What does /misc/ think of Cobra Kai?
What does?

It's just another "White man has to pass his legacy to POC" gnomish schlock for goy show.
But it's one of the better ones.
This. I was really digging it early on with how Cobra Kai was actually helping kids deal with bullys but the complete turn to evil heel turn was too much. I get scaling back on the No Mercy stuff but abandoning Cobra Kai teachings all together was a mistake.
Yeah the first episode was really good. I actually appreciated seeing something as novel as a drunk middle aged protagonist kick the shit out of a bunch of teenagers. It was a risk but it worked.
But more than that, I liked the way they were sort of sussing out the good and bad of assertiveness and aggression. The nuance of rejecting a totally reactive and pussy approach to life without being a raging lunatic like his old mentor.
>sussing out the good and bad of assertiveness and aggression
this is where the show truly shines. we all know that aggressive asshole who helped us become a better person.
i love that it has a load of gen-x classic FM radio rock and doesn't treat it as cringe or embarrassing
the biggest issue for me is the target audience changes seemingly on a whim. I get having the teenage interpersonal drama as a throwback to 80s cheese, but when you have boring brain dead dialogue for those scenes, it suffers.
>I liked the way they were sort of sussing out the good and bad of assertiveness and aggression.
This was a huge draw for me the first 2 seasons. It balanced the slock parody of 80s teen dramas well with being genuine lessons that passivity in life causes more problems then good. It's a shame they went full slock to drag this shit out for 6 seasons. It should have ended after four.
QUIET!
I appreciate the fact that this always works. The moment it doesn't, Johnny will have lost any and all authority he had in the show.
He's literally me, only I got fat when I quit martial arts and lived on a diet of broken dreams and 7-11 pizza. Also I have no redemption arc
But anon, didn't you hear what Johnny said?
>If I can change, and you can change, than everyone can change!
Maybe you could become one of those fat martial arts badasses like Sammo Hung
I feel more like a Steven Seagal but thanks for the kind words anon
You're welcome, but I mean it. Its never too late to change.
zoomerhatecore
I'm a martial artist and this show made me realize that people who insult others online are pussies, so now I shittalk people to their faces instead and it feels so much more meaningful.
Thanks Cobra Kai
It's just another "toxic masculinity bad, minorities good" propaganda piece.
I cant imagine being as pathetic as this person.
Cobra Kai is a fucking fun, funny show. If you watch it and cry about propaganda you are totally fucking lost in life.
No, you're lost in life when you're willing to forgive anything as long as it's "fun" and "funny".
Theres nothing to “forgive”. I dont cry in my pillow anytime a show has a character that’s slightly brown in it. Absolutely pathetic creature.
Why even try and make a coherent point when you're going to end up resorting to a strawman anyway?
You just 'cry into your pillow' when other people complain about browns instead.
My attention and time are limited. Entertainment is endless. Browns and uggos are not my thing. I also don't like being lectured.
>t. cuck

Straight up bullshit
Peak Reddit
They try so hard to make you care about some bullshit generational blood fued but all I want to do is ogle the cute girls
This show's action scenes are so much better than Netflix Iron Fist's.
Every single actor in this show could probably kick Iron Fist's ass.
I like it. It became dumb when it overchaged on teenage drama, but then it kept going to the point it became silly and fun again.
Wish the characters hadn't all lost their character development after the mexican broke his back, but eventually they all got it back so I can appreciate that.
Sadly the adult stuff suffered instead. It all became ridiculous to the point they should all be in jail, but whatever.
started as an amazing revival show but turned into cartoonish teen show pretty quick after season 1.
quite a shame because in season 1 they had done everything perfectly
it started out strong. with only real flaw being larusso having shitty children. by season 3 it had lost its way.
QUIET!_____________
YES SENSEI!
I love what they did with Terry Silver in season 5.
They took a hammy, ridiculous, 80s villain, and turned him into a genuinely terrifying threat, while also still having him act hammy and over-the-top.
If Terry Silver offered (YOU) a house and all the game consoles and movies you wanted but in exchange, he beats the shit out of you in order to frame John Kreese, would you do it?
It was briefly great.
Daniel should've nutted in Kumiko back in the day and made a hapa LaRusso for Chozen to train up in Okinawa without Daniel's knowledge. After the startling revelation, Daniel tries to connect with Hapa LaRusso who now has to choose his real father. Only through a tragicomedy of errors, trite misunderstandings, and the faux pas-filled encouragement of Johnny Lawrence, does Hapa LaRusso finally realize both of them are his fathers and together they save Kreese at the last minute and murder Terry Silver with Miyagi's full-power nose-honk of dishonor
