"Mecha-Streisand" is the twelfth and penultimate episode of the first season of the American animated television series South Park. It originally aired on Comedy Central in the United States on February 18, 1998. In the episode, Barbra Streisand obtains the Diamond of Pantheos from Stan, Cartman, Kyle and Kenny, and transforms into a giant mechanical dinosaur called Mecha-Streisand. She is ultimately defeated by The Cure frontman Robert Smith, who himself transforms into a giant moth monster. "Mecha-Streisand" parodies numerous popular Kaiju films and features portrayals of actor Sidney Poitier and film critic Leonard Maltin.

The celebrity shitfits about their depictions in South Park are more funny than the show itself.

Look at it another way.... South Park is a byproduct of the 90s (which speaks volumes of the show's lasting power to this day). The celebs that lent their voices at the time were up and coming stars and artists.

      >Brent Spiner still surfing on TNG fame then.
      >Cheech and Chong, cult stoner icons
      >Elton John, Ozzy Osbourne, Joe Strummer, Rancid, Ween, Primus, Meat Loaf, Rick James, DMX, and Devo voiced themselves in Chef Aid episode. They were great in the 90s, but their star has fade since.
      >George Clooney was into odd-ball roles before being that super-sexy ER doctor.
      >Jennifer Aniston
      >Radiohead
      >Korn
      >Robert Smith
      >Natasha Henstridge

...see I'm listing off these names because back then these celebrities "meant something", which is a cheesy way to explain my point. But you can't really say that about today's "celebrity" culture can you?

So perhaps it's not because South Park burned their bridges, but instead celebrity culture turn into pure garbage in the closing days of the 90s, the South Park showrunners figured it was more profitable to rip on all the current big names like "Lizzo", than trying to gain clout from them.

Fun fact about the Worldwide Recorder Concert episode. When it came out, my mom saw it and she said it was so vile that she would never watch South Park again. (Referring, of course, to Mackey wanting to get fricked by his father)
