Now, a roastie watching this scene would immediately come to the conclusion that these characters are actually gay for each other because of "subtext." Women simply cannot comprehend a bond like this, and any close male relationship must be fetishized as homosexual for them. It's why "Frodo and Sam are gay" is memed so much. Women can't fathom brotherhood forged in fire because they harbor resentment for other women.

I love boat kino bros. A fond memory I have was when I broke up with a long time gf and began to read The Terror in the middle of winter. I'd turn the furnace pretty low, pretty much off, and curl into a thick comforter and read as the snow fell outside my window. Probably the most content I'd ever been.

The show didn't disappoint. Anyways what I'm here to say is that boat kino is always kino because it generally lacks women, it's just the bros against nature and the sea. Also im druk okay thanks bye. ALSO before i go i must say that the narrative of arthur pym is based and Poe's best work, i dont care yeah i said it okay BYE i forgot this was Cinemaphile. thank ya

A man navigates reality like a boat in a sea. Reality is beautiful, but hostile. Unpredictable. Men steer a course toward a single goal and hardness nature to steer through nature.
A boat is like a social organisation that men fit into. Everyone on the same team. All working for the same goal. All implicitly bros by virtue of being toward the same goal.

The boat is also like how men make social structures, habits, external things that they use to the point where it's like they're living in those things and those things are part of them.
