It's a space opera, which is a subgenre of sci-fi.
People who go "IT'S MORE A FANTASY IN SPACE THAN A SCI-FI" have obviously never heard of space opera, which is basically what they're describing.
No it doesn't. t. low IQ who watched the Matrix for WOAHHH COOL SLOW MOTION BULLET DODGING WOAH NEO IS BADASS "Man I wish I was in the Matrix it'd be cool to fly and learn kungfu!"
I agree with this fag. The Matrix was something special. It was fun and beautiful and smart and dumb all at the same time. Keanu's bad acting reinforced the film. The kung-fu was better and choreographed better than any but the top 10 kung-fu movies. It was also a legit and thematically perfect cyberpunk movie.
Logan's Run
Logan's Run is fucking unwatchable nobody can still appreciate that movie between the time they meet the crazy robot dressed in a tinfoil box through the dumbass end of the movie. They clearly could have done way, way better with what they had.
It’s not sci-fi, it’s space fantasy, a genre which heavily incorporates science fiction.
That makes it easily the best space fantasy film (original Star Wars) while the throne for best sci-fi film can be debated till the end of time.
Alien - demonic movies
The Matrix - gnostic mythos
Star Wars - pantheist God with Gnostic elements and a placeholder duality as an ilussion, Jedi's transcend matter they have to leave their flesh behind.
I see a pattern with you. I too like those movies as movies but I'm so aware of their worldview that they're actually very low rated in my catalog.
2001: A Space Odyssey.
Not to be "that guy" but Star Wars is more adventure in space than sci-fi imo.

The Matrix.
It accomplishes the feat of making even the lowest IQ crayon eating retards in the audience think about philosophy.

Star Wars, Alien and The Matrix are pretty close in quality.
Kubrick was a sperg who didn't understand human beings, pacing or storytelling.

I am probably thinking of production quality. Alien is essentially a B movie but the production is outstanding
You're like my friend who calls every movie he doesn't like a "B movie".
I like Alien
>Kubrick was a sperg who didn't understand human beings, pacing or storytelling.
Shut up, homosexual.
The self dies eventually. It is not exactly Plato. A sperg does not see itself as sperg. His movies are proof
