The cheif issue with TPB is it's basically two different shows with the same name. There's the actual show, that was run by Mike Clatenburg, which consists of something like the first 7 seasons, which is genuinely funny and worth watching.

Around season 8 or somethign the showrunner was having issues with the cast and apparently had issues with funding, so he decided to end the show. The three boys decided to buy the rights to the show and continued producing material for it, although most of that is podcast shit and merchandise, think IASIP.

The "second" version run by the three boys is awful unwatchable garbage. It sucks too because the boys are good guys they just lost the thread a little.

Canada is a cultural wasteland. any Canadian with talent just becomes American and works for Hollywood making American movies. That is how you become successful here, you move to the USA.

Les Colocs have a great musical range. A lot of World Music sounds. Iconic band in Québec, but the singer an hero'd in 2000

If you like prog, there's Harmonium

Offenbach and their singer Gerry Boulet were the biggest rock stars in Quebec in the 70s and 80s

Thank you, Quebec in general has been my favorite place to visit in North America. Montreal is the least awful major city in North America and Quebec City was like stepping into a time machine to before 9/11. Overwhelmingly white, the people were kind and it felt like there was a strong sense of community and people actually enjoying life. Coming from my miserable shithole in the Northeastern US, it felt like how things should be.

Wouldn't want to be there long term because its often dangerous, too car dependent and too hot. But, it is a lot of fun for a year or two. If you have a degree look into the TN visa, its a nafta thing allowing professionals to get jobs between north american nations. Its unfortunately now a backdoor for jeets who get a meme degree in ontario, but you probably could find a job if you really wanted to.

Merci beaucoup mon amis, the effort is appreciated. While we're on the subject, any good Quebecois music or literature I should check out? I'm nowhere near reading fluidly but I'm heading up to Montreal in a couple weeks for another visit and it's always nice to go used book shopping.

Do you guys ever do your own dubs or just rely on International French dubs?

          Anonymous

Rely is a big word. There's a lot of "international" french dubs done in Quebec. Titanic is one of them. A lot of stoner comedies had joual dubs for region-1 DVDs. They didn't show up on the blurays or streamers though. Namely the Cheech and Chong series.
I hate watching dubs though. I'm bilingual and I know how to read subs (both in french and english), so I'll always watch with the original audio. Some movies are actually pretty good in joual dubs. Slapshot with Paul Newman works so much because hockey rooms will always sound a bit Québécois. The Cheech and Chong series too (the mixing is terrible though)
The Simpsons is better with the Québec dub.

i grew up in the rural Deep South and this was one of mine and my dad’s favorite shows on PBS.

It made Canadians relatable to Rural America. it reminded is that Canadians might be a bunch of homosexuals but at least we had hunting and fishing and DIY in common.

I grew up ina trailer (but not in a triler park) so I thought that Trailer Park Boys was hilarious.
