    >creepy old cabin's basement is full of hanging mutilated cats, human-shaped burn marks, and an ancient book wrapped in barbed wire that warns not to open or read from it

I liked it, the violence was really unsettling and the ending was kino. Still waiting for a Mia/Ash team up movie that will never happen.

Unless i'm walking a straight up spoof(leslie nielsen, mel brooks, wayans) i need the movie to take itself seriously or i can't. It's not something i've chosen, i just can't ignore it when a movie that is otherwise pretty serious or starts with a very serious premise suddenly turns goofy. No matter how good the movie up until then was, it instantly becomes a 0/10.

If it used less CGI and more practical effects, I think I would've actually liked it more than the originial.

Army of darkness and Ash vs evil dead really killed this franchise 2013 was solid. Hope it gets a sequel Ash is cringe at this point ruins the movies.

They were attempting to grab a new audience with a modern soft reboot that'd eventually lead to another Army of Darkness and then a movie where they crossover. Not enough of a demand for the soft reboot so they killed it and moved on to Ash Vs. Evil Dead.

Reboot doesn't have near the dedicated fanbase that Bruce's stuff had and Jane Levy isn't interested in doing a sequel. 2013 is dead. Won't get more Ash stuff unless it's just Bruce doing voice acting. That's why they're rebooting it again with Evil Dead Rise.

        >Evil Dead Rise.
As long as Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi are not involved it has a chance of being good and not cringe 3 stooges humour. It worked in Evil dead 2 because the movie was still dark and scary, then in Army and Ash vs Evil it became a parody.

If Bruce Campbell wants to stay a fat slob the rest of his life good for him. Just stop going in front of a camera is all I ask. If I wanted to watch fat people I can step outside my house I live in America after all.

this is honestly one of my favorite horror movies from the last decade. I'd much rather watch something like this over Hereditary or some slow burn bone chilling A24 flick
