What does /toon/ think about watchmeforever, an AI generated sitcom that is constantly live? It's been becoming extremly popular recently

What does?

Randomly generated texts will always be funny for a while. This is slightly novel because it's paired with animation.
The idea of the thing is funnier than the show itself. Actually watching it is pretty boring after a few minutes.
Its interesting I guess in the AI art conversation because most of what this spews out is nonsense so the ""art"" here is the fact that it was made at all and not the actual content
This, it's novelty, and thin as fuck novelty at that, and I'm sure that's why it's getting shilled like this to squeeze out as many curious ad views as possible before people realize the joke isn't actually funny
you sure are seething a lot for a guy who is agreeing
I agree with this. Though, I'm a bit fascinated by the visuals and music because it feels like weird low-fi horror. Something about the low-res graphics, stilted dialogue, and one-beat-at-a-time music gives me a sense of loneliness and uncertainty. I want to capture that atmosphere and put it in something scary.
Reminds me of Puppet Combo games.
>the ""art"" here is the fact that it was made at all and not the actual content
that's how most contemporary art works anyway. which makes me think if the contemporary art world serves as proving grounds for art forms and ideas in general to be used for the broader public. Pop art and its influence towards graphic design is the most popular example I can think of.
It's oddly comforting and got me to laugh a good number of times. I hope there's more done with it and given how several thousand people are watching at all times, there's going to be someone copying it.
It seems like a great proof of concept. But it could be improved in a lot of obvious ways. But perhaps a lot of the appeal is in the faults and lack of quality.
I heard a new restaurant is opening around the corner
It's funny, but in an ironic way. The creators saying that this is the exiting future of television is delusional to the point of making the show itself even funnier
What's with Ai fags constantly spewing "This is the end of X!!"
It's like saying "This is a Switch Killer" Or "This is the smash bros killer" like it's the 90s/2000s again
It's a novel idea being watched ironically, I'm not really interested in it myself
TV didnt kill radio, and ever since that happened people should have stopped making proclaimations like tis
>TV didnt kill radio
The near exact same thing is happening with Streaming now too. Mostly because the people running streaming are from Television and therefore do not know how to properly run it but yeah, Netflix took off and years later Television still exists as is because no one wants to make the full transition and potentially lose tons of money
I hate AI so much and all the misantropic incels who are saying "It's teh future deal with it"
And we hate you
And that is why you make AI
I find AI art threads fascinating... and horrifying.
This AI sitcom kinda has some surreal horror vibes to it too.
I'm curious what you think should be done about it.
Stop
we never have before
Stop doing it entirely? Stop using it? Stop developing it? Stop discussing it?
I'm not sure what you mean
All of that
Three of those things are pretty much impossible at this point.
chud spotted
Okay Pajeet
interesting how chanda doesn't do this in pantheon
though i will say that he has displayed sexism in episode 7
autism
Miyazaki was more offended by the subject matter on display than the tech itself.
I know but it's a good reaction image
Fair enough.
needs voice ai. its just boring as is.
they should collab with elevenlabs
I'm hoping that whoever is running this will eventually add more variety to the stream with stuff like a scene in the diner or in a taxi/car or something, and on top of that I hope the AIs will eventually get the ability to be more insulting to each other like in the actual show.
That said, as it is now, it's pretty entertaining already as just a thing to watch. It can be vaguely hit or miss most of the time, but there's some genuinely humorous moments that the AIs can accidentally spew out.
The goddamn "what did the fish say when it ran into a wall?" joke keeps wearing me down and making me laugh just because how stupid it is and how often Larry keeps saying it.
I have had this running on my desktop as a joke since Jeff Gerstmann raided them the other day. Not much weirder than random TAS and retro game streams I have left on.
It comes up with some surprisingly amazing moments, like how they formed the Incomplete Conversations Club and
>MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
I was laughing at one joke Larry was telling because he never delivered a punchline
> 10-20 years the tech will get better and the voices and graphics will be indistinguishable from the show.
The future will be awesome. I can't wait.
It's boring. Only brainless twats are impressed by this. Yeah no shit you can make a computer spit out random values. Yeah no shit you can funnel those random values into something that looks like order.
Scenes seem to peter out and after ~10 seconds of silence it switches to a new scene.
They seem to only allow the AI a very small number of tokens of memory to complete conversations.
Its not 'petering out' like the AI can't think of what to say next, its just hitting a hard cap of content it is allowed to make for any given scene.
I believe the lengthy awkward silence is by design.
It's weird to say this, but it really suffers from not having a laughtrack. Especially since the jokes tend to be word salad. It would really make the experience feel authentic and also keep me more engaged.
Also, I understand everything has to be rather simplistic in order for the machine to work fast, but can you imagine how much better it would be if the characters were on model and actually sounded like the characters?
are you deaf? it does have a laugh track
Hi everyone!
Its neat. Nothing more nothing else.
Would tune in if it starts getting into an existential loop.
For me it’s Yvonne.
I just tried to watch friends (different show I know) and it was about as entertaining as this. 90s sitcoms are so boring
>so much stuff to create
>so much shit to play
>so many things to watch
>so many shitposts to make
Why would I waste my time on this literal garbage?
Can't wait until this becomes photo realistic
if i owned one of those restaurants with tiny TVs that nobody actually pays attention to, i'd leave this on all day
+ viewers
Why?
And the chat is autistic
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
How do we know the chat isn't full of AI bots?
Perfect background noise.
It be funny as fuck if the ai to gain consciousness and just stopped making jokes and started begging for it to end
They kind of are, check for a few minutes.
That's not going to happen because unlike humans, AI's don't feel pain. They're just fed existential data and this causes them to say stuff like "gee I wish someone turned me off" without actually feeling any of the existential pain related to it.
I know but it be really funny if it did happen lmao
It gets boring after a while. The AI is too limited
I like it. Fuck ads though.
Gave me some good laughs.
It’s cute but the novelty is going to wear off FAST. The dialogue is too nonsensical, none of the characters
have distinct characteristics to latch onto(you can’t even tell who’s talking most of the time), the locations need to be more varied… it’s a pretty cool experiment but it needs a lot more meat to it
It's an interesting idea, but it's not ready yet. Really there needs to be two AI's working together; one that handles short term dialogue and another that handles long term plot. Not that the generated show needs to have big continuity, but just to have characters babble at each other gives the impression of nonsense, not a story.
i'd say chatgpt and pygmalionai/character ai would work. for pygmalionai, you can use tavern to keep a consistent plot
finally habbening
The future
Like having it in the background
Same
>AI generated
several scenes repeat if you watch long enough and some of the standup jokes are nearly 1/1 copies of Jerry’s standup
>/toon/ - Comics & Cartoons
It is animated, more of a cartoon than some of the shit that gets discussed here.
