It’s was Wallace’s gun. He left it on the counter when he went to get coffee and donuts.

Wait for real??? I didn't realize Wallace was hanging around with Vince.

They were waiting for Butch at his apartment, Wallace bailed to get them breakfast.

I didn't think Wallace would be there though. I figure he just sent Vince to cover the apartment while he did other shit.
It makes sense, he'd want to deal with Butch personally (assuming he was moronic enough to return to the apartment)

I think it's Vincent's gun. Do you remember the dialogue between Jules and Vincent when he opens the trunk of the car and they take out their weapons,They believe it would have been better to bring shotguns to do the job because they didn't know how many guys were in the apartment.Vincent decides to carry the machine gun to kill Butch because of how dangerous he is as a boxer, remember that Butch killed poor Floyd in the ring.

A high profile guy like Wallace wouldn't go anywhere without a gun and the machine gun isn't exactly discreet. Plus, if the gun wasn't Vincent's then he would've panicked and scrambled to pull out his own while he was in the doorway.

Wallace had his gun on his person. Remember how he starts to shoot at Butch when he wakes up in the street? Does anyone in this thread know what the frick they're talking about? Or do you all write fan fiction in your stupid heads to shit up threads?

      >He didn't think butch would come back
That makes him an even bigger moron. His entire job hinges on the possibility of his target making these sorts of mistakes. He can't afford to. Even if there was an absolute certainty Butch had skipped town, he has no reason to make rookie mistakes like this.

Vincent is a careless idiot. Every time he leaves the bathroom something happens, first it was Mia's overdose, then this, and finally the Mexican standoff in the restaurant, although the latter was not his fault ...Unless we take into account that he was the one who shot Marvin which caused this whole sequence of bizarre events.

I love how indignant Vega is after the gun goes off.

Yes, if we examine the pulp fiction episodes closely it is as if Vincent's incompetence triggered all the stories.

It's amazing that Vincent lived that long given how many times he messed up in the movie.
          He should've taken that advice...

The guy stayed alive so long because he went to live in Holland for 5 years. 3 or 4 days after returning to America he is murdered. what a b***h

On a side note I would like to comment that Vincent's death reinforces Jules' thesis about divine intervention. I imagine Jules finding out about Vincent's death just the day after the miracle occurred. Jules saying "I knew it, I knew it."

              >Vincent's death reinforces Jules' thesis about divine intervention
Do you believe the divine intervention was real? I see people talk about the mystery of the suitcase more. But Jules' talk about divine intervention is just standard hood talk. "Divine intervention" is just the law of averages eventually catching up to you. Put yourself into dangerous situations enough times, and eventually you'll get caught up in one. Jules was lucky that the thing that woke him up was a situation he didn't intentionally walk into.

I don't believe it as such, that is, I don't believe that God used his power and stopped the bullets.I mean how Jules' character would feel when he found out about Vincent's death, which is a great fact within the movie.

I think there is some kind of religious theme in the movie, Taratino invented a Bible text for it after all. Throughout the movie we are shown many scenes of Vincent being a terrible person (has to convince himself not to mess with Mia when it should be an obvious thing, acts hostile to Butch for no reason, kills Marvin by accident, challenges The Wolf when he's trying to help them) and Vincent is punished for all those things with his death. Vincent was given a sign to change his ways and he didn't, even if he stayed working for Wallace he could have at least been less careless, but he didn't and so he paid the price.
