The last one they did in the DCEAU. Apokolips War. They wanted to close the universe for some reason and decided the best way would be to kill and maim everybody, rape characters, destroy the universe, give everybody the worst end possible, and then have Barry do another Flashpoint right at the end as the few mangled heroes left living stare off into the horizon of their ruined world.

To what? The early DC animated movies were OK but they've been pretty shitty and low budgety for the past couple of years.

Nothing. They've all been shit since Under The Red Hood, except for that one Superman one.
DC animated movies were fricking terrible. If it wasn't bad animation, it was shit writing. Like all the MCU-tier quips or how most of the heroes were incredibly out of character and Batman was consistently the only one that always got a good showing. Because the writers were clearly Batgays and didn't even pretend otherwise. I could type an essay about how bad these things were.
They were actually pretty cool until they decided to make their shared edgy universe based on the new 52 adapting some famous stories in them, gosh that Era of dc movies sucked balls, it was better when dc just adapted the more famous stories of their heroes, like year one or all star superman, the elseworlds were cool too.
If I had to guess.
In the eyes of WB execs, this was just some straight to DVD cartoon side project made out of their pocket change, so less expectations from audiences and less creative meddling and "too many cooks in the kitchen" situation that dc's cinematic universe is currently fricked with. They simply used new52(and others) as an outline to make their "interconnected" universe like the MCU.
Sucks that it ended with apocalypse war but then again, looking at young justice's revival, maybe it's better off staying dead
They pander to comic and cartoon fans and didn't try to attract larger audience. So the ones who knows stuff gets hired.
