Not bad. I wish they would have stuck closer to the original comics like some of the clips from the teaser trailer.
I really like the look of the teaser film more than the actual style they ended up with.
Removing a lot of the oriignal storyline's edgier points worked well here. I really enjoyed it.
Also the wasp and black widow looked great.
Curious because here the fight scenes seem to mimic the original comic more but there's also some bits that look like the finished movie.
Wish we had more of these animated movies.
Agreed. It's beyond absurd how Marvel has abandoned animation.
Really wish Madhouse would do more of their Marvel anime. Them adapting the Ares comic with the Japanese villain would be fantastic.
Blame it on disney buying them and thus the lionsgate deal falling trough.
Could be cool.
Are they? Betty, Hulk and Hank are all much nicer, as is everyone really. Outside of hank they all have something closer to their 616 characterizations.
It is neat to see that if they start with avengers cap would be the easy POV character.
First was firmly good.
2nd was meh.
Voice actors for Steve & Nat were good.
It was a good first draft for Avengers (2012). Sadly, all the cons of this movie are Ultimate Universe cons in general.
>Sadly, all the cons of this movie are Ultimate Universe cons in general.
???
I seemed to get rid of the big ones (murder pym, cannibal hulk)
Also Steve is much more likable. His thawing scene is much better than the MCU version.
Its good and on the edge of being great. It just needed to turn the dial up a little on the writing and action. Just a LITTLE. Still really good.
I really liked this version of Giant-Man. He was kind of like Guy Gardener, but with Hank Pym’s skillset.
He was a jerk but not a bad jerk
I’m pretty sure that they stopped at the second movie because they don’t want the series to get to Mark Millary
Nope, the third one was supposed to have the x-men.
Gosh dangit
Guessing it would have had wanda and pietro joining a well.
Got cancelled for the avengers next thing.
Bringing 616 Widow in and pretending she was Ultimate Widow was great. She should have got with Tony instead of Cap tho.
Also 1610 Iron Man > Post 1996 616 Iron Man
I miss widow being russian so much.
Cap makes abit more sense id say.
What’s the difference between 616 Iron Man and Ultimate Iron Man?
Ultimate Iron Man harkens back to 63-95 Iron Man in that he's a really smart, really messed up inside billionaire genius who straps into a portable B-29 super-fortress
Modern 616 Iron Man varies between self hating white colonizer wank, RDJ gooftard nonsense, and transhumanist stupidity.
Ultimate Iron Man, from the first time we see him on top of Mt. Everest, brings back that adventuring, daredevil sensibility that Tony Stark is supposed to have. Tony is Marvel's Bruce Wayne, only the playboy facade is actually something he enjoys and indulges.
>self hating white colonizer wank
This is the Cantwell run right?
>RDJ gooftard nonsense
I am pretty sure this is the Benis run
>transhumanist stupidity
Slott run right?
I think the last time 616 Tony was good was with Warren Ellis
>Warren Ellis
The beginning of the transhumanist era with shit like Extremis.
The best 616 Iron Man stuff from the 2000s would be Director of S.H.I.E.L.D and the first 25 or so issues of Fraction's run. Fraction's run ironically does all three of those things but still manages to make Tony likable.
I personally prefer it when the super-spy doesn't give away the fact that she's a Russian super-agent. I'd rather she be like Madonna and have the accent of the place she's living.
I think that when she's relaxed she should talk with a russian accent but be able to copy other ones.
not gonna lie to you I find the idea of Natasha being sexy but the idea of her having a Russian accent incredibly unsexy.
I always read her with a nasally Brooklyn Russian-israeli immigrant accent
being Russian sexy*
>calls Extremis shit
>likes this shitty le heckin wholesome iron man shit
Lmao
Your taste is shit and deep down you know it
>The best 616 Iron Man stuff from the 2000s would be Director of S.H.I.E.L.D
YES. The Haunted arc with the Mandarin was freaking fantastic.
That arc has my third and all time favorite fights between the two of them.
Cool.
>This is the Cantwell run right?
Jfc it is a single panel of the worst character in the series in the best Iron Man since Matt Fraction. Cinemaphile needs to get over themselves.
Can you repeat that in English, ESL anon?
>he doesn't know what jfc means
Jfc.
The best description for Ultimate Iron Man is that he's Gomez Adams with a mech suit.
it's weird that they went with OC aliens
This is from Director of Shield btw
I thought it was good as far as adaptations go. Kinda felt like they wanted to make a TV series but got stuck with a sequel they didn't want.
I felt the movie was a bit too short to try to introduce, team up, all the characters get along with each other, and defeat the big threat in just a 70 minute run time.
I assumed that's just how Straight to DVD Comic Book Adaptations go in the Mid 2000s, but I only really remember liking the Hulk Fight at the end.
From what I understand these movies are a watered down version of Millar's Ultimates.
Basically, but that did mean the characters were a bit less shitty.
It’s basically the same as every other Mark Millar adaption where the movie is always better
The first one is an improvement over Millar tho
Just watched the first one. Unironically better Thor than MCU.
Pretty muc
Ultimate Thor is rad. My only wish is that they went with the whole "What if he's just batshit and not a thunder god" interpretation.
