What makes Vegito strongest fighter in Z?

So, Boohan rapes SSJ3 Goku without breaking a sweat.
Vegeta is so weak he can't deal with Mr. Boo
But somehow, potara fusion makes them significantly stronger than Boohan, what the frick? How does that make sense?

They explain it. Fusion has a power multiplier, and if there is tension between the two constituents (like the rivalry between Goku and Vegeta), that multiplier is much higher.

It still really bothers me. Vegeto shouldve needed to turned ss3 to close the power gap

vegito was far more powerful than ss3, homie should have easily gone to like ss12
the fact that toriyama cucked vegeta out of an ss3 form but lets him go to ssg makes no sense

They did the fusion dance and became Gogeta (Vegito is from the potara ear rings). The movie is called Fusion Reborn and it's pretty decent imo. I also like those effects thay you're talking about.

This part of Z literally feels like:
    >Super Boo: My power level is 1 billion
    >Gotenks SSJ3: Frick, you my power level is now 10 billion
    >Gohan: Frick you, my power level is now 100 billion
    >Bootenks: Frick you, my power level is now 1 trillion
    >Goku SSJ3: Frick you, my power level is now 10 trillion
    >Boohan: Frick you, my power level is now 100 trillion
    >Vegito: Frick you, my power level is now 1 quadrillion
And this shit just happens in handful of episodes, if you watch Recut it is literally just 3 episodes

Wrong. He wanted to focus on piccolo. Toei was forcing gohan into all the marketing against his wishes.

It's even stupider because Goku suggests they bring Gohan to fight Kid Boo, but Vegeta insists on genki dama, because "muh earthling should contribute something"

I agree that super dama is more climatic than Gohan just one-shotting him, but it isn't earned. Toriyama had and ate his cake.

What bothers me is these abstractions of power levels are not explained.
Like Toriyama just says "Bootenks is stronger than Gohan" and proceeds to show Bootenks beating the hell out of Gohan, without Gohan being able to land a single punch.

Why is it this like? I can buy Bootenks can shoot more ki, and has better regeneration, but neither Super Boo nor Gotenks was shown as exceptionally fast, unlike Gohan.
And Gohan should still be a better martial artist.
    Why is it so one-sided?

      >And Gohan should still be a better martial artist.
      Because he isn't
Goku SSJ3 only could endure some seconds to Bootenks because he is an experienced fighter

      >but neither Super Boo nor Gotenks was shown as exceptionally fast,

Gotenks was circling the globe easily in some gag page, while Piccolo was still trying to get off of the lookout. Gotenks was ultra busted, like attoseconds tier Flash, or Saitama. Nothing after him was impressive at all. Mystic Gohan, Vegito, etc. Gotenks was that absurdly strong. So strong that Toriyama probably forgot he wrote them that strong, like he forgot just about everything he drew after he drew it

    >Goku, to use the potara earrings is irreversible! You will be forever fused with Vegeta no matter what!
    *one episode later*
    >oh boy Vegita! Looks like we aren't fused any more!

It was probably intended as a fusion dance.
Basically, Toei's Fusion Reborn movie a few months before Gohan got absorbed.
Toriyama wanted Gogeta, but because Toei beat him to the punch, for whatever reason he didn't want Toei's sloppy seconds, and invited another fusion (potara) so he could create an alternative fusion, Vegito.

      Anonymous

Obviously they weren't going to actually stay fused forever, though having the fusion magically cancel when they got absorbed was dumb. Instead Toriyama could have just had Vegeta's time on Earth run out, since he was there on one of Baba's temporary resurrections while Goku was actually alive. It would make sense for the fusion to be canceled when only Vegeta got pulled back to the afterlife.

how would you realistically fix dragon ball's problems? no power levels? only goku gets to be a super saiyan? androids before the saiyan arc?

      Anonymous

Most battle-shounen have the same problem, stronger is just stronger.
Think the solution would be some sort of rock-paper-scissors system.
Where magic is divided into three skills, A is effective against B, B is against C, and C is effective against
So, mastering all skills would be nearly impossible, so characters would have fight in teams composed of specialists for each kill.

There is no fixing powerlevels because there is nothing to fix in the first place. The stronger fighter always wins the conflict.

The problem is the series was a gag manga that Toriyama, during the Demon King Piccolo arc, wanted to introduce something serious and dangerous into the story. The problem was, he couldn't have any stories with real stakes if there was an object that could rectify any and all problems. He tried to find ways to limit the Dragon Balls, only to empower them again whenever he wrote himself into a corner

The man waited till the last second to both write the story and draw it for that week. He didn't think of anything beyond that week either. Most creators will ponder on things at least to some degree about how the story will be down the road, but not Toriyama. He was as disconnected from his work as one could possibly be

The answer to most questions in Dragon Ball is: Toriyama didn't care
