change, something who's effects cannot, in any way, be mitigated by other means.
When people die during climate change caused droughts or flooding, that's because of climate change, not because they starved or were drowned, but because you are still eating beef.

Threadly reminder the % of CO2 in our atmosphere is 0.04.
Of that 0.04% less than 4% is manmade.

I currently live on a half acre plot of land in an old wooden house, heated by firewood, water drawn from a well. I grow about 20% of my calories on-site, and drive an EV for 95% of the miles I cover by car.
Soon I plan to move to a smaller house on a larger plot of land, switch to a bicycle for most of my transportation, and attempt to nudge the on-site calories as close to 100% as possible.
Thing is this shit doesn't scale to everybody. We simply have too many people for this kind of lifestyle, even if you ignore the other problems with attempting to scale it up and the fact that most people simply aren't willing to transition to a lower energy lifestyle even if it was offered to them.
When, if, the weather and climate shift so much that crops are failing, productivity plummets, and the modern standard of life and food availability plummets. IF that happens, it's never going to be some kumbaya shift to wearing straw hats and living like the amish. There's going to be a lot of blood.
I'm not a fricking saint. I do this because I don't plan on being anywhere near civilization in my later life if I can possibly avoid it. Because it's probably going to get messy.
Thing is, while I think this is gonna happen in future I can't say how soon that's going to be. It might end up being completely irrelevant in my lifetime. At which point I'm in some kind of eco-pascal's wager and have wasted a lot of life living less comfortably than I might if I'd made a different bet on the near future.
