I've noticed there's 2 types of Christians that I argue with. One is the analytical type who draws upon sources such as the Bible, philosophy, and morality. The other just thumps their Bible (which they probably never read) and scream "DON'T QUESTION ME!"
It’s to stop a loophole really. According to Christianity all good people go to heaven and heaven is better than Earth so there’s no reason to not have a nice day to get to heaven faster. They made up the arbitrary rule that suicide=no heaven to stop people from doing this.

Not quite. God has a purpose for us on Earth so suicide is denyig the fulfillment of that purpose. Otherwise there is no purpose to starting us off on Earth first, might as well send us all straight to Heaven. It is more complicated than that, but that is basically why suicide is a sin versus being like 'I'm coming Lord!' and ignoring God/Jesus going 'wait wait wait you need to do this, and haven't met them, and haven't prepared for heaven, and spread the truth, and showed this person love, and-'.
Suicide is a sin just like killing another human is
Thou shalt not kill.
And Jesus says even hating someone is committing murder in their heart.
But lying is a sin, so is lusting for someone other than your wife/husband, so is stealing, etc.
The only unforgivable sin is denying the Holy Spirit (aka hardening your heart to not allow salvation, something like that).
Hell was originally for Satan and his' angels. The original afterlife was Sheol for all. It wasn't until Jesus started blabbering about an eternal lake of fire that Hell became a concept. Thank G-d that I'm israeli. I'll be meeting up with my faith family in a cool afterlife. No goys allowed, now THAT is Heaven.

No, there's still a loop hole remaining. If you die a for a holy or noble cause, you're a martyr, which is an instant ticket to Heaven.
