Cats Don't Dance came out in March 1997. Here's an article from May 1993. Dindal was already the director by then.

    >Cats Don't Dance
    >The Emperor's New Groove
    >Chicken Little
    >The Garfield Movie
Mark Dindal was better at directing 2D movies than at CG movies.

To be fair to him Chicken Little had such a troublesome development I don't blame him for how the final product turned out(And I have nostalgia for that movie), and in the case of Garfield, don't be suprised if executives gutted anything that could have made the movie interesting.

So did cats Don't Dance and The Emperor's New Groove but those both turned out good

Chicken little was doomed from the start. The original concept was awful, and I really can't blame the suits for stepping in even if it only made things worse.

Gender has nothing to do with it, it was just a bad idea. An incredibly basic story of a girl going to summer camp to get over her bad anxiety, isn't exactly worthy of a big budget Disney blockbuster.

A Goofy Movie had a somewhat basic story and look how it turned out. WAAAAY better and entertaining than Disney's actual 1995 renaissance movie.

Rewatched Cats Don't Dance, I adore the character animation on Danny and Sawyer. So much personality. One of my favorite scenes is them reading the movie script.

They did great work, Lauren Faust was in charge of Sawyer but Danny had two animators and if you watch closely between scenes you can sort of tell between them. An article that went into detail about it got posted in a thread here a long time ago but by the time I can find that in the archive this thread will probably be dead.

The Emperor's New Groove is one of the best Disney movies every

Kingdom of the Sun probably wouldn't have been nearly as memorable and no, I don't think Snuff out the Light would have saved it, though it would have been nice to see it fully animated

Robbing us of an Eartha Kitt song was the biggest sin The Emperor's New Groove committed.
Still a great movie, but I agree with you. Would have also loved to see it animated.

At least it was released in some form rather than them just sitting on it forever

So where does Dindal fit into Kingdom of the Sun becoming The Emperor’s New Groove?

IIRC Disney had Dindal create a different cut of Kingdom and had his version and the Allers version compete against each other
