He was right, the only problem is palpatine was a cartoonishly evil secret super villain who's a stand in for the literal devil, and he goes from zero to kill all the kids because space magic makes him evil.
The Jedi compromised every principle they ever claimed to have, told him to forget his mother in slavery, who was raped to death by sand Black folk, when they could easily help her and all the other slaves.
Why wouldn't you side with your father figure and mentor, who seems like a great guy who wants order, and you've known and fought in the name of for years?
The only real problem is the instant wall of oh, I'm evil now.

No it’s an enlightened way of looking at death. They love but they don’t need to mourn or be consumed by it. Anakin was too focused on a possibility it ruined his life.

Not much, just him not being accepted into the council and Palpatine telling him that the Jedi are trying to kill him.
Prequel fans will say otherwise though, pretending that Anakin knew a lot more than what is shown in the films.

There's the canon shows as well that give more context on the fall of the Jedi from their principles and moral standing in Anakins eyes. But at the end of the day, Anakin slips and surrenders to the mental control of Sheev. Thats how the switch to child killer happens. He ceases to be Anakin in that moment. Remember, Sheev has been mindfricking unwilling senators for years. Doing the same to a willing, desperate man was easy for him.

I would have made the same decision as Anakin, right up to the point Palps turned into the monster mash and said go kill all the kids and then I would have been like dude what the frick are you smoking?
And I probably would have had a better argument for mace dindu not to kill the chancellor.

Their neglect, callousness and adherence to doctrine over fundamental goodness and decency. That's why Qui Gon and Luke are the only true jedi

I was almost thinking Ruin Johnson was right for a minute as I was reflecting on this thread.
But he still was a fricking moron. There would be no reason Luke would regress into ego and then collapse when his ego failed him, he had already reached enlightenment.

        >I was almost thinking Ruin Johnson was right
        He wasn't.

Their ''doctrine'' was goodness and decency though.

They were more concerned with their rules than just doing the right thing. That's why Qui gon was considered such a maverick, he just did what he thought was right, frick the rules. The jedi were c**ts to a little boy who had just left his mother, especially that wiener sucker, Mace. They basically decided he was too old to brainwash and that was that.

They only accepted him out of guilt/respect for qui gons death. If he had not died and the jedi refused him the right to train anakin. I think he would have left the order and trained anakin anyway.

Their ''doctrine'' was goodness and decency though.

        Anonymous

Their doctrine was basic liberal elite goodness and decency. Which is to sit in your temple of comforts pontificating about deep thoughts while doing nothing tangible to help those around you.
Where were the campaigns to free slaves from the hutt clans, where were the efforts to feed the poor and downtrodden, why were there no jedi soup kitchens?
All the Jedi did was gatekeep their knowledge of the force and protect it. Lucas probably intended of course some commentary on the church and it's hypocrisy, but really the Jedi are just much more similar to champagne socialists.
If they were dedicated to good and decency they wouldn't be living in a marble temple so big you could see it from 100 miles away in the center of Coruscant, they would be out doing good and decent things to help people.

    >I served for 33 rotations, and four cycles, under the banner of the Republic, yet, most of that time, I was a glorified enforcer, a lightsaber for hire for the Trade Federation, and the Galactic Banking Clan. A Jedi pawn, you might say. I helped secure spice shipments on Kessel, stabilized resource-rich Outer Rim planets for the Hutts, and ensured lancar flow through Trade Federation hyperspace lanes. In essence, I was a gangster, wielding the Force for the profit of the greedy. I brought "peace" to Ryloth for the Hutts' spice trade, quelled dissent on Kashyyyk for the Trade Federation's lumber operations, and crushed rebellions on countless worlds for the Banking Clan's debtors. I was the dark side's instrument, leaving a trail of suffering across the galaxy. Looking back, even Darth Maul might scoff at my reach. He wielded his crimson blades in a single system; I, a lightsaber across countless star systems.

given disney's access to infinite money, it would've been tight for them to explore a "gritty" look at how jedi were actually evil pedos, with a more competent director. but then it would get too close to the truth with GATE programs and things like that. the show "Pretender" from the late 90s briefly hinted at this topic as well.

Why do the threads with surface level answers exist?
If you watch RotS you know what lead up to his point of view.
Jedi have tried to kill the president of the state bypassing judgement system. Thats Anakin's technical cope.
Jedi have tried to kill the one man who presumably promised him to save his wife. Thats the real reason.
Jedi also have tried to kill the man who treated him like son and admired his ambitions and power. Thats another layer.
All in all Jedi would look kinda evil to him.
Obviously, thats what his twisted mind and paranoia dictate him. But that the point of his character development and theme of powerful people's ambition for even more power.
This answer doesnt require deep understanding of SW or complicted analysis. Its served in digestable form by Lucas in RotS for everyone who have above ~80IQ.
