I think it’s a consequence of Peter being the character that is “relatable” so marvel makes Peter a loser the butt of the jokes. And also giving him lots of stupid gay conflict and drama. This results in a lot of weird shit that’s either trolling at Peter’s expense (Doc Ock and Aunt May) or god awful soap opera NTR shit (Sins Past, Paul and MJ)

Some gay plot drama happened, they got stuck in an alternate dimension with him, had a life with him, had two kids with him. All Spider-Man fans are super mad about it, I hadn’t seen this much anger in a long time. So Peter got cucked pretty badly cause mj was cold to Peter and had a new life with Paul and their kids.
The kids aren’t real and vanished out of existence in some comic leaks but no one knows if Paul is Mephisto or is actually some fricking guy but either way the whole storyline is moronic, easily the worst Spider-Man run of all time

He came up with the idea of Peter being married as something that aged the character and made any new reader incapable of identifying with him.

It would have been a good move to bring back Gwen as a potential love interest since they were starting everything over. Really was the worst of both worlds choice Quasada made.

Apparently the whole writing process was a clusterfrick because Quesada simply wanted retcon story to undo the marriage and the Other, as well as bringing back Harry. When JMS asked him about the massive amount of plotholes caused by Harry being alive, Quesada answered the infamous "It's magic, we don't have to explain it" line. In the end, JMS wanted his name off the book because Marvel Editorial rewrote so much of the script it barely resembled what he had in mind. So apparently Mephisto could rewrite reality, but Doctor Strange couldn't do something as simple as saving an old lady's life or letting her die and then resurrect her.

It depends on specific details of her origin. Let’s compare comics mayday to spider verse mayday:
In maydays timeline Peter lost his leg fighting the goblin. He’s retired and working with the police. The Parker’s live a very quiet and comfortable life. Mayday developed powers and became a hero in spite of this normalcy, like destiny
In spider verse, Peter is still kicking, and mayday has powers from a very young age. So she has to be trained by Peter and she knows he’s Spider-Man.
They’re different circumstances that create different characters, but it’s the circumstances of the original mayday are very unlikely to reoccur. No way marvel lets Peter retire after injury and they won’t time skip nearly two decades until mayday gets powers. She’s definitely going to be a super baby from a young age and trained by Peter to be responsible, which means she’ll become a hero

Peter never really wanted to be a hero until the whole uncle Ben stuff, but Mayday seeing herself as a hero for basically her whole life could have an interesting affect on how she views herself and her actions. Nice, that’s a really good parallel too. She’s the exact opposite of her parents - Peter had to learn responsibility, MJ did to, but Mayday would be unique as she was responsible and mature from a young age and understood Peter’s lessons without having to suffer to learn it.
I think Peter and MJ would be nervous about mayday becoming a hero because she’s very young and naive, and that’s the conflict. They taught her responsibility but didn’t want her to become a hero, but they taught her too well so she was always destined to become one because it’s what she wanted
I like that conflict, I think it would interesting too to see if Peter and MJ have different/harsher views on mayday being spider-girl, though I think the original spider-girl touched on that a bit. That's the crux of it. And if handled well, you could get a really good dynamic with may and her half sister while also tackling the half sibling issue.

To be honest, Felicia is the character who will never be tied down in a relationship. Not until the wheels fall off at least. Being Spider-Man is a balance and peter will never abandon being normal. It ties him down to reality. What everyone can agree is that Felicia and Peter would have a kid, but it would tie to after he gets married to MJ. It's a point blank story that hasn't really been touched on that fits.
Unironically the only possible option for Felicia is to be in a threeway relationship with Peter and Mary Jane. Felicia’s character, even at her most developed, fundamentally revolves around her love for Peter, the man who made her become a hero. Her close friendship/sisterhood with Mary Jane always has the uncomfortable tension of this. The only logical way to resolve it is if they both start dating her. Marvel did it to resolve Scott/Jean/Logan/Emma, if they were smart they’d do it with MJ and Felicia

She’s constantly involved in his life and interacting with him. That leads to the problems of Felicia being stuck in limbo that can only be resolved with a relationship

Like she’s really confident in herself as a hero until she has to face a serious villian, where she starts spending less time with her friends/starts being less social and loses confidence in herself. Obviously this could be expanded on, but I think this would be a decent arc for her
Yeah, this would be a good Arc. She starts off naive, faces a lot of struggles from her crime fighting career, she doesn’t adapt perfectly to it. Then Peter and mj guide her through it. It would be a comfy coming of age story, with more focus on family unlike Peter who didn’t have anyone he could really talk to.
This is kind of what marvel wants to do with miles - the mentor/apprentice thing, but obviously it’s better cause mayday is better and she has a stronger connection to Peter and mj
I think it should be a mix of both, where Peter raises Mayday to be a good natured, kind hearted person but doesn’t want her to use her powers out of fear for what’ll happen to her. As Mayday grows up she gains a burning desire that there’s more that she could be doing given her potential and starts doing hero work behind Peter’s back in a costume that conceals her identity but doesn’t make her hero persona easily identifiable (think of the burning building scene in Incredibles 1).
I think this is the best bridge between both interpretations. Mayday gets both:
She starts off having cute spider adventures with Peter and knows he’s Spider-Man and has powers
But when she gets older Peter and mj don’t want her as a hero, maybe they even forbid it
Mayday is too heroic and becomes a hero behind her back, maybe as spider girl or someone else
This can lead to some tension and drama where mayday has a duel identity, trying to hide her alter ego from her parents and balance her school life without getting in trouble, which was like the first mayday comics

Make it so that Peter essentially overcompensates and neglects her so that she doesn't turn out a nerdy type like himself.

Combine it with Peter being her chemistry teacher (she keeps getting F's in his class) and Mayday ditching her responsibilities to hang out with Uncle Ben and Uncle Kaine and I think you've got something.

here’s what I’d want: a 3-4 season animated series, around 15 episodes each season, with the same animation quality as something like spectacular but with a bit of a better artstyle. Season 1 would follow mayday a year as spider-girl, and you get to know her relationship with her parents, friends, and her confidence as a hero. However more serious villains show up, some older ones but mostly new ones. Mayday and her family have to figure out how to deal with them while she also tries to maintain her social life and place as a popular girl. Obviously her parents start to worry more and more for her and she tries to convince them (as well as herself) she’s capable to be a hero. The other seasons I don’t know really
