I'm curious about this anon if you're still here. How so? Is he disguising his accent because if so that's sad. Based northern Doctor (without Jodie's autism)
Her ENTIRE RUN looks bad, sounds bad, is acted badly, written badly and completely fricks over any established lore for no reason. Even an ugly black woman (as a previous version of the Doctor) utterly MOGS her with 5min screen time. If this franchise was owned by a commercial entity everyone would have been fired after her first season or the show completely cancelled. They are scraping the bottom of the barrel now by bringing back RTD and T&T.
Pic related is far and away the best moment of Jodie's entire run.

I wish they'd given her a hair style that more closely resembled her normal hair, and that they hadn't dressed her in Oxfam
Love and Monsters is genuinely better than 95% of Jodie's entire era, though I never thought it was a bad episode. Fear Her is better than Jodie's entire era.

The other anon is underselling just how dull it is now. Its not bad in an interesting way at all. Even the episode that destroys all the show's previous history is presented with all the excitement of a PowerPoint presentation (literally). Unironically just watch a youtube video on it all if you're that interested
It's the only way to save the show, I think. Either make it non-canon, which won't happen, or reveal that it's all a bullshit conspiracy for some reason, which I wouldn't trust anyone to handle well. The show is fricked.
I imagine it'll be something like;
Ignore it for a number of years, then in a future episode the doctor says something about, the master tricking doctor into thinking he was some 'timeless child' but it turned out to not be true.
We don't really know where Ruth stands, but most probably between 2 and 3. But yes Chibnall did add a shit-ton of previous incarnations before Hartnell.
That's nothing. You just wait until Centenary special where we find out The Timeless Child is The Doctor's and Yaz's secret love child and no I'm not lying, this is what is actually happening according to latest rumors.
>according to latest rumors
It's been a while, larpanon. Well at least you're trying to bait normies, for a change.
Smith announcement tomorrow, by the way.
Unit is under attack from multiple incarnations of The Master including John Simm and Selena Gomez. Eric Roberts is also said to appear. Cyberlords also feature as do The Daleks.
The Masters kill Jodie in first ten minutes of special.
Yaz using Tardis goes back in time and begins to recuit a number of Doctor mutiple past incarnations to try and save her life bringing multiple number of companions along with them.
Once all The Masters are defeated, Doctor is force to use Eye Of Harmony in Tardis to repair hole in time and space that they presence caused simply by being together. Realising energy from Eye Of Harmony is not enough, Doctor sacrifices herself hoping her regeneration energy will be boost she needs to fix everything. This is how she regenerates. Final words "Say Goodbye Doctor. Goodbye Doctor".
Regenerates into David Tennant but speaks with Tom Baker voice. " What ? " "What ?" As apparently during three David Tennent specials he will be sporadically speaking in different voices belonging to different incarnations as he looks for a solution to his degeneration. In blow for those wanting Timeless child scrap, even Jo Martin is said to of recorded some lines as has Ncuti Gatwa.
I've only seen the pilot and I think the second episode with the female doctor. I thought it was ok, not great, not awful. The old man seemed like a potentially cool/interesting sidekick. Surely the show hits its stride and gets better from there on out?
I sat through most of it and regret everything. There was a moment when doctor got sent into past and in the present villain trapped companions inside falling plane. But they found video from the doctor telling them how to fix the plane. And in the end they tell doctor this and she's like oh yes I should go back in time to set this up. Even though she just been in the past.
I think this encapsulates everything about the Chib.
Imagine you step in dog shit. You stop to take off your shoe and scrape off the shit with a stick. While doing this you accidentally step in the dog shit again, this time covering your sock in it. As you try to pull off your shit-covered sock you lose your balance and fall face-first into the dog shit, splattering dog shit into your mouth, eyes, ears and up your nose. That's what Doctor Who is like now.
Mistake, Anon. >Didn't see Heaven Sent >Sleep No More >Dark Water/Death In Heaven >World Enough And Time >End of the River Song arc, which was a bit of alright
Lots of other good episodes. Just make sure you skip every episode with Maisie Williams in it.
I mean yeah Anthony Ainley was dying every episode practically but it was never as cut and dry as John Simm literally telling Missy she won't regenerate
Her first season had maybe two half-decent episodes, three or four awful ones and the rest were absolutely mediocre and boring. I've watched the first episode of the second season, it was the same boring shit so I dropped the show.
Godawful. Say what you will about RTD or Moffat but for every one of their moronic flaws, they had a spark of creativity or competence or ambition to cover for it. It was watchable even when shit, and when it was bad you still cared enough to get angry over it. The 13th Doctor's period has been so pointless and lame that it's not worth feeling any emotion over it, and somehow that's much worse to me than being angry. Narratively and thematically S1-10 feel like a cohesive and coherent tale with different chapters. S11 and onward feel like a bad project that proves why some people are just not meant for television.
The whole premise of the show is so ridiculous that whoever plays the doctor has to have drive.
They need to sell it and Jodie isn't doing it, not even trying.
the last season is on HBO Max, it goes back to being crazy, the earlier shows with her were too normal, the latest season was good and she seems to own the role now, just watch the last season
From what I have watched and also heard from others, it is bad-to-terrible - at its best (and this is being generous) it is only mediocre. This applies to music, acting, general writing, characterisation of the Doctor, and (the most egregious aspect) its attitude towards / what is does to the lore.
To give you an idea of its condition, something like the 'dying' MCU or 'killed' Star Wars look positively healthy in comparison to Doctor Who. Rather than course correct or cancel the show, the BBC doubled-down in their deluded haughtiness.
If you want one word to describe the new season of Doctor Who: soulless.
The ultimate problem was that on the whole, the show started preaching to the fricking choir about social issues. I just want a fun space time adventure, not to be lectured to that gay people are okay.
The Doctor becoming a woman is such a lazy and foolish change in itself but, it is made even worst by how they do nothing with it. You would think it would provide new story possibilities and ideas. The Doctor adjusting to being a woman in general, and as a woman finding themselves in new situations and circumstances.
Yet, for all intents and purposes the 13th Doctor as they wrote her may as well have been a man. Some Twitter progressive would probably argue that the Doctor being a woman shouldn't make a difference but, that line of thought just goes to show how mind rotted and shallow they are. If Chibnall was competent he could have genuinely have done something with the concept of a female Doctor.

>The Doctor goes back in time and gets accused of being a witch as she is a learned woman. Fairly obvious where this episode will go and what its theme will be. Radical feminists on Twitter (who don't even watch the show) praise it.
next episode >Doctor goes to a planet that is governed by radical feminists. The show unquestionably makes them the villains. It compares their deranged and dogmatic views with the Doctor's balanced stance of equality and embodiment of positive feminine qualities. The same radical feminists on Twitter seethe.
>Doctor goes to a planet that is governed by radical feminists. The show unquestionably makes them the villains. It compares their deranged and dogmatic views with the Doctor's balanced stance of equality and embodiment of positive feminine qualities. The same radical feminists on Twitter seethe.
Wait what?
whats extremely funny is that now that the doctor is a black man, they'll 100% be writing episodes that entirely revolve around race and the doctor having to be an outcast or looked at differently (but NO, it has nothing to do with him being a gay Black person in outer space you racists!)
The funniest one was the time travelling space racist who wanted to prevent the Rosa Parks event from happening. No motive. Just a space racist from the future.
It's painfully mediocre for the most part with a handful of okay and bad episodes scattered around. It could've been salvaged with some decent writers though.
There's a lot of hyperbole thrown around online by clickbaiters because "muh female doctor" but Jodie Whittaker is no Brie Larson, she's likable, but the characterization of her doctor is paper thin and bland, generic. The black female doctor actually gave a more interesting performance but she's cameo tier.
Peter Cushing was the best doctor, followed by the first doctor and then the second doctor and then the third doctor and then Tom Baker and then doctor who ended. Blakes seven was good to and logans run and battlestar galactica. Nothing good happened to any of these things after 1990
>Jodie turns off South Asian Master's psychic illusion field so that when the Nazis reach the top of the Eiffel Tower, they will find an Indian in their clothes and apprehend him
uhhhhhhhhhhhhh Thasminsisters?
Wouldn't this just help him escape? >Where's the spy, Chad thunderwiener?
Uh, yes sir, he put me in his clothes and did run away, sirs >Uh, okay, get the frick out of here darkie
It's offensively dull. Three seasons (or two seasons and a really long episode) and not once has it left me smiling as a viewer.
Pardon my Cinemaphileposting but I highly recommend watching Space Dandy if you're looking for fun wacky sci-fantasy adventures.
The got a new head writer, Chibinal.
He immediately gave his new Doctor a set of 3 companions, which the Doctor immediately declared to be her equals, and put them to work like there were no worries. It gets even worse from that point forward.
>which the Doctor immediately declared to be her equals
except for suddenly in the only half decent episode of S12 declares that she's miles above them
It really is impossible to write the show properly until somewhere they acknowledge that the Doctor knows fricking everything and the companions are paperweights that only exist to justify dialog.
I'm fine with them coming prepackaged with some obvious type of skill, but they have the bad habit of making old companions into mini-doctors. It's why Clara needed to die. It's why all of Whittaker's companions need to die.
>It's why Clara needed to die
Well yes but at the same time, she was written like this on purpose. She larped as the Doctor and paid the price. He warned her about exactly this in Before the Flood.

I think her biggest problem is how she was written as the Doctors autism wrangler. It automatically kept the Doctor from acting like the Doctor. I'm glad he got a chance to shine when Bill became the companion. Capaldi with Bill was a good era, but too short.
All 3 showrunners are fans who brought their very specific fanfics on board.
RTD: Doctor is a gay icon, loud and flamboyant
Moffat: Doctor is a mythic figure and fricks hot violent milfs
Chibnall: Top 5 crazy fan theories that explain everything. Number 4 will blow your mind.
All these homosexuals b***hing about WHOlore when this fricking series has never care one bit about it. Remember when the Dalek were extinct, until they werent? Remember when the weeping angels killed you by sending you back in time, until they didnt? Remember when the doctor never uses weapons, until he does?
The series has many strong points but lore? Frick off.
The underlying lore of DW was always weird and abstract. It was also easy to staple new weird ideas onto it. The biggest way Chibinal harmed the lore was to anchor it to politics. Anyone that dares to touch his new canon will get raked through the coals. It's radioactive now.
I would love to see an episode where the sixth doctor's daughter goes on deep jungle adventures. It could be like Leela, the fourth doctor's companion, but maybe more submissive. Well kinda haha but I would watch that
Avoid it. You’ll never see the show the same way again.
Yeah same.
Are the ninth doctor audio adventures any good?
If you’re into the lore you betcha
>Are the ninth doctor audio adventures any good?
Not really, no. Eccleston changed his Doctor's voice on purpose. Stories are either shit or only meh.
>Eccleston changed his Doctor's voice on purpose.
I'm curious about this anon if you're still here. How so? Is he disguising his accent because if so that's sad. Based northern Doctor (without Jodie's autism)
surely she had a good episode or two, right? survived love and monsters.
Nope, they're literally ALL garbage
They're all bad. There's one or two that are slightly less shit than the others but they'd still be considered the worst epiaodes in any other series.
Her ENTIRE RUN looks bad, sounds bad, is acted badly, written badly and completely fricks over any established lore for no reason. Even an ugly black woman (as a previous version of the Doctor) utterly MOGS her with 5min screen time. This is all very true but Jodie is cute

Don't. It's like watching paint dry except instead of paint it's fecal matter.
Resolution of the Daleks is kino.
I unironically liked the Rosa Parks one but that's only because I can overlook hamfisted political messages if the execution is otherwise decent.
It's gotten so bad that the new showrunner is deleting three Doctors and going back to Tennant to get the show back on track again.
>Tennant
>I dunt wana go
No thanks
>deleting Matt
I'll never come back to it. Shit, what am I saying? It'll never unpozz anyway so idfc thanks for the kino. I'm out.
Your mistake was not stopping after Peter Cushing
They retconned it that William Hartnell wasn't the first Doctor, but there is an incarnation before him who is a fat sassy black woman. Not a joke.
I would literally laugh my ass off if the first thing RTD did was make the Endless Child non-canon.
It's the only way to save the show, I think. Either make it non-canon, which won't happen, or reveal that it's all a bullshit conspiracy for some reason, which I wouldn't trust anyone to handle well. The show is fricked.
They have to pull a Rise of Skywalker to even be remotely close to saving the show.
I think they'll just solemnly ignore it and pretend it never happened.
I imagine it'll be something like;
Ignore it for a number of years, then in a future episode the doctor says something about, the master tricking doctor into thinking he was some 'timeless child' but it turned out to not be true.
Just have it be the Master
No. It's a shit concept to begin with. Better wipe it out of existence.
We don't really know where Ruth stands, but most probably between 2 and 3. But yes Chibnall did add a shit-ton of previous incarnations before Hartnell.
she is before Hartnell, she didn't know what a sonic screwdriver was. 2 had a sonic.

>reading larpanon's shit
I'm sorry he got you, anon.
Do you like sunday school and being preached to about dumb shit?
The Chibnall era is the worst the show has been in its entire history. Maybe one good story in the past three series.
The only good thing from the Chibnall era is the sontaran redesign.
simple as.
I've only seen the pilot and I think the second episode with the female doctor. I thought it was ok, not great, not awful. The old man seemed like a potentially cool/interesting sidekick. Surely the show hits its stride and gets better from there on out?

Lots of other good episodes. Just make sure you skip every episode with Maisie Williams in it.
Capaldi's era is the best of the revival, but it's also bad at being comfy Doctor Who. If that makes any sense.
you missed danny pink getting run over
Why are they promoting the run of episodes that are airing in 2023 more than the next episode which is going to air in like 2-3 months?
They (Chinball) want to keep the surprises, mystery boxes and cliff hanger a secret, so that people might actually tune in to watch this time.
How is the Master still alive and how did he regenerate after Missy was fataly wounded in The Doctor Falls, and what happened to his characterization
The Master "Dies" a lot so no suprise he's back.
What happened to his arch? Chibs
I mean yeah Anthony Ainley was dying every episode practically but it was never as cut and dry as John Simm literally telling Missy she won't regenerate
Some people say Sacha's master was before Missy.
>never as cut and dry
He caught cat AIDS.
John Simm died got brought back from a ring, one master was gooey skeletor, the 8th doctor movie
Master is Rory of the timelords
>gooey skeletor
>children's tea-time show
wasn't that fun, let's bring that back
Done.
Holy shit vp9 is nice but encoding is so fricking slow.
Chibs told Jodie not to watch any Doctor Who before taking the part, I think he followed his own advice too
>characterizatiion
Missy's was shit. "lul I'm good now!" So we didn't miss much. Still, nothing indicates he comes after Missy.
Her first season had maybe two half-decent episodes, three or four awful ones and the rest were absolutely mediocre and boring. I've watched the first episode of the second season, it was the same boring shit so I dropped the show.

The premise is basically an anthology with recurring cast. Nothing inherently wild.
Unironically the absolute WORST of everything
>Worst Doctor
>Worst companions
>Worst scripts
>Worst direction
>Worst soundtrack
>Worst acting
>Worst TARDIS
It's fricking baffling that Chris Chibnall is a Doctor Who fan considering how determined he is to shit all over the show
He wants his fan fiction real.
Yaz > Rose
no, the only way this would be true is if the final Jodie episode is a bunch of kinky lesbian sex
the last season is on HBO Max, it goes back to being crazy, the earlier shows with her were too normal, the latest season was good and she seems to own the role now, just watch the last season
It's still shit. Chib has no focus.
It's shit. Like a massive steaming pile of shit.
not great. not her fault, but not great
So the original doctor was a black woman all along?... compelling content you brits
I does raise the question as to who The Doctor chose to be a white male for 13 times in a row. Is the character secretly a racist?
>secretly
From what I have watched and also heard from others, it is bad-to-terrible - at its best (and this is being generous) it is only mediocre. This applies to music, acting, general writing, characterisation of the Doctor, and (the most egregious aspect) its attitude towards / what is does to the lore.

Wait what?
I was talking about what they could have done.
Kerblam killed r/antiwork though.
what are you talking about, the episode after the Witchfinders is the one about the bad dad in Norway
whats extremely funny is that now that the doctor is a black man, they'll 100% be writing episodes that entirely revolve around race and the doctor having to be an outcast or looked at differently (but NO, it has nothing to do with him being a gay Black person in outer space you racists!)

Internet racists will break the time barrier.

lmao
You've been CHIB'ED!
>I stopped watching after Peter Calpadi left.

No.
Same artist, right? I wonder what's his fetish.
Looks like it. Same with this one. No idea who the artist is. Not even sure where I got these couple from.
It's painfully mediocre for the most part with a handful of okay and bad episodes scattered around. It could've been salvaged with some decent writers though.

the diversity quota stuff would have been fine if the writing didn't completely shit the bed. funny how these two things so often go hand in hand.
>the diversity quota stuff would have been fine
I mean, some years back it had that and obvious social commentary and it WAS fine
MEET DAN LEWIS
I am guessing the cancer finally killed /who/.
No, Janny did.
Best Doctor.
I miss this big chin fricker like you wouldn't believe.
These were the glory years, we just didn't know it at the time
I hated Matt for replacing Tennant. Now he's my favorite Doctor of all time. Rory and Amy helped.
Have sex
Colin Salmon is an underrated Doctor.
>What is Doctor Who like now?
I stopped watching after Tom baker and I've never regretted that decision.
It went from Dr Who to Dr Karen, and now it's going to Dr Whodat.
Avoid. It's dead. Let it go.
>Jodie goes into the past and meet Nazis
>Next episode she's gassing a bunch of subhumans
I don't think Nazis were a good influence on her.
Remember, she left paki Master with the Nazis so they would deal with him. 13 is mental.
He could just tell them he came to ask for their help against British oppressors. I'm not sure why he needed the disguise.

Troughton was the best Doctor by a country mile but otherwise I concur with this assessment
Uh, yes sir, he put me in his clothes and did run away, sirs
>Uh, okay, get the frick out of here darkie
'ate Jodie
'ate Chibs

As long as they use basic human companions, yes. God forbids we get someone actually not retarted come along.
We need a fighter companion. Like a biker babe from Mad Max future. Or a thief companion. To accommodate Doctor the wizard.
Capaldi with Bill was a good era, but too short.
it's awful. Been a big fan since 2005 and im very close to quitting it
All 3 showrunners are fans who brought their very specific fanfics on board.
RTD: Doctor is a gay icon, loud and flamboyant
Moffat: Doctor is a mythic figure and fricks hot violent milfs
Chibnall: Top 5 crazy fan theories that explain everything. Number 4 will blow your mind.
>I stopped watching after Peter Calpadi left. What have the last seasons been like? Worth watching or not?
ummm, Anon, I...
He has to be stopped. It's gone too far.
NL
It's probably the most pozzed of all the old classic franchises currently being "rewritten for modern standards".
Frick off.
I don't care about lore and I'm mad at Chib for suggesting I should, but only about his moronic ideas. He devoted whole episodes to this garbage.
Exactly. Stop caring about this show. The people behind it obviously don't. It's absolute shit and should not be watched by anyone.
