It was thanks to the merch, during the 90s Taz, Marvin and Tweety became the best selling Looney tunes in terms of merch, that's why there's so many Marvin toys for Space Jam 2 despite the fact that he only shows up as a cameo for example
Aren't there just 1001 original Looney Tunes shorts?
So? he was in 18 shorts, more shorts than Gossamer (only 2 shorts) who is still being used, more shorts than Marvin (5 shorts) who is still being used, more shorts than Pete Puma who is only in ONE short yet WB keeps using him in every single Looney Tunes related thing they do or Lola who isn't even a real Looney Tunes character and wasn't on a single short,
He was more of a main character than any of them, By your logic Disney isn't allowed to use Mortimer Mouse in the new Mickey shorts like they do because that character was only in ONE of the original shorts
Poor Pepe Le Pew was in 18 shorts and they still memory hole'd him

Whats wrong with having the dad sound like Bing Crosby? He's gotta sound like SOMETHING. Might as well plug in something that will make adults or precocious kids laugh.
Funnier than you'd expect at points but there's a reason why no one brings it up, let alone in the same breath as other 90's WB series.
I'd watch it before I did Tweety and Sylvester's Mysteries though w
These dumbass spin-off shows would be better if they were treated as prequels where the main character progressively starts turning into the version of himself in the main show as his family dies or goes away.
I want to frick Hugh. More accurately, I want Hugh to frick me. I want to walk into his room, see him wear briefs, his shoes, his blue socks with garters, with a glass of OJ in his hand. He pours it on his undies and tells me to clean it up. I get down on my knees and... yeah.
Bushwacker Bob is one of the more underrated Jim Cummings roles. Basically Basil Fawlty if he was an Aussie.
Taz's dad: 10/10
Taz mom: 6/10
Taz's sister: 5/10
Taz's brother: 4/10
Bull Gator and Axel: 9/10
Digeri Dingo: 5/10 (I feel like he only showed up in one episode)
Francis X. Bushlad: 6/10 (90% of episodes were Francis so he got overused and I'm docking a point for it)
Wendell T. Wolf: 6/10
Platypus Brothers: 6/10
Bushwhacker Bob: 9/10
Bob's mum: 7/10
Mr. Thickley: 8/10
Florence: 7/10
Buddy Boar: 7/10
Kiwi: 4/10
Bushrats: 2/10
Taz's uncle: 8/10
imo it had more good ideas overall than animaniacs did, you really have to like talky humor though, and the taz-only eps with no dialogue weren't very good
Dingo was in quite a few episodes, because they had to make it worth Rob Paulson's while.
Well the Porygon episode of Pokemon caused one wave of seizures in Japan and then a second wave of seizures when the news played the scene on television. I wonder if the show aired over in Japan.
> and then a second wave of seizures when the news played the scene on television
reminds me of that scene from scary movie where they show the cursed video on the news kek
I have this weird personal in-joke whenever Saudi Arabia is brought up in the news I think of the Taz-Mania theme but with Saudi Arabia instead of 'Come to Tazmania'.
I'm sure one could write a whole set of lyrics, but for some reason the fact that they share the same syllables/cadence must have set something off in my child brain. Things like that never leave your head.
I vaguely remember seeing an episode or two from it as a kid but I don't remember what they were about.
I did have the Taz-Mania Mega Drive game though which had some real spastic energy to it that makes me laugh today.
From what I remember it's pretty much just random cartoon hijinks starring Taz and his new OC family.
Just by the way everyone else acts and talks like a normal person it makes Taz seem "special" in comparison.

Little brother was hot but other than that, meh
Like Tiny Toons but less funny.
The director of the show hated it and was forced to work on it.
He only directed one episode, he says so right there.
Bitchy fella
Based, They had little to work with to begin with given that Taz only shows up in 5 of the original Looney Tunes shorts
>Taz only shows up in 5 of the original Looney Tunes shorts
What the frick. How did he become popular with so little exposure?
It was thanks to the merch, during the 90s Taz, Marvin and Tweety became the best selling Looney tunes in terms of merch, that's why there's so many Marvin toys for Space Jam 2 despite the fact that he only shows up as a cameo for example
Taz just became an incredibly popular character in the late 80s Early 90s and was used for a ton of Merch (Pic related is a hat I had growing up)
He was in Daffy Duck's Fantastic Island.
Poor Pepe Le Pew was in 18 shorts and they still memory hole'd him
Considering there’s 1,625 original Looney Tunes shorts, Pepe still only appeared in like 1% of them
The power of a solid design, fun personality and marketing

I did think having Taz's dad occasionally doing pitches for Chesterfield cigarettes was an odd choice.
i thought the series was quite good, what a salty old frick
Hollywood is full of narcissists. Nothing is ever good enough for them.
Because none of you ever went back to anything you ever made and fricking hated it
I loved watching this and Sylvester and Tweety mysteries as a kid, actually just rewatched it recently and still holds up pretty well
blah blah blah yakidy smakidy
The Patrick Star show if it was watchable.
Isn't Tasmania where all the incest happens?
I stopped having incest with my sister just long enough to say: yes, that is correct. I will now continue to make a two headed baby.
It was shit
Sometimes funny but too talky. None of the original characters ever shut up.
I liked it.
Taz is based hard working son, good friend and good oldest brother.
the opening is catchy and kino as frick, at least in my dub. but seriously why taz family is normal? was he literally autistic or somethingt?
Within the context of the show he’s just a normal teen boy
All of his family have "Tazzed out" at least once in the show, so the implication is that he's just in a phase.
Funnier than you'd expect at points but there's a reason why no one brings it up, let alone in the same breath as other 90's WB series.
I'd watch it before I did Tweety and Sylvester's Mysteries though w
Seizure inducing opening.
I remember really liking it, but honestly haven't seen it since it aired originally.
Uneven but generally OK. I liked Bull's ramblings.
What do Tasmanians think of Taz-mania?

He's pretty handsome.
Bushwacker Bob isn't too bad. And Drew's quite the looker, himself.
Bushwacker Bob is one of the more underrated Jim Cummings roles. Basically Basil Fawlty if he was an Aussie.
Dingo was in quite a few episodes, because they had to make it worth Rob Paulson's while.
The Koala was hot
I remember the aboriginal ginger kid. He was kinda funny
Pazmanian pevil
filler. something you put up with while waiting for Batman to start.
opening was pretty based
Yeah no kidding, though I've heard people who are prone to epilepsy aren't as sensitive to TV images as you might think
Well the Porygon episode of Pokemon caused one wave of seizures in Japan and then a second wave of seizures when the news played the scene on television. I wonder if the show aired over in Japan.

holy shit you weren't joking. Thanks for the warning
1. Everyone wanted to frick the dingo
2. I think it's funny that some kid probably died of a seizure watching this shit lol
that's the kangaroo/wallaby, not the dingo
I dunno. I liked it well enough.
I have this weird personal in-joke whenever Saudi Arabia is brought up in the news I think of the Taz-Mania theme but with Saudi Arabia instead of 'Come to Tazmania'.
I'm glad I can finally say this to someone.
Wholesome, I'm glad you shared it with us anon. Gonna try that myself next time.
I'm sure one could write a whole set of lyrics, but for some reason the fact that they share the same syllables/cadence must have set something off in my child brain. Things like that never leave your head.
Only good episode.
Why are they all orange except for taz
They bathe.
I vaguely remember seeing an episode or two from it as a kid but I don't remember what they were about.
I did have the Taz-Mania Mega Drive game though which had some real spastic energy to it that makes me laugh today.
>What does Cinemaphile think of Taz-mania?
Oh right. I watched this.
It exists, I suppose?
From what I remember it's pretty much just random cartoon hijinks starring Taz and his new OC family.
Just by the way everyone else acts and talks like a normal person it makes Taz seem "special" in comparison.
A lot of people said he was on the spectrum, at least in the show.
Only remember the kiwi being super fast.

It's really weird how overall they were an average cartoon family and only Taz - original tasmanian devil from WB, was a naked moron?
The show was honestly kind of boring, but I know the entire theme song off by heart.
