>“The beautiful is hidden from the eyes of those who are not searching for the truth, for whom it is contra-indicated. But the profound lack of spirituality of those people who see art and condemn it, the fact that they are neither willing nor ready to consider the meaning and aim of their existence in any higher sense, is often masked by the vulgarly simplistic cry, 'I don't like it!', 'It's boring!' It is not a point that one can argue; but it like the utterance of a man born blind who is being told about a rainbow. He simply remains deaf to the pain undergone by the artist in order to share with others the truth he has reached.”
― Andrei Tarkovsky, Sculpting in Time
Michael Bay Transformers. Fricking hell are those films absolutely exhausting to watch. And I like quite a few of other Bay films great. But he completely half assed everything outside of special effects with that franchise. Repetitive in an unengaging way, the pacing is simply bad.
Also most of the replies ITT reek of ADHD.
Fell asleep during Dune 2. AMC Dolby, great seats too. So fricking boring compared to the first. Every scene overstayed it's welcome. Music was droning. I fell asleep during the black and white planet fight scene, woke up, and it was STILL on that planet. Passed out during the fight at the end too. On rewatch I fell asleep 20 minutes in. Dune 1 shits all over the sequel.
Oppenheimer. I fell asleep during it. When you name your movie Oppenheimer you’re making an unspoken promise to your audience that you’re going to show a few nuclear explosions, most importantly the two in Japan. Some WWII fighting would have been nice too. A lot nicer than a bunch of buttholes talking about communism in sparsely furnished rooms for 2 hours
I fell asleep to bladerunner2047 but that was probably due to stuffing my fat face with maccies right before I went in. That and the fact that I was the only person in the theatre.

Boring “truth” is for academic lectures. Art is supposed to move you emotionally first and intellectually in retrospect.
